David, this your first post that has made me really angry. That girl was
courageous. You simply do not have facts on your side for most of your rant.

Wow, David. Terry Murray was a good friend of mine for many years. We lost
touch and I was just thinking about him the other day. Thank you for finding
that.

Yes! I was wondering that too. (Which goes to show I have been procrastinating

That's so strange because when I called for Don and myself, all they did was
verify phone and email and mailing address basically. No request for photo or
request to purchase stuff. Guess I got off easy.

David, as our NSS Pres Geary said to me "cheapest flight is Southwest to
Spokane". I checked, he is correct. I booked flight and rental car. No
obsessing needed if you do that right now. Unless of course you like that part.

Yeah the news seems to love that fear angle. The fact that most of the island
is just fine doesn't make good copy.
That said, the videos posted are pretty awesome.
It also seems to me that an awful lot of the things we have done in the past

he published.
Caving in Hawaii is trickier than many places due to landowner and native
hawaiian sensitivities. At the moment we have been sticking to mapping lava
tubes close to home - some quite small - and have the scars to prove it!

LOL what a photo. Perhaps purchase your plane ticket for Montana now and by
the time convention rolls around you will have it paid for and no worries.

At the Howdy party he was seen have a lively discussion with Don (Coons) about
what clothing would be appropriate for a cave expedition to Mars. Oh my.

Wow, that is one of the silliest things I've read in print about cavers in
awhile. If she really did say it, perhaps it is an opening for her, as a
teacher, to become better educated.

Hey David, Thanks!!
Steve is a great friend of ours and indeed, an awesome caver (as is his wife
Rachel). We've been missing them this season in Hawaii - they normally come on
our for a few weeks to map lava tubes but this year things got a little quirky.
