Take a look at www.granitecanyon.com for free DNS hosting...

There's also plenty of "public dns" places out there that will do DNS
hosting for you for cheap.

What do I do? Right now, the verio guys are my DNS service. DO i call them

RE: CF vs. ASP

2002-08-26 Thread Christopher Olive

as much as we all love CF, it is NEVER a good idea to "put all your eggs in
one basket".

let me repeat that for emphasis.

IT IS NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

in my own experience, companies are more likely to be in favor of someone
with one or two specialties, but with a smattering of other things the
candidat is "good at, but not expert". as a former hirer myself, it says to
me that the person is not a "all problems are nails" person, and is willing
to look at the best way to get the job done, rather than the "best way to
use the one thing i know to do the job". there are light years of
difference between the two.

Equal!Different

The CFMX outputs "Equal"... Does anybody have a clue about what might
it be? This is syntax problem when converting it to Java? I didn't
see any mention to that in the CFMX docs.

By the way: CFMX still "typeless"? And what about when the CFMX code
is converted to Java code? How the JIT decides which data type a
variable has?

ah. 5.5. i was talking about 2000. 5.5. handles relay differently, but
the box and checkbox should say something to that effect.

to be at least exchange 5.5 SP2.

RE: MS Exchange and CFMAIL

2002-08-15 Thread Christopher Olive

Actually, you can allow "Only the IPs below" on the relay tab in exchange,
and enter the IP of the web server.

i also usually use SMTP on IIS, however, if the web box is in a domain with
the Exchange box, exchange likes to grab the mail instead of letting IIS
handle it. it's strange, but i've noticed that behaviour here. it may be
that IIS recognizes exchange in the domain, and uses its own SMTP as a smart
relay, though.

In order to let CF relay, Exchange has to allow everyone relay, or CF has to
be on the same box as Exchange, neither of these are good options. I just
use the built in SMTP that comes with IIS, works pretty good.

true, only strings/ints. however, you can serialize your structures/arrays
with WDDX and store the packets as client vars to do an end run around that.

we recently converted our entire product to client vars since we needed to
move into a clustered servers.

But only limitation that I know of is the type and size of the data you are
storing.

I beleive you can not do any type of structures or arrays as client
varibles. Only strings or Int.

Nope, single server ... it is a distributed app that is currently using
Session variables ... and most people who use it are on shared servers and
such ... I just really like the client variables for a shopping cart so the
cart can hang around .. the session variables timeout ... but I just am
curious as to why some would use one over the other in a basic setup.

24 isn't a valid 24 hour clock hour. midnight is 00:00:00. just before it

The quotes work okay, with any combination other than "24" as the hour. As
soon as I put 24 in, it fails.

RE: CF and SQL

2002-07-31 Thread Christopher Olive

store it as a string.

the only reason to store something as a numerical value (int, float, etc) is
if you plan to do mathematical things to it. SSNs don't really need that,
so string storage would be your best bet.

Do a select from the table with the ID you are going to use in the
update, if the select query returns a recordcount > 0 then update it, if
not then don't.

Ok,

I am interested in peoples opinions on the following:

Is it best practice to check for a records existence before attempting
to update it? And what would the best way to go about that be?

do you have the emails in an email client? most can dump to a flat tab

use verity to index the table.

I have been asked to create an email archive search engine for an email
list server I am a member of.

The list server is out on a box that we have no control over.

So I was thinking of using CFpop to collect the email then write the
emails to txt files so Verity can index them. I have not used CFpop
yet, but I would assume I would need CFfile to write the txt files.

It sounds like a kludge and will be slow. The list only get about 50
emails a day though.

Is there another way of collecting the email so verity can index them?

RE: SSL on form submission

2002-07-30 Thread Christopher Olive

that's not strictly correct. (before i begin, i always SSL the form itself,
since it gives the users warm fuzzies).

when a user calls up a form and enters data into it, the data is still on
their local PC. it has not gone "over the wire" yet. if the form's action
page is HTTPS, when the user submits the form, the request *and all its
data* are encrypted.

but, as i said, i prefer to encrypt the form so the user can see the little
glowing lock (or whatnot) and feel good.

