If I'm not mistaken, Stewart probably wants us to email the contest answers privately, so as not to spoil the contest. I don't think the soundbites are too obscure. I like that the bites are older. It's the only way I would stand a chance... Still need to peruse the content, but from the looks of Stewart's first message, I think he wants that in private too. Tristan __ Do You Yahoo!? Sonic Destroyer - UR (X101) recognise 1 and 3 and i think i've even got them but number 4 is the only one that comes to mind because i can't belive it was ripped of and put in to a crap eurotrance tune called time to burn surely this is worse than the jaguar ripoff yet i haven't seen anything from UR yet??? andrew
Re: [313] site feedback required
I just browsed through the sight, and it's pretty nice. A little lacking in content, but being so new it's to be expected. The interviews are well done IMHO. It would look nicer to have them all listed in a pull-down menu under the heading "Interviews", with the interview of the month listed on the front page right next to the menu. The soundbytes contest is tough, I recognize everything but have no clue as to the answers, I guess I'm just not old-skool enough ;) I would like to know #4 eventually. My one other critique - I'd like to see a different background color. Maybe it's just my old monitor, but it's a greenish-yellow, not the nicest of colors. Hope this helps. my time at home...
I made it home for the first time in over a year and i took full advantage of being within an hour of detroit. flint doesn't really have any action and all i was looking to do was relax, but my 2 saturday nights in Detroit were absolutely amazing. The first night i went down to Record Time to see Kevin Saunderson do a nice hour set and then got him to sign a flier for his new E-Dancer CD for me. His set was a good warm up for the night to come. quite enjoyable and the good news came that he may be at the Cochella Festival in Cali. Something i am going to goto anyways. Then I went to motor. I decided not to indulge in the alcohol for the night since i was the designated driver. Kevin and D-Wynn spun a tight energy filled house set. I really can't give any highlights since the whole night was. It was something that everyone should have seen, nothing can capture the energy that was in the room. I have never had that much fun at a club or party before. It just goes to show that the mixing doesn't have to be perfect if the energy is there. My second saturday night was also spent down at Motor. John Aquaviva was showing off his perfect mixing skills and also used that final scratch thing. I was quite interested to see how well the thing would work in person, and i have to admit that it wasn't bad. he didn't use it very much so it wasn't like he was relying on it. His show was also awsome...the only thing i wasn't digging was the electro-ish stuff. other then that it was awsome. then there is the fact that i bought $250 in records. i had to ship them home because i couldn't put them in my record bag. i got all kinds of good stuff and when i get more time i will review them and brag. i gotta go. JEFF!

His 2 remixes of John Tejada's "Genetical Love" on Defocus are sublime. Really well produced and as usual perfect detail to every sound. Every mix on that 12 is good actually, the 2 Skye mixes as well. That label is really focusing in on quality techno. Hi I've been running www.worldtechnonation.com for 2 months now and am looking for any feedback in order to develop the site further. The site has recieved a good number of hits, but so far very few people have entered the competition. Anyhow, the track got a really, really deep bass. There's a big break, in which only this really dark and deep continuous bass is left. I bet most of you know it, so I took the time and fopped up a short sample of what I remember (this bass in the break). Granted, it's as accurate as I remember it. Yes this DHJ on Archive is sweet. I am also loving this Dutch/Detroit/W.London synergy that is happening on labels like Delsin, Music for Speakers, the Rushhour crew, etc. The Delsin CD comp 'going thru life' is stellar, quality from start to finish. There's soulful electronics and broken beat experimentations, the Aardvarck material is really doing it for me at the moment, very different. Peel Seamus turns in more moody and deep techno, reminds of the Black Dog mood. Also good to see Ross154 with some new material, reminds me of the good old days of EevoLute. The Future Beat Alliance cut is very Detroity. Unfortunately the cim track on there is pure shite. DEMF gathering
Something I posted to the IDM list (so pardon the format), but it's just a thought... Last year some members from 313 gathered at Fishbones one night and Blue Nile the next for dinner. It gave people a chance to meet face to face and chat. We had some locals that acted as a "bass contact" of sorts so out of towners could call them for local help and see what was going on for meet ups. A lot of people on IDM overlap with those on 313, Analogue Heaven etc. it might be wise to organize (I'm not volunteering myself here) something in the vein that 313 did last year with an overlap of some of the lists. There's going to be a lot more people this year, and last year it was something that kind of came together at last minute. If we could get a head count-of people from JUST IDM (if you are on 313 too maybe include that info) who are planning on coming in that weekend (no maybes-just definite) and interested in a gathering of some sort and what night would be best (like perhaps Thursday or Friday night before the hoopla begins). just some suggestions. d __ Do You Yahoo!? must have electro
hi there think this was covered awhile back, unfortunately I can't find it in the archives. (if anybody can point me to the right place please do!) Found a man with an unbelievable electro collection and he's quite willing to copy anything I want onto cdr, but I don't know my arse from my elbow when it comes to electro. So I'm looking for suggestions for must have electro, never heard anything by Egyptian Lover but always see it name checked (also Jeff Mills played at his recent detroit gig), so keen to know their must have tracks. Plus any other electro which is 'essential'. If you want to email me back privately then please do! thanks jason

Okay Okay you didn't ask for specific releases but I'mma tell you anyway What about that double pack of Femi Kuti remixes that came out awhile back? I'd probably part with my copy. ;) Remixes by joe claussel and kerri c... and MAW. ... you always have the option of buying breaks records -- one notable one that comes to mind is Apache Rock on the 303 label... its definitely bongo heavy. /pt > > I'm looking to incorporate some heavy instrumental bongo driven funk tracks > > in with a mix and wondered if anyone knew of any tracks worth checking out. > > Not so much a specific release as a whole label: Ibadan Recordings out > of New York. I got that too [on vinyl and CD] but this is not what I'm referring to. This was a track I found on napster. The file is called "Disco Circus 1983 II - Giorgio Moroder Medley" Its really worth checking out... like an electro/disco mix. Its totally ahead of its time [then again most of his stuff back then was... along with the Telex dudes, Liasons Dangeruse, etc. etc.] Your thoughts? Anyone else heard this? /peter the second side of giorgio's 'from here to eternity'is kinda like a mega mix of five tracks or so. From: "Conway, Simon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Peter T.
