With Cisco there is a feature called Client Exclusion which can be set
to 60 to 300 seconds. If a client fails 802.1x auth three times they are
put in the exclusion list. Setting the timer to a high value 300 means
if the client fixes the login information correctly they still can not
I have not look in to this too much myself, but leaky feeder cable may
work in the shaft. They use this type of cable in mines for radio
communication. I don't see why WiFi would be much different. Works by
leaking signal from the coax every so many feet. Only place I would even
consider using
If you have old APs can can't jump to 8.1 or 8.2, I would recommend
8.0.132.0. There have been a ton of bug fixes since the release you are
currently on.
As for APs associating and disassociating, are there any issues with IPs
being reused or overlapping on the new vlan?

I think you got us on to something.
I checked the cert and got Leaf certificate is REVOKED (Reason=9).
Looks like this maybe the source of our issue.

Not sure if this will help at all.
With Cisco the surface will not connect to a secure SSID with PMF dot1x
set as optional.
We had to disable PMF dot1x and only use dot1x.
There are some strange issues with the wireless on the Surface.
