I have had difficulty with makecert as its cumbersome at best. If you
download the IBM HTTP Server software which is available at their site you
can use the GUI which is similar to the IBM Global Services kit on AIX. I
was able to generate self signed certificates with relative ease. Check it
out.

We have the following scenario:
1. Cluster_DD with qmgrs R1 and R2 (on AIX#1) being full
repositories. QM1, QM2, QM3.. QM9 being partial repositories on AIX,
W2K, Sun and z/OS.
2. Cluster_QA with qmgrs R4 and R5 (on AIX#2) being full
repositories. QMA, QMB, QMC.QMX being
name as the cluster
queue(s). I think your concern would be more justified
if the local alias queue Q1 were a queue of type
local instead, in which case the messages would end
up on this local instance of the queues Q1...
Best regards,
Ruzi

In the example described, which queue gets the authority set, Q1 the alias
or Q1 the local or both??? Isn't it dangerous to have the same name for
alias' as for local queues in a cluster environment?? BB.

. The same applies to an alias queue
resolving to a local queue (not cluster) on the same
qmgr.

I'm currently prototyping SSL in MQSeries and using the IGS kit on both AIX
and W2K. Relatively easy to use but not as user friendly as I would like.
When you order V5.3 you specify with or without IGS. Not sure what you want
to know. Anything specific?? BB.

Hi, have been doing a lot of research and have got it working on W2K but
still trying it to work on a Palm driven device (in my case a Kyocera 7135).
Its a whole new world. Have fun. BB.

Have MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels set at 2000, the MaxInitiators
defaults to 3 and the ListenerBacklog at 1024. Getting Java.Channel
connection rejections even though there is no indication that at any given
moment in time, there are so many connections to the server. Anyone help

All of a sudden getting the message below when accessing the MQ Explorer.
Have ensured that my userid is in both the Administrator group and the mqm
group. Can do everything using a command prompt but not with the MQ
Explorer. Changes had been made to the security template but the Windows

Hi
Excuse the ignorance, but why do you have multiple listeners?
Have you tried the -f option?

Further on endmqlsr... I tried using the -f option to end multiple
listeners and MQ doesn't accept the -f option, at least not on AIX??? I
tried different combinations, like entering the options in different
sequences but to no avail. Each time I try MQ just comes back with.
Usage: endmqlsr
We have more than 1 listener running per Qmgr on AIX. We have a script that
refreshes our Qmgrs by shutting them down and restarting each on request.
endmqlsr -m QMGR doesn't seem to shut down all listeners but leaves at
least one up and when we restart the Qmgr we get an error saying MQ can't

The following note was sent to me from one of our developers. It concerns
the problem of being able to compile a program having several subprograms.
This is not necessarily an MQ problem but all our MQ programs have to be
compiled for the Sun system. We have no problem on AIX or OS/390, just Sun.
Transmission Unit (MTU) should be set less than 1500 (ie. 1492 or something
like that). Is anyone out there using satellite transmission for MQ (not
MQe) for messages? If so, how do you address this issue? Or, must we go to
MQe? Thanx. BB.
