I had that happen once. Don't recall the exact circumstances, but it never
happened again. Your camera probably just needs a good rest and some chicken
soup.

"Common", as in "frequent", "usual"? Have you heard of this happening before?

My best answer is: as far as as I know, yes. It was put in my bag
about a week ago, after charging until the green light on the charger

Bruce,
Hoods are my friends as well.
Interesting photo - an oriental model in a glamor wardrobe.
The flare does add a bit of mystery...

I think it may, Collin. Somebody here did a thorough test with a range
of DA glass and made a table of FF-compat or not, plus caveats.
Anyone here have a link to that?
But if I got a FF body (and after Cotty ate his hat), I'd want to use
the 77 LTD or an 85. 50-55mm is really too short for good p

Every image I've seen from that DA55/1.4 has a wonderful rendering.
I wonder if it will cover a full frame, or how close it will come.

My problem was that when I'd try to take a picture it would turn off, but yours
sounds like a more common problem. In any case if it's not a battery, it's
probably a power supply. Contact Pentax, or CRIS and see if you can get things
lined up before sending it in.

Christine N,
I gotta ask, was the replacement battery fully charged?
Charge the original and the replacement and then try this again.
Any K-5 issues I've had were resolved by fully charged batteries.
(Not counting the 6 AA's I used for a while in the battery grip - very
weak energy source.)

#1: lighting's good, perhaps a little too even? Subject looks a little
tense though; did you take many shots? Bit of retouch, fade those
hotspots, and you're good to go, I'd say.
#2 is way too soft for me. It'd be okay if reduced for use as a
thumbnail, otherwise I'd skip it.
Good stuff, Collin.
