Re: 7.0.1 Client - setting sort order

2007-08-10 Thread Shellman, David
I need to clarify my reference to a 7.1 beta client. This reference should not
be taken that we are participating in the 7.1 beta program or have any other
inside information into 7.1.

We were having an issue with the 7.0.1 Patch 002 client. Support sent us a
link to a beta version of the 7.0.1 client to test if the issue had been
corrected. Which it was.

Re: FAQ for Customer enforced licensing model in AR System 7.1.00 part I

2007-08-10 Thread Easter, David
I thought I would just put all my answers into one E-mail so that there
aren't a bunch of separate threads flying around...

> Q: Will the unlicensed AR Server, which presently runs in Evaluation
mode with 3 fixed licensed and a
> 2000-record limit per table, still be available with v7.1?

Yes.

> Q: Will we (Remedy developers) now have the ability to run AR Server
(in Evaluation mode) on our own personal computer with the
> other Remedy applications (Change, Asset, etc) without having to
purchase licenses for the applications?

Licensing policies have not changed. Purchasing requirements have not
changed. The same restrictions on license usage will be in place with
AR System 7.1.00 that are in place today. Licensing is not changing -
only the need for keys.

> If somebody logs in that has a defined float license - but performs no
actions that require a license
> (say submits their own record) - will a license usage be logged?

License behavior has not change in AR System 7.1.00. Actions or
situations that consume a license today will continue to consume a
license in AR System 7.1.00. Only the need for keys has changed in AR
System 7.1.00. If a license is consumed, it will be logged as such and
appear in your usage report.

> One of the major troubles with MidTier is that it seems to generate
different versions of HTML-Forms for each combination of user groups

This has been updated in AR System 7.1.00 in pre-fetching. Each form is
prefetched according to the set of permissions for that form and its
fields. For example, if the administrator selects a form that has 75
fields, the entire form (all 75 fields plus workflow) is cached. As a
user accesses the form, the Mid-Tier will only grant the user access to
those fields and workflow objects that match the group permissions of
that user - but the original form is not cached a second time as it is
today. It's a bit more technical than this - but the general answer is
it's better than in AR System 7.0.01. The final documentation will
explain it better than I probably just did. ;-)

> you will be able to configure a ceiling for each license type, which
is supposed to correspond to the number of licenses you've purchased.

It is correct that administrators may still set a "ceiling" for each
license type. What was done in keys previously is now controlled by the
administrator. If the administrator chooses to set a maximum number of
user licenses, for example, AR System will behave just like it does
today. Licensing is not changing - only the need for keys. Note that
the maximum does not have to correspond to the number of licenses you've
purchased, although many administrators will find it most convenient to
do so. This was detailed in the original FAQ.

> I would continue the argument that the recorded values are not
accurate with the way the mid-tier handles floating licenses,
> e.g., not releasing the token when the user ends the session (i.e.,
closes the browser).

This topic is a bit tangential to the changes made in AR System 7.1.00.
The issue of the Mid-Tier not being able to recognize a session closing
when the user does not logout properly is not addressed in this release
- but the feedback from the customer base has been heard and BMC will
look into the issue further in a future release. This was the #2 issue
cited in the recently performed survey as a restriction for moving to a
web-client only environment.

Thanks for the feedback so far!

Re: Authentication problem in Remedy LDAP for passwords with special characters.

2007-08-10 Thread Axton
Well, that's kind of a nasty way of passing auth info around. Certain
characters, like pound (#) will break your url if they are not encoded
properly.

I say nasty because you are sending sensitive information (username
and password) over the wire unprotected. You may want to look into
using a forward instead of a redirect.

All,

BMC has decided that more time is needed to ensure the quality of AR
System prior to release. Based on the tests that need to be completed to
verify AR System's quality in an enterprise environment consisting of
highly available architectures and multiple BMC Products, the management
team has extended the delivery date by several weeks. We hope to make
it available on the web for download (a.k.a. Web GA) no later than
August 31st, 2007. The physical GA date for AR System will then be
Friday September 7th, 2007.

