Hi,
a question to the optical-formula gurus. Pentax describes the optics of
this mirror lens as 6 elements in 4 groups. Looking at the diagram that
they provide us, I see 8 elements. I will number them 1 through 8 when
looking from left to
This is a reply to a really old message but what the heck:
After checking carefully there is no doubt that the filter is an
Aroma! Perhaps they're trying to get people to mistake them
for Aruma filters? ;-)
(Something definitely smells funny here...)
I can confirm that. I have an Aroma
Hi Stephen
I don't know if there is an easy answer to your problem.
My passion at present is photographing horses racing, especially harness
racing. I am just now starting to be happy with the majority of my
photographs. The last year has been a big, long, steep learning curve.
I have burnt
Probably not nuts, Paal. Your postings seem coherent. But, then.
I have personal article insurance on all my camera stuff. All the reputable
commercial sources for a Pentax A300 F4 seem to show the lens at $650 and up. I have
the insurance level for that lens at $700.

There are, indeed a bunch for less than $100.
But no one mentioned this being a Takumar
lens, I thought it was a Pentax SMC lens.
Are these 2 different lenses? Which one is

Bob, I have a 600mm FA that I regularly use with a 1.4X-L converter. I can't
tell from the image whether it was taken with or without the converter. My
personal belief is to use the Pentax converters with Pentax lenses. I
believe (unsubstantiated) these combos produce the best results.

Have you tried Tamron?
