Hi John. The first thing about smugglers 3, is that it isnt smugglers 4 or 5. In 4 and 5 it is! possible to do a complete combat path, take bounties and do missions and progress, however Smugglers 3 it isnt, since the cash you get from missions just isnt enough to do anything significant, for all theyre worth doing for fun. You8 absolutely have! to traide in s3. I did however once read a stratogy guide on s3 on the old Nielsbauer forum which gave some fantastic tips on how to make money trading, although it mostly only applies to the federation. Firstly, spend time trading around Finis until you have enough for a paladin or other similar ship with jump engines and can leave the system. Then, go to Cars system and buy drugs. These can be sold in Sol for a whacking great wodge of prophit, and though you run the risk of getting court smuggling its worth it. indeed, if your a real cheater you can just kee
 p saving and restore the game if you get a criminal reccord from smuggling though this is a little scummy. keep trading drugs until you have enough for the cariage transporter or one of the other big haulage ships. Then, trade it in, buy lots of cargo holds and carry on trading drugs. Once you have enough cash, you can then buy yourself a cruser.Id suggest the Neptun although if you have the s3 addon you can also buy the Gladiator. once youve got your cruser, you can then get into combat in a big way.To win the war you need to start capturing planets. To do this, once youve got a big enough ship you can go and find a planet and attack it. This will require winning several tough battles, usually 5-6 in a row. Again, if your a cheater you can hit alt f4 on the battle screen in planetary combat until you get an easy battle (and note orbital turrets arent an easy battle, though this isnt necessary if you ha
 ve good tactics and weapons). Once you have taken down a planets defenses you can either extort money from them (a lot of money though buy this point you should have enough anyway), or make them join the federation. If you get all the planets of a system to join the federation then that faction will declare peace.Thus, you need to take over three systems fairly quickly, though this isnt easy. As regards the treasure fleet, well there you need to first be lucky and actually encounter them, since unlike in s4 or 5 you cant get special sensors to try and track them down. Once you run into the treasure fleet, you will have a similar time to a planetary combat and lots of tough battles. The only problem is that to be tough enough to withstand all the battles you do need the best and biggest ship with all upgrades, which makes the actual cash reward from taking out the treasure fleet a little superfluou

Then of course with the addon there is the little miniquest about getting married and the chance to do gladiator games, though that takes lots of money and requires huge amounts of combat. I tried this one, but to be honest I wasnt a fan of the game. Whacky combat, sprawling interface, little exploring just one qclick and a battle, no descriptions of what was happening and osme systems that were just plane crazy! it also didnt help that it didnt have a reasonable help system and some bits of the game seemed weerd and inaccessible with flash, though i wasnt sure whether any of those were actually needed to play or not.It is on my list for a db page though at some point.To be honest, Id rather play puppet nightmares if I want a browser creature game, and hopefully Braillemon will be able to be a propper accessible pokemon game.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156864#p156864

