Re: [AI] Unable to open salary account ICICI bank easly because of my blindness!!!!
However, in my case, whenever I need to go to bank, no other person is required. Secondly, whenever I have a specific task which necessitates my visit to the branch, I give the customer executive a call and somebody visits me at home in the hope that they would be able to coax me for investments in one or the other schemes. I do not fall prey to their bait and make my things done without visiting the branch. For instance, I had to apply for a change of address. For this, I was supposed to visit the branch and submit the required documents. However, I gave a request that I want to know about some attractive investment plans. They sent some fund manager who told me about various plans. I told in return that my saving requirements have been fulfilled but I need to change my address in their records so that they may give me better services. The executive took my address proof and hence my address was changed without any problem. I always keep in touch with the fund managers who are appointed to look after my brokerage account. In this way, whenever I request them for some favour, they do not disappoint me. They have to visit their allotted customers and I make it a point that I keep in touch with them. In my case, When I tried opening ac at ICICI, the personnel was browsing for a particular circular in their banking portal and refered the same circular number at the time of filling the form in his tab. Opening account was good at the bank but when we approach the bank for any banking related activity I need to take my joint account holder eventhough my is in ERS mode of operation... that's worst part of the ICICI... Re: [AI] Unable to open salary account ICICI bank easly because of my blindness!!!!
Hi there, First, Please understand it clearly yourself because being aware is very important. As per the RBI circular RBI / 2007-08 / 35DBOD.No.Leg BC. 91 /09.07.005/2007-08June 4, 2008, no extra formalities are required to be completed for opening an account or providing any other banking facilities such as Debit card or internet banking in the case of a visually impaired person even if he/she uses his/her thumb impression to authenticate. Further, Indian Bank's Association (IBA) on November 18 2008 has issued specific guidelines to all SCBs to provide banking facilities to visually impaired customers without any discrimination. If you need, write offline and I can send you the RBI circular and IBA guidelines. Do show these to your bank's branch manager and sensetize him about your rights. If they still resist,, tell them that you will approach the banking ombudsmen and certainly file a complain with them. Best, Satguru. Re: [AI] Unable to open salary account ICICI bank easly because of my blindness!!!!
Hi timy, as for my knowledge, there is no special forms required to open the account with ICICI bank. There might asking for the guardian to open the account for you. So, kindly recheck with them once. Before answering, I have gone through the terms and condissions of the icici, couldn't found such info. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia On Behalf Of timy sebastian ettumanoor Sent: Friday, December 21, 2018 2:07 PM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning the disabled.
