Anyway my time at this company draws to a close on Friday.
I am not sure if I will stay with MQSeries or not but I have enjoyed all
the knowledge transfered on the GOOD MQ list.
So long for now

Just my opinion but with today's DASD AKA Shark and such , you really do not have a
single volume any longer.
I say you can use striped volumes but I don't think it makes a big difference either
way. It sounds like your SMG needs more to do.

If I understand your question you can do some or all of the following:
1) Define a NON-triggered error queue for the application and then a process to
interrogate
why it was sent to this queue ( normally the end user would investigate this ).
2) Define a non-system error repository
It is my turn for something odd.
We have an application from WIN2000 to OS390 with the weirding way.
This is a timed process on the WIN2000 side and a triggered event on the OS390/CICS
side. It seems that this process works fine from the hours of 6:00 am to say 9:00 am
and then again works fine
