Hi.Oh, I thought that was a moves list only. Lol. Damn, this guide is awesome, really, awesome! This guy is gennerelly really great at writing guides. I have read many of his walkthroughs, and really enjoied it.So, I thought my ps3 was downloading a new firmware, but no. Sony forced me to change my password, and now I'm stuck, because I have to enter my new password. Does somebody know where to enter the password on the login screen?I'll work on a guide which describes all the menus in the game and how they work. I'll of course share this if people are interested. But first, I have to fix my ps3. URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160564#p160564

Re: Jeqo Prime (V0.1B), and other Jeqocon Console updaes

The story mode and unavailable characters both await more voices. I could conceivably get one storyline in with the voices I have (or two if the second is treated kinda weakly), but that would go much better if I had the missing voices.Just keep in mind that the online play hasn't been thoroughly tested, and it will probably take a couple rounds of bug-fixes before it's all that great. Hopefully, it will work on Co Op as well as versus battles. (I'd like it to be available in appropriate sections of story mode, but I have no idea how I'd pull that off, unless the guest player is only around for fights and chat messages; combining the exploration element would be a bit difficult.).URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160576#p160576

turning off the sleep mode in jaws

Hi,My username is Thunderfist799. I joined the forum yesterday. The reason why I'm posting this message is because I'm having a problem with my jaws. I run jaws version 11.0 and turned off the sleep mode in jaws when I was playing battlexone. Unfortunately, I now can't use BGT, so I need help. Can someone please tell how me how to turn off the sleep mode in BGT? I can't even log into the configuration  manager.I would have posted this to the "general games discussion," but I'm not using BGT for gaming purposes, just for learning, so I was unsure as to whether posting it there would be inappropriate.Best,ThunderURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160578#p160578

Working on a guide for Injustice, if people are interested

Hi all.If enough people are interested, I'll work on a guide for Injustice, the very accessible 2D fighting game for ps3, ps4, XBox, Psp vita, Nintendo and pc.I have already got most of the menus, all important menus. I hope I can get some help from some of the more experienced players, regarding to combat, and how things works out from a blind gamers perspective. If you say go for it, I'll create the guide in the articles room, where I'll start out by explaining the menus, the basics I know, and then use this topic to discuss how things works, get tips and explanations which I then will put in the guide. I know many people knows much more about this game than me, but I'm willing to put together what I find relevant for such a guide.I've found an awesome an detailed guide on gamefaqs.com, so I'll only mention what's relevant for blind gamers which this guide doesn't mention.Comments and ideas are very much appre

If  they are readable pdfs, it shouldn't be a problem provided you use the write version of Adoby. To be honest I confess  most superheroes just haven't really interested me,  especially the sort of  Marval and dc sort in the very vanilla films we have  now. They always seem to be of the theme  loser likes girl  but is failure, loser gets  powers,   loser gets on with girl, loser get arrogant,  loser and girl fall out,    villain kidnaps girl, loser is depressed, loser cheers up, loser defeats villain, loser rescues girl the end! Either that or they're all gruff and anxty and "oh no, I have awsome powers and everyone thinks I'm great, my life is so hard!"  That aside from the fact that much of the universes seem illogical when you get into mixing aliens, mutant humans, ancient gods, super science and goodness knows what. The only super heroes that
really interested me were the x men, and that more for the conflict of  mutants with powers and ordinary humans (and yes I know they're marval rather than dc), but even that went insane with them fighting aliens and god knows what, and the films just got worse. Of course, there are exceptions. The Anime Tiger and bunny which features an x men like setup with mutant humans, but also does all the super heroes in a very twisted way by having them sponsered by tv programs was something I really enjoyed, i also love the original Tim Berton Batman film, not to mention Kick Ass (though those aren't really super hero films), and the rather twisted Superhero podcast Secret world chronical (you've got to love anything with evil alien steampunk mecha nazis! though admittedly it's dragging on a bit for the last few series). In general though i confess I'm not really a Super heroes fan, especially of all the very vanilla  hollywood films that seem

it would. by the way, a good combo that does a fare bit of damage for most chars is back and heavy attack, then when they rebound off something, do it again, idk what the timing is, but my cousin uses it all the time for stage transions and does a heep of damage.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160595#p160595

[Audiogames-reflector] Describing pictures for blind people

2014-01-04 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Off-topic room: BlackBird

