Menu Access

2009-09-01 Thread Balakumar, Viswanathan
Hi Arslist,

Is there any Application-Command \ workflow option to enable the Menu Access
(Like Delete\Modify all etc);

In other words,

I am trying to enable the Menu Access (Administrator ToolFormCurrent
ViewProperties Menu Access Tab) for some users based on certain Permissions
using the Active Links\Workflow.

Is it possible to do so? I remember I have done something similar; but not
remembering it right now.

Thank you!!

Thanks,

Re: Menu Access

2009-09-01 Thread Balakumar, Viswanathan
Thad,

I almost thought its the perfect solution that i was looking for, but
unfortunately Delete is not one of the Form Action there. (It has
Modify\Modify All etc)
Also the manual says its used in Web Applications\Mid-tier.

I think, I end up creating a custom button and custom workflow to do this
operation.

Anyway that's for the Inputs.

Take a look at the Form Action reserved fields section of the Form and
Application Objects document (pages 317/318). You can add these fields to
your form via the Admin tool. With your form open, select Form Form
Action Fields (its the bottom item on the menu), then select the fields you
want to control. Once they are on your form, you can use Active Link
Change Fields to enable/disable them as desired.

ITSM Mailbox

2009-03-19 Thread Balakumar, Viswanathan
Hi,

Is it possible to configure ITSM to use a Specific Out Going mailbox
configuration ?

Looks like ITSM uses the Default Outgoing mail box configuration.

I have another Custom application which is also relaying on the default
mailbox configuration, for which we are trying to keep a separate
Outgoing mail box.

Not sure why suddenly this error is coming in all the forms. Did anybody

HELP:SLM Application error

2009-01-29 Thread Balakumar, Viswanathan
ALL,

We are having an issues with the SLM Application.

One of the SLM Form (SLM:PenaltyReward) is corrupted (A developer did save as
of this form to create a copy or similar; that removed it from the application)
and when we open the Incident\any form that access any SLM form, we get the
Application not licensed error. The application is not licensed : Remedy
Service Level Management (ARERR 9858). We tried re-installing the SLM, but
that did not work. So, we are thinking of uninstalling the SLM first and then
install it freshly.

But when i am looking for Uninstalling instructions in the SLM-Installation
guide i did not find any.How do i uninstall the SLM Application?

Do you suggest Un-Installing and Re-install will fix the issue A form is
removed from the SLM Application ?

Environment: ITSM 7.x including SLM.7.x running on a HP-UX OS.

Thanks,

Yes. You can do so by configuring the Approval Process in AP:Administration
console.

AP:Administration Process tab Select the process you need to configure and
click View Signature Escalations set it as you required i.e. Hours\Days

Also check the Server Settings in the AP:Administration to make sure

Hi Mahesh Beijen,

Thanks for the Information.

It Work fine through the SOAPUI after setting the Proxy in SOAPUI.

When I gone through the help to set the PROXY in the Remedy server got the
Information as bellow. (Please let me know if any thing ELSE needs to be done
other than editing ar.cfg restart)

I am trying to set the PROXY in the ar.cfg so that it will work from Remedy
Administrator also.

Unfortunately I am waiting for the server/Unix Box access to edit the ar.cfg,
test and confirm it.

Following is the instructions from the help file:

Configuring AR System with Internet access through a proxy server

You can configure BMC Remedy Administrator and the AR System server with
Internet access through a proxy server.

Note: If you insert any proxy configuration values into the ar.cfg file, you
must stop and restart the server to pick up the new configuration information.

Add the following lines to your ar.cfg file (default location: C:\Program
Files\AR System\):

ARF-Java-VM-Options: -Dhttp.proxySet=true -Dhttp.proxyHost=HOSTNAME -
Dhttp.proxyPort=PORT

If you want to modify your set fields action in BMC Remedy
Administrator, you have to make sure that:

1. the PC on which the Administrator is running has to have access to
the web service (think firewall). You may want or need to install
Remedy Administrator on your server.
2. your local Java should have the proxy server set. Refer to BMC
Remedy Administrator online help (F1) for instructions.

 My 2 cents for this

Check for the error code that is returned when you click LOAD in the Set

Is this a secured WSDL ? If Yes, please check if the ID has permissions to
 that WSDL.

 HI,

I have a Proxy server in my network that stops the webservice which is
invoking the vendors WSDL in Remedy (Consuming in a set field).

I could view this WSDL in the IE (IE has configured by my network admin to
auto detect the right Proxy server and port to make the HTTP and SSL
 Transfers).

Even i could make the Webserivce testing tools like SOUPUI to view\test
this WSDL after Setting the Proxy settings in that tool.

How do i set the Mid-tier to go through the specific Proxy server and port
to make the HTTP and SSL transfers?

If the HTTP\SSL request is not going out through this specific Proxy then
my vendor is not receiving any request from my network and also when I click
on LOAD in the Set field action to consume the webservice its not locating
 the WSDL.

Hope I am clear in explaining what I am expecting and somebody can help
 answering this question.

If you are on v6.3 (or later) you should have a form called
Configuration ARDBC on your system. That is a vendor form from Remedy
that allows you to read (and Create,Update,Delete) lines in the ar.cfg
file from inside the User Tool.
