Good old title 39, hah.

O.k. so you have two vehicles in an intersection, you've arrived at
the same time.

Each of you is facing each other and following title 39 to the letter.

To each of you, the other is the vehicle 'on the left'.

Now what?

NJ traffic codes were written by personal injury attorneys I'm convinced.

Interesting... maybe I've had it backwards all these years. It

That statute will apply to any uncontrolled intersection, circles
included.

The manual Mario posted actually says the same as the statute (but
the manual isn't a law so it wouldn't govern if it were differnt).

First in has right of way, if at the same time, yield to the right.

Chris as to your other question about two vehicles arriving at an
uncontrolled intersection at the same time while facing one another,
they will only encounter one another if one is making a left turn.

There is a separate statute that says left turning vehicles must
yield.

That's at an intersection (90 degrees). Chris is talking about
yielding entering a circle or merging with a road. I always thought
that vehicle in the circle had the right of way. That seems not to
be
 the case in NJ.

I know that entry too! Hairy, isn't the word! I'm a driver for over
50 years, remember road courtesy, you know, letting someone into a
lane, allowing them to get over, letting them turn first, because of
backed up traffic and I still get honked, fists raised in the air, get
cussed at, because I can read their lips, etc. Road courtesy seems
to be a thing of the past, so when someone extends it to me now, I get
all choked up, that there are still those out there, that were
raised right!

One favorite example is the exit 88 Parkway Northbound entrance...holy
hell that one is hairy and it's a simple merge that people can't
 negotiate.

If people were competent drivers, circles would be a wonderful thing.

The reality is, most people can't drive, they just aren't competent.
Jughandles are a great invention, they don't allow people to do stupid
things as easily. They can be annoying, but they serve the lowest
 common denominator very nicely.

One thing I wish is that NJ would just have a standard and apply it
uniformly. Now you have jughandles in some places, circles in others
and fully signal controlled 'normal' intersections with turn lanes and
direction signals. It's bad enough being a 'local' to these
variations, people from out of the area have no hope.

I've quit riding my motorcycle here, I've given up. The average
driver is just so incompetent that it's not worth the risk to me.

I liked the bare wood plank exterior better, but i guess that didn't mix
well with what they were doing. The building looks nice regardless.
Different, which is probably why the wood was painted. The outside looked the
same from Harry's to Red Fusion. Snynaxis wanted to separate themselves as
something new in my oppinon.

well for the restuarant because people are going to notice its new and

It brightens up the avenue and looks clean. Red Fusion to me always
looked dull, dreary, and unfriendly... almost abandoned looking with
that discolored wood facade it had.

[AsburyPark] Met Hotel and Library Square Park lighting update

2007-11-26 Thread Jack Pitzer
Greetings everybody!
I hope you all had a fine Thanksgiving.
I'm wondering about something. I know that the Met Hotel got a
reprieve from being demolished. Was that 30 days, or 60? If it was 30,
they are a bit behind schedule again. Unfortunately, it appears that
the Met is starting to demolish itself. The other day, a huge, metal
piece of the sign completely fell off, and thankfully nobody was
walking underneth it when it happened. Somebody also broke in again,
this time through a boarded up basement window, but that's been fixed.
Also, I'm trying hard to not be a pain in the butt to our council, but
honestly, how long does it take to repair 2 lights? I'll give it until
the end of the week, then I'll call the assistant city manager again
and find out what the hold up is. I know Dan had some info a couple of
weeks back...but really, we are talking about 2 broken lights. Can it
be that difficult to fix them?
Fortunately, activities have decreased in the park with the coming of
colder weather...but the fact remains that the park is quite dark at
night due to the lack of lighting.

There was no negativity regarding athletics.

Just a wish that the positives (enthusiasm, energy, and commitment) could
be duplicated for academic achievement: honors courses, advanced placement,
discipline, homework.  Watch the students coming from and going  to school;
count how many are carrying books.

I just got off the phone with Terry. He is angry with JCPL,
especially since he had originally contacted a supervisor about this.
He is getting on it again. Maybe JCPL just blows it off. Keep on it
jack. The city wants you to. It is not bothered by such calls.

Again I say that there are concerned parents in Asbury that are committed to
getting a good education for the children of Asbury Park. But that is not the
debate at the time. I just trying to help the children get their just reward
for a job well done.

Breaking News: The Iraq war turns out to be about exactly what you
thought it was about, even though people told you you were crazy and/
or a terrorist for thinking it.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/11/26/17716/535

President Bush on Monday signed a deal setting the foundation for a
potential long-term U.S. troop presence in Iraq, with details to be
negotiated over matters that have defined the war debate at home -
how many U.S. forces will stay in the country, and for how long.

The agreement between Mr. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-
Maliki confirms that the United States and Iraq will hash out an
enduring relationship in military, economic and political terms.

CBS News' Pete Gow in Baghdad reports the proposals are to offer the
U.S. a continued military presence in Iraq, as well as favorable
business interests (such as investment opportunities for American
companies), in return for guarantees to Iraq's future security.

It brightens up the avenue and looks clean. Red Fusion to me always
looked dull, dreary, and unfriendly.. . almost abandoned looking with
that discolored wood facade it had.

That's true. Red Fusion didn't do much to the outside expect change the
sign from Harry's to RF. I think this new place is an attempt to revive the
whole building. The first two places didn't work out so well. They needed to
do something to change the whole look of the building.

There's a great documentary called Why We Fight that's exactly about this.
It's based on
propaganda films by Frank Capra. It's a must see in my opinion.

I am told that they need $22,000 to fund the entire trip.