Describing pictures for blind people

Hello there. I'm working on a project where I need to describe different pictures for blind or vision impaired people. Some pictures show landscapes other show buildings or objects like statues. My problem is that I am a very visual kind of guy. I'm not visually impaired and if I describe something I will eventually mention patterns and colors. I'm wondering how I should approach such a task in order to make interesting, meaningful and actually usefully descriptions of the previously mentioned pictures.Let me make an example so you know what I'm talking about. The picture is called the crimson forest. The trunks of the trees shine in pale white under the setting sun while their leaves rustle in various shades of red in the soft southern wind. A small path made of stones awkwardly finds its way among the trees. The stones are partially covered by the dead and now brown leaves of the surrounding trees. As you can read I'm using quite a few expla
nations of colors, hues and other visual cues. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make such a description for people who might not be familiar with colors and light. I'm aware I should probably use tactile information and sounds. The problem is, that those things don't actually exist in the image. I have already invented the rustling leaves and the wind above even though the picture shows not the slightest hint of it. How do I remain authentic and true to the source while describing it in a way that blind people might appreciate?Do you have either any advice or any examples of something like that?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160596#p160596

Re: iOS text game, A Dark Room, update released

A Dark RoomBy Amirali RajanDescription An unforgettable journey that starts small and slowly becomes much, much, more.A minimalist text adventure by Michael Townsend.Developed at doublespeak games and inspired by Candy Box.There are several locations that the player will encounter throughout the game. Performing certain actions, building different structures, purchasing key items, or finding special areas on The World will unlock specific locations. The player begins in A Dark Room. The only option presented to the player is to light the fire.Once the dark room is lit, the room will become A Firelit Room. The Firelit Room can be upgraded to allow the player the ability to build a variety of structures, craft weapons or supplies, or buy resources from the Trading Post. The Room will report its temperature and the status of the fire whenever entered. The fire may be flickering, burning, or roaring, which will cause the room to be mild, warm, or hot respectively. If not stoked for a period of time, the fire will degenerate from roaring to burning to flickering, with the room cooling as it goes. If the fire tries to fall below flickering, Builder will stoke it automatically to keep it lit. Since Builder generates a constant +2 wood per 10 seconds, it would seem to be impossible for the fire to actually go out (and the room to drop back below mild) once burning. If the temperature gets too low, the builder refuses to build. Other than this, the state of the fire and temperature of the  room do not appear to have any impact on the rest of the game after the builder recovers, apart from causing a  Buildingsconstant slow consumption of wood.awake. head throbbing. vision blurry.A Dark Room Version 1.2 Enhancements for the vision impaired.$1.99Updated: Jan 03, 2014Version: 1.2Size: 5.3 MBLanguage: EnglishSeller: Amirali RajanRated 9+ for the following:Infrequent/Mild Horror/Fear ThemesInfrequent/Mild Mature/Suggestive ThemesCompatibility: Requires iOS 7.0 or later. In this way, it is typically advantageous to carry a variety of weapons, as their carrying cost is generally outweighed by the benefit to simultaneously attack with multiple weapons in battle. [Audiogames-reflector] Tips for gaming on a Mac in VM Ware Fusion