Because this extension is being used only to perform further testing,
the feature set has become solid enough that I have been granted
permission to share the "What's New" document that contains details on
the new features found in AR System 7.1.00. This document can be found
on the new BMC Developer's Network at:

http://developer.bmc.com/jiveProd/entry.jspa?categoryID=501&externalID=1
926

Here's the quick bulleted list of features:

Enterprise features

*   Customer-driven license enforcement system

* Mid-tier security attack prevention for Tomcat installations
* Forcing and allowing password changes
* Web client IP address logging
*   Safari browser support
* BMC Remedy Mid Tier performance (persistent cache)
*   Prefetching specified forms
*   Web services enhancements
*   Multiple escalation pools

* Broadened operating system support for Full Text Search on UNIX
and Linux

*   Multiple Field API Calls
* Store database views with schema definitions
* Service workflow condition and active link action

* Automatic maximizing of windows on target location for web
clients

Usability features

*   Displaying version information
*   Pop-up blockers
*   Wait cursor
*   Context (right-click) menus
* Rounded corner option for trim boxes

BMC Remedy Migrator features

*   Enhancements to Differences report
*   Enhancements to Results report
*   Ignore Prefix option
* Packaged view migrations (ability to migrate a specific view and
its fields)
* Option to keep or delete dependency and database files

Of most interest to customers will be the first bullet - the
"Customer-driven license enforcement system". Here's some more info on
that from the What's New document:

"Unlike previous versions, AR System 7.1.00 does not use license keys to
enforce limits for any license types except AR Server licenses. Instead,
customers must self enforce limits for all other AR System and
application license types, such as AR User Fixed, BMC Remedy AR FTS
Fixed, BMC:Asset Mgmt Application, and BMC:Change Mgmt User Floating.
Regardless of the type or number of licenses purchased by a customer, AR
System 7.1.00 administrators can add an unlimited number of most
licenses to their systems through the Add or Remove Licenses link in the
AR System Administration Console.

Using this link, administrators can also modify and remove licenses
whenever necessary. This enables them to meet users' AR System licensing
needs immediately without waiting for BMC Software to provide a key."

I'm sure this will generate a lot of questions and I will endeavor to
answer what I can on this forum both during this pre-release phase and
once the product is released. This topic will also be covered in a
focused presentation at BMC UserWorld. In addition, I will post a
second message right after this one that has an extensive FAQ.

I appreciate our customer's continued patience in releasing this new
product and look forward to answering questions and gathering feedback
on this new version of AR System.

Thanks,

What is everyone using now to import csv files into Remedy from a batch

Before I upgraded to ARSystem 6.3 I was using a combination of
arimportcmd.exe and 3rd party ARImport.exe by twenty4help.com. Both of

ARImport only uses 5.1 Remedy DLL's and weird that arimportcmd.exe

without doing anything.

Are people running into the same issues as me or should I keep trying?

Re: FAQ for Customer enforced licensing model in AR System 7.1.00 part I

2007-08-10 Thread Axton
I spoke with David on the new licensing about a week back; my
interpretation is: you will be able to configure a ceiling for each
license type, which is supposed to correspond to the number of
licenses you've purchased. If you hit the ceiling for floating
licenses, users will still get a floating token denied error. License
allocation/configuration/utilization will be logged on the server
side, and checksums will be included in the log file to ensure
recorded data is accurate.

I heard of no changes to the token allocation logic, but that doesn't
mean anything except that it wasn't mentioned.

I would continue the argument that the recorded values are not
accurate with the way the mid-tier handles floating licenses, e.g.,
not releasing the token when the user ends the session (i.e., closes
the browser). I use the terminology 'ended the session' to refer to
closing the browser, because once the user closes the browser, there
is no way that that session can be regained, short of forcing an
override.

Why do you need to pause an operation?

When doing pause on the server, the current thread are busy doing the
pause. And with 5 threads and 5 users doing a pause you got into
troubles.

Re: Inserting pause in workflow SOLVED

2007-08-10 Thread Heider, Stephen
One possible approach:

In active-link #1

- set a date/time field with $TIMESTAMP $ plus ## seconds.

- Display a message to the user. In the message include text
such as 'Please wait ## seconds' before clicking OK'

In active -link #2

- Run If: $TIMESTAMP $ < $zTmpDateTime$

- Set $zTmpInt$ to $zTmpDateTime$ minus $TIMESTAMP $

- Set Fields with the wait command using the remaining seconds.

Hi Stephen/Dwayne

I was trying the SQL statement, but the problem I have is; I do a Set
Fields in a field, something like Please Wait... and then call the
WAITFOR DELAY command, but instead of the field being set with the
message frst and THEN the delay happening, the delay happens first and
the message gets displayed afterwards!! completeley backwards! I tried
doing with 2 seperate Active Links, no luck, it goes into the delay
immediately, and displays the message afterwards. Any ideas?

thanks a lot

Dwayne Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

The "set fields" option worked!

