RE: [arr] quot;Chennayil oru Mazhaikaalam - The Project didnt take offquot;- Gowtham Menon speaks
Hi, I think he means the project didn#39;t take off with Surya and Abirami, as he had planned initially... That#39;s all there is to it. I think the project is definitely on starring trisha, as confirmed by gautam yesterday on Radio One. Aravind Vithur wrote: http://timesofindia .indiatimes.. com/Entertainmen t/India_Buzz/ Tribute_to_ dads/articleshow /3527321. cms After Mani Ratnam, Gautham Vasudeva Menon is one director who has made significant changes to Tamil commercial cinema. In a career spanning just seven years, Menon has pushed the cinematic envelope and brought in a savvy freshness to the form, hitherto unexplored. He has made four films in Tamil and two remakes of his own Tamil films in Hindi and Telugu and ushered in a new way of story telling. He has created unforgettable characters who are realistic and lifelike. How do you manage to churn out hit songs with Harris Jayaraj in all your films? Your combo is now being compared to the hit combinations of Mani Ratnam-AR Rahman and Shankar-AR Rahman? I have a terrific rapport with my team — Harris, lyricist Thamarai, editor Antony and art director Rajeevan. They are my core team and at the time of script writing itself, I visualise the songs , taking inputs from them. All these guys are my good friends, and we vibe well. In Vaaranam Aayiram (VM), for the first time, a film of mine will have seven songs. Every song takes the screenplay forward and does not bog down the story. The Adiye Kolluthu song shows 90 days in the life of my hero, a period in which he falls in lov In real life, are you a romantic person. You have been linked to all your heroines, right from Reema Sen, to many others including Abhirami, for whom the grapevine has it that you built a house in Hyderabad. (Laughs) My policy is that I don't mix my personal life with my work. I'm happily married to Preety, my wife. Ours was a love marriage. A Hindu boy marrying a Christian girl, something similar to my Minnale.Reema is a good friend even today, and as far as Abhirami is concerned, I liked her tall dusky looks and cast her as the heroine in my Chennail Oru Mazhaikalam, opposite Surya but somehow, the project did not take off. It is true that I have brought a house in Hyderabad, not for Abhirami but for my family to stay when we shoot in Hyderabad. As far as women are concerned, I like to talk to them and spend time with them but it does not go beyond that. I occasionally party and I don't see anything wrong in it. What's next on your agenda? A film for Sivaji Productions with Ajit as hero. The shoot will start from November 1. And next April, I will be doing a film with Mahesh Babu in Telugu. -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood; Get an email ID as [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Click here http://in.promos.yahoo.com/address
Re: [arr] Slumdog Millionaire ...could easily be called a masterpiece
Movie Preview : Slumdog Millionaire Directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Danny Boyle (who earlier directed films such as TRAINSPOTTING, 28 DAYS LATER SUNSHINE) and written by Simon Beaufoy, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE stars Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Dev Patel, Madhur Mittal and Freida Pinto. This is Anil Kapoor's first International project also featuring Irrfan Khan alongside. The film is based on the best selling novel QA by Vikas Swarup and has a tongue-in-cheek humour. The film has been mostly shot in Mumbai. Hollywood big studios Fox Searchlight and Warner Bros. have teamed up to distribute the film. The film also has a few more Indian names attached to it. Sukhwinder Singh has sung a song for the film and the music is composed by the music maestro A.R. Rehman which has lyrics by Gulzar. Initially, Amitabh Bachchan was offered this role of the quizmaster since he had played the part on the famous game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' with great effect. But after he expressed his inability, Shah Rukh Khan was approached but then the King Khan cited date problems and excused himself out. Anil Kapoor was the next choice and he lapped up the chance immediately. The film is scheduled to release on November 19, 2008 in US and had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where it won the top prize, the People's Choice Award. