[313] Blaze - 25 Years Later - available on CD at . . . . . . .
Greetings Cats! Although it will be difficult, it's not impossible to find Blaze's 25 Years Later album on vinyl. However, if you check with www.NetSounds.com or www.GEMM.com, you will find a couple of stores who have limited copies of the CD in stock. I would always suggest you begin your search for classics at www.21centurymusic.com (New Jersey, USA). They have one of the best selections of EXTREMELY RARE pieces! The track listing for 25 Years Later is as follows: We Must All Live Together I Wonder Gonna Make It Work All That I Should Know Lover Man Missing You Get Up So Special Miss My Love You Don't Really Love Me Anything For Your Lovin' Released on Motown Records in 1990 Catalog number (vinyl) MOT-6301 Much respect to Timmy Regisford who was one of the project's executive producers. I hope this helps! peace respect, TP

Re: [313] Love's Got Me High
This version of LOVE'S GOT ME HIGH features a music sample from WOOD, BRASS STEEL's FUNK A NOVA. This mix of Love's Got Me High is on the Tribute EP. This record should be available throughout the UK, as I reissued this EP 2 months ago. Any record shop that doesn't have this record, can order it from Watts Music in New York City, USA - phone: 1.516.596.1888 / fax: 1.516.596.9881 www.WattsMusic.com In a message dated 12/12/00 6:21:09 AM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Can anyone tell me (TP?), what is the mix of Love's Got Me High that's got the smooth (but funky) guitar lick. It's pitch wheeled down every time it repeats with sort of string sounds. It's a sample from an older track I take it. The whole track has a nice rough feel. Anyway, more importantly - where can I score a copy?! cheers, Dan http://www.geocities.com/Paris/1267/index.html http://www.mp3.com/DanButler

Trancended / DET Party on December 8th, 2000
The issue between myself Trancended Productions / DET Productions has been resolved. I am not spinning at their event. This in no way should be interpreted as a negative reflection against Dillon, Erron, or those who are involved with their production companies in any manner. I wish Trancended DET Productions all of the very best for a safe successful event on the night of December 8th, 2000, as well as all of their future endeavors. peace respect, TP
Can Promoters DJs resolve their differences?
Greetings From TP! I am sharing the following information with this list in hopes that it will create a basis for positive dialog / discussion of how we as DJs Promoters work with each other to achieve the common goal of a banging party with a REAL RIGHT vibe! I especially hope that any aspiring / up-and-coming DJs and/or Promoters on this list will take away something valuable which they can use. Today Carl (the promoter behind the HOUSE EXPLOSION event) and I spoke regarding the controversy centered on the flyer for the HOUSE EXPLOSION 2000 event. This morning I sent an e-mail to which he responded by phone and agreed to ALL of my demands to resolve this issue of the improper use of my name. Today I received 11 e-mail letters from cats who see nothing wrong with a person's name being listed on a flyer as a SPECIAL INVITED GUEST. Furthermore, they asked why I was making such a big deal about it, and thought I should be honored by the invitation. Well, I was honored! But how fine is the honor if it is bitter sweet? I understand that many of us on this list are in various countries throughout the world where the laws governing such matters are different. However, being here in the USA, let me try to make my point by using an example . . . . . . . . . LET'S SAY I DECIDED TO THROW A PARTY AT THE STATE THEATER IN DETROIT ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT. I THEN DRAFT A LETTER OF INVITATION TO MICHAEL JACKSON. I THEN FAX THE LETTER TO MICHAEL JACKSON'S MANAGEMENT COMPANY. I NEVER GET A RESPONSE FROM MICHAEL JACKSON, OR ANY OF HIS REPRESENTATIVES. HOWEVER, I TAKE IT UPON MYSELF TO MAKE FLYERS ADVERTISING MY CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE STATE THEATER WITH SPECIAL INVITED GUEST - MICHAEL JACKSON! I ASK YOU, MY FRIENDS, HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WOULD TAKE BEFORE MICHAEL'S LEGAL TEAM WOULD TAKE ACTION AGAINST ME? WOULD I BE WRONG TO ADVERTISE MICHAEL'S NAME AS A SPECIAL INVITED GUEST? AFTER ALL, I DIDN'T SAY THAT HE WAS GOING TO PERFORM RIGHT? I DIDN'T EVEN SAY THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE THERE. ALL I SAID WAS THAT HE WAS A SPECIAL INVITED GUEST. IN FACT, I COULD PROVE THAT I DID INDEED INVITE MR. JACKSON BY PRESENTING THE LETTER ALONG WITH A COPY OF THE VERIFIED FAX TRANSMISSION TO MICHAEL'S MANAGEMENT WHICH STATES THAT I AM INVITING HIM TO ATTEND MY EVENT. SO I ASK YOU GOOD PEOPLE, IF MIKE, NOR HIS PEOPLE RESPOND TO MY INVITATION, DO I HAVE THE RIGHT TO USE HIS NAME IN ANY MANNER (EVEN AS A SPECIAL INVITED GUEST) IN PROMOTION OF MY EVENT? WHY DID I MAKE SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS? BECAUSE I HAVE TO TAKE A STAND ON WHAT I BELIEVE IS RIGHT, NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT AFFECTS ME, BUT BECAUSE SOMEDAY (IF NOT TODAY) IT COULD AFFECT YOU! MY POSITION WAS BASED UPON A PRINCIPLE WHICH IS PERSONAL TO ME, BUT COMMON TO ALL OF US. FOR THE RECORD DELANO SMITH FELT AS I DID, AND ALSO EXPRESSED HIS CONCERN OVER BEING LISTED ON THE FLYER. AS I UNDERSTAND IT, HE TOO HAS RESOLVED HIS ISSUE WITH THE PROMOTER. Peace Respect, TP www.TerrenceParker.com 1.248.784.7233
Jeff Mills TP on Thanksgiving Weekend - THE REAL STORY!
