2014-05-17 Thread Eric Knaps , ON4HF

Hello Tony,

This is what I have in my DOPPLER.SQF file:

FUNCUBE-1 (AO-73),145936.58,0,USB,USB,NOR,0,0,TLM
FUNCUBE-1 (AO-73),145958.3,435147.78,USB,LSB,REV,0,0,SSB transponder

The first frequency is the downlink and should be USB. The second
frequency is the uplink and should be LSB.

Birders,
I’m confused about the required entries into DOPPLER.SQF, and would appreciate
your help.
In entering the line required for AO-73, is the order LSB,USB or the reverse,
USB, LSB? The source of my confusion is that the instructions in the software
indicate “Up- and Downlink modes” while the actual entries for the linear birds
appear, except for AO-7, in the opposite order.

Thanks much.

2014-05-17 Thread Dave Webb KB1PVH
Anthony,

Here is a copy and paste from the manual.

· The name of the satellite

·The receive- and transmit frequencies in kHz

·The Up- and Downlink modes

·The frequency trend of the satellite (normal or reverse)

·The converter and transverter offset frequencies

file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/SatPC32/Manual.htm#KenwoodParSQF

file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/SatPC32/Manual.htm#KenwoodParSQF

As a general rule, all 7 parameters have to be present, even if some of
them are irrelevant for a particular satellite. In that case the unused
data may have any value.

So for mine, I have these two lines.

FUNCUBE-1 (AO-73),145935.8,-2.83,USBTLM
FUNCUBE-1 (AO-73),145960.0,435152.89,USB,LSB,REV,,, Transponder

2012-07-22 Thread Adrian Engele
Kelly,

Take a look in the Setup menu under Configurations. You can set up 4 different
radio setups which allows you to set up which ever radio you want as your TX
and RX radio. Then you add only the satellites that you want to use for that
particular configuration.

I have mine setup so I am always using my IC-7000 for TX and my FT817or FT857
for RX. I use one configuration for FO-29, AO-27, SO-50 and a second
configuration for AO-7 and VO-52. You have to restart SatPC each time to go to
another configuration.

Good luck.

Satellite newby here, trying to setup a station...

For all you SatPC32 users, a question. I'm using the software with 2 radios.
One is an Icom IC-706MKIIG, the other is a Icom IC-746. While the 706 covers
vhf and uhf, the 746 only covers vhf.

The way my version of SatPC32 is set, it tries (depending on the satellite) to
set the 746 to uhf. I suspect there is a way to tell the software that a radio
can only do vhf, but can't seem to find where to do that. Anyone know?

[amsat-bb] Re: SatPC32 Question

2012-07-22 Thread Erich Eichmann

Hello Kelley,
to steer both radios you only need a single COM port and a single CAT
interface or CAT cable with - for example - an y-adapter.
In menu Radio Setup , Radio 1 section, choose Icom for brand and the
IC-706MKIIG for model. Set the CAT baudrate to 19200, do the same at the
radios.
In the menu set the first of the 2 Icom addresses for the IC-706MKIIG ($58
by default) and the 2nd one for the IC-746 ($56 by default). Click
Addresses OK. Choose a proper COM port and set the CAT delay to 50 (try
the lowest working value lateron). Leave all other options in menu Radio
Setup unchecked. Set the Radio 2 section to None.
Save the settings and restart the program. Click the C control to C+.
With v/u sats (FO-29, SO-50) the program should now steer the IC-706 as RX
and the IC-746 as TX. With SSB sats you can tune th IC-706 around the
passband and the IC-746 will follow.

To steer the radios with u/v sats (VO-52, AO-07) set the second address pair
in menu Radio Setup to the vice versa addresses (first value for the
IC-746, second value for the IC-706). Save the changes and restart the
program.
The program will start with the settings for v/u sats. To run with u/v sats
open menu Mode and select the 2nd address line. The IC-746 will now run as
the RX on VHF and the IC-706 as TX on UHF. You can tune the IC-746 in the
passband with its VFO and the IC-706 will follow.

2012-06-12 Thread Matt Severin
Hi Tony,

I think I have a possible solution. I am able to reproduce your situation
by doing the opposite of my suggestion below. See if this fixes it. If
not, maybe someone else can pin it down for you.

Go to 'Satellites' in the menu bar and check the list of satellites in
the 'selected [standard]' window. Do your FM birds have a star ( * ) to
their left? If not, click on the satellite so it highlights in blue and
chose the button show on/off. This will put a star next to the satellite
name. Choose OK and see if that resolved it. You might need to restart
SatPC32 before the changes occur (but I don't think so).

I hope this helps.

Good luck and 73

FM birds don't show up at all until they are clicked on in the A, B, C,

 Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ted,

Are you using SATPC32ISS? The rig is not capable of operating full duplex
on the same band, so if you want to work the ISS on those frequencies, you
need to use the special version. The SATPC32ISS does tune both the uplink
and downlink, but not as full duplex. More like a standard repeater.

Most rigs will not let you used same band on two vfos. Erich has developed

then enter the desired port number to the right.

Hi Tony,

You can manually move them. Bring up two directory windows one with the
floppy drive and one with the SatPC32
kep directory (generally C:\Program Files\SatPC32\Kepler).
I would recommend that you rename the kep file on the floppy drive as
amateur.txt or nasa.all, so that it will make it easier for SatPC32 to use
the new file without your having to select a new filename each update. Then
just select the filename after selecting Satellites . Whatever name you
select will be used each time you startup SatPC32, until you change it,

What operating system are you using? With XP, I have never run into a flash
drive that required a driver. They just worked.

However, with Win98SE, I had to download a driver from Sandisk before my
Cruzer drive would work. Their site specifically states that no driver is
required for Windows ME, 2000, or XP, as well as Mac OS 9.1 or 10.1.2+

The other possibility is that you may need to download a driver from Dell
for the port itself...