In the active link I set a display field to equal "$PROCESS$
@@:/opt/remedy/HelpDesk/pause 3". (Anything over 3 seconds and the
action would time out.) The filter was the same but without the "@@:".
In both cases the hour glass displayed for three seconds then I got the
message.

I tried Stephen's "WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:10'" option, but I got
"invalid SQL statement". Is that an Oracle statement? I looked in my
Oracle book but can't find any "wait" command.

Anyway, Thank you Stephen and Fred. You've solved my problem.

Re: FAQ for Customer enforced licensing model in AR System 7.1.00 part I

2007-08-10 Thread John Sundberg
Well - I see the case that as soon as you are logged in with a float - you
suck a license - even if you have not done something. (7.01)
(At least you suck a license according to the error message provided - no
licenses available) If I change the person to a read only - they dont get
the error message - and they continue on just fine.

I am wondering if 7.1 will log a license as taken (in the above case) --
even if I had licenses avail -- because in my opinion I have not used one -
I should not be logged as using one either.

To the point that although BMC will be trusting you to monitor your license
usage - I am claiming that the logged values are incorrect (assuming same
current logic as 7.0). Therefore not provable either way -- which is going
to be trouble (my opinion). Companies may be logging way greater use of
floats than is real.

So - I think the license logging idea in 7.1 is great -- however - I think
it should only log if you actually NEED a license (modify a separate
ticket).

Can somebody from BMC validate that the above case is the logging logic? Or
am I wrong?

-John

Multiple Escalation Pools ... Yes

Subject: AR System 7.1.00 delayed until end of August / early September

**

*   Customer-driven license enforcement system

* Mid-tier security attack prevention for Tomcat installations
* Forcing and allowing password changes
* Web client IP address logging

* Broadened operating system support for Full Text Search on UNIX
and Linux

Server features

*   Java plug-in server and plug-in API
* Updated AR System Java API
*   Filter error handling
*   Multiple Field API Calls
* Store database views with schema definitions
* Service workflow condition and active link action
* Disable status history recording and retrieval
*   Simplified System Form Handling
*   IBM DB2 9.1 support
*   HP-UX 11i v3 support

*   Enhancements to Results report
*   Ignore Prefix option

Thanks,

Re: 7.0.1 client and Office issue - only in Hungary

2007-08-10 Thread Shellman, David
We have not yet. Yesterday we were able to reproduce the issue here in
the US. Not quite sure that we have been able to reproduce it
consistently.

The issue that comes up after the install is:
Error msg: Application has not been installed for the current user.
Please run setup to install the application.

Running setup doesn't clear the problem. It seems that the problem is
tied to the user profile (OS) on that computer. So far deleting the
profile and having the person login again is the only way to clear the
error.

Dave,

Is 32-bit or 64-bit XP installed? Don't know if that would affect
Office this way, but installation-wise that is a factor that I have run
into with other applications. Just a thought.

We are having an issue with the 7.0.1 client on systems in Hungary. It
seems that after the install, the individual can not open Office
documents. Log in as a different individual opening documents is not an
issue.

It's an issue with 7.0.1 Patch 002 client, OS:XP SP2 latest patches and
Office: 2003 (11.8118.8132). The OS is using Hungarian regional
settings. The 7.0.1 client install is in English.

We were not able to duplicate the issue with individuals in Germany,
Holland, Belgium, or Czech Republic.

Anyone seen this kind of issue before or have any idea how to get Office
working again?

Thanks,

Re: Window Loaded active link condition

2007-08-10 Thread Eric Cleereman (IT)
Hi Michael,

The Help File from Remedy Admin 7 shows the following:

Display - Executes after an existing request is loaded into a form, but before
the request appears in the Details Pane.

Window Open - Executes when any of the following actions occur:
A form window opens in New, Search, Modify, or Modify All operation mode.
The mode of the Detail pane switches into one of the above modes.
The form is opened by using the Open Window action.

This is useful for establishing initial environments when users open a new
window or change modes. The active link will be executed before any data is
loaded into the window, except when the form is opened in Dialog mode by the
Open Window action.

Window Loaded - Executes after all the data values have been loaded into a
Submit or Search window (from defaults, from a copy to new, or from an open
window action).

I believe if you have this fire on Window Open instead of Windows Loaded, it
should work.