Greetings cats! I am taking time out of my busy schedule to write this e-mail because of a flyer which I received last night. This flyer is for the HOUSE EXPLOSION 2000 party scheduled to take place here in Detroit on Saturday, November 25th at the Majestic Theater. The flyer IMPLIES / INFERS that Delano Smith, Jeff Mills, and myself (TP) will be spinning this event along with the other scheduled DJs. The flyer reads as follows: House Explosion 2000 with sounds by house legends Rick The Godson Wilhite, Theo Parrish, Steve Crawford, Norm Talley, Keith Worthy, Al Ester . . . . PLUS SPECIAL INVITED GUESTS: Delano Smith, Jeff Mills, and Terrance Parker. Now beyond the obvious misspelling of my name, there is a much deeper attempt to deceive you good people with this flyer which is based upon an old school Detroit promotional trick which cats would use back when I was in high school in the 1980s. The promoter knows that just by putting our names on the flyer, that the word of mouth network here in Detroit will spread the word that we are all definitely spinning at this party. With all due and proper respect to my friends Rick, Theo, Norm, Keith, Al, Delano, and Jeff, I want to assure you that I, TERRENCE PARKER am NOT spinning at this event. I was asked to spin at this event while in the middle of my set at the beatdownsounds.com party two weeks ago. At that time, I told the promoter that I do NOT discuss business at clubs/parties, and that he should get with me AFTER I have finished my set so we could discuss a time when we could talk about his request. This cat tried to continue the conversation, even though I was CLEARLY in the act of performing my DJ set. Finally, I told this cat to leave the DJ booth. I never heard back from him, or heard anything else about this party until I received this flyer last night with my name on it. Furthermore, knowing JEFF as I do, I am sure he has NOTHING to do with this event. Jeff probably knows nothing about it. I also know that Jeff has specific feelings with regard to how his DJ bookings are handled (especially as they relate to events here in Detroit). I'm sure many of you on the 313 list, and cats here in Detroit remember the last big Jeff Mills controversy surrounding a Thanksgiving party here in Detroit (which was not Jeff's fault). So I have forwarded a copy of this e-mail to Jeff and his management. My guess is that Delano also did not commit to this event. Thus Delano, Jeff, and myself conveniently become know as special invited guest according to the flyer. Now maybe I'm wrong! Perhaps Jeff Delano are going to spin at this event. But knowing how the promoter approached me, and Steve Crawford, I seriously doubt it. I just want to make it clear that I AM NOT SPINNING AT THIS EVENT. I HAVE THE HIGHEST RESPECT FOR Rick Wilhite, Theo Parrish, Steve Crawford, Norm Talley, Keith Worthy, Al Ester, Delano Smith, AND Jeff Mills. I SUPPORT THEM! I DO NOT SUPPORT, NOR WILL I ENDORSE THIS EVENT IN ANYWAY. These cats had no authorization to use my name in ANY MANNER in connection with their event. ON THAT SAME NOTE, the Trancended cats behind the Won't You Be My Neighbor party on DEC 8 2000 in Detroit, have also used my name without my authorization. Their E-Flyer courtesy of the ravedata.com site reads as follows: With performances by Craig Gonzalez, Terrence Parker, Derek Plaisako, CDX, Whistleboi, Saul Good, Legal Alien, Interzone, Tom Linder, Big Loda Again, with all due respect to T.Linder, Derek, CDX and the other DJs involved with this event, I want to make it clear that I am NOT spinning at this event. These cats had no authorization to use my name in ANY MANNER in connection with their event. This matter regarding both the November 25th and December 8th events is now in the hands of my legal team. Any further attempts to misappropriate my name and/or likeness will not be tolerated. peace respect, TP www.TerrenceParker.com 1.248.784.7233

A short message from TP regarding Australian Tour Euphoria Sundays
Greetings! It is with the absolute deepest regret that I must cancel my trip to Australia. I have been looking forward to coming to Australia for many years. However, I was placed in a very difficult position which forced me to make a firm decision to cancel this tour. Perhaps one day I will get the honor to finally be able to share my musical vibe on Australian soil. It is with further disappointment and regret that I must inform you that Steve Crawford and I have decided to make Sunday October 29th (The Euphoria Halloween Party) our FINAL NIGHT at Club Karma. This decision was primarily mine with Steve in full agreement and support of my decision. I will continue to spin each Sunday night thru the 29th. Derrick May Eclipse in Lansing last night
Before I became known as a DJ, I was known for being a good dancer. Back in the days of Detroit's own Music Institute, I use to enjoy dancing to the sounds of Derrick May because he didn't just play records. Instead, he created music with music. He created rhythms with pre-recorded rhythms. When I arrived in Lansing, Michigan last night, I had no idea that Mr. May was going to take me back to those good old days. Simply put, DERRICK put on (what we as DJs use to call back in the day) a clinic, and schooled everyone on how to properly bang out some techno. He made me want to go out and buy at least 3 records that he played last night. Not just for the records themselves, but rather in the way Derrick presented them. It's the way a DJ presents the music to the audience that makes the difference. I use the Bill Cosby classic example to illustrate my point ... imagine that you are in a restaurant waiting to enjoy your favorite meal with all of the trimmings and side dishes that make your mouth water in anticipation of what delight your tongue will soon enjoy. As the wait staff approach the table with your dinner, you can smell the pleasant scents of this delicious meal. However, when the waiter or waitress places the meal on the table, you discover that your delicious meal has been served to you on a garbage can lid. The question now is, do you still feel like eating? How can you eat after that? My point is this . . . YOU CAN OFFER THE VERY BEST, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT'S THE PRESENTATION THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE! Too many times, DJs play some of the hottest tunes, but still don't move the crowd. Why? Because the music itself cannot stand alone. If this were the case, why pay DJs at all? Clubs could save enormous amounts of money on just playing CD compilations all night. When you go to a party or club event, you expect to hear great music. You don't expect to have it presented to you on a garbage can lid. Last night, Derrick showed how to properly SET THE TABLE and SERVE THE MUSIC to a HUNGRY audience! I watched listened to Derrick's set at the DEMF, and on that summer night he certainly showed the world why he is a world class DJ. Last night, Derrick showed a 1000 people in Lansing why I use to dance all night to his sets at the Music Institute. The only other musical highlight for me was watching listening to Eclipse bang the box! Again, it's all about the presentation. I've seen Eclipse do his thing several times before, but last night he was certainly at the top of his game. Great set last night fellas! Way to bang `em out Detroit style! Many thanx much respect to my friends fans of the LANSING CREW who made me and my friends (TONE TRACKMASTER LOU of SCAN 7) feel so welcomed last night! peace respect, TP p.s. No disrespect intended to other DJs, but just because you can scratch and / or possess other turntable skills doesn't necessarily mean that you can rock a crowd. It's all in the presentation! By the way, I hope someone recorded these sets last night!
