Well, it need not be a ticker, it need not be animated,Or it could be
animated by default and there is an option to turn off the animation. Or
the ticker is moving through just once and then stays still until the
mouse hovers over it, or ... I basically just wanted to suggest the

My box never did do well with Intrepid. Turns out, my ACPI is partially
non-functional including the temp sensor array. I ended up grabbing the
temps directly from the junctions to keep things cool in Hardy.
Couldn't get anywhere with it using Intrepid. Jaunty must have a

By way of connecting the note to the activity, I used the Anchor

the ciphers in another location (forget if it was AES or TKIP, but only

under global (I haven't tried with only some of the lines, so one or the

Memory allocation problem with virtual resolution
Have just encountered the same problem myself. Manifested itself as
growisofs ceasing to function following an upgrade from gutsy to hardy
(I hadn't tried to write a DVD for some time after the upgrade). Same
problem occurred with the intrepid and jaunty versions of growisofs.

I can confirm this on my Toshiba Satellite A300. It fails with or
without the proprietary ATI driver, with or without compositing on.

1- I only make 18 levels since for me smartdimmer goes from 15 to 100 with a

Update: Making it work is more complicated than that. Omitting the
-dvd-compat switch is not on its own enough to make it work.
First it is necessary to attempt to burn using dvdrecord. This fails
with the output posted above, but it does have some effect which allows

I have also Intel HDA audio controller (Thinkpad R61) and also have heavy
crackling problem (usually audio is crackling, sometimes it's silent, very
occasionaly it's ok). But not in MP3 files (they play ok), but in AVI
(containing MP3 usually). For example in this file:

When the laptop wake up, all file systems are read-only. I cannot open
any application

I have the same effect: randomly freezes. Today I had to do a reboot by switch
of power (Press and hold power button).