Re: Java Memory Leak?

2007-08-10 Thread Hugo Visser
Hi Brian,

It is very unlikely that the JAVA VM has a memory leak of that amount of
memory. Most of the time it's the JAVA Application (your app server and
Mid-Tier) that is more likely to leak memory or maybe more acurate "hold on
to memory".

You are not running the latest 1.4.2 version however, a changelog of what's
fixed in the latest patches is here
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/ReleaseNotes.html.

Personally I think you are seeing "normal" Mid-Tier leak..errm...behaviour,
I'd be suprised if it was solved by a JVM upgrade only.

Re: Remedy and Programming Languages

2007-08-10 Thread Steynberg, Calman
Derek,

Here are some quotes from another thread that discussed this (I believe the
thread was "API Libraries for Solaris on X86):

"While we're working towards the "pure" Java API implementation, 7.1 is

not quite there (since we relied on few native modules such as

qualification parsing, rpc level version mapping logic etc). In all

likelihood the next version should indeed be a pure Java implementation

with no native code dependencies."

"Technically, yes (i.e. you can leave out the native code as long as you do not
use a native call), but ...

>behavior of 7.1 Java API in the absence of native libraries.

For power users though, I can tell that there indeed is a way to configure the
API to "NOT load the JNI stuff at all" by tweaking jni-load-mode setting
(which is subject to change/disappear in a future version). You can dare to
play around with this option and see how your app behaves . BTW, one of our
internal customers tried similar on a Mac with decent results I believe.

As there is some untested/unsupported behavior is all associated with this
tweaking - in this release, we're claiming to simply include JNI stuff always.
And hence the lack of (or need for) documenting which calls use JNI services.
For your benefit, a quick listing would be - qualification
formatting/parsing/encoding/decoding, assignment
formatting/parsing/encoding/decoding, rpc version mapping for interacting with
servers 6.3 or older versions, alert APIs. I pretty sure this is kind of
complete but I may have missed a call or two. In any case, long term, we're
definitely on the track for having these pieces as Java implementations for
future release."

Personally, I'm also hoping that the "Updated AR System Java API" is a 100%
pure Java implementation of the Remedy API rather than the JNI-based "wrapper"
API that we have now. If it is 100% pure Java, then there will no longer be a
need to worry about platform-specific binaries. I may finally get to do some

Re: Table Field - Open Selected Question

2007-08-10 Thread Rick Cook
It's a visually misleading characteristic, but it's functioning as designed.
You can appear to select multiple entries in a table, but you're correct in
saying that without a loop guide, it will only process the first one.

Obviously, from a usability standpoint, one shouldn't be allowed to create
the illusion of functionality unless it exists, but you can't win 'em all, I
guess.

"Open Selected..." option from the right-click menu, why does it only open
the first selected item in the table?

I do not have "Single Selection Only" checked on the Advanced Display tab.

I imagine this can be done with a table loop and a button, but shouldn't it
work as it claims? Or have I errored in something that I setup?

the hour glass displayed for three seconds then I got the message.

I tried Stephen's "WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:10'" option, but I got "invalid SQL
statement". Is that an Oracle statement? I looked in my Oracle book but can't
find any "wait" command.

Anyway, Thank you Stephen and Fred. You've solved my problem.

Table Field - Open Selected Question

2007-08-10 Thread Shawn Stonequist
Greetings List!!

When someone selects multiple records from a Table field, then chooses the
"Open Selected..." option from the right-click menu, why does it only open
the first selected item in the table?

I do not have "Single Selection Only" checked on the Advanced Display tab.

I imagine this can be done with a table loop and a button, but shouldn't it
work as it claims? Or have I errored in something that I setup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Window Loaded active link condition

2007-08-10 Thread Durrant, Michael M. - ITSD
ARS 7.0.01 Windows
Admin Tool 7.0.01 Patch 003 Windows
User Tool 7.0.01 Windows
MidTier 7.0.00 Patch 002 Windows IIS / ServletExec

I have a form with a Window Loaded active link attached to it. I have
no run-if qualification. When I create a new request, the active link
fires. When I open an existing request via double-clicking on a request
in a table-field (Table Drill-Down), the link doesn't fire!

No big deal - I created an active link to open the request on
Return/Table or Level Double-Click in Modify mode. The request opens as
expected, but again - the Window Loaded active link does not fire.

... I wrote this yesterday afternoon. Between now and then, I've
discovered that the Window Loaded action only applies to New or Search
mode. How can I get the same functionality in Modify mode?