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Intrigued by Jamal's story, the jaded Police Inspector begins to wonder what a young man with no apparent desire for riches is really doing on this game show? When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out... http://www.glamsham.com/movies/previews/25-slumdog-millionaire-movie-preview-090815.asp -- regards.. Boyle has honed his directorial style to a razor’s edge, creating a sometimes uncomfortable intimacy between audience and subject. The story is told through the eyes of Jamal Malik (Dev Patel), who is the unlikely winner of the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Jamal is subsequently accused of cheating, as the uneducated street urchin cum call centre employee could not possibly know the answers to all the obscure Millionaire trivia. Jamal defends his win by recalling, question by question, how the circumstances of his life growing up on the streets of Mumbai/Bombay with his older brother Salim (Madhur Mittal) and fellow orphan Latika (Frieda Pinto) provided all the answers. Slumdog Millionaire is a film of stark contrast, at times brutal and beautiful, sad and joyful. Boyle creates a work of startling emotional complexity that will leave viewers exhilarated and exhausted by the time the end credits roll. Visually the movie is a riot of colour and texture, turning the shantytowns of Bombay into a densely layered feast for the eyes. While the entire cast is incredible, the actors who play Jamal and Salim as young children give a superb performance, carrying the first third of the film on their shoulders in a way that few adult actors could hope to. As young adults, Jamal and Salim are flip-sides of the same coin, with Patel’s forthright and upstanding Jamal evoking the audience’s sympathy, while Mittal channels a disturbed intensity to bring the rage and

Blaaze and me both got excited and started inspecting the hummer from all sides. And then once the young gentleman had gone in, I asked Blaaze who he was. Udayanidhi Stalin - a future leader in a very very futuristic car indeed. Must cost a couple of crores ? Do let me know. Kala Prabhu's debut vehicle is driven single handedly by one driver, A R Rahman. The credits come on to some amazing guitar riffs and mellow sounds which is completely spoilt by the next ten minutes of the movie showing the hero's childhood pranks with his friends. Cheap, uncalled for and without relevance but maybe the director wanted to fit in a song - 'Yelle' tracks the progress of the hero and his friends from childhood to youth. The story is a oft repeated and done to death boy sees girl - falls in love at first sight - girl does not reciprocate but later is convinced - another girl loves the boy - misunderstanding between the boy and the original girl - patch up - second misunderstanding - original girl pretending to sacrifice her love and asking the boy and second girl to be together - boy mouthing some cliched ' love cannot be measured in percentages ' dialogues and finally boy and original girl walk into the sunset. That's the story in 2 lines. You still want to go and sit in a theatre for 2 hours ? Maybe yes... And that's because the driver is cruising full speed and completely in control. No need to wear seatbelts. You are in safe hands. Each song barring (and this is a personal opinion) the Meenaxi re-hashes are an absolute delight to listen to in Dolby. Pump up the volume !! What's more, there are almost 3 english tracks as part of the BGM. Two tracks play upto the end of the 1st stanza while the 3rd only plays 4 lines. R B, Hip Hop genres :):) Ya ! you may not close your eyes and end up seeing the song picturisations and compare it to the difference in quality between an asterix / tintin comic book to a chacha chaudhary. LOL. The young director seems to have got his hands on some special effects package and has gone overboard using them. Or he had plenty of moolah still left over. A lot of them though are again oft repeated - like the graphics in 'Marudhani' may remind you of the film 'The day after tommorow'. 'Chinamma' may remind you of some of Shankar's works though this looks pale in comparision. ' Taxi Taxi' comes on twice, the second one being towards the end as I guess they reshot the song as an afterthought. I was very happy to see my friend Blaaze on screen in the song. I personally think he has a lot of potential which still remains un(w)rapped -:) Sakarakkati is strictly for the dozen Shantnoo fans, the dozen what's her name heroine fans and the millions of A R R fans. - Vijay Iyer

Many here will say nothing, ARR is perfect. But, come on, let's be real, as brilliant as his music is, let's think of some musical ideas that haven't been revisited in a while, or perhaps, never. One thing I would really like to hear in an ARR song that I haven't heard in a while is a complex solo instrumental interlude using a fast tabla, complex sitar with many classical notes, etc. ARR has in fact done this with his singing in RDB and Guru (singing fast sargams in Lukka Chuppi's end and the first interlude of Tere Bina), but I would really love to hear some fast solo instrumentation. A good example of this is the mrudgangam solo in Dheem Taare from Thakshak. SEL did a nice, sweet sitar fast complex solo in Bunty Aur Bubbly's song Chup Chup Ke second stanza. Would love to hear ARR do more of this kind of complex solo instrumental sections in this songs. He uses the flute beautifully in many of his songs, very haunting, but would like to hear more classical compelxity and what classical artists call jhala.