I agree. StrangerNik, cheating food is one thing, but hacking and destroying a game is a much bigger one. With food cheating you had a big advantage taking forts and destroying other clans, but hacking harms all players. If you were one of those who havent done anything wrong and were playing such a great game, would you be happy if someone wants to ruin that fun? Although you might have bluffed, its not okay to cheat and hack!Aprone, Every time you log into the game you have 100 points health. That is nice if you have no points in your health and 100% =100 points. But if you have points in that skill it is annoying. My HC-character has 16 points in health and has a total of 132 hitpoints. Ruining Aprones great work on Swamp is bad enough, but inviting others to do so too is down right dire, as well as very stupid on this forum where Aprone is A, a moderator, and B, where there is a strong anti hacking policy against audio games anyway (and even if Aprone doesnt recieve money for his games the principle still stands). Well Arcadia I will agree that does seem to be a major advantage of android. @Sebby, I disagree on Itunes access in windows. All those tree views are a pain, and theres no way to get to things easily without using them or change the view, heck, even Windows media player has abilities to customize the interfcae and show or hide different tabs. I also dislike the way on Itunes the actual tracks dont seem to be read properly, and usually i need to read the status bar to know what stuff a playlist has in it. In general Itunes seems the absolute exponent of this stupid modern tendency of throwing everything at the screen at once. This might be okay for a sighted user, indeed I suspect that is the point, but not if your visually impared and need to look through info successively. AgainThis is also why I dislike windows 7 and facebook, I dont want to have to paw through the entire screen or just learn a 
 specific route between two points, I want the relevent information I need displayed and when! I need it, and no more, as with using lists and menues in xp. Of course, this design method isnt unsummountable by any means, as I said Ive found a way to get what I want out of Itunes, but its like the difference between having every cd you own piled at random in a heap meaning you must dig through a lot of stacks to find what you want, and having them indexed and shelved properly meaning you can simply go to the ones you want quickly and disregard all the rest. Of course it wouldnt be a problem if there was an interface choice about what to show or hide so that everyone could have their preferences,  but customizable interfaces seem to be going the way of the dinosaur.Again, this is why Winamp is awsome! You can just! have what windows open you need and no more, or even
  have them all open at once if you wish, can swich between them with ctrl tab and only be bothered by the window your in. On the basic playing window the interface just gives basic playing information about what your doing, not every single random function of the program whether you want to use it or not or even are! using it at the time or not. Id be interested to know more about virtual machine xp on a mac, how it works, how hard it is to setup etc, since failing a semi decent next version of Windows that is likely where I go. hi@darkthere is indeed a certain lack of exploration, wich dissapointed me as well. thats also a reason for me why i hope braillemon will have a small story to explore within a small amount of time. but i dont have to push rachel to much cause that will hurt the quality of the game that she has in mind.i also thought at first that tpmrpg is to unaccessible to play but the simulator is one of the parts i tried and found to be unaccessible. but that part isnt necessary to play the game. the minigames are also unaccessible i suppose but that i havent tried yet.all necessary parts to play the game are accessible. but i have to say that my pokemon do some unbelievable amounts of damage.like my fereligater ... when he (or she, still have to find out ...) fights against a pokemon of level 1000 it slays it with a damage of 3 hitpoints!in my memories of the gameboy games i never had seen a pokemon doing such damage. again a

hi.i am also scare of sounds, and also some objects. im not afrade of dark, but im althow scare of it if the dark mixed with water. i mean a place with water where is a dark in there. im very afrade of gravel. if i touching a little stone, i running away. i had also a nightmares with scary sounds. the scary sounds are in the end of the dream. sometimes someone begines to talk in hebrew or russian, because is the only 2 languages which i dreaming, and this person sometimes begins to make a scary noices like u! fu! ohohohohohoniuhiuhiuhuhiuhiuhiuhiuhiuhiuh! bzzz! and etc. when i was a child and now im 15 years old, i have dreamed a nightmares which the end of them was that i was on a slide like the slides for children in parks, and this slide made a scary noices because it had a electronic motor and i sled on the slide with my ass. after that when i was 7 years old, it became (turned into) a nightmare with the
  bed turning around. i was liing on my bed, and it turned around like a carusel. sometimes in the nightmares there are a standart objects like a tape, statue, a television made a scary noices. but in this year 2013, i had only 3 or 4 nightmares. but there also a sounds which i like to hear, but no more people i think will be interested to heare that sounds. i like to listen to darkpsy music. tipe of trance. it is grate! maybe it is offtopick, but there is no topick about favourite sounds. also i like to listen to the following sounds, maybe you not belive in that guys.i like to listen of the noices of the heart and the stommeck. sorry about the spelling error guys, but i hope you understood that. so, maybe your question is how i doing that. i puting my ear on someones stomeck (more of this people are girls and women) and listening to the noices inside the stomeck. also i listening to the stomeck of myself. i puting my recording device on the stomeck, and recording that,

