AR System Server Database Connector Error: '[Database Vendor Code: 9055]'
Dear Listers, We need some help and I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on an issue we are having. We are running BO XI Release 2 as our Enterprise server and are connecting to it from Remedy AR System - User tool to run reports against our Sybase Database. All of the reports have run in the past. Some of them run and others give the error: Database Connector Error: '42S:Driver] Cannot open catalog: Message number=94. remedyp.twc.williams.com [Database Vendor Code: 9055]' This is after the parameter screen appears Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. AR Server starts with errors after upgrade of Oracle client from 10.2.0 to 10.2.0.4
Hi Listers, We are having issues getting arserver to successfully start after having patched the Oracle Client to level 10.2.0.4. Has anybody experienced any issues in this area? Check to see if your server can ping the database server by name. I had a similar issue after a client change but was evident in AIE because I was using the FQDN (which had always worked and was still working on another server), I changed to the short db name and connected no problem. In the client - go to AR Administration setup, general, server information, configuration tab. Check the "Record Object Relationships" box and save. This will require a server restart, and it will take awhile to build the relationships, so do it when you have some time where no one will be on the server. Re: AR Server starts with errors after upgrade of Oracle client from 10.2.0 to 10.2.0.4
Do you have some localised views of this form installed on Unicode server? If so it sounds like defect SW00333862. Try the following workaround; *) start the server with the older client and open the SRS:ServiceRequestConsole form in the admin tool. *) Save the background graphic image from the Default Admin View to disk (Form, Current View, Properties, Appearance, Save to Disk) and then delete it from all the other views and save them. *) restart the server with the updated client - hopefully without errors *) open the form again and add the background image back to each view and save. *) restart to confirm the errors are not present. I had already done all the copies of forms, ALs, Filters and Guides. (The manual says to make copies of everything - forms, ALs, filters and guides that are associated with the original form.) My question is do I disassociate the original Active Links and keep only the copied forms related to the copied AL, Filters and Guides? For instance, the AL Guide of SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript (the original) calls the AL of SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript. My AL Guide copy of (SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy) now has the ALs of SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript and the copy which is SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy. I would think that I woujld disassociate the original AL from SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy (which is my copy of the AL Guide) In addition, should the copied AL guide of SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy only be associated with the copied AIF form (SRS:AIF_WithBackendMapping_MyCopy) or should I keep the relations to the original forms (SRS:AdvancedInterface_WithBackendMapping and two other original AIF forms). Why K.M. continue to ask me login and password Remedy ITSM 7.0.03
Hi List, I integrate K.M. with ITSM. When I try to modify an Incident, using a K.B. solution, the system ask me the K.M. login and password. If manually I insert login e password, the procedure go on correctly; but every time that try to modify a new incident or change Tab, the system ask them againg. On the If Action tab edit the push fields setting the "Run If" equal to ( 'User' = $USER$) AND ( 'Request ID' = $LASTID$) I found a similar A.L. "KMS:HD:Create_SessionID" for Help Desk Tab. RESOLVED: Change Template Not Triggering Approvals
Found out this was because I had the Change Implementer Company filled out on the Role tab of the Approval Mapping. When the change was created the Change Implementer's Company was null. Once I cleared that field on the Approval Mapping the system triggered all the approvals as it was supposed to. Thanks Thad! The Change Template has some tasks associated to it. But when I select the change template the approval mapping does not get triggered. But If I manually create a change with the EXACT same categories it works. Then I created a change and manually selected the categories & manually added one task. Then I moved the change out of draft and the approval mapping did not trigger. I created a template that with the correct categories & no task templates and the approvals triggered. Why are the approvals not triggering if there are tasks associated to the change before it leaves draft? Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong or is this a "feature"? Re: Why K.M. continue to ask me login and password Remedy ITSM 7.0.03
Hi Ram, We had a similar issue recently. The following, is what the root cause was, and what we did to resolve: Issue: Unable to access RKM contents when selecting the [Knowledge Management] tab from an incident record with Remedy. Troubleshooting Efforts: It appears that the 'rkm_user' schema in the DB keeps getting dropped. When attempting to "Update" the database via the RKM Admin Console, the update seems to fail, and requires system access in order to accomplish this task. Forwarded RKM DB Creation scripts to dba, to run to recreate objects. After running the scripts, access to RKM still does not work. Review RKM log files. Cause: The RKM Admin user did not have the appropriate db permissions. Solution: DBA gave (Select, Insert, Delete, Update permissions to RKMADMIN user on all of the RKM tables. Retested. RKM Issue
