[arr] Disappointed with Sukhwinder Singh's interview!
Guys, Have a look at this article from Times of India 'Rahman's become overconfident' http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/music/Rahmans-become-ov\ erconfident/articleshow/6484596.cms http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/music/Rahmans-become-o\ verconfident/articleshow/6484596.cms by Sukhwinder Singh. I think that it is not appropriate for Sukhwinder to give such an interview about Rahman. Off late, Sukhi has been a little to outspoken about Rahman and I don't understand what delight he gets in lashing Rahman in such a diplomatic way. I am disappointed!!!

*Matt Dunkley* - orchestrating and conducting A.R.Rahman's beautiful score to Danny Boyle's new movie 127 Hours, which will close the London Film Festival. So this means ARR Sir is doin music for 127 Hours :) :)
Re: [arr] Disappointed that ARR is not doing Danny boyels film
But the last time he went touring was 5 years ago or so! So what's the harm in doing concerts every 5 years? I think he is the only Indian musician who can command the sort of numbers that he did in all the regions he's toured in. That in itself is great. Fans also like to see their favourite music star perform for them and what better way than in the form of concerts every few years. It's not like he has planned to do concerts only for the rest of his life. We should learn to not demand from him all the time. This year, he may not be able to make as many new commitments as he could due to concerts but come next year, he'll back to his routine. I was extremely glad that he did these concerts because it gave us fans all over the world to see the man himself after his Oscar win for the first time in real time. it was our way of celebrating the Oscar win with Rahman- the concert. [arr] Disappointed me a little bit.......
Good reviews all over internet. But dont know vtv disappoined me personally. A full and lengthy romantic movie. A very simple story with not much twists and turns. The movie feel slow and draggy in 1st half and slower in the 2nd half. Romance... romance and only romance...But liked the climax... A real happening movie. Songs are picturised exceptionally well... Thanks to gautham menon. Please dont feel angry with me guys. These are only my personal opinions.
[arr] Disappointed with Indian TV channel's coverage of SDM music
Folks, As ARR fans, we all know SDM the movie the music is winning accolades the world over. ARR has already won 4-5 international awards for SDM music. He has also been nominated for the Golden Globe awards. As far as i know, winning international awards for music score is something not much Indian composers have done before. This is really a first of its kind achievement and shoud be given its due importance. but i dont see much people talking abt in india. its only we the fans who talk abt sdm music. if i'm not following this ARR fans group, i would not have know about ARR's nomination. I'm really disappointed at our Indian mainstream media (read tv print) media's poor coverage for SDM music. today is golden globes awards, but i'm sad to say i could not find even a single mention of ARR's name in any of our tv channels. No mentioning by TV newsreaders. No scrolling news at the bottom of the screen. NDTV - They said SDM is being nominated for the best film at the globes. they had spl interviews with the lead actors of the movie - Dev Patel, Frieda Pinto Anil Kapoor. thats it. no mention of ARR's name anywhere. CNN - IBN - A passing mention of SDM (the movie). they gave more importance to Shah Rukh Khan presenting an award at the globes!!! they had an audio interview with Shah Rukh and they ask how does it feel to be presenting an award?. Times Now - they were more concerned abt what dresses our celebrities will be wearing at the awards. they ask Frieda Pinto abt what dress u going to wear tonight. Again ARR is ignored. whats the problem with our media? dont they think being nominated for Golden Globes is not a news item? Up to my knowledge, no Indian has ever won/nominated at golden globes (which is next only to Oscars in world stature). All thru the day, our news channels were repeatedly showing Satyam computers scam, SomDev Varman playing the chennai open, etc. Agreed these are also important. but then being nominated for golden globes in a great achievement, right? why are they ignoring the music alone? if they can hype up SRK presenting an award, waht abt ARR who has been nominated for the award? Guys - can we do something about this? can we contact any of these media channels and seek for an explanation for this ? Do any of your friends work in any of these media houses? Can we approach them and find out why they dont think this news item worthy of coverage? Arun

It doesn't really matter for us fans. yes world over the music is given equal importance. world over, except in India. i really feel this news should be reaching more Indians than it is at the moment. It should get the common man talking. It should inspire people (even if Rahman does not win). Remember it is the Golden Globes, a rare honor at the global level for an Indian musician. Guys, I am quite saddedned by the fact that when asked to name 10 best scores..boss..just named Roja and Kandukonden for tamil. The rest were all hindi songsisn't tamil songs brought boss to fame... Rythm Kadalar Dhinam Minsara Kanavu Thiruda Thiruda Boys Mudalvan Gentleman why were these flims forgotten? Also...boss seems to be doing hindi flims more than tamil. I am sure there are Selvaragavan,Goutham Menon and many talented..directors..but our boss..is not available for them.. Just disappointed...
