hey! thanx a ton for sharing.. i could visualize what u said... cant wait to see the award function On 8/5/07, balajirajagopal [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: All - I had the privilege of attending the South Filmfare awards held on Saturday, 4th August at Hyderabad. Imagine my pleasure when I found that I was in the same row as ARR - the only difference being I was in what was called the Silver class while ARR was in the Gold class and there was a sort of a barricade between the two classes. Nevertheless, I had a clear glimpse of him. He was in a black suit and accompanied by his wife. Actor Vijay was throughout sitting next to him and in fact, was the one to hand over the best Tamil MD award to ARR. A couple of ARR related stuff during the awards :- a) When Shreya Ghoshal won the award for Munbe va, the compere asked her to sing a couple of lines. You should see her feeling very nervous and more than once telling on the mike - ARR Sir, I am trying to sing the song. She then hummed a couple of lines - brilliantly done, I must say!. No wonder when the giant screen panned to ARR, he was giving a smile and gently clapping appreciatively once Shreya finished her two line singing! b) One of the biggest cheers during the evening (of course, the biggest cheer was reserved for Chiranjeevi) was when Vijay announed ARR's name for the award. ARR, surprisingly, made a small speech in tamil thanking both Krishna (Director SOK) and KS Ravikumar (Director Varalaaru) for the award, saying the tunes were selected by them). Considering the venue was Hyderabad, I thought ARR would make his speech in Tamil. c) When Devisri Prasad got the award for the best MD in Telugu for Bommirulu, in his thankyou speech, he made mention of all the Jambavans like SPB, Yesudas, Susheela etc and finally rounded off by screaming not to forget the Isaipuyal AR Rahman!! d) Adhiradee of Sivaji was one of the songs which was danced tobut must confess it was not a patch on the original choreographed song! e) ARR was throughout were calm, composed and with Vijay (were they discussing something about ATM???). Very dignified was the word that comes to be immediately. f) When ARR went to collect his award, the song that was played on the big screen was New York Nagaram and I must say, with the lovely sound effects, the song was sounding even more brilliant! However, actor Vijay while announcing the award was so morose that one felt he was doing an unwilling chore rather than announcing a popular award. The awards will be telecast on Suntv. Not sure when though! My take on the awards - it was boring, utterly unprofessional and not a patch on the regular FF awards (however, if one considers how ARR's live rendering during the regular awards was botched up, I guess the South awards were par for the ocassion!!) Cheers! Balaji

Jha, August 4, 2007 - 15:24 IST The determination to see *Jodhaa-Akbar* release on time is no longer unreal. Post-production work on Ashutosh Gowariker magnum opus is on full swing. The editing and dubbing are going on simultaneously. Speaking exclusively to me Ashutosh says, I'm currently editing the film in Mumbai. It's not an easy task. Considering the canvas of the storytelling this could well be the director's toughest film yet. That isn't all. Aishwarya is shooting in Hyderabad. So she'll dub in that city. While Hrithik will dub in Mumbai says Ashutosh. On top of it there are dozens of other actors, big or small, whose dubbing has to be done under the strictest supervision to make sure that the Urdu dialogues are in place and the pronunciation is impeccable. In fact, Hrithik and Aishwarya have been working doubly hard on their dialogues to live up to Ashutosh's exacting standards. http://www.indiafm.com/news/2007/08/04/9852/index.html

Hi Amit, I am Nayan. And I think you just convert the cassetes in MP3 formats using your computer. For that you will need A nice quality walkman and SONY SOUNDFORGE software which I can provide you. [arr] Re: Lagaan - A Classic
I too would confirm this but would like to add another one which is my favorite, SWADES. I have seen both these films may be 100 times each ? They are absolutely simple to comprehend, and that speaks volumes of Ashutosh Gowarikars command over his art. If you compare both movies, see what is below, 1. Established hero, but new female lead 2. Strong characterisation inspite of many actors and roles, you remember each and every person in both movies. 3. Complete respect to the songs, no half song or just something in background. Full songs. 4. Rahman at his best in EACH AND EVERY SONG, all songs HIT 5. Regarding BGMS, what can I say, THE BEST BGMs are from Swades and Lagaan. 6. Story line with Strong Pro-Indian theme without blatant display. That makes me more and more interested in JODHA AKBAR. We perform RAHMANIA shows in Pune and our programme starts with Ghanana Ghanana and also has Yeh jo des hai tera / Yun hi chala chal and Chale Chalo. We value these two movies very much. i think its good. we never know what kathir would give to this generation audience.. there was a season when people were waiting for kathir's movie. now its been 5-6 years he came with one.. also, his latest movie was not a hit too. we dont want ARR to be in a movie that has not got a firm base. i dont mean to say Kathir is a bad director. as he seldom opts for established actors, only ARRs music and kathir's story, screenplay are the heros! the former is always at his best and is in a great form but what about the latter?! however, if ARR accepts it then it means that the movie will have a good storyline.. ok.. lets wait and watch.. and the bottomline is: there is nothing to loose! [arr] Re: [Semi ARR] URGENT: How to save cassettes and CDs from fungus?