2014-01-04 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: SLJ

Tips for gaming on a Mac in VM Ware Fusion

Introduction:This article is written to give some tips on how to make gaming on a virtual Windows pc the best experience ever. Some people say you can't play Windows games effectively on a virtual machine on a Mac, but I tell you this is not true. There are a few games where the virtual machine doesn't react fast enough, but I have played most audio games with success on a virtual machine, and I would like to share my experiences on how to do that.I assume you have installed a working Windows on a virtual machine on your Mac running Fusion and you know how to start and stop your virtual machine. I'll not go into details on how to do that, but might mention you need to do that to access some important settings in Fusion. If you have any comments, any tips, any problems by doing some of the stuff I'm mentioning in the article, any typos, any grammatical stuff you want to have changed or anything else to say, then feel free to drop me a mail by clicking the mail link in this post or in my profile to get in touch with me. Please don't send me private messages using the forum. I always forget to check those, and the forum doesn't alert by a mail or any message when you get a new private message.Well, let's get started. Enjoy a pretty long article:Switching between Fusion and the other programs on your Mac:Yeah, you already know how to do this I know, but I'll mention this anyway, because there is something which might have pissed you off for a while which I'll try to explain:As you properly know, command tab switches between your open programs or applications. However, when switching from an application to Fusion and your virtual machine, you might experience some weird lag. This is normal. Don't panic and don't press any button for at leased 3 seconds or so, because that'll make the lag even more worse. Instead, just wait 3 seconds, and it should react normal again. In a virtual machine, the alt key is the option key, which means you have to press option tab to do alt tab. This might take some time to get used to, when command tab switches between the applications on your Mac, and option tab switches between the opened windows on your virtual machine. You already properly know that if you've installed your Windows, but just mentioning for others who don't know this.I'll always recommend you to turn off Voiceover when using a virtual machine. Please note that the command key is your Windows key in Fusion, so what happens when you do command f5 to turn off Voiceover? Voiceover will be turned off on your Mac, and you'll open up the start menu in Windows, and get the focus away for whatever running game you might have in focus. So, for that reason, I sometimes first turn off Voiceover, and then switches to Fusion by pressing command tab to avoid this. However, that requires you fully understand how command tab works on the Mac, which I'll describe very shortly with an example. In Mac OSX, you can easily arrange in what order your applications are in. That means if you have iTunes, VLC player or whatever media player running in the background, you can kind of put this away, if safari and Fusion only is what you need to work with for now.So, to rearrange your apps you can do the following:1: Hold down the command key and press the tab key to safari, and then release the keys.2: Hold down the command key again, and press the tab key to Fusion, and then release the keys. Now, when you quickly press command tab, you'll only switch between Safari and Fusion. Really handy trick if you wanna work with safari on your Mac, while doing other stuff on your virtual machine. this is also very handy if you wanna stop Voiceover before switching to Fusion. In this way, you know you'll switch to Fusion when pressing command tab, instead of switching to whatever other random application.Full screen mode:It's always a good idea to run games and your virtual machine in general in full screen. Please note full screen reacts differently on different computers. If the machine doesn't run in full screen, you might experience focusing issues. For some reason, the full screen mode suddenly change how it reacts on my computer. That means when I switch back to Fusion after having worked with other programs on my Mac, my focus is not on the virtual machine but in the list of virtual machines. Then I choose single view instead. Others are experiencing that differently, so you might have to play around with this a bit. Then, suddenly, my Fusion reacts differently, and then I switch back to the full screen view again. You can choose between the different views by going to the menubar (VO m,) open up the view menu and either choose single window or full screen. There are other ways to do that as well, but mentioning all those ways might just end up in confusion. If you can't press VO m to open up the menubar in Fusion, you can press ctrl f2 or ctrl FN f2 instead, depending on your keyboard settings on your

If you have the configuration manager, then you should be able to get to the file menu and open the config file for bgt. Hi,started playing swamp today after a long time again. Here some smaller and bigger bugs I noticed:When I found an M60 I couldn't unload the ammo. I just heared the drawing sound of the M60. Hoever, when I looged back in later, all my 7.62 ammo was gone. When I tried to buy 40 9 MM ammo, I was told, that I didn't have enough reputation. Tis amount of ammo costs 960 Rep and I had about 5000. I had to buy 2 times 20.When I left a month ago, I had about 3,5 Million reputation. Unfortunately, when I came back today, only 5000 were left.and some general thought:due to the new zombie and weapon strength system, most of the weapons are nearly useless. With my level 158 character I have to put about 30 points in a weapon, before it really can be used in the field. In older times part of the fun of the game was that I could use lots of different weapons. Now I am stuck with 3 or 4 weapons, that are strong enough to really help me. T

I don't think you need to remove references to colors. Many blind people have had or still have some vision and a concept of color.Though colors might not be useful for those who have never seen them it seems like a waste to exclude the large number of blind people who have.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160620#p160620

Re: iOS text game, A Dark Room, update released

Well I saw Phil's announcement and since I wanted to start trying  some newly released games after christmas I had to give this one a go. Yes, it meets the db guidleines but nore than that it's awsome! it's  as if someone took my  castaways and fallthru, two of my favourite games and stuck them together, and the access is some of the best I've seen. I particularly like the way that battles the  alerts get repeated so even if your flicking  to different buttons you can find out what is going on in the battle and don't miss stuff like in a mud.  The only thing I'm not sure about is the fire in the main room,  since I keep stoking the thing but  I'm not sure what it's doing, though then again maybe I should not find out what happens if it goes out . Btw, amusingly enough, since I
have the contrast reversed on my Iphone so that the background is black and the writing white, I can at least get a vague visual impression where some of the controls are, the game actually gets lighter when the  fire starts  going out  which is quite creepy .URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160628#p160628