Re: [arr] Disappointed
Yeah right. You must be very proud of how ATM got him fame. Such beautiful tacks were wasted. I think he must choose his Tamil projects carefully, like for Mani, Shankar or Gautam. Not debutants and stuff. And anyways choosing 10 of his best movies is difficult for all of us including him :) On 11/20/07, anishshreya [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Guys, I am quite saddedned by the fact that when asked to name 10 best scores..boss..just named Roja and Kandukonden for tamil. YEAH RIGHT.firstly who told you that ATM songs were flop...pls it was one of the best selling soundtracksafter sivaji..for your info Remember if there was no roja,pudiyamugam,gentleman...the north would have not even recognised his music...all the thanks to tamilians for making it speacial. I am sure boss would have thought abt what he had said after the interview...coz tamil songs..and tamilians are the ones who supported him from day one. Also be informed that Boss when during his apprentice times worked closely with raja and ms viswanathan and others in the south..not north...pls... The minute...his song flops in hindi...u guys make alot of assumptions...down here in the south we value his compositions. And he is always respected...coz he is arr the boss Arr always --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Gomzy [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Yeah right. You must be very proud of how ATM got him fame. HAS ANYBODY HEARD THIS BEFORE: * **MUSIC IS BEYOND RELIGION AND LANGUAGE. I am an INDIAN. I like Rahman, I do not understand Tamil, but still do listen to Tamil songs. coz I love music! Hope fully some people will understand it one day! I really hope one day we all Indian will think ourselves as only Indian, NOT Tamilian, NOT Maharastraian OR Keralan, BUT just INDIAN * On Nov 20, 2007 7:53 PM, natarajan arumugam [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: i personally feel Rahman has wasted his music. Re: [arr] disappointed after heard the GV Prakashs interivew-he not told anything abt ARR
Hi sivaraj you are correct. In fact i was noticing it in his earlier interview. I think in this age itself he has some ego. In his every interview he is trying to say nothing abt ARR. He even call AR.RAHMAN. He shall respect him as his uncle. --- arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi ARRFans, i just heard the GV prakash interview in indiaglitz.com website. hes our boss sister (kanchana alias rehana) son. rehana is the sister of our boss and still singing in his troops and album as a chorus. she composed one movie also called Machi of junior sivaji. that GV prakash should get inspiration(200% sure) from our boss. not only him, most of the young directors will get inspiration from our boss only. hes not at all expressing that in the interview. its too bad. even rahman introduced him as a singer in his childhood days itself. he (ARR) would be first inspiration for him. but he never gave that respect to him. big talented people will grow high only due to their simpleness even though they are very talented. rajini and ARR grown like that only. but this guy too much yaar. he told that he worked with ARR for one year. thats it. i am totally disappointed. i agree his Veyyil movie music is good. he has talent. but only thing is, he should express his true inspiration in that interview. disappointed. This is utter nonsense. May be GVP wants everyone to know that he is on his own and not because of his uncle. Even ARR did not mention Ilayaraja's as his inspiration in his interviews after Roja.
