was the first to record the 32 Beethoven sonatas in 1932) opined that
Schubert - not Beethoven or Bach - was the greatest composer (or maybe the
most perfect). Schnabel's recordings of the Schubert sonatas are also in a
Marshall did in fact make several emphatic points about the superiority of
the 124 wagon - I'm quite sure of it. Not saying he was correct, just
emphatic. I remember thinking I should probably "graduate" to a 124 but
never actually drove one.

So really it isn't worth taking the turbo out to set the waste
gate to a higher pressure since most of the driving I do I don't
even get near the 9 but once a month if that.

I don't think he ever actually said the 124 wagon was a better car. More
refined certainly but not "better".
Today I drove both my '84 190D and '78 240D, the 190D is certainly more refined
but it lacks that certain something of the 123. All in all I enjoy having both
of them.