Thanks for your input,

Michael

Java Memory Leak?

2007-08-10 Thread Sokol, Brian
Hi All,

The Java process on my Mid Tier seems to be taking up more and more
memory. Jave.exe was taking up 950MB.I restarted it and now it is up to
137MB. I am using 1.4.2_13 on Windows 2003 and Mid Tier 7.01. Anyone
know if this version of Java has a leak?

2007-08-10 Thread Shellman, David
Based on past history, this would be incorrect. If the user is defined
with a floating license, it would be used any time an update was made.

In truth only Dave or some one else from BMC will be able to answer this
questions. For many of us it would only be speculation.

Q: Do I still need a key for AR System server?

A: Yes. You will still need to obtain a key from BMC for each
AR System Server. To expedite this process, we've already created a
place where you can get a temporary license key while you are waiting
for your permanent key to be sent to you.

You will need the following information to request a temporary
license key for trial usage or while the processing of your permanent
key is performed:

1. Login to Support Central at http://www.bmc.com/support

2. Click on the Licensing and Passwords
  link
3. Click on the Request a Trial/Temporary License
  link
4. Agree to the End User License Agreement
5. Choose your product and enter the requested information
6. Click the Request License button
7. Your temporary license key will be sent via Email

NOTE: The keys generated on this page are 30 day trial keys.
Remember to return
to the Licensing page to obtain your permanent keys
when you are notified they
 are ready.

Q: So if I want to increase the number of AR System Fixed or
Floating Users on my licensed AR System server, do I need a key?

A: No. You do not need a key. To increase the number of users,
you will only need to go into the Administration Console and increase
the number of licenses. You will then need to notify BMC or a BMC
partner that you have increased the number and wish to purchase the
amount to which you've increased.

Q: If I upgrade AR System Server to 7.1.00, but not my ITSM
application (e.g. Change Management), will I still need keys for my ITSM
application?

A: No. License management is done by the server - so if you
upgrade your AR System server to 7.1.00, the applications will no longer
require a key to be licensed.

Q: So you're getting rid of licensing?

A: No. We are removing the need for keys to license AR System
based applications, users, and add-ons. A license is still required.
Licenses will still need to be purchased and entered into the AR System
Administration Console. The big difference is that a key is no longer
required to enter that license.

Q: Does this change any licensing restrictions?

A: No. Licenses behave just as they do in AR System today. The
difference is that a key is no longer required to enter that license.

Q: How is license usage kept on the server?

A: To gather information about license usage, each AR System
server scans the system approximately every 45 minutes and writes the
results to a file named LicenseReport.txt. This file contains a running
log of license usage for each license type.

Q: LicenseReport.txt - that's a text file?

A: Yes - and it is human readable. It could also be used by
developers for other purposes such as long term trending of license
usage.

Q: How will BMC ensure that the log file is not tampered with?

A: By moving to this license key model, BMC is extending its
trust in customers. We expect that this file will not be tampered with
beyond expected maintenance actions - for example, backing the file up
after a billing period. The file does contain an internal checksum that
could be used by BMC in extreme cases of misuse.

Q: How can I monitor my usage to ensure I'm not using more
licenses than I can afford?

A: To make sure that you are in compliance with your purchased
licenses, you can periodically generate a license usage report for each
of your AR System servers (including each server in a server group). The
report contains the following information:

- For AR System and application user floating licenses, the
greatest number of licenses in use at the same time during the period
covered by the report.

WG: AR System 7.1.00 delayed until end of August / early September / MidTier

Betreff: AW: AR System 7.1.00 delayed until end of August / early September

David,

many Remedy Users around the globe were desperately waiting for a better
MidTier Performance on initial loading and will be most thankful for the new
release.

There is just a point - not clearly explained in the .pdf - on which more
information would be helpful:

One of the major troubles with MidTier is that it seems to generate
different versions of HTML-Forms for each combination of user groups even if
those groups are not relevant permission groups form or field visibility. I
don't understand if THIS point will be improved. If not its only half way,
as persistent MidTier caching will only slightly improve performance.

In other words: I cannot prefetch forms for any existing group combination
that my users have, unless I want to wait a very long time until MidTier is
running.

Could you please provide more information on this topic, so Remedy Customers
can plan whether to switch to MidTier for a broader number of users?