Lansing Electronic Music Festival?
Does anyone know about a Lansing Electronic Music Festival going on this coming weekend?
TP's No Show @ Time To Shine Party
Greetings Cats! I want to apologize to Greg of Biokidd Productions, and all of my friends and fans who were disappointed that I did not appear at the TIME TO SHINE Party last night in Detroit. I want to make it clear that my not showing up for last night's event was my fault entirely! PLEASE DO NOT HOLD BIOKIDD PRODUCTIONS RESPONSIBLE. I alone take full responsibility for what happened. It's always been a pleasure for me to perform at Biokidd events. Greg and his crew have always been very professional and accommodating towards me. We are discussing a POSSIBLE make up performance in November. IF THIS DATE IN NOVEMBER GETS CONFIRMED, I WILL MAKE A SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION MIX CD, AND GIVE AWAY 100 COPIES THAT NIGHT. It is not my normal practice to MISS confirmed DJ dates. Again, I am very sorry for disappointing so many of you who were there to see hear me spin. peace respect, Terrence (TP) Parker
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY FROM SHAKE's BENEFIT PARTY
Hello everyone! 100% of the door money goes to Shake. NONE OF THE DJ's ARE GETTING PAID. WE ARE ALL DJing For FREE in honor and out of respect for the urgent needs of our friend. I believe the cost is between $7 $10 dollars for entry. Mr. Al. Oldham would no more about the exact amount for entry. Please forgive me for not knowing this information. I have not DJ'ed a set at Motor since January of this year so I am not aware of the exact amount for entry. Furthermore, I want to make it clear that I, TERRENCE PARKER cannot and will not take any credit for the planning or preparation of this event in any manner. I know that many people have assumed that I organized this benefit for Shake because of my other charitable contributions in the past. If anyone deserves the TRUE credit for taking the LEAD role in putting this event together in honor of our good friend Shake, it's AL Oldham, DJ T-1000. He simply asked me if I would like to participate, and I quickly said YES. My focus has been on preparing an awesome set to honor and pay tribute to my friend Shake, and on spreading the word so that Shake will have a packed house and leave with PHAT POCKETS this Saturday night. So if anyone has any questions regarding the specifics of this event, I respectfully ask that they be directed to AL as he could better answer your questions. :-) peace respect, TP

MANY OF YOU WHO ARE NOT IN THE DETROIT AREA HAVE ASKED HOW YOU MAY CONTRIBUTE TO SHAKE'S MEDICAL FUND. I UNFORTUNATELY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER BANK INFORMATION AT THIS TIME. Re: [313] Stevie Wonder Track ID
This record is a bootleg mix: Stevie Wonder vs. The Kleptomaniacs. It was originally thought to be mixed by Bob Sinclair (as is stickered on the copies I now own), but this was a mistake made by several distributors. There are actually more than 25 different records that I know of which include a sample from Stevie Wonder's All I Do. But the one you are thinking of is a completely reworked version of the ORIGINAL track. I'm currently having mad fun bangin' doubles when I'm on the set. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A SIMILAR REWORKED VERSION OF STEVIE WONDER'S IF. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD GET IT FROM RELEASE THE GROOVE IN LONDON ENGLAND. BUT I HAVEN'T HAD ANY REAL LUCK GETTING MY HANDS ON ANY COPIES YET. :-) TP www.TerrenceParker.com In a message dated 8/16/00 12:47:42 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Greetings, I've been hearing a new remix of All I Do by Stevie Wonder lately. Loleatta Holloway ~ Stand Up
I forgot to mention that the Loleatta Holloway Dreaming remixes were re-titled, STAND UP and was originally available as a vinyl box set.
Stevie Wonder's IF bootleg, and other classics.
Greetings Cats! I am trying to get my hands on a copy of Stevie Wonder's IF bootleg remix. I am also looking for the 12inch of The Isley Brother's Harvest For The World (must be in mint condition). This next request is going to sound crazy, but in 1994, I did a remix of Loleatta Holloway's Dreaming along with Andrew Komix which was released on Six/6 Sony UK. My last two copies of this record were lost/stolen during a trip to Spain when Singapore Airlines lost my records. I need this record not just for my mix, but for Andrew's smokin' hot version. I need at least two (2) copies of each record, and I am willing to pay TOP DOLLAR for them. Anyone with info, please e-mail me privately at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] THANX! Welcome To Summer Madness!
Terrence Parker and friends present a new experience for those 18 and older, who TRULY believe that MUSIC Is The Key Of Life! The summer madness begins tomorrow evening (July 6, 2000) at 9 o' clock PM. The location is BACHI ABRACCI @ 40 W. Pike Street in downtown Pontiac Michigan USA (PLENTY of PARKING available). Warning: We invite everyone to come and get high off the music. However, drugs are NOT welcome because they distort (not enhance) our vibe! If you have no concept of soul spirit in music, then the vibes presented will be beyond your comprehension. Music interpreters will NOT be on hand to explain it to you! Either you'll catch the vibe, or you wont! www.hometeamdetroit.com ph: 248-332-4139

TP's says goodbye to TONIC!