Well, if I understand it correctly, the SSL secures the data being
transferred.
If you only use it on the action page, and not the submission itself, the
data going from form.cfm to action.cfm would not be secure. But if form.cfm
is in SSL, then it would be secure.

2002-07-29 Thread Christopher Olive

more or less. you have a table of groups with the associated permissions.
(edit, delete, etc).

then a table with the group(s) to which a user belongs.

otherwise, correct.

So you have table that holds the users information and their roles say,
edit, delete, gifts, orders, settings <--- those are the rolls that a user has
access too.

Then when the user logs in, you build a structure that is
request.security.edit/request.security.delete ...with all of the users
approvals... and save that struct to a session/client variable?

Then are you doing a simple ...go to
login

Am I going down the right path?

Not NT ... we did something similar to what he's suggesting. We set up
'roles' in a lookup table in the database, then in our user maintenance
screen we can check which roles a user has. This comma-delimited string of
numbers goes into their 'state' that we maintain also in the database. When
a page loads we create a structure called request.security and fill it with
boolean values for all the roles. Then on any page you can check for
request.security.name_of_some_role and if true, they are a member.

I am looking for suggestions on a user authorization method.

Basically, I have multiple users with various different access levels
thourghout the application. Some can get into some places while others
can't, and even some can get in everywhere.

There are basically 20 different location restrictions. My question would
be what would be the best way/practice to tackle this.

Here is what I have come up with (but think it's a bit cumbersome).

Setup table with the 20 different access columns
(editor,admin,colors,settings,gifts ect...) and give them a 1 or 0

Then when the user logs in build a struct with the access levels and check
the struct for that access level (1) when entering a page if 0, send them
away to the beggining.

Seems a bit cumbersome ... so I am looking for alternatives.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate your input

RE: problems with SSL and host-headers

right. this changes the "one of three" rule for site identification in IIS.
three things identify a virtual site in IIS:

1) IP address.
2) Port number.
3) Host header.

change at least one of the three, and you have a "different site" in IIS.
SSL will not work, however, if you're using host headers as your "one of
three".

They were correct. Since IIS can't see the header, your request is going to
be sent directly to port 443, which is most likely listened to by the
default or admin virtual domain.. \
However, this is possible. I have done this in the past using the undefined

RE: coldfusion search

2002-07-25 Thread Christopher Olive

consider that the % sign is the "wildcard" match for ANSI SQL. if you put
it after the search term in the LIKE clause (as you did with BEGINS_WITH),
you search for something that has . the is the % sign. now, you want something that will match any
characters before and after the search term.

put the % on both sides of the search term.

like so...

Ok Ok...
Tested on
ColdFusion MX on a Solaris 7 with Apache 1.3.26 Web Server ColdFusion
4.5 on Windows NT with IIS Web Server

Both when hitting refresh after the page is already running the
session.cartquantity becomes inaccurate at a different rate... if I hit
refresh a short time the error is small if I hit refresh a longer time
into the code the error is greater. The Loop was put in to simulate the
slow speed of the page while connected to the AS400.

What should I test next??

I am all ears? well as much as I can be...

I even put some locks around where I am setting the session variables to

It looks like it is not rerunning the page from the top when I hit
refresh.

Chris,
You were right! (You've got to love it when someone says that.) The
client has their 'staging' server - which is actually a single site they
test multiple sites on in subdirectories. Whereas their live
environment, has the site sitting in it's own directory. Just as you
described. Thus, making it impossible to use "/" root level referencing
because your testing on one server that is configured differently than
the live server.

The client had original informed us their staging enviroment was
configured the same as their live enviroment. And this being an
internal server, we weren't able to confirm anything.