It was written to be sorta-kinda general-purpose, in which case it would need to check all of those variables before deciding that a given tile was part of the path. Itd be more intuitive to just use several ifs to catch all of those, but since it could return a bool, it seemed more efficient to cram it all into one statement.Camlorns suggestion with the array of directions seems like the simplest (and itd be quickest to execute). this does sound a very interesting project and Ill sign up myself for testing, but Id also appreciate some more inforamtion. Is it more like a radio play where there are various actors,
  full sound environments etc, or more like a narated story with one single actor reading descriptions of what happens. How much background sfx are there in the game? Finally, Mmorpg implies player interaction and online locations to explore, as well as possibly some rpg features as Mike said such as combat, levelling etc. Some Mmorpgs also have player cooperation or player competition too. Hi Dark.To answer your question about Virtual XP on a mac, I did it in a way that most people probably never thought of doing.So, I have a couple of physical XP machines already that have all the programs and everything I want for WIndows.So, I installed this program called vmware V Center converter onto the computer.I think you need sighted help to use this program though I think it can be navigated with your screen readers review cursor. I just went with the sighted help.Basically you go through a creation wizard.I forget the steps but you basically choose if you want to create a VM from your local computer or a computer on the network. Then, you choose which version of vmware you want to create it in. I dont think this really matters though.Then you choose where to save the virtual machine files.Once all that is done, the setup window will close and as far as I know there isnt a real way to tell how far its going.What I did was navigate to the directory 
 containing the vmdk file and watched it grow.This can take a long time, depending on how much stuff you have on your computer.If you have a lot of data, it could take a couple of hours, maybe more.Anyway, I waited about an hour and a half until the vmdk file stopped growing.Then, I took the virtual machine files and copied them to my mac. I then imported the VM into vmware fusion and it worked like a charm.It makes a complete copy of your original machine including documents, programs, system settings etc.You can also install Windows but I dont have a Windows install CD so went with converting a physical machine and anyway the WIndows setup isnt accessible. Stupid, stupid Microsoft. Apple got this right a long time ago.Anyway, getting back to virtual XP.When I loaded it up, it threw up a few errors saying it couldnt install some base system and something else.I tried installing these drivers but it failed so I just checked the do not tell me about this again checkb
 ox.For the most part, it feels like running a physical XP computer. I do get freezes sometimes, though I suspect that has more to do with the fact that Im running it on 240 megs of ram on a really old mac.This shouldnt be an issue for you if you plan on getting the new macs with 4 or 8 gigs. I would think XP would work flawlessly on a gig of ram.The errors about installing those system base drivers and something else about video dont seem to do anything, audio and all the essentials I would want from WIndows still works just fine.Oh, I should also say that it may throw up an error saying hardware has changed and Windows needs to be activated again.Just choose next and it should do it on its own.Not sure how it does it but yeah.Stupid Microsoft with their stupid activation crap. Well regarding refined ore, Ce works a little differently. its generally best to just build up a set of resources and then see what people are wanting on the galactic buyers markit, since even something simple like water or oxygen is needed in great quantities. People dont tend to buy Refined ore often, since its only got some specific uses, though its worth building up with ddrones, and of course all the other ores you get from mining are needed by crafters, and you dont know what different people will need so its always wise to hold on to stuff, indeed Ive never sold directly to jos in game at all but always wait for a price on the gbm. At the moment its the resources you get by derelict exploring and the ones from the expanse galaxy that really! can make cash, but obviously the expanse is rather hard to get into. So glad this topic came up, because I have been wanting to tell about 2 certain recurring dreams that I used to have. If my tutor comes in a few minutes Ill edit this post. But anyway, first to answer your question. I used to be particularly frightened of the sounds made by the Speak n Spell and the Speak n Math at my parents house, when the batteries needed replacing. I honestly thought for some odd reason, that the voice inside the Speak n Spell would come out of there and bite me. I remember the pitch of the thing went continuously up, and then eventually it made a sort of spitting and scratching sound. The Speak n Math got all fuzzy when his batteries went, and he sounded as though he was in the shower talking to himself. It was very weird I admit, but there you go. Now to the dreams that I mentioned. One was of my bed spinning around slowly in midair. The other was of this plastic lion that stood guard at my shut bedroom door at night, but 
 he was actually really friendly. Ive never been able to see anything but light and dark, so I therefore cant tell you any other stories of being afraid. Regarding thunder, I have always found it to be rather peaceful. I love storms, not snowstorms but the other kind. Another sound I always liked was sirens, such as those of ambulances.  . ofcorse the electronic piano and the toy piano making a diferent noices. but in the dream, suddenly the toy piano insted of doing its sounds, started to make the electronic pianos sound. and the electronic piano was in the dream also in motis room. when i touched it, it started to change its form and turned into my grandmas tape. but it is not only my grandma, but i am also still using tape. i have a draur full of casets, and i can listen to them. but it not the subject now. the thing is that the objects or made other things insted of there things they must do, or changing form of other objects. also that thing was in other dream, but it was a good dream. there my science teacher from my priveous school was lyded on my grandmas sofa, and then she turned into my father. it simular like in the fantum mantion in disneyland: some woman on the sofa turning to a tiger. it is wright? i never was in disneyland, because i was in israel allmost all my lif

