Yes, Chile relleno...long green Chile, white cheese and separate white and yolk
of eggs...beat whites until firm, add yolk and mix, add flour...make into a
batter...pick good Chile from NM, preferably...wash and cut long wise...hot,
leave alone. Mild, remove seeds...
Place white cheese pieces inside..roll into batter and drop into hot oil...turn
once when brownthey go well with Carta Blanca beer... enjoy...

I like good rellenos, but I'm finding that they're oddly inconsistent in

I know several of you have limited transport options, so

Re: [AFMUG] Pounce on Zayo...

2019-08-07 Thread Robert
The 24+ hour one, a piece of legacy equipment went bad.   Just died of
old age.   They were saying it would take 4 days to replace ( all
equipment related upstream too ) then they finally got a hold of one of
the guys from the company that they bought out and he said there was a
pile ( literally a pile ) of them in the field office and dug through
them to replace it.  Once they got him involved it was 2 hours to get it
up.  Yes over 22 hours to call in the guy who knew.. Nobody else had
bothered  to learn anything from him in over 4 years since they bought
out the prior...

Just consider the attitude of a provider that will basically trash a 10
year ( always paid a month in advance ) customer ( outlay over 10 years,
360K! ) for now and forever and in any future relationships, and who
knows how many other angles, for $26k.    You really want to ask
yourself who you are getting in a dependency relationship with.  Not to
mention that they were the least reliable fiber provider we ever worked
with with outages lasting up to 5 to 6 hours 4-5 times a year and then
the 24 hour+ outage when they said go away.    Whew it's good to get
that off my chest.   I sure hope someone from Zayo gets to read this!

Chris, we need them in SCA-SCU. Our plant is almost always SCA, but for
rooftops we need to do SCA-SCU to go to a BiDi SFP in a radio.
Craig, those look pretty solid. Not sure why you would pay the tariff,
china pays that... (too soon to break lent?). I'll order a batch and check
them out. Price seems great.

Speaking of FS, do other people get a discount off their list? We have for
a long time but it isn't much. Thinking about trying to get a bigger
discount since we order so much from them.

I feel like I could make more money by being an asshole, but I can't

Sitepro1 might. Be careful though, I once needed 2 galv u bolts and
accidently ordered 2 buckets of 100 each. I still have a bunch of those.

My Mom used to insist on using Fels Naptha
soap. She was very sensitive to poison ivy, but loved
collecting mushrooms where I grew up. She would always wash up
with the stuff after a mushroom outing.

Re: [AFMUG] tecnu

2019-08-07 Thread Bill Prince
What we do instead of Tecnu is just carry a bottle of rubbing alcohol
and a roll of paper towels. Alcohol will cut the usushiol without
opening the pores on your skin. Pour a liberal amount of alcohol on a
paper towel and wipe it over your arms (or face or legs or hands), and
dispose of the paper towel in a plastic or paper bag. Use each towel
once so you're not just spreading the oil around. This is pretty
effective, and costs a lot less than Tecnu and it's available almost
anywhere.

As a point of note; if you shower after exposure to poison oak or poison
ivy, don't take a hot shower. Take a cold shower because you don't want
to open the pores on your skin.

Unfortunately you would have to buy it ahead of time and have it
with you, along with running cool water.  Kind of like the products

I've tried Tecnu as well as degreasers such as Gojo and Super Orange. I
figure if it removes black motor grease from my skin it should work on
poison ivy. I can't tell if either works or not.