Re: [arr] Re: The first Sakkarakatti review
The story is the usual one.. I love ARR's bgm.. He rocks.. When it comes to songs, choreo is a bit bad.. imagine if it was done by rajusundaram or brindha ... taxi is good.. The usage of graphics is unnecessary in chinnamma.. or he must have used them effectively.. hero is dancing, ghosts are flying.. they are not related.. if we compare this with Porkalam Enge from Thenali which had similar visuals / themes,KS Ravikumar did justice for the song.. Camera, dts mixing by sivakumar (for the first time, i think), art direction, rerecording are really good.. the vehicle (story) which carries all these things is a bit weak.. even if the story is weak, rerecording takes care of the movie.. i love the first english song..

Brilliant as always Kaissiom :-) And thank you once more ... I wonder for how long award ceremonies will continue to ignore the magic of this voice. It amazes me that ARR has not won the best singer awards for each of the amazing songs he has sung over the past 16 years . [arr] Sakkarakatti doesn't melt in your mouth, like its tagline says (Cho Chweet!)
http://www.rediff.com/movies/2008/sep/26sss1.htm These days 'Youth' movies are in. Directors pride themselves on being able to capture the pulse of the urban, savvy, hip audience with stylish songs, perfect dialogues, a cast-iron plot and a quirky cast. Certainly, Kalaippuli Dhanu's Tamil film *Sakkarakatti *(Lump of Sugar), directed by his son Kalaprabhu aims to hit the nail on the head with its target audience -- but the director has failed to win the jackpot by a mile. It really doesn't look that bad when you see the opening shots: an up-market, beautifully designed house (courtesy art director Jacki) and you're introduced to the cast of characters: the hero's father (*Nizhalgal*Ravi), mother, sisters and brothers (all played by insignificant characters as they obviously make no impact) and then, finally, the hero himself, Yuvraj (Shantanoo Bhagyaraj) -- a precocious ten-year old who ogles at girls whenever he can. So far, so good. There's even a song *Elay*, which conveniently shows his transition to adulthood. He and his friends all speak swanky English, drive expensive bikes, wear designer clothes and cool haircuts. Forget the fact that none of these characters resemble the average collegian at any point. Yuvraj also, for some reason, despite having lived in Chennai all his life, has a weird American accent that gets on your nerves. Cut to his first meeting with his would-be-girlfriend, Deepali (Ishita Sharma), who wears even more skimpy clothes, tosses her styled hair often and speaks Tamil like a five-year old. Yuvraj falls for her instantly, and on his first day of college, guess whom he should meet? Yes, it is Deepali. Surprise, surprise. In no time at all, and without even the proper groundwork of getting to know one another, the two fall in love. But what's a simple love story without the done-to-death triangle? Enter the default Reema (Vedhika), looking beautiful and glamorous: Yuvraj's cousin. She too, with no rhyme or reason, falls for our hero. And when, at an appropriate moment, she expresses her love, she's given a flat denial. To give him credit, Yuvraj does seem apologetic. But good manners don't impress Reema, who's furious and frustrated. In the meantime, Yuvraj continues romancing Deepali. Which is the cue to introduce another of A R Rahman's peppy numbers and the SFX team (Ocher Studios) has gone all out in producing cowboy sets, fantasy flying, strange and wonderful lands where the hero and heroine cavort in joy or sigh in depression. Obviously, the makers decided that every Rahman number must be given its due! And then it is back to the lacklustre storyline, where Yuvraj is continuously egged on by his friends, is pursued by Reema, and chases Deepali. Circumstances show Yuvraj and Reema in a compromising situation, and Deepali promptly catches the two together. But just when you think the story's going to heat up, it flat-lines again. Shantanoo (who doesn't take after his father) plays safe in this movie: it's been tailor-made for a young hero who has little to do except romance his heroines and generally look good. Shantanoo does this well sometimes and not-so-well at others. There are no fight scenes (thankfully) so he doesn't have to prove himself there. With practice, though, he looks like he'll improve. (Why Bhagyaraj, who's a master of screenplay, lets his son choose such a pointless