Hello. Well, you guys remember those robosoft voices that used the sapi4 Microsoft speech tts engines? Well, I just thought it would be amusing if I made robosoft 7 and 8 voices using ESpeak max. Lol! Ill post the link when its up. I also maid Ricishay Max, taking on my favorite double talk voice Ricishay Randy. hi all, I do have a couple of questions for you all and again, sorry for asking to much here, but regarding apache2.4, does anyone know how to set authentication for a directory outside of the Document root directory? I have an Alias pointed to another whole new directory on my server and I would like to have it authenticate with a surten username and password. I would like to have it authenticate with a.htaccess file if its possible to do. But another question. Do I have to create another whole .htaccess file and put it into that directory? Or can I try and authenticate with the .htaccess file that I already have? now, on to disk quotas. Im running a linode with ubuntu 13.10 on it and Im trying to enable disk quotas for my server. how ever, Im getting Unable to stat, /dev/root, no such file or directory. I have asked this in the linode forums and even was asking it in a support ticket that I had opened but, the guy told me that I didnt kn
 ow anything about quotas. So Ive asked in the community forum at linode. but, none seems to either get it on there, or just not helping. This is kind of needed because a friend of mine wants me to host a site and she wants a surten amount of file space. She doesnt want all of the file space that I have available she just wants part of it, like, only up to 5 gigs. Anyways, if you guys can help with these questions, I would be very grateful. KoL Problem in IE

Hi,This is for any of you who have had similar problems or who play KoL on a Windows 7 PC with either Ie 9 or 10.KoL is supposed to have four frames. However, when I log in using IE, I get only the chat frame. This has occured under both IE9 and IE10, and I am having to resort to Firefox. I know there are those of you who swear by Firefox, but it does not work well with KoL at all. For one thing, when I load pages the main frame is prone to disappearing on me and I am forced to press f5 and refresh thus bringing me back to the main KoL screen. In addition, the clickable graphics which correspond to items in the inventory, are absent; the only way to ssee an item description is to view it as I obtain it. Forgot to mention that I was also scared of the fire alarm at one of the elementary schools I attended back in Pennsylvania. Apparently I was so scared of it that some of the staff--including an itinerant teacher of mine--saw fit to record several instances of the alarm on cassette and send me home with it. I was at my In-laws with no internet for most of yesterday, and I found myself just messing around with some code to keep myself busy. By the time I left to head home, I pretty much had a crude turn based strategy game on my hands. I spend this morning making it a bit more accessible, and writing up some basic documentation. I have no idea if this will be fun for people, but it cant hurt to toss it out there!www.kaldobsky.com/audiogames/communityfeud.zip(3.5 MB)Im going to paste the games current readme here, but before I do I want to explain why Id like people to join in on a dropbox folder for this little game. Normally you play a game and you have a certain set of units, like elves or wizards. The game creator decided what there should be, and he/she balanced it to get the desired effect. I, Aprone, am lazy. The rest of

I did not design units for the game, instead I made it so that the community can do it for me.Creating new characters is as easy as filling in some information in a text file (instructions are included with the game). You can customize it with some MP3 files to give it a bit more life, and then share it in the dropbox folder. The game takes the character stats and determines a price within the game, so it should help balance things while different people are making their own ideas for monsters, machines, soldiers, and stuff.My original plan was to have each character in the game be someone from the community, and you could only hire 1 of each person in your army. With a good number of people designing characters, that would work out great! The problem is that I only took the time to toss like 5 sample characters together, so the game currently allows you to hire duplicates.Getting that many commu
 nity members to make themself as a character is possibly a little unrealistic. The more likely scenario is that a handful of people will be willing to make quite a few characters, which means we would have to expand out away from just using community members. Assigning a theme to the game would be pretty easy, but I think the fun will lie in the absurd combinations of themes. I foresee a Tyrannosaurs doing battle with Frosty the snow man, and Dark hurling fireballs at a Grue. If everyone makes a few things, we will quickly have a pretty fun variety of units to choose from.Okay, here is the readme. Please keep in mind that this game is extremely crude! I wouldnt release it at this stage except Im out of time and will be jumping between shifts at work for like the next month. I should have time to stop in and invite people to the dropbox, since that shouldnt take more than a minute. So if you want to

