Hi,
I've got following information in vpopmail-FAQ:
0. How can I set one virtual domain to be the primary domain for
the machine? We don't want to have any /etc/passwd users.
rm ~vpopmail/users
ln -s ~vpopmail/domains/"virtual domain to
user info from passwd and then change uid or gid with -i/-g options.
This way you can f.e. use any gid for quota reasons without messign with
/etc/group.
I've also added small fix to make vpopmail create domaind dirs and maildirs
with the correct ownership.
Grab it from
asking us to create a table passwd, we are not seen where this all using
any help will appricaiate.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to use qmail and Vpopmail to set up
a new mail server.
Here are the requirements I'm interested in, can it be done?
1. Store mail in Mailbox format not Maildir.
2. Store virtual domain user accounts using something other than
/etc/passwd

I wonder if we can drop this functionality and make
vpopmail only talk to virtual domains with the @domain.
I never liked the need for "vadduser username"
The only use is for domains that want virtual email

What do you mean by 'system aliases'? If you want to deliver mail

due to this patch or something else.
I've rebuilt bruceg's qmail RPM ( http://untroubled.org/qmail+patches/ )
and have updated it to use 0.31, but it appears that it's accepting mail
even when prompted for the required username and password, you give it
fudged values, i.e. a user account
test

clear passwd: xxx
uid: 0
gid: 0
all services available
dir: /usr/vpopmail/domains/.com/0///test
quota: 1500
usage:0%
notice the /// after 0
is that normal?
my setup is:
qmail 1.03 with no patches
vpopmail 5.2.1 with no patches, compiled with --enable-many-doma
eeing a situation where if a single user logs into and out of