script though, is a mystery.). Ishita's a mess; she can't act to save her skin and when she speaks her emotional dialogue, the theatre boos loudly in protest (of course, that might also be a reaction to the terrible dialogues itself). Vedhika, whose earlier work includes *Muni* and *Kaalai* has acquitted herself well. At least her dialogue-delivery and expressions are marginally better. She's wasted though. Shantanoo's friends, except one or two, don't gel at all. As for *Nizhalgal*Ravi and the rest, they mysteriously disappear after the first reel and are never seen again. Kalaprabhu really needs to observe the world around him if he needs to come up with a plausible screenplay, dialogues and performances. Picturising A R Rahman's songs in SFX, throwing in American catch-phrases and making his characters swagger in designer wear won't make a good, peppy film. If he'd capitalised on one or two of the good points in the screenplay, the film would've actually worked. Judging by the catcalls at the silly climax, the theatre is left with an audience that obviously expected a lot from the dazzling promos and songs, but is frustrated and disappointed. Their only consolation is that it's a pretty short movie. *Sakkarakatti* doesn't melt in your mouth, like its tagline says (Cho Chweet!) -- in fact, it's a tasteless lump of nothing. -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;
[arr] A.R. Rahman - Busy bee humming in town
http://www.kollywoodtoday.com/news/ar-rahman-busy-bee-humming-in-town/ A.R. Rahman had to take a break in Tamil film industry as he was involved in other international projects. It's time for Rahman mania, in simple terms Rahamania, soon in town. The entire next year will have his biggest blockbusters of all the songs as he has joined hands with bigwigs of film industry. Already he seems to have completed tuning melodies for half the songs of Endhiran. Well, he is busy now tuning in melodies for Mani Rathnam's bilingual project titled 'Ashokavanam' in Tamil and Hindi version titled 'Ravanaa'. One more biggie Kamal Haasan has roped in for his multi-lingual project 'Marmayogi'. Apart from this, one of his biggest combos with Aamir Khan for the Hindi remake of Ghajini will have the audio hitting the racks soon. -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;

[arr] First underwater song in 'Blue'
At the moment Zayed Khan is the happiest and the unhappiest actor from Bollywood. He's on top of the world because he'll soon be shooting the first underwater song- sequence ever in Hindi cinema. Excited as hell Zayed who has been stationed in Bangkok and Phuket for the past month says, It's never been done before. On the concept level itself, it sounds too outrageous... The entire cast singing in the deep-sea. That's unique-man! Hate to burst Zayed's bubble. But decades ago in Anmol Moti claiming to be India's first underwater film Jeetendra and Babita sang 'underwater', which was actually a swimming pool. So yes, Blue is the first Bollywood film that will have the entire cast of Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara, Katrina and Zayed doing a song sequence in the deep sea. A baffling concept for sure. Laughs Zayed, Yes. But you've to see how we're going to do it. The director got the concept from an ad. We all jumped at it. It's not often that you get to do something so unique. But with the excitement comes the damper. Inclement weather in Bangkok is playing havoc with the Blue schedules. Says the anxious and depressed Zayed, We knew it was going to rain in Bangkok and Phuket. But not like this! Apparently, this area has never had so much rain. Everyday we're losing precious time. Today again, we're stuck indoors while it pours outside. The producers are losing Rs. 25 lakhs per day. And moreover we can't extend the shooting because we-Sanju Sir, Akshay and I-can't give combined dates for a long time, said Zayed on Saturday. A good excuse for the unit to bond? Not really. I'd rather be back home with my wife Malli (Malaika) and son Zidaan. I miss them specially my son. I want to watch him grow, not be away for long periods from home, and miss this phase in my son's life. Zidaan can't travel with Papa all the time. He came with my wife to the Bahamas when we were shooting there. But he can't keep traveling all over. He has to develop an immunity system. I do miss my son. But my wife emails me his pictures everyday. http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/2008/09/26/11959/index.html