Before I forget, please do not actually run your copy of the game from within the Dropbox folder. Yes that would save you from having to copy and paste new units into the game, but it is not a good idea.Community Feud, by Aprone=This game is currently in a very very rough beta stage. Basically it barely runs, hahaha.Overview:  Community Feud is a small turn-based strategy game, where you must defend your base against invaders. The map itself is 4 roads branching out away from your base, leading North, South, East, and West. Along each road there are 10 spots (locations), numbered with 1 being right next to your base and 10 being as far away as you can get.  With each turn, enemies from a small army begin moving into your t
 erritory and heading down the roads to reach your main base. If any make it all of the way there, you lose. To defend your base, you may hire soldiers to defend the roads. Only 1 soldier is allowed per spot and you cannot sell them or move them once placed. The soldiers different roads can not help each other, so you must treat each road as a completely separate path you must defend.  Invading enemy soldiers must reach your troops before they are able to attack, so you have an advantage when it comes to range. Hopefully your soldiers can do enough damage to kill enemies before being harmed themselves. If you kill the last enemy, you win.  You gain resources in 2 ways. Each spot along the roads is worth a certain amount of a resource. By hiring a soldier to guard that location, you will gain those bonus resources each turn. The further from your base the location is, the higher the resources are
 . This is meant to reward you for setting your troops closer to the front lines. The other way to gain resources are to hire economy characters. These characters can not hurt enemies, but rather generate income. Having a few of these is a must, if you wish to survive for the long term.Controls:- Tab changes through screen reader options.- +/- adjust the Sapi speech rate.- Z displays how many resources you have. Scientific war? I dont remember that one, also treasures of a slavers kingdom has been out for a long time, unless there has been an update I dont know about. Myself, the games that have impressed me most thus far this year (baring in mind I havent tried the japanese stuff due to hassle), are Papasangre 2, for unique controls and great audio, and several updates to games like Swamp which have been awsome. Then of course lets not forget Braillemon! I think that definitely deserves a mention as a very unique project which has great potential and is already very playable. Weve really seen games in nearly every category this year, from mmorpgs like Reborn to simple puzzle and dice things like Gma cards and the new Blind gamers releases (I do enjoy their whist), to things like Inquisitor, indeed just trying to remember all! game releases this year is somewhat difficult, especially counting many game update

Well S3 as I said was before the profession system meaning that treading is really the only way to make big money. On the plus side, you dont have! to trade once youve got a big enough ship meaning you can pretty much drop it, and if you take the stratogy of doing drug runs from Carsen or New manchester to the Sol system you can make money pretty quickly. Not being as much a trader fan though i will say I do prefer the later games for this reason. Im not sure if orbital turrets only appear in the addon or not, since Ive always owned the addon as I didnt see the point being without it. I do know the Addon does make combat generally in s3 much more interesting since there are more ship types and weapons to play with, for all its not quite as intricate as in s4 where the system got utterly redesigned,  much less s5 which can get pretty complex.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156927#p156927

playing through this I did find some big bugs. I know that its really rough right now, but its good to know thist stuff:you can hire stuff on position 10 of your paths even when it says you cant.I think that damage is being calculated badly. I have a unit with -10 armor in everything and he still takes 0 damage from some attacks. shouldnt he take at least -10 damage no matter whatloading the game a well as starting a game from the main menu both take several seconds. Is this something that you can fix?No sounds are playing for the units. Ive never had that trouble with KoL in ie8, but its possible that monkeying with the viewing options will be helpful, since you can show/hide bars, change displaying of inventory images and even use the compact mode which gives dropdowns instead of links at the top and makes some other changes. I suggest having a play with those since you might find something more compatible.Ive never had a frame issue in KoL, but I have done in Metroplexity, which uses a very similar interface (it being something of a KoL mod), which was much as you describe, being stuck in the one frame and stuff not showing up. I eventually determined that the cause of this problem was zoom level, and once set to 150 percent it sorted itself out. That is also something you might want to try. Btw, I dont like Firefox either,

