The station breaks many stereotypes. Many of the RJs, who currently work on a voluntary basis, are employed with sectors such as IT, human resources, management and creative writing. Amit Bhatt, who does a show on Radio Udaan, has proven nothing is impossible. An IT professional, Amit has also worked with All India Radio as their sports correspondent in 2002, where he did a show called Khel Siva. When asked how he managed this Bhatt says, This is exactly what they asked me. When pressed he says: There is nothing wrong with my hearing. I used to listen to audio interviews of sportstars and present my show. Amit adds that he did his own share of reporting while interviewing personalities such as former Test umpire S.K. Bansal. I used an old fashioned tape recorder and I took notes writing in the Braille script. But I realised that I could not do journalism long term and so I turned to IT. The first question that strikes anyone is that how could anyone from the visually-impaired community be able to handle computers? Divya Sharma, another RJ from Radio Udaan explains: We (the RJs) use JAWS, a software program to ensure that everything that is written is spoken. For my phone there is a 'talk back' facility so one can speak and work normally. Divya is currently pursuing her Masters in English from Punjab University. She has two weekly shows on Radio Udaan - Inspirational Wings and Mystery of 26. In her spare time, she is a poet, freelance writer, guitarist and singer. My show Inspirational Wings is about building courage and positivity, while my other show is about learning English, something which many of my listeners have appreciated, she says. There are challenges though. Singhvi admits that being a nonprofit organisation ensures that some RJs drop out due to lack of remuneration. This certainly was the case with Swati Saxena. Working as an HR manager after completing her MBA in Human Resources Management from TISS, Mumbai, Swati admits that her show called Sports Galaxy, which she did with her sister Shubhra, changed her life immensely. The day I got associated with Radio Udaan (in June 2014), my Facebook post got the maximum number of likes so far. Some people thought I had given up my HR job to be an RJ, she laughs. The success of Radio Udaan has not only changed lives but also attitudes. As Singhvi reveals, plans are on to raise funds amid the visuallyimpaired community to monetise Radio Udaan there is a plan to create other media such as a magazine for their visually-impaired listeners. As she says, We want to show everyone that the visually impaired have the same concerns as anyone else. If encouraged, they can educate themselves, take jobs and do everything that everyone else can. Dear friend, follow the steps given below. Few tips to organize mailing list messages by creating a label and filter in gmail account. CREATING THE LABEL: List of 9 items. Open your gmail account, Create link list by pressing insert +F 7. Go to settings by pressing [ S ]. Again create link list by pressing insert + F7. Now press [ L ] and find the label, and hit enter on it. Go to top of page by pressing control + home key. Now press shift + [ E ] and you will get the last edit box which is call, create a new label: edit. Hear you have to give any name of label, for example, for accessindia mailing list you can write, accessindia. Now press tab and you will get create button, hit spacebar or enter on it and label will be created. List end. as you create the label, you will be in setting page so we do not have to create a link list and go to setting again and again, but if by mistake if you go to inbox, make sure that you have to go to setting page. Before creating the message rule, we need to know wither for what

To create the message rule for access India mailing list, follow the

51. Wait for few second. Let jaws to announce. Your message has been

Hi friends, thank you for your support, I have Successfully switched my microphone to front panel, but as Naushad ji said, the sound will be like radio. I have open real tech manager, then microphone tab and on that I hit spacebar on connecter settings on that, I have checked disable front panel jack detection and tab to ok button, finally press spacebar on ok button. Return to the main tutorials page. © 2009 - Stacy Bleeks, All Rights Reserved Facebook Navigation for screen reader users by Stacy Bleeks Part1- Facebook basic navigation with a screen reader--- Facebook is navigable and it's main functions are completely accessible with a screen rheader. You just need to know what to look for and how to interact with the Facebook layout. Screen reader users do not need to use mobiel mode. Within your Facebook page there is a lot of information which is irrelevent, so be prepared to skip over it and find the stuff you really want/need. The following tips and tricks will have you interacting with Facebook in no time. Reading posts and status updates When you log into Facebook, you are, by default, on your Facebook home page. The page is divided into many headings. You can move through the headings by pressing the letter H. The first heading we are concerned with is the heading level 2 titled, News feed. Just above the News Feed heading are 2 possible links. These are 1. most recent and 2. top news. Think of these 2 links as a toggle. Activate the most recent link to sort the updates, which will be listed further down the page. This list will be sorted chronologically from most recent to oldest. Just press the letter H to move from one post heading to the nexct. Activate the top news link to view a random list showing posts by a selection of your friends FB updates. All Facebook posts are listed beginning with a heading containing your friend's name, so move through these updates by pressing the letter H. If there is a particular update or news story, you are interested in, you can arrow down to find out more information, make comments on the information, indicate that you like the post, or view others comments listed about the post. Older posts After skipping through the headings/status updates, that is to say the Facebook posts from your friends, you will eventually loop back to the top of your page. You can extend the list of these Facebook news stories by finding and activating the link titled this page link older posts. This will add more of your friend's stories to the bottom of the list you were just viewing. This means you will have to navigate back down to that spot in order to view them. Tip: To quicly find the older posts link, you can use your links list or: Perform a text search for the word older. • Press Ctrl F. • A dialogue box will appear. Enter the word older and press Enter. • Focus will move to the word/link older posts. • Pressing Enter will activate the older posts link thus adding older posts to the current list of your Facebook friend's postings. Commenting on, and liking Facebook posts. Your Facebook friend news feed posts might simply be what's on their mind, and these posts could also include links to videos, articles, other interesting Web pages etc. If you come across one of your Facebook friend's posts, and you want to comment on it, arrow down to the edit write a comment...edit. Type your comment, Tab to the post comment button and press spacebar. Often times, however, there will not be a write your comment edit box. There will in this case simply be the word comment. meaning it's not a link or an edit field. If this is the case: • move to the word comment directly beneath the heading associated with that particular post. • Arrow over to the letter O in comment, and press Enter. • An edit box will open so press the letter E to move to the edit field, turn forms mode on and type your comment. • To post your comment, press Tab to move focus to the comment button, and press spacebar. To view comments Beneath your friend's posts others might have made comments. By default, Facebook will show 2 of these comments. You can arrow down to have your screen reader read these. If, however, there are more than 2 comments, you can press spacebar on the view all comments button. The page will refresh and all comments will then be displayed.
