It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyesMy heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. Works every time! Now, where to put the body? Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak. Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on. Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes will Smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels and linen. Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to burning. To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm! = To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop. Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains. Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it Will keep for weeks. When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness. Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away. Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces. Left over wine? What's that?! :) To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area And you will experience instant relief. Ants, ants, ants everywhere . Don't you know that the council only tells you what you want to hear? After 35 yrs you should know that.Like you said , all they are concerned about is the redevelopment, and what goes on elsewhere doesn't matter. They don't care if those kids sell drugs. They'll just jail them and put them to work in the federal pen,so they can have cheap labor and fulfill contracts for whatever the gov or state wants. You've seen them on the circle doing gardening and whatever else. It's all a game. As far as the youth goes, some of them fell the recreation will make a difference. Not always. They need constructive programs. Stop teaching that old educational crap , and teach them something that will help them to better their condition. Why teach them things that won't benefit them in the work field later in life. They should ask these children what they would like to learn and make that a part of the educational system. Instead of the history of people who aren't their ancestors, unless they want to be historians. Please give us a break and teach them the real history of this planet,and not just blacks came here as slaves. It's a sad situation, but nonetheless, straight out genocide. mental genocide with physical impressions.We have to teach our own, and teach them true history, and not have us worshipping the forefathers who never gave a damn about us as black people. The education system is still playing games with our youth. They make us think mcdonalds is a good job, they work there to, but in a few months, they are managers, then owners. Education is the key.We definitely need to teach our own history. The curicullum in schools now are passe.That's why the children don't care about going, nothing to spark their interest. I took a business management course ,and during the history part of it, this teacher had the audacity to tell the class, no black people were here before columbus. Terrible hunh? But these are the conditions we subject our children to.All that negative rap, it's absurd. They know how to keep up with those nasty words better than they know their abc's. So a lot of it is our fault to. But the part that belongs to the others, we definitely have to fight.We can't let them or ourselves keep us at the bottom of the rung. Peace. p.s. He got the funds, sonny got the funds too, but only as a token. They knew he wouldn't last after they set up other eateries on the same street. They blackballed or shall i say whiteballed him. But after those two got the funds, they shut the program down and decided they wanted to restructure the program, so that the blacks couldn't get any of the funds. Lou once stated that he lived through segregated beaches in Asbury Park. Unless he's almost 80, he didn't.Eleventh, when he was wearing the uniform, he completely disrespected it by wearing 5 stars. Only Newark's Chief can wear 5 stars. When the Chiefs complained, Lou took off the stars and donned Eagles on his lapel, elevating himself to a full-blown Colonel, above the Chiefs. I agree with you one hundred percent. They also need to crack down on these pizza parlors and stores who are allowing the dealers to deal in their doorways and stores. They know the ones, but like you say, they are benefiting from these activities too.I even saw in the paper, i think last year or the year before when louis jordan had busted some individuals, one person said Mr. Jordan was violating the drug dealers civil rights. Seems like you don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot. So then, louie is just supposed to bust the blacks and let the whites slip away? They deserve to be busted too. It's just like the ocean police hanging on the circle, any black coming out of asbury better watch out.Businesses downtown were burglarized before louis got in office also. The blacks who are in agreement with the others are the ones who he forced to do work to earn their paychecks, instead of visiting their girlfriends and others girlfriend on duty, and sucking up doughuts.Yes those two officers you claim are out on Saturday are the ones who hang around areas where they won't have to do any work. Hanging out in north asbury around the beach, while crime is going on on the westside. But i don't know where you get your info, but i've been out on Saturday nights and have seen plenty of police. About them not being able to help you. It's not his fault if he's not in office when this takes place, go to his office and tell him about it.as far as his made up stories,remember terry weldon and all his made up crap, and you definitely kept him in.Oh please , stars , bars,eagles, hell whatever. nitpicking.If he was white you'd have no concerns about it. The thing is,asbury park whites hate to see a blackman making that type of money. I remembered when they were looking for another lawyer, they picked one that wanted twice more money than the other was getting and noone said anything.And with the director position being eliminated ,so should the city mgr position.And as many raids as i have seen, seems like to me it is a success. Title: AOL Email well if you don't know if he is qualified for the job or not , why are you downing him. When he was elected, i was there, and heard the downside from the people about his pay. You said that you only see a couple of police walking on the boardwalk, i say i see more. i ride everynight and check these things out. But i know there is racism in this city. i've seen it,heard of it, felt it. so don't say anything to me about racism.And if my statement was racist it's only because of what i've see and know. as far as proving it, i don't need to. travel around like i do and get the proof you need. I'm not racist, i'm just calling it the way i've seen it. Of course there are some great white people here as well as great blacks, but i'm speaking of the others who turn up their noses, don't speak, and mumble under their breaths. and like in the council meeting when he got the position said he doesn't deserve that type of pay. [AsburyPark] louis jordan
Title: AOL Email I just heard some news about the city mgr. not renewing louis jordans contract. It's sad that this gentleman has cracked down on a lot of drug problems that have been going on in the city. The bust on deal lake dr a couple days ago with the drugs,with cocaine, counterfeit money, was a job well done by him with the help of the secret service. I find it hard to believe that the city mgr, wants louis jordan to step down. Is it because he is stepping on too many toes? maybe some of the uppercrust is involved in these drug proceedings. Are they capitalizing off the drug money? Something is not right.Since he's been in a lot of things have changed. The white officers don't like him, and some of the blacks don't either,because he made them get off their butts and do some work for their paychecks. I saw one police officer a couple years back follow a lady home cause she was having problems with her car.Is this their job? Or hanging down at 7-11? Or telling cab drivers they can't stop on the streets to pick up fares ( i witnessed this on my own, i was in the car). He put a halt to all that madness, also the running back and forth to their girlfriends houses when they got a chance.The city mgr cares nothing about whats going on with police activities. If he sits back and takes orders from the city counsel, why should he be there. Anyone can pick up a phone and answer it. The city mgrs position is a farce. I feel a racist presence about to come about if louis jordans contract does not get renew, and drugs, will again go rampant. But it's ok if it's on the westside right? YAHOO!
