mother's lineage) for identification. His father's side was Muslim.

The name Hussein follows the H-S-N patter is an identifier of
Musllim.

He was registered in school as a Muslim. NOTE WELL: That schocl
required him to register as one of 5 religions. One of the five was
christian. He registered Muslim.

There is nothing wrong with being Muslim. That being true, why hide
his past? Isn't his hiding it the one who is insulting Muslims?

He suffers here as did Nixon - no crime, yet a cover-up.

 socialist...

How many times must he say he wants to distrib ute capital not by

He's been hears several times stating the prinsiple. His wife has

Discussion of what he says is permissible.

Unless you are Joe the Plumber. Then government employees are

That's how they roll Sharia Law countries, by the way.

consorting with terrorists,

Haven't heard anyone say Ayers isn't a terrorist. Not even
him. Guilty as hell and free as a bird is how he describes himself.

Now there is Obama and Khalidi.

he sat

 that Ayers,

- Sat on a board with Ayers
- Sat in Ayers living room
- Gave a speech sharing a podium with Ayers
- Wrote a blurb for Ayer's book
- Shared a podium with Ayers for the Khalidi goodbye

Hardly knows the guy? How many people are ther that you don't know
who ask you to blurb their book, have you to their house and do joint
speaking engagements?

Tommy answers Nothing is Coded. All of that comes from Obaam's
 actions.

Exactly. When I say them, I mean them. They are not code for
somehting else.

Socialism is another bugaboo that is thrown around to scare
people.
America already has socialistic programs like Social Security. I
pay
into it every week and I don't get to collect it until I am older
or
unable to work. That is socialism.

Since capitalism is based upon competition, the fair fight is between
those who have no impediment to competing.

Social Security is designed to assit those who can't compete - the
very young, the very old and the very sick.

That's shows America's heart.

Socialismm, by contrast, delivers capital to everyone, even if they
can compete. The problem is, it breeds laziness. Why work and be a
distributor when I can sit back and be a distributee?

That's whey when any nations slips to far toward it, that nation
fails.

Everything is coded because no one wants to admit they're
alienating
a large majority of the voters. Just the term consorting with
terrorists is a great example. Consort originally meant the
spouse
of a king or queen aka Royal Consort.

I believe the term was pals around with. Not consort.

 Socialism is
another big old scary word used to frighten older voters because it
is often confused with the more extreme fascism.

I believe it is more connected to communism, which were big old scary
people. Stalin killed more people than Hitler.

 Are we scared of
 England? Australia? Canada?

Nope, just better than them.

 POOR people often
do become very good at playing the system. It's wrong to
categorize
all people of any group that way.

There are more white people on welfare in America than Black people.
What's your point then?

Which leads to the final definition
Prejudice - bias: a partiality that prevents objective
consideration
 of an issue or situation

The whole thing reeks of prejudice and I don't say that lightly or
 often.

To disagree with his economic policy makes one prejudice? To wonder
aloud about his associations with people who wish America harm makes
on prejudice?

All women will loose their rights. How can that possibly happen it would

It's gonna be really interesting watching the lives of those people
(if) Obama wins. I am afraid to make assumptions.

Though as I write it may be the same as it was for those of us who are
afraid of the Bush doctrine. But we were right ;). Though I wasn't
screaming anything at any rallies.

Someone posted somewhere that their elderly parents committed double
suicide after 911 because they were afraid of an islamic takeover of
the US. Those are the kind of people shouting Hussein.

Perhaps I am not being clear. To disagree with his economic policy
is the correct thing to do in a political race. To woof on and on
that he is a long list of scary to your average Joe the Plumber
racial or ethnic stereotypes is not. It is inciting a bias based
upon preconceived notions of someone's race, ethnicity, gender,

Why do conservatives always have to incite fear?

I think the bigger problem is that we live our lives via soundbytes that we
hear on TV.
We have dumbed ourselves down to the point where a 10 to 60 second piece of
information is all we need to form an opinion. If you like FOX news, and you
hear
somebody say Obama is a socialist then you believe it.
There's also a big problem, in my opinion, with the overabundance of 24/7 news
outlets. I
believe that people are dumbed down to the point of not realizing that most, if
not all
have an agenda, and are being used for propaganda. MSNBC's morning shows tend
to
favor McCain just like FOX. They all have some kind of agenda, although I find
CNN and
BBC to be the least partisan.
We also tend to let others do the thinking for us. We sit our asses on our
couches and let
others tell us what's right and wrong. Our own desire to create a convenient
lifestyle is
part of our downfall. It shows up in our waist bands as well as our knowledge
of the world.
And, it's no wonder that our kids test scores are low compared to the rest of
the world,
because entire generations have been raised on soundbytes and distractions.
Kids in America who are doing their homework on computers are constantly
distracted by
text messages, IMs, Facebook, myspace and on and on. And when they aren't doing
that,
they are watching TV that brings them the world in a face paced edited way. I
recently
heard a report on NPR in which a worldwide study was done to see if
multitasking helps,
or hurts kids. Overwhelmingly the conclusion is that it hurts them, because it
doesn't allow
connections to be made or acquired knowledge to sink in. But kids think they
are better
and smarter because they can multitask, which is a false idea.