Greetings Cats! DJ George Morel and I blew up the spot at Dockland in Muenster Germany on Saturday, June 24th 2000. On Sunday, June 25th 2000, I flew back from Duesseldorf Germany to Newark USA, and was scheduled to connect there and fly from Newark, NJ to Detroit, MI. Unfortunately, two separate events made this suddenly impossible: 1st -- there was a collision on the runway between two airplanes (which has been all over the national news). 2nd -- bad weather These two things combined resulted in the cancellation of 25 flights (including mine). I was REALLY looking forward to making this past Sunday my last DJing at Tonic, and of course sharing those final moments with all of you. I was moved once I learned that many of you came out to Tonic this past Sunday with your TP Home Team T-shirts on! (That Was Very DEEP). I am sorry that I was not there to see that, and share in those moments. June 18th, 2000 was my last night DJing at TONIC Night Club located at 29 south Saginaw Street in downtown Pontiac Michigan. To end all of the various rumors floating around Detroit . . . . Tonic was officially sold last Tuesday, June 13th, 2000. Although the new owners wanted me to stay, after careful thought, I decided not to accept their offer. There are so many details to this story, I could easily be typing for hours trying to explain it all. As much as I want to share all of the DRAMA with you cats, much of the information is very sensitive. So to be fair to all persons involved, I will not discuss any of the details. The bottom line is the vibe has completely changed, and I am no longer comfortable at TONIC. For this reason, I have decided the time has come for me to move on. I can assure you that this was not an easy decision for me to make. I am not asking anyone to stop supporting and enjoy Sunday nights at Tonic. However, for those who are interested, I am working on another spot where we can all gather and continue to share the vibe of the music, but the details have not been finalized yet. I hope that things will be in place soon, so that we can all continue to celebrate musical freedom in my new location very soon. (PERHAPS EACH AND EVERY THURSDAY? STAY TUNED) TO MY FANS AND FRIENDS, I want to thank each of you for supporting my vibe; which is actually OUR VIBE. Your support of my efforts has helped me grow personally, professionally, and musically. There is no way I can repay you for what you have given to me over the past 18 months. I hope you will be satisfied knowing that I gave 100% of myself to you each and every Sunday night at Velvet / Tonic, and I will continue to do so in the future. Special thanx to Rob Potter, who hired me and believed in my vibe week after week when I was playing music for less than 20 people when I first started Sundays at the Velvet Lounge in February 1999. I also want to thank Aaron, Marc, Dallas, Eric, Maria, Mountain, David, Doobie, and all of the bar staff, security staff, and DJs. It has been an honor to work with each of you. If you enjoyed the music this past Sunday, then you'll be happy to know that DJs Justin Acari, and Hugh C will continue the vibe each Sunday at Tonic. peace respect, TP
TP and the DEMF
Greetings 313 family! Remember the drama caused due to a misunderstanding of the e-mail I wrote concerning my not DJing at the DEMF? Well, it's all love now! It's all been cleared up and it's all good. People are often too quick to talk about the mistakes which were made, and slow to speak about when cats resolve their differences and come together. I just wanted to let you all know that this particular situation, WE came together! If that doesn't symbolize the powerful afterglow and awesome spirit from this year's Detroit Electronic Music Festival, nothing will! peace respect, Terrence (TP) Parker

Terrence Parker / DEMF
Greetings Cats! Over the past few days, I have received several e-mail letters asking why I was not DJing at this year's DEMF. I hope this will answer everyone's questions. I was asked approximately at the end of April if I was available to spin on Saturday, May 27th, or Sunday, May 28th. Unfortunately, I was unable to accept this invitation because I was already scheduled to spin at the Stammhiem Club in Kassel, Germany. Upon my return from Germany on Sunday, May 28th, I planned on only spinning my resident night at Tonic. However, I did offer to spin on Monday, May 29th. Although there were still many slots that still had not been filled (listed as TBA), I was never offered one of the open slots for Monday. Lenny of 430West Records asked me about spinning at their 10 year anniversary party back in March (before this year's Winter Music Conference). I was also approached by the cats of the Motor Lounge around WMC time to participate with the DEMF on their stage. But the booking to spin in Germany was made in December of `99, and I wanted to honor my commitments. Unfortunately for me, there were some circumstances beyond my control which forced the cancellation of my appearance at Stammhiem. Once the word got out that I was going to be home, I was asked by Meighan Alvin to participate in the Music Retailer's tent (where I could sell Intangible/TP music). But there wasn't enough time for me to properly prepare to set up a booth, so I had to decline the offer. I was also asked by Linda G to spin at Science for the one of the DEMF pre-parties. But I suggested that Linda give the spot to an up and coming cat who she felt deserved a chance. I was asked to be on stand by to fill in for Juan Atkins in case he didn't show up. I never heard anything else about that, so I assumed that Juan was there (although I have heard conflicting stories). Then on Monday, May 29th, there was a small, but powerful (internal) campaign to allow me to spin on the Motor Stage from 8PM to 10PM. Unfortunately, those efforts were defeated because the sound company's equipment on that stage was only insured up until 8PM (Hmmm)! Even though I was not scheduled to spin or participate in this year's DEMF, I still promoted this event during my 2nd appearance on Much Music's (Canada's MTV) Electric Circus Dance Show, which resulted in Much Music sending a crew down to cover the event and interview several of the artists and DJs. The only people who thanked me for what I did was Barbara (of Pop Culture Media) and Rob Theakston (of Planet E). I am not angry or upset about not being included in this year's DEMF for several reasons. But the main reason is because this event is bigger than any ONE person anyway. I am very fortunate to be able to travel all over the world. I have had many moments to shine under the sun. It was great to see cats like Al Ester, Minx, and Mike Clark finally get their day in the sun. There's enough SUNSHINE for everyone. If you let Flashlight play out to the end, it clearly states, Everybody's got a little light, under the SUN. Besides, there's always next year. Maybe I'll be asked to participate again in 2001. But at least I was asked to participate this year. Regarding Al Oldham, it should be obvious that the man was hurt. It's not just about the music the man has made. He did a lot of things behind the scenes to help many cats in Detroit (including Carl Craig). I don't know what went into the decision making process for the DEMF, or the 430West party. I don't believe that anyone involved with the DEMF or 430West meant any harm or disrespect towards T-1000. The surprising thing to me is how several people on the 313 List who seemed to have supported Al in the past, have now turned and are now so malicious towards him? Cats who praised his album on Tresor are now dogging his music. Cats who supported Al's views in the past are now blasting him for his comments. Keep in mind that he didn't post his views on this list or any other list. What he did was simply say if you want to know my point of view, you may read about it on my website. Now at the end of the day, the man has the right to express his opinion on his site. I haven't see one post where someone asked Al WHY he feels the way that he does. Instead, cats seem to be more quick to pass judgment. It's easier to judge information at the surface, rather than to search deeper for the truth. I am not defending what Al said. I am not trying to get into that drama so don't get it twisted! Instead, I am defending his right to express his point of view! There were many others like K. Hand, Alton Miller, Rob Hood, and countless others who should have been involved this year. I am certain that everyone was considered. Just like I was booked, I am certain that others might have already been scheduled for other events. But I still saw people at the DEMF like K. Hand with a glowing smile on her face.