Kind regards,

Christian

All,

BMC has decided that more time is needed to ensure the quality of AR System
prior to release. Based on the tests that need to be completed to verify AR
System's quality in an enterprise environment consisting of highly available
architectures and multiple BMC Products, the management team has extended
the delivery date by several weeks. We hope to make it available on the web
for download (a.k.a. Web GA) no later than August 31st, 2007. The physical
GA date for AR System will then be Friday September 7th, 2007.

Wow!

It sure looks like BMC has been busy giving us some great stuff.

I am especially looking forward to this feature:

This should definitely improve performance at the most basic level of

Re: Remedy and Programming Languages

2007-08-10 Thread Derek Berube
Personally, I'm also hoping that the "Updated AR System Java API" is
a 100% pure Java implementation of the Remedy API rather than the JNI-
based "wrapper" API that we have now. If it is 100% pure Java, then
there will no longer be a need to worry about platform-specific
binaries. I may finally get to do some stuff natively on my Mac!

Evaluation mode) on our own personal computer with the other Remedy
applications (Change, Asset, etc) without having to purchase licenses
for the applications? These applications cost 10's of thousands of
dollars, which places them completely out of reach of 99% of Remedy
developers who want to learn more about your applications and increase
their programming and administration knowledge and experience of Remedy
products on a home computer.

If the answer to both questions is 'Yes', then this will probably be the
happiest Friday I have experienced :)

Thank you.

Stephen

Subject: FAQ for Customer enforced licensing model in AR System 7.1.00
part II

Q: How will BMC monitor my usage?

A: BMC will not actively monitor your usage. BMC trusts its customers
to self-report their usage and notify BMC or BMC partner when licenses
are added or removed so that customer billing matches usage.

Q: You mean no one from BMC will ever check on my usage?

A: BMC reserves the right to audit any customer if it appears that a
misuse of licenses has occurred. This would typically be initiated by
the customer sales representative and would typically involve an
interactive conversation with the customer to determine actual usage as
compared to purchases.

Q: Can I still request BMC to help me with my own self-audits?

A: Yes. BMC will still assist those customers who wish to ensure that
they are in compliance with their license contracts.

Q: How will I know what I've purchased?

A: BMC can, upon request, provide a reconciliation report that documents
all purchases made. These purchases can then be compared to the usage
report to determine compliance. We hope to provide this report in the
future as a self-service option through Support Central.

Q: I've written my own AR System application and want to make sure I get
paid for licenses. How will I do that if there are no keys?

A: While BMC does not require customer to submit their usage reports,
partners or independent developers may make such requirements of their
users. This would enable a partner or independent developer to audit a
customer's usage remotely.

Q: If I've written my own application, do I have to change anything to
be able to use this new license key model on AR System 7.1.00?

A: No. All license requests from the applications are unchanged. In
other words, applications will still query the server to determine if an
application is licensed and AR System will still return the answer in
the same format as it currently uses. The only difference is that AR
System will determine if there is a license without the need for a key.

Q: What about my existing AR System Server? How will my licenses be
converted to this new model?

A: During an upgrade, AR System 7.1.00 will automatically convert an
existing .lic file to the new model. In addition, after installation,
the ability to import a previously created .lic file will be available
within the Administration Console.

Q: So it will update the .lic file?

A: No. Licensing in AR System 7.1.00 is now kept within the database,
not in a file. The .lic file will no longer be needed in AR System
7.1.00.

Q: What about servergroups? How will they work if there's no .lic file
anymore?

A: Servergroups will all point to a common database - and thus each
server in the group will have access to the same license information.
It is no longer necessary to have unique licenses for floating users,
for example, on each server.

Q: So can I have multiple rows of user licenses per server like I had in
my .lic file?

A: There is no need for this anymore. Only one row per license type is
needed and represents the maximum number of licenses for that type. For
example, if you used to have rows within the .lic file that represented
keys for 10, 15, and 30 users each; those rows would be collapsed into
one row that had 55 user licenses defined.

Q: But each server requires a unique key - so I need multiple rows for
servers, right?

A: Yes. Servers are unique rows, so you will see one row per server.
However servers are the only license type that now requires multiple
rows.

Q: If I don't want to use an application anymore, how do I remove the
license?
A: The Administration Console still has the ability to delete any
licen

Re: AR System 7.1.00 delayed until end of August / early September

This one seems nice:
Service workflow condition and active link action

Then we can trigger a filter command from an active linke. No more need to
do a sumit or modify to trigger a web service :-)