I'm going to work with my Project Manager and the client on possible
resolutions.

Thanks for all of your help! Keep in touch.

Hmm... I think I know where your going - What if their staging IS
completely different than their live - and when they are testing, it's
on a stripped down version of IIS that supports only one site, with
subdirectories, and their testing on that subdirectory. "/" would be
usesless in referencing. Good thought! I'll get back to you with the
answer, hopefully that is the issue.

Thanks!

Yes, the source of the image tag is correct. Everything works fine on
our development enviroment for referencing from the root (ie
"/images/something.gif"), however on their staging server it does not.
It only works if it is referenced either "../images/something.gif" or
"images/something.gif".

It's not a matter of the code, it's a matter of the server settings to
get it to accept the "/" reference for root.

Calling all of the IIS geniuses on this list! I know this is a CF list,
but I'm sure there are a few of you. :)

I have a client whose server appears not to allow relative referencing
from the root -

Example: "/images/SomePic.gif"

In order for them to reference any images they have to use the relative
dot notation from whichever directory they are in -

Example "../../images/SomePic.gif"

Does anyone know how this may have been disabled in IIS? And if so, how
to re-enable referencing from the root.

THANKS!!!

PaperThin regrets the inconvenience of a recent email distributed to current
and past Macromedia partners. PaperThin intended solely to introduce the
company to other Macromedia partners, who may have an interest in content
management solutions. Macromedia did not sell the contact information which
was used. Macromedia does provide a means for partners to post their
contact information; the email addresses posted on those listings were used.
We directed that introduction to those individuals listed as the primary
contact for their organization, under the assumption that these individuals
might have interest in receiving information from other Macromedia partners.
PaperThin regrets any inconvenience this may have
caused to current or past Macromedia partners.

no, no problem. but linguistic/semantic/heuristic/epistemologic theory is a

If QueryResults is supposed to be a boolean, isn't
it better to make it a boolean? Doesn't that make
it easier to understand the intent of the code?

The above statement tells me that QueryResults holds
the number of records in the query. If I output
the variable, I'll get a number.

This tells me that QueryResults is a boolean, and
represents whether the query has any records. If
I output the variable, I'll get "YES" or "NO."

Perhaps someone else can see what I am doing wrong here (cf5). I've had this
problem in the past, and just included the code inline with a cfloop around
my cfscript, but now I want to convert the code to a UDF...
Here is the code.

This works fine:

This throws an invalid parser construct error at the second parentheses (yes
I have tried both single and double quotes):
for ( i in objXMLDOM.selectNodes('/TrackResponse/Activity')) {

Am I wrong in assuming that cfloop-collection and cfscript for-in loops are
the same?

RE: 4 million messages per hour - is it possible?

2002-07-01 Thread Christopher Olive

you could do one of two things, actually.

1) use CFFILE to write a raw message to the SMTP queue directory. simple
format, really. let the SMTP queue handle routing and such.

2) use CFOBJECT and CDO to create an SMTP mail object native to windows.
create it, write a message using the object's methods, send. rinse, repeat.

We did use CF to generate the email files. I can't say how, but I can
tell you that using and to accomplish writing millions

RE: Firewall configuration for CF and SQL (sort of OT)

out of curiosity, why would you want to separate the CF API from the

The only thing that should be in your DMZ is a web server with port 443 and
80 open through the firewall...You need can point the web server connector
to a remote CF machine to render your templates

I can't say I'm an expert my any means, but I have both my web server
and SQL Server behind the firewall. The only access I allow to the SQL
box is to TCP/IP on port 1433 for Enterprise Manager and the port for
my Remote administration software, and then only from certain IP
addresses. I won't let any clients access the SQL Server unless they
have a static IP Address, which I haven't needed to at this point. If
I get a client with dialup that needs to access SQL Server through
Ent. Mgr., I'll cross that bridge then.