The racist fire how come you never mention Reverend Wright? A member of the
crowd yells racist comments and this is a big deal. Someone McCain and Palin
don't even know, can't even see, does it and it is there fault somehow.
Reverend Wright, someone Obama knows for 20 years as a personal friend and

doesn't please Obama he whines about it this will come in handy if he is the
next President. He is too weak to be President he will be walked all over in
the same manner Jimmy Carter was. Jimmy Carter was four years fo hell and swept

N word, but fortunately it was removed from YouTube. I was going to post it
here
Tommy didn't believe it existed.

But, you don't just have to use the N word to stir the racist fire. Watch
that whole video
above. Watch as what appears to be a nice old lady starts off with her racist
statement.
This is something that invalidates the concept that America is the greatest
country on
earth

When I was younger, I used to believe that. Then I spent years of my life
living and
working overseas, only to come home to a country where racism is alive and
well, and that
includes things said by the Rev. Wright, but, for me, it's easy to see where
his brand of
racism came from, because his race has been horribly abused right up into this
century,
and finally we are starting to see that go away, slowly but surely, and the
nomination of
Obama is proof.

Social democracy - a political ideology of the left or centre-left

In general, contemporary social democrats support:

 Support for immigration and multiculturalism.
A secular and progressive social policy, although this varies

I don't think McCain or Palin have personally fueled the racist fire, but
 some of their

have suggested that Obama is a Muslim.

To that point, it really disturbs me about how many Americans got caught up
 in the

 the whole

At the same time, there are people attending McCain/Palin events that are
 putting out
 racist thoughts. Here's an example...listen to the guy at 23 seconds in;

There's also a big problem, in my opinion, with the overabundance of 24/7
 news
outlets. I
believe that people are dumbed down to the point of not realizing that most,
 if not all
have an agenda, and are being used for propaganda. MSNBC's morning shows tend
 to
favor McCain just like FOX. They all have some kind of agenda, although I
 find CNN and
BBC to be the least partisan.
We also tend to let others do the thinking for us. We sit our asses on our
 couches and
let
others tell us what's right and wrong. Our own desire to create a convenient
 lifestyle is
part of our downfall. It shows up in our waist bands as well as our knowledge
 of the
world.
And, it's no wonder that our kids test scores are low compared to the rest of
 the world,
because entire generations have been raised on soundbytes and distractions.
Kids in America who are doing their homework on computers are constantly
 distracted
by
text messages, IMs, Facebook, myspace and on and on. And when they aren't
 doing
that,
they are watching TV that brings them the world in a face paced edited way. I
 recently
heard a report on NPR in which a worldwide study was done to see if
 multitasking helps,
or hurts kids. Overwhelmingly the conclusion is that it hurts them, because
 it doesn't
allow
connections to be made or acquired knowledge to sink in. But kids think they
 are better
and smarter because they can multitask, which is a false idea.

Sharon,
Please give my post another read. I meant that it was the same old
use of a prejudice to scare voters. The prejudicial stereotype being
that all black people, regardless of age, are working the system.
The truth being that many POOR people, regardless of race have to
become quite good at working the system because the system sucks.
The truth is that there are more white people receiving public
assistance than blacks or latinos. It is a economic issue. If
you're children are hungry then you will figure out a way to work the
system and I know a lot of people who will help you to do it too.

There is no argument from me on the history of racial prejudice. It
is very real, it has always existed and it will continue to exist as
long as people keep espousing it. That is the entire point of my
post. Prejudice does exists and it is being used to incite fear by
if not John Sidney McCain III then by those who are behind him.

Its not thinking at all, but I know what you mean. And beyond
racism, it is evidence of ignorance more than anything. And ignorance
is suffering. There is sometimes temptation in delighting in the

to imagine the existence of this person. It is not a joyful one. It is

[AsburyPark] Buisnesses closing in AP

2008-11-02 Thread Gabrielle Obre
I noticed last night that Isabellas was not open and someone let me
know that it is closing (or hoping for a buyer) and that there are
many other shops closing.

Anyone know of any others?

Town was decently busy and cheerful last night. There was some milling
about on the BW as well. I am bummed I missed the halloween party at
Mattison Park...i heard it from home and was told it was a blast.
Still excited about the italian place and langostas opening.

Another call to all AP lovers to spend your money here! Wish there
were a natural food market here.