Terrence Parker's Sunday night DJing clarification (2nite - May 28th)
1st - RESPECT to the DEMF! Re: [313] Tracks so good...-ID please! (JACKSON 5)
The track is called, Forever Came Today by the Jackson 5. It's the first track on side one on their album entitled Moving Violation. The hit single from this album is a ballad called All I Do Is Think Of You. This is a very easy way of referencing this album via song title search engines. The Moving Violation album was released in 1975. The was a limited edition 12 inch of Forever Came Today release in 1979. Both the album, and the 12 inch single are extremely rare. But if you look hard enough in a few rare groove shops, I'm certain you'll find it! GOOD LUCK! peace respect, TP In a message dated 5/25/2000 11:57:54 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: I was listening to Ron Hardy's mix Live @ The Muzik Box 1986 again from the Deep house music page, and I almost went unconsious from hearing one of the BEST, most unbelievable tracks ever!!! Sunday's after party at Science has been canceled / Classic TP Mix Vol. #10
Greetings Cats! Last night I received word that the after party scheduled for this coming Sunday, May 28th 2000 at Club Science has been canceled. This event is currently being moved to a different location. I will update all of you as soon as this info is made available to me. Those of you who were lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Classic TP Mix Volume 10 Double CD package last weekend at Tonic may experience some problems playing the CDs, or may notice some distortion on programs 16 and 17. Please bring your copy back to the club, and I will give you a new copy. I truly value and appreciate your support of the Classic TP series, and I apologize for any inconveniences you've experienced. peace respect, TP

I don't have much time to share with you cats all that went on at this year's Winter Music Conference (I'll do that later). But in this short e-mail I want to express my sympathy to the family friends of the shooting victim who died last Friday night / Saturday morning at one of the parties here in Detroit. I don't know enough about what happened to comment specifically, but I would like to say that we need to get back to love. I mean REALLY LOVING EACH OTHER, rather than continue the pattern of disconnection which will eventually destroy us all. If you really believe in PEACE, LOVE, UNITY, and RESPECT, then live it each moment of everyday. I love you all! peace respect, TP
(313) What a difference a day makes! Australia here I come - CONFIRMED!
Greetings Cats! 1st - THE TP IN AUSTRALIA DJ TOUR (MAY 2000) HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!!! Boy what a difference a day makes. The promoters and I have resolved all pending issues and the tour is now 100% confirmed! I am so excited about this because it will be my very first trip to the beautiful land down under. I received so many wonderfully kind e-mails from fans in Australia regarding this tour, and I am happy to let you all know that it is ON LIKE POPCORN now baby! There are some tour dates which might change, but I will keep you updated as these changes occur. My only regret is disappointing the promoters who wanted to book me for parties here in Detroit, and elsewhere in America and Europe based upon the cancellation of the tour. I have spoken to all persons involved, and I have been assured that all is good among us! :-) 2nd - I want to thank everyone who braved the ice and 6 inches of snow to come out to CHARMED this past Saturday in Cleveland. I really want to thank Casey Grim and everyone with Delicious Productions for their super cool hospitality. I also have to thank my friends Heather, Julia, and Sarah (all from Cleveland), Craig, Rebecca Sasha who drove all the way from Pittsburgh, and Akron's ever sweet Ms.Tami Hanna Co. for coming out in such terrible weather to see this cat from Detroit spin some HOUSE MUSIC! Much love and respect to all of you! 3rd - I want to thank everyone who came out to support my record release party at the Velvet Lounge last night. Your support was overwhelming, and I want each of you to know that I absolutely appreciate the love! For those of you who were not there, I gave away 50 copies of I Wanna FFU b/w Love's Got Me High on limited edition WHITE Vinyl. I also gave away 100 copies of the limited edition TP LIVE FROM THE MELODIES MEMORIES DANCE ZONE GRAND OPENING PARTY CD! I have to give props to Steve Crawford who sent the house roaring last night along with DJ Don Q who cut's the music with so much class . . . . . well . . . . What else can I say Detroit playas like DJ Ray Bone, DJ Disco D, The Mole, DJ Jeff Woodward, and Brian Sandwiches Gilespie were among the elite members in attendance. And for those of you wondering about the lovely and charming ladies in the back room, they were recruiting volunteers to help with the upcoming Detroit Electronic Dance Music Festival which is chaired by Mr. Planet E himself - Carl Craig. By the end of the night they had signed over 80 volunteers to assist with this event! Great job ladies! I Wanna FFU b/w Love's Got Me High will officially be available this coming Wednesday, March 15th 2000. For those here in the Detroit area, you can get your copy today at RecordTime (810-775-1550) or Melodies Memories (810-774-8480). If you are a buyer and want this record in your store, right now your best bet is to contact WATTS MUSIC (516-596-9771), or RENEGADE RHYTHMS (503-973-1806). 4th - I will now be spinning 4 events during this years Winter Music Conference in Miami. In addition to spinning at the O Bar with my Detroit homie DJ Disco D on Tuesday night (March 28th), I'll also be spinning earlier that afternoon at the Green Galactic Sweet Suite Party within the Radisson Hotel (site for the WMC this year). I do not have my set times yet for any of these events, but as stated before, I will update you once I have this info. FYI: I have been swamped with requests to attend the Boat/Yacht Party on Monday, March 27th. To all those who've inquired about this fabulous event, I should have more details regarding space availability and other relevant details soon. To my friend from Hamburg Germany, I cannot confirm the rumor about any naked girls sailing on this boat! Finally - Look out for the SPECIAL TP FAN CLUB RECORD/CD Giveaway coming soon (for TP Fan List members only). Also coming soon, CLASSIC TP MIX CD Vol. # 9 (THE WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE EDITION). peace respect, (I love y'all for real) TP Terrence Parker's DJ calendar January thru June 2000 January (2000) : Sunday 2nd - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Saturday 8th - Hard Waters Party ~ DETROIT (USA) Sunday 9th - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Thursday 13th - P1 Party ~ TORONTO (CANADA) Saturday 15th - Halcyon Focus Party ~ GUELPH (CANADA) Sunday 16th - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Saturday 22nd - Motor Lounge ~ DETROIT (USA) Sunday 23rd - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Saturday 29th - BTM Productions Party ~ DETROIT (USA) Sunday 30th - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) February (2000) : Friday 4th - The Real D Party ~ DETROIT (USA) Sunday 6th - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Friday 11th - Club Karma ~ FERNDALE (USA) Sunday 13th - Velvet Lounge ~ PONTIAC (USA) Wednesday 16th - Spun Party ~ PITTSBURGH (USA) Saturday 19th - Tough Guy Party ~ DETROIT (USA) Sunday 20th - Heart to Heart Party ~ ROCHESTER (USA) Friday 25th - Dance Zone Grand Opening Party EAST POINTE (USA) Saturday 26th - Mirage Party ~
