This is why I don't write articles for the articles room lol.Also when I tried streaming my nvda today, the speech wouldn't go through. So I don't know what is happening. And it turns out if you stream any file explorer window, all system audio will go through, and you don't even need nvda as a game. So most of those steps were unnecessary. Except for NVDA apparently. How did I get the speech then? I already have a 4 tb external drive, and plus my local drive is only 256 gb, so there wouldn't be much point in paying for google drive or dropbox. I'm no where near the 256 mark. But I'm glad Keybase is a network drive, as not only does it give me an additional 250, but for my friends it is the easiest way for us to transfer data, as we don't have to worry about people's space limits. Well, eventually we may if we add enough, but it will take awhile. I was previously using a 70 gb local drive, so you can see how big of a difference this is for me lol. That's not going to be enough, even for a sighted person. Or am I wrong? Do most sighted people's first job resumes have nothing in the work experience section? Employers would most likely choose those who did have at least something, so I think with only having these 2 very short volunteer entries, I'm screwed, even if I don't share that I am blind. About 2 years ago, I decided volunteering wasn't good enough, I want payment, and I think that hot headedness has now screwed me over. Because if I had been volunnteering the past 2 years instead of looking for employment and fail/giving up, I may actually have had a chance with the amount of volunteering I have done. The best thing that I can do right now, which I am trying to do, is start volunteering while trying to apply. If I don't get accepted, I wait a few months and edit my volunteer time since that point in my resume and try again. Eventually, the volunteering experience won't be the thing that is stopping me. So that is another limiting factor.@19 For me, both of them are just as equally important. I don't mind volunteering or hanging out with people, but if I don't get money, I won't be alive to volunteer or have fun for long, lol. Ok over exaggerated but you know what I mean. And I knew about the Lawyer, computer programmer, and massage therapist thing, and none of those are for me. Like I know, beggers can't be choosers, but let's add inequality into that mix please. I could go through with college, luckily the resources factor for me is not an issue, I'm fortunate for that. And I'm not doing college at the moment because it is all online, and I don't have the self discipline to do online courses, plus the main reason for going to a college aside from the degree, is to build a good social network. Unfortunately only a month into my first semester, lock down hit and that was shot for me, at least for the current moment. So I don't have the network factor. But I have used the command line to review and recover archived files and folders.The windows client gui could be coded better, but it is usable. A little frustrating, but I won't complain that much because at least there is one instead of forcing everyone to use the command line for every single thing. This is useful for mapping out other cities whether you are traveling, moving, or helping another person find a place in their area. my computer hates me when it is charing My new computer is great... except when it is charging. You would think it would allow for more torture, but it actually tortures itself and won't allow much more. The computer fan immediately comes on at full blast.MY friend says this can be changed in the advanced power plan settings, but the only thing that shows up for me is battery. He did some reading and the article said after the 2020 04 update, the advanced power settings removed a lot of these functions, but there is a reg value that you can modify to unhide them. And 1050 down from 1250 for a 2015 macbook pro. That thing sucks. It can't handle anything. Even trying to convert something with iMovie makes the fan go on full blast. And the cooling in the macbook, total trash, at least in my experience. So yeah, I've been ripped off before. It took me a few years to start being wise with my computer purchases. Oh btw both the surface pro 3 and macbook were only 128 gb and 4 gb of ram. So that was also a pain in the ass. My current computer has 256 gb and 8 gb of ram, which works good enough for me. If you have wired headphones and don't mind them you should also consider this. But if you are after bluetooth specifically, then that's fine. Some communities recover from the dark ages, and some fall apart because of it.There are many factors that cause these things to happen. It's hard for humans to understand each other, and even more so with lack of experience. People have opinions that sometimes get in their way of being open minded; sometimes they do this on purpose, other times not. People are from different parts of the world, and don't speak the same language. Btw, it is amazing how many non English speakers we have, the internet does have its up-sides. People are different ages, ranging from probably 9 to 70 on here; just guessing, but it is a huge range. And people have other physical and mental disabilities that make it harder for them to understand and or communicate.In my opinion, there are 2 main factors that I see causing the dark age of this community. More and more young people joining, and, our social oppression. And young people joining is not bad. They just don't understand a lot of things; and I don't know if we are being as considerate as we should be, and helping them as much as we could. As for social oppression, a lot of blind people do not know how to communicate. Some people have had very unfortunate environments that either we didn't get to speak up, or it didn't do anything when we did speak up. Social skills are very strange, because some of them are easy, some of them are not, and some of them require skills that not every human is built for, just like art, or music.The community is in a dark age, but remember, every community experiences at least 1 of these. And believe it or not, we're doing strong. We're fighting hard, and most of us, are keeping this place alive. Yeah, we don't have active webmasters, or up to date web features and security, or mods who have moe time to focus specifically on this site. But what we do have, is a long strong history and most people from the last generation are still here.Personally, I am too young to have been apart of that generation. And maybe that's part of why this dark age is happening. I didn't think about this until just now. More and more of the userbase hasn't experienced the strongest and brightest moments of the community. This new idea just came to me now, and I don't know what to think about it, so I will end my thoughts here.I hope this was worded well enough. I tried to organize my thoughts. If I press shift d again, I can now cycle trhough the 2 files that I have found with shift d. If I then hit shift h, it hides those 2 files, and now shows the first files starting with h. If I hit shift h again, it shows the second item starting with h, as well as the first, just like when I pressed d. Even weirder, if I do open one of the files, it doesn't save the last folder. So I can't just close it and reopen it, and be placed int othat folder. So what the hell is going on! Now the goldwave open dialog either crashes goldwave completely, or it hangs there, but I can alt f4, and reopen the folder in open dialog. Of course that is annoying because I have to navigate all the way back to that folder again. So a lose lose lose situation here. Fuck you microsoft. Sometimes when I browse ogg files in goldwave,, the program crashes. I don't even have to preview. I just load a folder of ogg files, and it will crash. For no reason! I thought at first it was keybase, but nope. I copied a folder over from keybase to my C drive just to make sure. Same thing happens. So did k-lite screw up the explorer dialogue in goldwave? Somehow, goldwave is the only program I have found that does this. And this is well, super annoying because the whole electronic game library, is in ogg format. Along with other sound folders, and music. In fact, most the files I work with are ogg. The size and number of items in the folder is completely irrelevant. It fails to load folders of 3 mono ogg files. SO that gives you an idea of how bad this is. I literally have to task kill the program.It looks to me like the folders it has visited in the temporary cache, it doesn't freeze on, but of course, that means each time I go into a new folder after restarting my computer, it freezes. And there were so many different variations to how you can lookat the archive, that I don't know which one to use. Btw you can hold the function and escape keys for 3 seconds to toggle that setting. My problem is, I often hit function f4 instead of control, windows, or alt f4. is there a way to disable the function f4 mute mic keystroke? Hi. I got a new computer, it's great! But... this function f4 is very very annoying. I can't tell you how many times i have been on a discord call and I either start out muted, or I mute several times during the call on accident. Any way to disable this annoying crap? Or at least, any way for NVDA to announce the mic status? If not, someone should make an add-on, or add this to windows 10 essentials. certain files break audio themes I am creating an audio theme for NVDA, and it seems like certain sounds literally break the theme. I will select an ogg file, and for some reason, it doesn't like this ogg file. So the only way to fix this, is to remove the type of sound, then readd it with a different sound, then save the theme. Then remove that sound. But why does this add on hate certain random sounds? Btw this doesn't allow me to use the sound that broke it.