Hello Guitarman. I was hoping to get feedback from someone who is blind since birth because for me this is the hardest to relate to. I did some research online and read a couple of articles of people who never had any vision and all of them seemed quite baffled by the notion of colors. For them it is such a foreign concept yet for me it is like breathing. It's just there. It always was.I'm intrigued by your answer though. I would be happy to ask you some further questions if you don't mind. For example the description of the setting sun. The sun is not something you can touch and it seems hard to describe it in analogies because it is a very unique sight in my opinion. I'm wondering how this could possibly help you picturing the scene? I would imagine that for you the setting sun is about the disappearing warmth you feel on your face, the smell of the approaching evening and specific sounds that are unique to the time of day. Shouldn't I rather try
to capture these sensations in the description even though these are just born of my own mind and have not much to do with the picture actually described? The project I'm working on is not actually something that describes pictures dynamically but it is something that is designed to bring a special kind of gaming experience to blind people that relies heavily and often primarily on pictures and images.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160629#p160629

Re: teaching myself piano?

Ok sorry for bringing back an old topic, but I finally have a keyboard (the yamaha ypt-220, if it matters) which only has 61 keys, I've learned a few chords and notes and am trying to get used to the proper way of fingering. One problem I am having is when trying to quickly switch chords my fingers will often inadvertently slide off onto other keys and I can't reorient myself without feeling around and starting over. I've considered brailling it with the notes and numbers, but would probably get used to it and struggle on normal pianos. So, any suggestions? Hi Ethin,See my answers below.Ethin wrote:You must know assembly language. For instance, you must know what a very simple program is in assembly language.Incorrect. Assembly knowledge is not necessary, not for all compilation types. For bytecode compilers it is certainly not a requirement. For native code, it depends on whether you'd like to write a better compiler than industry standards, such as GCC on linux. If yes, I wish you good luck! If not, optimised assembly will work just as fine.Ethin wrote:If you want to write a compiler, you must know what the following assembly source doesI see your -S switch works great when using GCC! I assure you, that you need a far better knowledge if you'd like to write a native compiler in pure assembly. GCC output can be quite unoptimised, see the debug symbols GCC just

Please do explain, because I am really interested how you managed to draw this conclusion. While I appreciate your help, your tone really does not justify it - to me, it rather sounds like instructions from someone who has a bit of knowledge, which certainly would not be sufficient to create a compiler. Hi BlackBird.Interesting, weren't you the one talking about making an audio game engine a while back? Well if you can make a graphical game that is also accessible to the blind in a new way I would love to play it. Well I will try to explain how I picture the sun as best as I can. Years ago a friend of mine told me about the sun being a big ball of light in the sky and the moon being an giant circle and so I just associate light with heat. Which sometimes isn't always helpfull because when I'm in a place where lights are on I don't always notice it. But I can feel the sun on me and when it goes down I can feel the heat of it slowly going away.I hope this helps you out a little and that it isn't to confusingURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160644#p160644

Aprone and manes, nor can I play.I think there are very big trouble. You see, my computer will win is August 64 bits. First I proceeded to register the components from the 64bits.bat, running as administrator. When run, before I could read anything, the file is closed, making me believe that maybe already had copied and registered as required. What was my surprise to find that nothing nothing is not executed. Then, as I knew, I proceeded to record direct X manually. I was going to copy both dll and register it with a little help. Not only the program continued to error, but go for one more and my Windows stopped working properly, so I had to make an urgent restoration. So, I fear that there will be coded in a more current to direct x system, it seems to me.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160645#p160645

Re: Making an Espeak Voice

These are variants, and this may be enough for you if all you care about is overall voice changes.  To add new languages, or modify existing ones to sound better, you need to look at espeakedit, which is..well..maybe marginally accessible.  It's in a few parts: the variant, a text file as shown above, and a data set of rules for conversions to phonemes and lists of instructions on how to synthesize them.  This second part is what must be touched to improve or modify an existing language, or made from scratch to make a new one.  You do the first part as shown above.  The second part is...more complex, and requires a lot of knowledge and I believe espeakedit.  I've played with variants, but can't provide any real info on how to go further and make/modify a language.  A language and a variant together make a voice in Espeak terms, if I recall correctly.  Which you need depends on what you actually want to do.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160651#p160651

Well, my first advice would probably be to take things very slow at first when you are learning, speed will come with practice. Second: You've run into the problem all blind people face: sheet music. You can either learn braille, learn things by ear, use ABC notation, or get somebody to help you learn things from sheet music. best of luck URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=160652#p160652