(313) A message to my fans in Australia
Greetings cats! Unfortunately, another attempt to bring the TP vibe to the land down under has failed. I am truely sorry that things did not work out, but I assure you that I did my absolute best to accomodate those persons involved with this particlar effort to bring me to Australia. For reasons that I am still not quite sure about, it just didn't come together properly. I want to thank everyone who sent me e-mail messages regarding this planned tour. I truly appreciate your kind words or welcome. Perhaps one day soon I'll get there. peace respect, TP
Re: (313) 2 track EP's SUCK! - TP's response to T-1000
To my homie - Mr. Al Oldam (aka Mr. Dj T-1000), MUCH RESPECT FOR BREAKING IT DOWN!!! I was going to respond in simular fashion, but after reading your response, I can relax and finish watchin' the LAKERS beat the HEAT! WELL SAID MY BROTHA! :-) peace respect, TP In a message dated 3/5/2000 3:43:24 PM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: In a message dated 3/5/00 3:23:30 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: however, I get the feeling that when an artist releases an EP with only two tracks on it that a) they don't have any other material or b)they're trying to cash in! or both! Am I right? First of all, I'm annoyed when records with only 2 tracks are referred to by anyone as EPs. Wrong ! They're 12s ! Three or more tracks per disc constitute an EP. I also hate it when somebody puts out a 2x12 and refers to it as an EP. Wrong ! It's a double-pack ! (the only difference between a double-pack and an album is a full album cover). Nomenclature aside, I'd rather buy a 12 w/ 2 loud, fat-ass tracks than a 4-song EP where only one or two of the tracks are any good. We've all been there (and I've probably put a few out). a. PS. Assuming anyone on the list actually listens to techno anymore, the new Sender Berlin remix EP on Tresor is a motherfucker.
(313) In The Beginning There Was Jack, And Jack Had A Groove . . . . .
I can't believe how some people on this list continue to put out incorrect information. It is now obvious that some cats simply Can't Handle The Truth! But for those TRUE brothas sistas who thirst for truth and knowledge, here is the real deal: The ORIGINAL VERSION of the famous speech In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groove . . . . is by ITALO ECSTASY. The track is entitled MY HOUSE, and was ORIGINALLY released on XYZ RECORDS late in the year 1986. Yes, it was used as a vocal drop on top of many instrumental recordings over the years, including Mr. Fingers' CAN YOU FEEL IT. But don't get it twisted ladies and gentlemen. The Mr. Fingers' version (which was originally a BOOTLEG) is NOT WHERE THIS SPEECH ORIGINATED FROM! Changing the subject, did anyone else see the quick news story on WDIV (channel 4) 11:00PM News Cast on Thursday night (March 2nd)??? They talked about a police under cover probe which has been on going for 4 months at the Motor Lounge. They arrested four people for dealing drugs. I'm just curious if anyone else saw this, and if so, why no one else has mentioned it on this list? peace respect, TP
(313) let there be house! - THE REAL DEAL!
OK - enough is enough! Here's the deal cats: 1st - the speach that everyone is talking about is from a track called MY HOUSE which was released in the mid `80s. 2nd - the track by Mr. Fingers is Can You Feel It. 3rd - the only OFFICIAL SPEACH associated with CAN YOU FEEL IT was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's I Have A Dream speach which was on the import remix. This also featured the sample from THE JACKSONS' live version of CAN YOU FEEL IT. 4th - there was a BOOTLEG version of CAN YOU FEEL IT with the MY HOUSE speach on it. 5th - Todd Terry's Can You Feel It also used the same JACKSONS' vocal sample. The music stabs were sampled from Marshall Jefferson's classic HOUSE MUSIC ANTHEM. 6th - Todd Terry's Can You Party was simply a seperate version of his Can You Feel It, both of which were huge anthems worldwide! I must say that it is quite refreshing to see cats on this list SEEKING knowledge for once! MUCH RESPECT! In a message dated 3/2/2000 10:21:10 AM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Hello again, Since you guys were so good on the whole let there be house thing, perhaps you can help me out again? I promise it won't be too painful. Way way way back, oh say about 1984-1985 or so, WJLB used to play a track that I must own. It's sampled in an RB track that's out at the moment. Anyway, the lyrics go if you wanna ride, ride the white horse. This song was huge back then, and most everyone I know has heard it, but no one knows who did it or what the title is. Sorry for yet another track id, but hey, who else can i ask? :-) thanks and love, jim White Horse ~ Laid Back - SIRE RECORDS It was re-issued on RAMS HORN and UniDisc Records in the early to mid 90's.
(313) My gratitude and apology - Velvet Lounge last night!
Greetings cats! 1st - I must say that I was complete overwhelmed by the ultra warm reception I received on my return to Velvet last night. I have love for each one of you, and I want you to know that I was truly moved by your kind welcome, and thoughtful show of appreciation at the end of the night. Y'all was tryin' to make a brother break down and cry last night! :-) I was certainly touched with emotion, and I hope you all accept my genuine gratitude! 2nd - In a brief moment of frustration last night, I responded to one less appreciative individual regarding the vibe and education on a DETROIT TECHNO CLASSIC by say saying, I don't need to shut up `cause this is my house! Well, I WAS WRONG FOR SAYING THAT FOR SEVERAL REASONS: a) That statement simply is not true. And if there were ever a night on which this was more evident, it was last night! The simple truth of the matter is that it is (and I quote) OUR HOUSE, AND OUR HOUSE MUSIC. AND YOU SEE, NO ONE MAN OWNS HOUSE, BECAUSE HOUSE IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE SPOKEN AND UNDERSTOOD BY ALL. b) As a seasoned professional, I should have handled that situation much better. I had NO RIGHT to lay claim to such an idea as MY HOUSE because each one of us share in the VIBE that makes Sundays at Velvet what it is, and that includes everyone from the management, to the security, to the bar staff. So I hope you all will accept my humble apology! By the way, here's the info on the record which I was playing at the time which was the indirect subject of the controversy: KREEM ~ Triangle Of Love - METROPLEX RECORDS (a true Detroit classic) peace respect, TP

Re: (313) Re: Detroit House - TP's LONG RESPONSE!
