Re: Email notifications throws error - Remedy 9

2016-05-17 Thread Walunjkar, Parshuram
I suspect issue is because of following things
1) Does both of the email engine are running I mean prod and imported 9 email
engine. If both email engine running there could chance that exchange is
rejecting request which might cause auth failure.
2) Instead of importing arx, Can you please try to create manually mailbox and
see the result.
Hope this will help.

Thanks
Parshuram

I agree LJ.
Looks like something is wrong with the mailbox configs but these are working on
prod. I took arx backup of mailbox configs from prod and imported on remedy 9.
The password and user account fields are intact. Not sure what went wrong
during import.

Thanks!

Warren,
Check you please check the ServerGroupOperationRakning form for
ServiceFailover operation. Now 9.0 onward Email engine will not have service
operation ,so ServiceFailover operation controls the email engine. i.e
activating mailboxes service failover operation should be properly ranked and
working.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies everyone! Sorry I didn't get back sooner.
I spent quite a long time on the phone yesterday with Dolly from BMC. What we
discovered was that while my email servers were coming up, the primary was not
moving into an Active State, instead they were all in a Waiting state.
We manually moved them to Active, and the primary one started functioning.
We then made a change to the server and restarted the service, and it went back
to waiting. Dolly has my log files and is working with Engineering to find out
what the cause might be. In the meantime, I know now what is wrong and can
take some easy steps to ensure it stays up and running until we find out how to
fix the issue.

First, the technical stuff.
AREmail is running on a MS Server 2008 SP2 (Virtual)

Hi Parshuram,

Thanks

I have followed the steps. I guess they were fine, so after rebooting the
server it worked :)

But there is one more concern now Can Mapi will only work with MS Outlook or
It can also be able to work with simple outlook express

This is because at the time of you installation you have selected 64 bit jre,
so installer has kept emaild.exe and aremaild.exe of 64 bit in the installation
directory e.g C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\AREmail
So either you need to replace those 32 bit exe or you need install again.

Hope this will helps you.

Harsh,

pls. verify for the user you are using to connect to the Exchange server if the
outlook client is installed.
without the dlls you won't be able to connect to the server from your client
machine (your ar server).

As far as is remember the MAPI stuff (we are using IMAP or POP3) you need to
create an
exchange mail profile for this user.

Workaround: use IMAP to read emails from Exchange server...

If you are using JRE 7 then JRE 7 is expecting msvcr100.dll should be in path.
Following are 2 ways to solve your problem.

1) You need to copy msvcr100.dll from jre7 installation to in C:\Program
Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\AREmail folder as well as flashboard folder.
OR
2) You can set env PATH variable to till jre7 bin folder.

com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.level=SEVERE is for file log.

Your problem is for logging into form.
You need to use com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.ARSystemHandler.level=SEVERE

This will not impact other java process.

Re: Stop/Decrease Email Logging

2013-12-12 Thread Walunjkar, Parshuram
You can control the number log messages which are created in AR System Email
Error Logs form by changing log level.
Here are the steps to change log level

*Navigate to jre which email engine is using e.g C:\JDK1.7\jre\lib\

*Open the logging.properties

*Add the following line end of file.

com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.ARSystemHandler.level=LOGLEVEL

*Value for LOGLEVEL are OFF, SEVERE, WARNING, INFO, CONFIG, FINE,
FINER, FINEST

*Restart the Email engine.
Hope this helps you .

I saw this same problem earlier this year. The client upgraded their exchange
servers. When they did, they changed the number of allowed connections per
client from unlimited to 5. Figuring nobody would have more than 5 concurrent
connections. However, the email engine seems to create additional connections
every time it polls for new messages to send. Even changing the setting to 100
only stopped the errors for a couple hours, then they returned. The only way I
know to get around it is to have the exchange guys allow unlimited connections
again.

I think here is the problem as you have installed Email engine service manually
by using bat file. There might be chances that Email engine Service name
generated different than which installer create.
While email engine upgrading 8.1 , installer search email engine service name
for specific format and it did not found the service.

It seems odd that the forms and related objects would not be imported just
because the Email Engine isn't running? I didn't think the Email Engine was
use for much more that processing incoming and outgoing mail.

We routinely install/upgrade/patch with the Email Engine service disabled. We
get a message stating the email engine wasn't enable or something like that at
the end but never a failure. I had one issue a year go upgrade AR 7.5 to AR
7.6.04 where the email service would get removed and not recreated. I just
added the service back after the install using the batch file.

installer can restart it and import upgrade version of remedy email engine

I've tried a few different settings, it always seems to be ignored. Even

Is there another setting hidden somewhere in the depths of the AR System that

I used the Sysinternals Process Monitor
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645) utility to watch
what was happening during the service startup. That let me see that it was
searching for a particular file (mscvr100.dll) in a bunch of folders. It just
so happened that the list of folders was the exact same list in the Path
environment variable, in the same order. That *.dll is part of the java
install and is located in the bin folder. Adding the bin folder to the Path
was really all it was. At any rate, it sounds like you are up against
something different, so I wanted to suggest taking a look at Process Monitor to
see if that helped.

I'll check it again, but I've gone through all the (even semi-related) KB
entries. I loaded the path up with the java \bin, \lib and \aremail paths for
good measure as one of my troubleshooting steps, checked permissions,
re-installed java, removed re-added the service, used several different users
and service accounts, and on and on. As soon as I regain connectivity, I'm
going to try setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH manually and see if that does the
trick.

JD,

I had this exact same issue, you'll probably find that flashboards isn't
starting up either. The issue was that the java bin directory was not added to

Windows service cannot start probable root causes are

1) Incorrect JVM dll path

2) windows Service parameter might be incorrect.

3) different aremaild.exe version i.e 32 or 64 bit.

Also refer discussion for mapi and windows service that could be helpful.

Also customer can install windows email engine service using command.

Note: Only refer install email engine service part

That rings a faint bell... I lost connectivity and can't do anything about it
at the moment.

I'll give this a go as soon as I can reconnect.

Thanks!

It sounds like the Windows service isn't setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
environment variable to point at the directory containing the ARAPI native
libraries (that should not even be required with the pure Java API) if you're
seeing LoadLibrary (native library?) issues.

** Good morning! Could anyone confirm what indexes are OOB on the Email
Messages form?

AR Server 7.5 Patch 008, MS SQL 2008 DB

The first index contains 7 colums: Mailbox ID, Message Type, Priority, Send
Message, Parse Message, Message ID and Execute/Send at. Is this OOB?

The second index is one field, the Unique Identifier. The third one I just
created with one field, Create Date.

There are 3500 records in that form and an unqualified search is taking over 30
seconds. A search on create-date = $DATE$ takes only slightly less time.