I think the bigger problem is that we live our lives via soundbytes that we
 hear on TV.
We have dumbed ourselves down to the point where a 10 to 60 second piece of
information is all we need to form an opinion. If you like FOX news, and you

somebody say Obama is a socialist then you believe it.
There's also a big problem, in my opinion, with the overabundance of 24/7

have an agenda, and are being used for propaganda. MSNBC's morning shows tend
 to
favor McCain just like FOX. They all have some kind of agenda, although I
 find CNN and

 recently
heard a report on NPR in which a worldwide study was done to see if
 multitasking helps,

 it doesn't
allow
connections to be made or acquired knowledge to sink in. But kids think they
 are better

There is a fundemental problem with this election and that the media has taken
sides on it.
What is good for one should be good for another and that has not happened once
in this campaign. Sick of hearing about racism. Tell me that there isn't black
racism or every other kind. If you say anything about Obama or don't vote for
him you are a racist. This has to stop or the backlash will be nasty. You have
Reverend Wright, Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, to name a few that are the racist
racists you can find. If McCain had the head of the KKK endorsing him it would
be the end but Obama gets a pass. Well he doesn't share their views. Why
wouldn't that fly with McCain and the KKK?

The Arabs are the same people, that believe in the same religion, and they
still hate and kill each other. I want to know what country that you think does
not have some form of racism. I enjoyed it when fat Al Sharpton was asked that
question and all he had was that stupid look he gets when he doesn't have an
answer. Then you have his wife stating she is only now proud of this country?

Racism is continues in this country because of rants like those Sharon
generates. I don't give a damn what happened a few hundreds of years ago. You
live here and now and either you are an American or you are not. I am sure
there are people on this thread that woudl liek to speak their minds but would
have to listen to a barrage of bullshit.

Take the terms racism and bigot out of any conversation and they have nothing
to say. No one can speak because they have to listen to this crap

Obviously, you just skimmed, because you missed when I wrote this ...only to
come home
to a country where racism is alive and well,
and that includes things said by the Rev. Wright, but, for me, it's easy to see
where his
brand of racism came from...
I also maintain that much of the hatred for Rev. Wright comes from soundbytes.
Yes, he
sad bad things, but they are isolated pieces. Believe it or not, if you listen
to his sermons
in their entirety, which you'd probably never do, you'd also hear him say
positive things as
well, but we live in a negative world, and McCain has spent his entire campaign
pushing
negativity.
And what about you? For weeks, you felt that it was perfectly normal to refer
to Obama
only by his middle name...

I don't think McCain or Palin have personally fueled the racist fire, but
 some of their
supporters definitely have. I also applaud McCain for confronting people at
 his events
that
have suggested that Obama is a Muslim.

To that point, it really disturbs me about how many Americans got caught up
 in the
Muslim rhetoric, and furthermore, it's terrible that in doing so, it branded
 the whole
Muslim religion as bad for those who wish to think so, which is a horrible
 thing for our
citizens to to. I bet a vast majority of these people don't know a single
 thing about the
 Muslim religion.

At the same time, there are people attending McCain/Palin events that are
 putting out
 racist thoughts. Here's an example...listen to the guy at 23 seconds in;

 http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=zRqcfqiXCX0

And, if you search on youtube for McCain, racism, you'll see lot's more, and
 it's
disgusting.
There was a video in which a guy actually looked right at the camera and
 called Obama
an
N word, but fortunately it was removed from YouTube. I was going to post it
 here
 Tommy didn't believe it existed.

But, you don't just have to use the N word to stir the racist fire. Watch
 that whole video
above. Watch as what appears to be a nice old lady starts off with her racist
 statement.
This is something that invalidates the concept that America is the greatest
 country on
 earth

I think the bigger problem is that we live our lives via
soundbytes that we hear on TV.
We have dumbed ourselves down to the point where a 10 to 60 second
 piece of
information is all we need to form an opinion. If you like FOX
 news, and you hear
somebody say Obama is a socialist then you believe it.
There's also a big problem, in my opinion, with the overabundance
 of 24/7 news
  outlets. I
believe that people are dumbed down to the point of not realizing
 that most, if not all
have an agenda, and are being used for propaganda. MSNBC's morning
 shows tend to
favor McCain just like FOX. They all have some kind of agenda,
 although I find CNN and
BBC to be the least partisan.
We also tend to let others do the thinking for us. We sit our
 asses on our couches and
  let
others tell us what's right and wrong. Our own desire to create a
 convenient lifestyle is
part of our downfall. It shows up in our waist bands as well as
 our knowledge of the
  world.
And, it's no wonder that our kids test scores are low compared to
 the rest of the world,
because entire generations have been raised on soundbytes and
 distractions.
Kids in America who are doing their homework on computers are
 constantly distracted

I noticed last night that Isabellas was not open and someone let me
know that it is closing (or hoping for a buyer) and that there are
many other shops closing.

Anyone know of any others?

Town was decently busy and cheerful last night. There was some milling
about on the BW as well. I am bummed I missed the halloween party at
Mattison Park...i heard it from home and was told it was a blast.
Still excited about the italian place and langostas opening.

Another call to all AP lovers to spend your money here! Wish there
were a natural food market here.