HERE BEGINS THE LESSON! You know I truly appreciate Vince, Matt, and others who acknowledge my influence on the Detroit House music scene. I am also disappointed that my efforts and accomplishments along with those of my friends colleagues here in Detroit are constantly over looked by most cats on this list when they speak about DETROIT HOUSE. I don't expect everyone to dig the records that I make! However, I do want to be acknowledged for my contributions to this scene which I've helped to create (at the absolute very least). Yes, I can say that I did (along with Kevin Saunderson, Mike Banks, D-Ha, K-Hand, MK {Yeah - even though he moved to NYC, he still did that smoking hot remix for Chez on KMS - so let's keep it real} The Burden Brothers/430west, Derrick over at Soiree, Shake {which nobody ever mentions on this list in reference to his HOUSE productions}, Dan Bell, John Acquaviva, Davina, Buzz Bangin' Goree, Mike Agent X Clark, The Preps, Claude Young, Al Ester, Stacey Hale, Ken Collier, Darryl Shannon, MESU Audio, Ray Wells, Dwayne IN THE MIX Bradley, Electrifying Mojo, Barry Michaelton Grant who hosted the first late night mix show in Detroit on WJLB, Gary Chandler now on FM 98 {not Kerry Chandler from NYC}, Ray Berry, Joe Boyer, Patrice Scott, Cecil Sheppard, Earl McKinney, Kim James, Karen Mack, DJ Minx, Delano Smith, John Johnson, Tink Thomas, Gari Romalis, REDFORD HIGH SCHOOL PARTIES, SOUTHFIELD HIGHSCHOOL PARTIES, HENRY FORD HIGH SCHOOL PARTIES, CASS TECH HIGH SCHOOL PARTIES, DIRECT DRIVE PARTIES, DEEP SPACE PARTIES, SUPERMAN/LOIS LANE PARTIES, MOTOWN VARSITY SQUAD, CHAPS, WEEKENDS, SUCCESS, RUMOURS, COLLEAGUES, CHEEKS, CLUB UBQ, COTTON CLUB, PRIMADONA, TIMES SQUARE, THE SCENE, THE NEW DANCE SHOW, and several others) all helped to create this DETROIT HOUSE scene as you all know it today. There are so many cats on this list who claim to be authorities on OUR HOUSE SCENE. You cats always ONLY mention KDJ or THEO Parrish like they are the only two cats here. In contrast, I offer out the following info: 1st - In the year ending 1994 thru early 1995, my label INTANGIBLE RECORDS was the only DETROIT label CONSISTENTLY releasing HOUSE MUSIC! During that period, sales were extremely low for most HOUSE Productions from Detroit, so many labels like 430West, Happy Records Simply Soul Records (which eventually merged into HAPPY SOUL), dramatically slowed, or completely stopped releasing House music. Soiree, Acacia, and others were putting out HOUSE tracks here and there along with techno releases, but NOBODY could touch my output of HOUSE Releases. 2nd - My second hit Love's Got Me High was released in August of 1995. In addition to becoming a POP hit in The Netherlands, France, and Germany by early 1996, it had the most local success during 1995/1996 right along side The Chuck Chuck SONG (Scott's track). In fact, when other Detroit techno house artists were fighting to get local radio stations to play their music (which is why Juan started the short lived Deep Space Radio on WGPR), there were only two local underground records being played in a class A rotation (meaning 8 to 10 spins per day). Guess which records they were? The Chuck Chuck Song and my house classic Love's Got Me High (and I've got the publishing checks to prove it). Love's Got Me High was the most requested track at Northland Roller-skating Rink (that means it was a hit in THE HOOD y'all). Thus, this record was being sold at local neighborhood record shops like Damons, Detroit Audio, Chauncey's, Tonya's, Buy Rite (yeah Cliff even paid me up front if you can believe that), in addition to Recordtime and Melodies and Memories. The only other labels that I know off who can say the sell records IN THE HOOD are DIRECT BEAT, ASSAULT RIFFLE, DATABASS, and other ELECTRO labels! Love's Got Me High made so much noise to whereas cats who had given up on HOUSE from Detroit soon began releasing House productions again. 3rd - Most cats throughout the world never even heard of Kenny Dixion Jr until I re-release his original EMOTIONAL CONTENT along with my remix on Intangible (INT-509). And don't lie and say you were on his shit before that because he only sold a maximum of 300 units of each of his first couple releases before that (most of which never made it to Europe). I was the one who promoted his TRIBUTE To Marvin Gaye record which became his first widely known release from his KDJ label. The licensing offers which he received for that record came in from labels like Deconstruction and MCA in the UK because I sent his promos out to my friends at these labels as a favor to Kenny. They didn't know shit about Kenny before that! In fact, several cats refused to believe he was from Detroit and swore he was from NYC. But real ones know about Kenny's days as a Dj for local Detroit rapper K-Stone! BUT JUST TO BE CLEAR ON THIS SHIT . . . I am not saying that I MADE KDJ who he is

(313) TP, The Velvet Lounge, KRS One Party.