Aaron, I guess you could think of it as a Christmas present. It is December. I was searching online for some sounds to use, to make a few characters myself, but all of the sound clips Im finding are complete crap. Anything I find that is from a TV show or movie has the background music in it still. Oh well, I suppose I should leave the sound stuff to the pros who have existing sound collections. [[wow]] you were right about the damage calculations! Ive corrected the typo so damage should work as it was intended.I tried a few times but I cannot get enemies to attack one another. Until Im able to get it to happen to me, I probably wont be able to fix it. Looking through the attack code seems to be right, but that just means the bug is probably hidden in some other location.I also wasnt able to get the Shift + Z to display the wrong numbers when I went in there to repair it. Im pretty sure I saw it mess up earlier today, but now that I want it to it wont. I like the random number idea! Hey folks. Well, Im a quite odd guy too and this post is going to be long. If for some reason you want me to throw it away just ask and Ill understand.I was able to see untill I was five years old. Cant remember being afraid of the dark or such, but my sudden fascinations really scares me. I always had a strange joy with things regarding the color red. Yes, fruits, and almost all sorts of red things. Even the smell of some weird things like blood.For the fear of the dark, well I guess I could feel it when I was 3 or so. But I wonder if it happens only with me. My blindness didnt turn all to black. Instead its a kind of blinding blank screen right infront of my face all the time.About the slimy things, Im not exactly afraid of them, but just to be in touch with this kind of stuff makes my body automatically stay away.Well, one thing I was really afraid of were churches, prayers and music boxes. I still feel a deep sadness when 
 I hear this kind of thing now a days.One thing that keeps me blaming myself in a non sense way is when I interrupt other peoples speech. It all beguns when I accidentally teared a book about cooking my mom was reading out loud. Hi Munawar,Thanks for sharing!I am also developing audio games in .NET.FYI, System.Speech.Synthesis.Synthesizer has a known memory leak.Microsoft has decided not to fix it according to the bug filed here:http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStud … emory-leakThat said, this .NET wrapper is the only thing with the leak.You can use the interop.SpeechLib COM object directly to avoid the memory leak.Or I think there is a way to compile against the SAPI 5 stuff directly in C++.I switched to the COM object and it seems to work fine on my machine with no leaks, but someone did report that its responsiveness is a bit slower than the .NET version was.I have not noticed the lag personally though.If youd like I can grab my code for working with the SAPI com object and get it in a form suitable for sharing.The COM object is not quite as friendly as System.Speech is.Long ago I believe Quentin C said that he had noticed the slowness in the COM object and so had compiled against SAPI directly in C++ for his screen reader API.I didnt take much notice at the time since I was using System.Speech.Synthesis and didnt know of the memory leak.But someday it would be nice to try the C++ SAPI stuff directly without COM to see if it fixes the lag.It is a fairly slow leak. I wasnt planning on posting in this thread, but I have recently been thinking about something that occurred several years ago. That is, a voc/rehab person in my state asked me out of the blue if I had ever been suicidal. Let me say for the record, and for claritys sake, that I have never given any thought to ending my life in any way whatsoever. Needless to say this question came as a total shock to me. I responded to this b***h by saying exactly what I said here, i.e., that no I have never been suicidal nor do I wish that on others. I honestly cant help but think what if I had answered yes to her question. Would she have actually gotten me the appropriate help, or would she have just laughed me off, or what? At the time I didnt really think to do anything about this, and I think there were 2 reasons for me not doing anything. The first being that I didnt want to get in trouble. I kinda wanted her to get into trouble, but at the same time I didn
 t want anyone else--myself included--to get in trouble. The second reason, perhaps somewhat related, is that I didnt think anything would have been done about it. I thought that more than likely, if I had reported her she wouldve simply gotten a slap on the wrist and told not to do that sort of thing again. Thoughts anybody?