List, I am working with RKM 7.2.00.002, and I have published articles that I put back into draft to modify and then re-publish when I am done modifying it. The problem is that it keeps the copy of draft as well as the published one. I have re-indexed and it does not go away. Actually when I set the draft to publish it goes away but when I re-index it comes back. Has anyway else seen this. Am I doing something wrong with the document? Re: Why K.M. continue to ask me login and password Remedy ITSM 7.0.03
Ram, We had the issue you mentioned and this is what I got from BMC Support. However, others on this list think that this is not an ideal solution but it did work for us. Good luck. See below: The problem you are facing is related to Defect#SW00309893 which is going to be tentatively fixed in the RKM7.5 Below is what we did as a temporary workaround to resolve the issue: If you are in fact running RKM 7.2 patch 2 please take a look at the following. With the install of RKM 7.2 patch 2 there were 4 Active Links that needed to be imported what I am seeing from other customer is either the Active Links do not import correctly. Or the active links were not imported. I would like to verify that each active link was imported correctly. If this is the case then the next step as work around to the following would be to Remove the run if qualification on the following Active Links, KMS:Main_Create_SessionID KMS:HD:Create_SessionID, KMS:PM:Create_Session_ID. Please Note this is only a workaround for the time being please test and see if you have any other issues with this work around and let me know this is being escalated to verify a permanent fix. But has resolved the issue in all cases so far. Tauf Chowdhury | Forest Laboratories, Inc. Re: RKM Issue
This is what I did and the stepts I took This is what I did 1.Took publish document and click modify 2. This opened it up in draft status 3. I then modified the document and clicked save 4. I then took the draft document click modify 5. The I clicked on promote. 6. That then saved and closed out the article. 7. This brought me back to the main page 8. The draft article was no longer there. 9. I looked at the published article and it has the changes I made. 10. I reindexed the server and the draft version is showing up again. I looked in the RKM Data folder and the draft article document never left. It seems like the problem is once I put a published article in draft to modify I can never get that draft out besides if I manully delete it. you're right, in 2.2 we said "copy". Found the 7.6 change - check the 7.6 SRM Administrator's guide - page 269 - " Add your advanced interface form to the form attach list in the BMC workflow. a Open the packing list you created in BMC Remedy Developer Studio. b Open all the workflow objects from your packing list (for example, Active Links) and associate your form, except for the four following active links: SRS:ADN:WithMapping_OnSubmit_109_SubmitRequest_CheckReqFields SRS:ADN:WithMapping_OnSubmit_109_AddToCart_SetFlag SRS:ADN:WithoutMapping_OnSubmit_109_SubmitRequest_CheckReqFields SRS:ADN:WithoutMapping_OnSubmit_109_AddToCart_SetFlag IMPORTANT To avoid migration issues, do not copy and rename the workflow that is attached to the included advanced interface forms. Re: Change Template Not Triggering Approvals (UNCLASSIFIED)
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE Christie, Review the Approval Process Configuration form and ensure the rules defined are correct for your process requirements.
Chowdhury, I am not running my rkm 7.2 with patch002. I have directly applied patch003. I have already done for Main, Incident and Problem consoles. Currently I have an issue with Requester console. Please guide me on it. Thanks Ram Rudra -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Chowdhury, Tauf Sent: Tuesday, March 16, 2010 12:00 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Why K.M. continue to ask me login and password Remedy ITSM 7.0.03 Ram, We had the issue you mentioned and this is what I got from BMC Support. Thanks & Regards, Ram Rudra -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Ram Rudra Sent: Monday, March 15, 2010 10:45 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Why K.M. continue to ask me login and password Remedy ITSM 7.0.03 Hi List, I integrate K.M. with ITSM. When I try to modify an Incident, using a K.B. solution, the system ask me the K.M. login and password. I cannot understand why it doesn't use Remedy Login and Password. If manually I insert login e password, the procedure go on correctly; but every time that try to modify a new incident or change Tab, the system ask them againg. The solution i have for Incident management and problem management are as below: 1) Try editing the KMS:Main:Create_Session_ID active link. Remove the values in the "Run If" section of the basic tab. On the If Action tab edit the push fields setting the "Run If" equal to ( 'User' = $USER$) AND ( 'Request ID' = $LASTID$) I found a similar A.L. "KMS:HD:Create_SessionID" for Help Desk Tab. I modified it in the same way and now the system doesn't ask me login/password more. and found a similar A.L. "KMS:PM:Create_Session_ID" for Problem Tab. I modified it in the same way and now the system doesn't ask me login/password more. Now i am looking solution for "KMS:REQ:Create_SessionID" AL. the kb access without asking authentication in requestor console. Please help.