Greetings Cats! 1st - I want to send out a massive THANK YOU to all who came out to the Velvet Lounge this past Sunday. I had an idea that it might be off the hook due to the ARTS, BEATS, EATS crowd, but I didn't expect it to be OFF THE CHAINS!! The club was more than half full at 9PM. By midnight it was so packed that we had to open the upstairs penthouse. At 12:30AM all three floors were packed to capacity to the point where the police would not allow us to let anyone else in. DAMN!!! Don Q was in his usual smokin' hot style in the basement to the point where the floor, the walls, and the records were sweating! But who was that cat he let get some table time around 10:30PM??? Anybody know??? Dude had mad skillz He broke out this scratch pattern that would have made Q-Bert, Craze, and Vin Roc proud (and that's the best compliment I can give `em). Dj Billy Bob started off the main floor in place of the vacationing JUS PAIGE (U Shoulda Been Here Girl) Billy Bob had them going with the deep techno style then making the smooth transition into house. The only bad point in his set was the drunk lady who kept requesting Tone Loc's Funky Cold Madina throughout his set (we had a good laugh about this one). As I said earlier, by 12:30AM all three floors were packed to capacity. Since there was no dj in the penthouse, we had the music I was spinnin' on the main floor wired to play at full volume in the penthouse. Cats were dance to my vibe on both floors at the same time (a sight to see experience)!!! Madd props and thanks to Billy Bob for comin' down, and of course madd props to Don Q for doin; his thang (as usual)! But most certainly, props goes out to all of you who came out to make last night one of my best nights at the Velvet Lounge (what a way to end the summer). 2nd - I want to clear up some confusion about the KRS One party this past Friday. I was asked to play at this party months ago, but the promoter waited to long to get back with me to confirm this date. As the cats on my TP FAN Club list know, I was scheduled to play in Toronto at the Soul Shack Party on Friday September 3rd. In fact, the Soul Shack party was for charity, and so I played for FREE, even though I was offered money to play at the KRS One party. The bottom line is that the cats involved didn't handle their business properly - which brings me to another issue. It's my understanding that MY NAME was printed on flyers and advertised in the METRO TIMES for the KRS One party. I haven't seen this for myself, but I am asking that anyone who has a copy of the flyer or Metro Times to please fax a copy to me at 1-248-435-2983 or 1-810-816-0232 ASAP. I do not appreciate my name being used in connection with any event without my permission! I apologize to any of my fans and loyal supporters who came down to this event thinking that I was going to appear. For those of you who want to know for certain where and when I am scheduled to play, you should join my TP Fan Club List (send SUBSCRIBE in the message and subject areas of your e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]). If a party is not listed on my calendar, then it has not been confirmed! I handle 90% of my bookings myself, and all parties made through booking agents are authorized by me personally FIRST. So don't let anyone tell you that TP's booking agent confirmed it, and perhaps just hasn't told TP yet because I don't do business like that. I want to thank all of those who informed me about this last night at the Velvet. In the future, if anyone has a question about my djing at a certain club or event, please feel welcome to ask and I'll gladly tell you if it's a legitimate booking. peace respect to all! TP
(313) TP's Fan Club - weekend update - September Top 10
Greetings Cats! Normally I would address this posting to my fan club list only. But because of the massive response I received from my subject letter Are you about the music, or are you just frontin' , I decided to address this to all (don't worry - this wont become a habit). 1st - let me say that I appreciated ALL the e-mails that I received on the subject. Furthermore, last weekend in Mason City Iowa here in Detroit, I enjoyed meeting many of you who either accepted my challenge to party this weekend sober, and/or those who party sober on a regular basis. It was really encouraging to feel such positive energy from all of you. 2nd - I wanted to quickly make a couple of points: a) I wasn't just speaking to or about the cats in the rave scene, but to all cats who enjoy all forms of music developed in the underground scene within the past 20 years. I don't want to see anyone die, or hurt themselves in any manner regardless if they're a raver, clubhead, and no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., etc.. I was surprised how some cats responded to my wanting to see people be safe in this music. But I also realized that I didn't qualify my point of view, so I will do that later. b) I wasn't trying to preach the Just Say No campaign to any of you. Some of you felt that I was preaching to you in the same manner that some ministers and pastors might do in speaking about religion. Well, just because I know and accept Jesus doesn't mean that you have to, and just because I don't do drugs doesn't mean that you shouldn't do drugs. Whether you choose to do drugs socially (in moderation) or you get blitzed every chance you get, ultimately it's your right to do so. If that's what floats your boat, then by all means set sail and have a wonderful voyage. I'm certainly not trying to be judgemental because it's not my place to judge anyone, especially as it relates to the music. Furthermore, if you read my original posting on this subject carefully, you'll see that I clearly stated that I too realize that drugs have always been, and will more likely continue to be part of music. In the summer of 1982 I had my first djing gig at a backyard party. Back then, cats would get their high by drinking malt liquor poured into small plastic cups (so we called them 8 oz parties) and smokin' a bit of herb - DETROIT SOUTHFIELD cats from `77 to `85 know what I'm talkin' about! My point is that even back then, my first introduction to the party scene as a dj included cats getting high. I didn't smoke any herb (although I use to smoke 3 packs of Kool Milds each day), but I did get my drink on with some OE, Colt 45, or Detroit's favorite cheap 40 oz brew . . . BIG JUG for $.99 (Brings back memories). So I too was sometimes buzzin' at the parties. c) The reason why I stopped getting drinkin' at these parties is because this is Detroit, and in Detroit (unfortunately) there was always some shit jumpin' off. I mean how many of you can say you've been shot at, seen cats get shot, or even seen a cat get smoked (killed) at a party or club??? Well I've seen it all, and it aint pretty folks. The problem is that I'm starting to see to much of what use to go on back in the day re-surface at many of these parties here in Detroit. I can't speak for your scene in your city where you (the reader) are currently. But I want to qualify my request for a drug free atmosphere by saying that at least for the cats here in the D, it's also a matter of street smarts safety. Many of these parties (in warehouses and clubs) are in some of the roughest areas in the city. You cats who come down to these parties high set yourself up as EASY targets. For those of you who are in Detroit, haven't you noticed that most of the ill shit that goes down at these parties usually takes place after 3 or 4 AM??? These cats are waiting for you to get good and high. In some cases, the drug dealers who sell you that crap are in on jackin' you, but many of you don't even see it coming because you're so anxious to get the drugs into your body that you miss what's going on around you! Some of you cats have not one ounce of street smarts within you, yet you particular cats seem to get a feeling of excitement and danger by partying in some of the toughest areas in Detroit. This is not a game! This is real! Your ability to react in a critical situation may mean the difference between life and death. Hopefully none of you reading this will ever be in such a situation. My point is that there is another reason (at least here in Detroit) to check your head when you attend these parties. This past weekend for example, several cats got jacked at gun point at FLAVA, cars jacked, etc., etc.. Now of course I not sayin' that all those who suffered losses where on drugs. Instead what I'm asking is if you had to deal with some REAL SHIT would you rather be sober, or fucked up on some drugs??? (Just