You need an air-tight container so that no moisture can get in. Like a cookie jar, only larger, for your collection. Also you can use an absorbent inside such a jar to absorb any remaining moisture. Obviously you can go extreme while building something like that ;) Nitrogen purges etc., depending on how much you love your tapes. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Amith Chandhran [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Friends, all my cassettes and CDs are getting infected by fungus these days. [arr] Re:[Semi ARR] URGENT: How to save cassettes and CDs from fungus?
if u have room full of cds cassettes then ready to face this article What can I do about moisture problems in my home? If summertime humidity in your basement is 60% or higher: Molds and mildew grow easily. Moisture wicking through a concrete basement floor can be trapped in carpeting, resulting in much higher humidity levels than in the air, allowing mold growth at even lower air humidity. To reduce humidity during the summer months: Reduce any sources of moisture. Close off the basement to moist, outside air. Use a dehumidifier to bring the humidity down to 50% or less. An inexpensive humidity gauge from a hardware store can help you adjust your dehumidifier to the proper setting. For severe humidity problems, consider buying a large-capacity, high-efficiency dehumidifier such as the Santa Fe from Therma-Stor. Make sure gutters and downspouts carry water away from the foundation and soil is sloped away from the foundation. Use vent fans during and after bathing and cooking. Dry clothes outside or in a clothes dryer vented to the outside. Do not dry clothes on an indoor clothesline. Put plastic over bare soil in crawl spaces. Moisture on windows in the winter is also from high relative humidity. As the outside temperature goes down, the inside surface of your windows can get colder than the dew point of the air in your house. When this happens, water condenses on the glass. To reduce humidity during the winter months: Make sure the relative humidity is below 40%. Very cold outdoor temperatures often require indoor humidity lower than 40% to prevent condensation. Add another layer of glazing with plastic or a storm window. If you have a humidifier, make sure it is turned off and not leaking water. Increase airflow over windows by moving furniture away or using fans. Reduce night temperature setbacks (although this will increase heating costs). If mold develops or if you have condensation for more than a few weeks, you have a more serious problem. For severe moisture problems, consider adding a whole-house ventilation system (preferably a heat recovery system). [arr] AR Rahman and Josh movie connection
Guyz, I'm sure this must have been discussed long time ago. I was listening to Josh songs yesterday and I remember at that time when it got released, there were rumours that ARR composed one or few tracks and then backed out of the project and Anu Malik took over. And now when i listed to Sailaru Sailare, it sounds so much like Rahman's song than Anu Malik'sthe arrangements, the feel and especially when the first trailor was out in 2000, i for sure felt the diff in music, like Rahmanesque feeling... Also the singers r surprisingly Mano and Suresh Peters...i would never think in my wildest dreams that our Malik would sign in Mano and Peters to sing a song for him. The rest of the songs however sound like Malik's. Any info on this ??? Did Anu Malik take credit for this song or was it confirmed that ARR composed this song ?? Coz atleast in Fiza, Piya Haji Ali was credited to AR Rahman, however the ending of the other song Mahi ve, when the tempo goes up, i thought it was more like a Rahman's touch than Malik's. Sirish
Re: [arr] Re: Suttrum Vizhi Oru malai in Ghajini (Hindi), Is it true???????
I have no doubt that ARR will give fresh new songs for this... copying of other MDs music is something which we cant relater ARR with. after giving 100s of Hit songs which are better than oru maalai and suttrum vizhi why should arr copy the same two songs.. its completely a false news. if so arr would have aggreed to remix the Thottal Poo malarum song in the movie NEW..but he didn't, he got a new tune for the same lyrics... Re: [arr] Songs which has less instruments
Song from film Amritha, which is Kannathil Muthamittal (2002) in Tamil. It is the title track, which is played in the background with the titles in the start of the film. It is very melodious song sung by ARR which is worth listening every morning which has only flute and on string instrument. Yeh jo desh hai song from swadesh also seems to be composed with very few instruments with shehnai dominating the entire piece. Alai pongera song - devotional song from Sakhi (Alaipayuthey in Tamil, Maniratnam's film with Madhavan and Shalini). Only beats and veena seem to used in it. Vande mataram(revival) - Slow version of Vande mataram also has less instruments with beautiful female voices (Anuradha, Sujatha, Kalyani Menon and one more). There are many such beautiful songs with less instruments by ARR. -Sriram. rayrai2k [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, I wish we shall pull out the songs in which ARR has used less instruments / sounds. the first one that come to my mind is the song i=n Thiruda Thiruda. [arr] SJ Suryah heaps laurels on ARR
*A R Rahman peaking more high* Composing great music for mega-starrer Rajnikanth's Sivaji, A R Rahman becomes highest paid music director for a film. S J Suryah has opted Rahman to score music for his upcoming Telugu film Puli with Pawan Kalyan donning lead role. Usually when a director decides to make a film, it is the producers whom he hunts for and later followed by selection of cast and crew. But that doesn't happen with SJ Suryah as he goes for Rahman first and later with others. When asked the reason for paying A R Rahman Rs. 2Crore for his film, he says that his musical melodies are more worth than this and anyone who knows about his magic mantra would pay him moreā¦ http://www.kollywoodtoday.com/news/a-r-rahman-peaking-more-high/
