Re: (313) Stacey Kidd?...
Well, Stacey Kidd is coming to Melbourne sometime this month after all at a great venue. I have the full details. I just have to confirm with the promoter that's it's OK to post them as I don't wanna step on toes and get anyone upset (even though these cats are cool and associates of mine). It's a question of etiquette, I suppose. Regarding my earlier definition of DJ Rush I know that as a DJ he spins UR, Mills type stuff but I think his productions do have more of that ghetto house flava, as others have suggested. I must admit my ignorance on this one. Peace C -- From: Matt Hill [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) Stacey Kidd?... Re: (313) Stacey Kidd?...
I guess this ain't *entirely* 313 related but anyway. Stacey is playing Melbourne at the Prince Of Wales next weekend. At last some info on Mr Kidd. from the flier in Adelaide: Stacey Kidd has been involved in the Chicago house scene for many years, producing numerous records for Dust Traxx and Night Life Collective. He's also produced work with Paul Johnson, Gene Farris and other leading Chicago producers. His DJing style ranges through various styles of Chicago house and he's suited well within a diverse and up-front crowd. If you liked Gene Farris, then check out Stacey Kidd. (313) Does Nate Dream of 313 Sheep?
So I had a really messed up dream last night. In my dream, I was Gallagher who is a pretty unfunny comedian in the States that deals with physical comedy such as smashing fruit and spraying it all over the audience and other weirdness. I went to Bolivia to escape all of my fans who were stalking me. In Bolivia, I was whisked into an ice cream truck where there were all the sorts of people that I was trying to avoid. I finally escaped the truck to find Roger Kellier (313 significance hehe) who told me that all of these people in Bolivia were a virtual reality simulation he constructed using only Fatboy Slim audio and video clips. Making music all day, ice cream at midnight, and a completely uninspiring MTV video music awards did this to me. carry on n8
Re: (313) 9/9/99 party reviews wanted
Is that for Australia too? As that's not what I heard, it's just the US (Northern American) itinerary that is being done right now. You could be right. I know Europe and Asia are on the cards after the US. There is a guy here who knows Derrick May very well and works nationally, so I'm certain he'll be on to it. He knows of the tour. He really is the man for it as he knows the music and puts on great Detroit events which is very important in this country. (313) why 313?
I have a general question. I know that 313 is the area code for Detroit, but what is the motive for calling this list 313? Is it because 313 is a palindrome that 'looks cool'. Or is it that the records that were from Detroit had contact info and phone numbers that had 313-xxx- and someone said that is another 313 record. Just what is the deal? What is the historical reason?
