I went through the upgrade to hardy process a little over a week ago
and I run into a serious problem which is very much related to this.
I basically have two 500GB USB harddrives formatted as NTFS connect to
my Ubuntu machine. On these drives I have over 20 different SMB shares
each and the

I haven't done any changes to keyboard layout. I have a finnish
keyboard, and ä and ö works well.

I think I should clarify something. When you initially go to share a
folder a prompt comes up to install SAMBA. This is probably sufficient
for most people, as most are operating in a *nix/Windows environment.

The current version in Debian is 1.9-1, so we could sync that.
I'll try and rebuild and test that version in hardy tomorrow.

I am experiencing a similar problem to Colin's, though it seems to be
more severe: viewing a directory mounted with CIFS in Nautilus produces
a kernel panic within ~30 seconds (caps and num lock flashing). There
is no problem with listing directory contents or copying files through
the console.
