Re: Reopened date does not get populated

I had the same issue, Raised a ticket with BMC.
There reply was :

The Re-Opened date is only set when the Incident has been Closed and
the User presses the Re-Open Incident link from the Nav. bar on the left
of the Incident form. Moving an Incident from a Resolved state to an
active state such as Assigned is not re-opening an Incident.

Hi Listers,

I have recently noticed on ITSM 7.5 (Patch 2) that when i change the
status of an Incident from Resolved to Assigned (re-open ), the
Re-opened Date does not get populated in the Incident.

So, when does this Re-opened date get populated?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Reconciliation process time and power

2009-08-17 Thread Murtuza B
I have seen strange things on CMDB 7.5. When a OOTB Recon job is running
(e.g. for Sandbox), the arrecond process takes a normal 2 to 10 % CPU
usage. This does cause sluggishness, but is still manageable.
Now as soon as the jobs complete, suddenly the CPU goes to 50% and stays
there, making the system unusable for most parts. I have to kill the
process.

Let me know if you find something.

CMDB classes - auto add visual elements

2009-07-01 Thread Murtuza B
Hello listers,

I am trying to add a visual element to all AST: class forms in Asset
mgmt 7.5... (a navigation menu item in the left hand vertical nav bar)

If I add this to the AST:BaseElement form, can I make it auto-propagate
to all the sub-class forms e.g. AST:Computer System ?? Or will I have to
go to each AST form and add it manually?

I tried doing this and then ran the Update UI command from the
SHR:SchemaNames form, but it does not help. What template does the
cmdbdriver use to create the AST forms? I was hoping to change a single
template and have my changes reflect on all forms.

Thanks,
Murtuza.

Best way to organize the Dev studio

Hello listers,

I have recently begun to use the Developer Studio with ARS 7.5 and ARS

I use 2 monitor screens, since it is quite difficult to fit everything

What I would like to know is how people are organizing their dev studio
to optimally use the 2 screens and have a good layout of functions and
panes. What I want to avoid is having to move the mouse pointer
frequently between screens and to split any pane across the screen
boundaries.

Re: Question: SYS:Notification Messages

2008-05-13 Thread Murtuza B
Hi,

I have a doc that describes in detail how to add a new field to a
notification. I thk I got it on the BMC support site.
It is primarily for ITSP 4.0, but the ITSM 7 notification workflow
originates from there, so it should be similiar.
Lemme know of an email ID if you need it, since its =~ 1MB.

Rgds,
Murtuza.

I wanted to add another field (Change Type) to one of the out of the box

The field shows up in the pull down menu in SYS:Notification Messages
- however, when the notification goes out it is just showing as #Change
Type#.

Any ideas why?

Thanks!

Re: Need help on sending SMS

2008-04-01 Thread Murtuza B
Hi Kalyani,

You would probably need an SMS gateway (usually from your telecom
provider) to send SMSs.
This gateway will have an interface in the form of a web service / API
call / Database record.
Depending on the gateway, you could right workflow in Remedy to either
make an API call, run a script, execute SQL etc. The parameters passed
would be the message with ticket details and a mobile number.

HTH,
Murtuza.

Hi All

We need help on sending SMS. My client wants to receive a SMS whenever
the priority 1 ticket is raised.

Is there any functionality available in ITSM 7? Or can we use the pager
functionality to configure SMS?

It would be helpful for us if anybody share this functionality.

Thanks Regards

Kalyani

Re: Printing Tickets in Web Client

2007-11-22 Thread Murtuza B
I used some javascript on the web version of the form.
This script generates an html page with the data and formatting that we want.
It then calls the js print function to print the page.

U can call the js function in an ACTL on a button (run process).

Re: What has been customized.

2007-11-06 Thread Murtuza B
Hi Frex,

Rather than looking @ specific workflow and fields that were customized,
I would suggest you look only @ broad functionality.

If you know how an OOTB 6.0 installation works, you can know broadly
what basic functions have been added / customized in your install.
Interact with daily users of the apps.
After that you can chk what is already available on 7.0 cross them off
the list. The rest can be implemented in the new version if still
required.

It is my opinion that it is generally useless to carry unwanted baggage
from previous releases. Also, since the ITSM workflow in 7.0 is very
different from 6.0, you cannot hope to actually move any workflow
directly to the new version, unless it is an independant application.

HTH.

Hello everyone,

I am planning to upgrade to ITSM 7.0. I have ITSM 6.0 at the moment and
do not know what has been added, changed or removed (customised) in the
current installation.

One way of finding out, I am thinking, is to install ITSM6.0 from
afreash on a seperate machine and use Migrator to run a diff reports
between similar sets of object on both installations.

Is this the best way in going about it or is there another easy way?
Anything that you think I should bear in mind etc.

Kind Regards