It's very upsetting to see that talented young directors who are making path breaking films in Tamil don't have access to ARR and these mediocre rich kid directors/producers (U16 E18, now Sakkarakatti) etc and can get ARR to score for their films. Judging by the catcalls at the silly climax, the theatre is left with an audience that obviously expected a lot from the dazzling promos and songs, but is frustrated and
[arr] ARR's another hard work wasted in sakkarakatii
This has been the nth time that ARR's brilliant score has been wasted by the directors. i am talking about the sweet cube here How many times will this happen? ARR spends so much time in creating such wonderful music and songs, but the movies doesn't match upto it. ARR should be careful in choosing the movies hereafter, i personally think he should give much priority to the storyline than the big names and producers. I guess Harris has few failures compared to ARR so far because of that. Each and every review i read so far about the sakarakatti has been bad, they all agree that only good thing in that movie is the music and BGM. I couldnt control my disappointment when i read the reviews of the sweet cube. The movie has been hyped up so much but fell flat on its first show. The reviews also say that kadalil vilunthen is far better than SK. Now Nakka Mukka will overtake Taxi Taxi and Marudhanni just because of their respective storylines. Can you guys please throw in some movies name that bombed at the box office even though they had beautiful music by ARR. I remember the following: Kangalal Kaithu Sei Kadhal Virus Boys (to an extent) ATM Baba Duet E20U18 En Swasa kaatre SOK Paarthale Paravasam Rhythm Tajmahal Udhaya Uyire If you see the above list, it even includes the big stalwarts like Maniratnam, Shankar, Kathir, Bharathiraja. I have mentioned only the tamil movies, there is a big list in HINDI too. Please throw in some names that matches the above category. Whenever ARR music release i am so happy and when i come to know that film bombed at the BO because of the story or screenplay, it makes me so sick. I couldnt find proper words to let out my disappointment. Thanks Sath
[arr] Ajith-Gautham menon team up
How come Gautam didnt offer his next film Surangani with Ajith to ARR? he has give it to Harris. I love to see Gautam works with ARR more.. he offered COM to ARR not his future ones... Sath.
Re: [arr] Khwaja Ji (Unplugged) - Listen to that voice!
I wish I had a secret friend at Panchatan :) Gomzy is right, I ripped it from the DVD. The process is the opposite of ripping the BGMs and plus 3 or 4 additional steps. It's difficult, but it's not impossible. I'm glad my efforts paid off, I'm glad you guys liked the piece. The singing is just so soulful that it is hard not to like it. On Fri, Sep 26, 2008 at 7:49 AM, Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://www.rediff.com/movies/2008/sep/26sss1.htm These days 'Youth' movies are in. Directors pride themselves on being able to capture the pulse of the urban, savvy, hip audience with stylish songs, perfect dialogues, a cast-iron plot and a quirky cast. Certainly, Kalaippuli Dhanu's Tamil film *Sakkarakatti *(Lump of Sugar), directed by his son Kalaprabhu aims to hit the nail on the head with its target audience -- but the director has failed to win the jackpot by a mile. It really doesn't look that bad when you see the opening shots: an up-market, beautifully designed house (courtesy art director Jacki) and you're introduced to the cast of characters: the hero's father (* Nizhalgal* Ravi), mother, sisters and brothers (all played by insignificant characters as they obviously make no impact) and then, finally, the hero himself, Yuvraj (Shantanoo Bhagyaraj) -- a precocious ten-year old who ogles at girls whenever he can. So far, so good. There's even a song *Elay*, which conveniently shows his transition to adulthood. He and his friends all speak swanky English, drive expensive bikes, wear designer clothes and cool haircuts. Forget the fact that none of these characters resemble the average collegian at any point. Yuvraj also, for some reason, despite having lived in Chennai all his life, has a weird American accent that gets on your nerves. Cut to his first meeting with his would-be-girlfriend, Deepali (Ishita Sharma), who wears even more skimpy clothes, tosses her styled hair often and speaks Tamil like a five-year old. Yuvraj falls for her instantly, and on his first day of college, guess whom