Spotify on MySqueezebox does not use the protocol handler so will only
play on the Touch and Radio, not the Duet, Boom, Classic or older
players.

Without Perl-related SSL libraries (not only OpenSSL), it cannot work

you've followed precisely the procedure. I think somewhere in this
thread, there was some discussions about VB 2.4 being a better base, but
I'm not sure. Other

I've been hitting refresh almost daily on this thread anxious for the
release. Currently I have on/off functionality of my Squeezeboxes with
my voice via ha-bridge and domoticz. I can't wait to be able to change
music and volume with my voice though! Keep up the good work!
It look like you need pulseaudio to be setup as system if you are
runnign LMS as a service. LMS does not have to run as a service - that
is a user installed choice.
>From Pulse audio man page
Code:
--system[=BOOL]
Run as system-wide instance instead of per-user.

bpa - my understanding so far is that ALSA supplies the basics to use
the sound cards. Since Ubuntu 9.10 - introduced with 8.04 - the
preferred sound server is pulseaudio (that must be 2010 or so) for
Ubuntu (exception: Lubuntu, which is pure ALSA).
The means in our case we have a chain like

I haven't had time to look at latest log.
Not possible to have Alsa and pulseaudio installed at the same time. I
think
ALSA is installed as well by default. I'll kill pulseaudio and give a
next try... in this case I must change to config back to arecord ?
Please advise. Txs

You now are beginning to understand why I hate Pulseaudio and think it
is the wrong default package. My advice is unless you really really
really need pulseaudio - uninstall pulseaudio and install ALSA and

Try restarting your Router. As it's the Touch itself that communicates
with mysbc and not the PC when you're using the Touch stand alone, maybe
there went something wrong in their connection.

tried that yesterday, made no difference.

What airplay is this? It's likely a ciphering issue - you need to enable
it on all shairport-based devices (most devices with unknown brand)

Well this is no problem using the lms (latest version) on my home
server. Problems appear when connecting to mysqueezebox.com and using
the spotify app there.
But can you say something about audio quality with and without protocol
handler / spotify app on lms and mysqueezebox.com?

If Pulse is not run system wide or as a daemon then an instance is run
under each logged in user process. This instance can only move audio
from processes under that logged in user. If LMS and the audio

I have been using WaveInput very successfully for over a year. Now the
sound is always distorted/warbling. LMS is running on a Raspberry Pi and
I have made no changes to the configuration. The warbling has always
occurred if the Pi is working too hard

Give it a shot and please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm used to
I still think the issue might be permissions but as I don't actively use
Pulse I'm not certain. If your LMS is running as a service, then it has
a different parent process to the application which is producing the
audio on the PC.
As a test - open a shell prompt, su to squeezeboxserver and run

Thank your for your reply. I played with this value (3 - 30 seconds),
but only the frequency and duration of the re-bufferings change.

I have tested the same setup and it works OK on my Ubuntu 14.04 - see
log below. Only difference are Ubuntu version and I don't run LMS as a
service. I'll study the log to seeif there is any differnce. You should
check whether Pulseaudio changed between 14.04 and 16.xx and if it did
what are
Log shows nothing useful for today except that your LMS has other
problem -log for yesterday shows using arecord.

You need to do a log with player.source set to DEBUG to see what is
going on.
Also attach a copy of the custom-convert.conf file.