he should meet? Yes, it is Deepali. Surprise, surprise. In no time at all, and without even the proper groundwork of getting to know one another, the two fall in love. But what's a simple love story without the done-to-death triangle? Enter the default Reema (Vedhika), looking beautiful and glamorous: Yuvraj's cousin. She too, with no rhyme or reason, falls for our hero. And when, at an appropriate moment, she expresses her love, she's given a flat denial. To give him credit, Yuvraj does seem apologetic. But good manners don't impress Reema, who's furious and frustrated. In the meantime, Yuvraj continues romancing Deepali. Which is the cue to introduce another of A R Rahman's peppy numbers and the SFX team (Ocher Studios) has gone all out in producing cowboy sets, fantasy flying, strange and wonderful lands where the hero and heroine cavort in joy or sigh in depression. Obviously, the makers decided that every Rahman number must be given its due! And then it is back to the lacklustre storyline, where Yuvraj is continuously egged on by his friends, is pursued by Reema, and chases Deepali. Circumstances show Yuvraj and Reema in a compromising situation, and Deepali promptly catches the two together. But just when you think the story's going to heat up, it flat-lines again. Shantanoo (who doesn't take after his father) plays safe in this movie: it's been tailor-made for a young hero who has little to do except romance his heroines and generally look good. Shantanoo does this well sometimes and not-so-well at others. There are no fight scenes (thankfully) so he doesn't have to prove himself there. With practice, though, he looks like he'll improve. (Why Bhagyaraj, who's a master of screenplay, lets his son choose such a pointless script though, is a mystery.). Ishita's a mess; she can't act to save her skin and when she speaks her emotional dialogue, the theatre boos loudly in protest (of course, that might also be a reaction to the terrible dialogues itself). Vedhika, whose earlier work includes *Muni* and *Kaalai* has acquitted herself well. At least her dialogue-delivery and expressions are marginally better. She's wasted though. Shantanoo's friends, except one or two, don't gel at all. As for * Nizhalgal* Ravi and the rest, they mysteriously disappear after the first reel and are never seen again. Kalaprabhu really needs to observe the world around him if he needs to come up with a plausible screenplay, dialogues and performances. Picturising A R Rahman's songs in SFX, throwing in American catch-phrases and making his characters swagger in designer wear won't make a good, peppy film. [arr] A R Rahman is a superstar !
Which part of the film do you like the most? The music. The composer for the music A.R. Rahman is a superstar. He did the music, and he is phenomenal. You tend to get very bored with a film when you see so much of it, so the music keeps it going.Also, there is a scene in the film, when he is already a millionaire, and he is driving to the studio and is stuck in traffic. Someone bangs on his window, and you think she is a beggar, but she isn't. She just wants to wish him good luck. And that sums up the city for me. It just exceeds all your expectations. [arr] Re: ARR's another hard work wasted in sakkarakatii
Sath, I agree with you only upto some extent here. Obviously, it hurts when movie doesnt do well on box office. Projects that Rahman takes, music is obviously the positive point of the project, but music gets even higher acclaim and gets on better sales if movie is appreciated. Any movie that doesnt do well, music doesnt get sold as much as it should have been. In Rahman's case, music is one giant PART of the project. Rahman's music stands out itself. Looking at the list that you posted. SOK, Uyire (Dil Se) - Rahman won filmfare award for best music director for them even though movie didnt do well. hence, movie's performance effects partially in this case. Others movies that you listed there, people know them from Rahman's music, not from actor's performance. Consequently, I would not say ARR's hard work is wasted if movie doesnt do well; his hard work will never be wasted as long as he got supporters/fans like you guys :) --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, sath.murthy [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: This has been the nth time that ARR's brilliant score has been wasted by the directors. i am talking about the sweet cube here How many times will this happen?