Not sure why you'd put the web server in the DMZ. I have just the
ports needed to be open for the web server, 80, 443, 21, 8383, 8484,
(both for web mail) 25, 110, 53 (DNS and mail are currently running
on the mail server, but I'm moving mail to a dedicated server in the
next week or so). I block all UDP traffic except to port 53 (DNS). I
only open the port for my remote administration to my IP address here
at home. Once I get mail moved, I'll only have ports 80, 443 and 21
and 53 open to the web server. Hopefully, I'll have the money one day
for a dedicated DNS server and can close port 53 also. :)

Can't answer domain questions. My servers are all standalone.

I can't answer the appliance question, but I'm running DNS using Bind
for NT. It's pretty simple and works well. You could probably get a
cheap box running Linux and run Bind to avoid the cost of Windows.
That's probably what I'll do when I move DNS off the web server.

Hope that helped a little.

RE: Firewall configuration for CF and SQL (sort of OT)

2002-06-27 Thread Christopher Olive

putting the webserver in the DMZ is a good idea, since the majority of web
server compromises are via port 80 anyway. and the principle of the DMZ
(isolated public servers such that, if they are compromised, they cannot be
used as bastion hosts for attacks) applies here.

Chris,

You give me too much credit. This is my "pro-bono" box. I set it up
myself and I can tell you that there's no custom 403.3 setup. The server
has a single IP and about 5 virtual sites mapped to it. The only one with a
CERT is "secure.cfwebtools.com". Apparently, since it's the only 443 port
listening - it gets the SSL traffic by default. It does generate an initial
error message regarding the CERT not matching the host info.

Bud,

We kinda figured out why this works in spite of the MS article (or I guess
as additional information to the article) . I only have one cert on this
box - therefore the web server doesn't have any conflicts - it basically
knows that any SSL request will be served with that one cert.

right. because when you lump several statements together via CFQUERY, only the

I came across a scary sql non-error. Thought I'd share. It can be convenient to toss
multiple insert statements into one cfquery. Consider the below code where the field
'Description' is varchar(10):

INSERT INTO Table (Code, Description) VALUES ('a', 'yo')
INSERT INTO Table (Code, Description) VALUES ('b', 'this string is too long')
INSERT INTO Table (Code, Description) VALUES ('c', 'yo')

This will not throw an error. (I am using CF 4.5/SQL Server 2K)

If you did the second statement first, it will throw a sql data truncation error. In
the above case, it will insert the first and third row, but not the second.

If you do 3 separate s, then of course, the second would throw an error.

Does anyone know how the law works for salaried employees, regarding
Computer Professionals? Is there a minimum salary?

Computer Professionals - A new law provides for increased hourly minimum pay
for exempt computer professionals. The minimum salary requirement for exempt
computer professionals rose from $41 per hour in 2001 to $42.64 in 2002.

RE: executing sql server dts package from cf

2002-05-10 Thread Christopher Olive

you can also create an SP that executes your DTS package, then call the SP from CF
with CFQUERY. that's what we do here, since i've had mixed results instantiating a
COM object as CFCOMET recommends.

Steven,

There are a couple of ways to do this. The first using CFObject is outlined
on cfcomet.com. Antoher way is to run DTS using cfexecute as follows.

this is sort of correct. with all deference to mr forta, a more accessible example of

Hey folks,
I have a table like this:

id foreign id value
1 1 1
2 1 2
3 1 3
4 2 1
5 2 2
6 2 3

Regular old normalized table right? Well I need to get it into columns
like this:

foreignID value1 value2 value3
1 1 2 3
2 1 2 3

Now I know it is possible, but difficult. I would do it with CF but no
matter how high I set the time out in my administrator, and my web server it
times out, or says page cannot be displayed. It is pulling huge amounts of
data, then outputting it it an Excel spread sheet. We tried to do it with a
DTS package and the use SQL Mail to send it, but couldn't get that to work
reliably.

TIA.

It seems to work fine if the user types them directly into the text area. Any work

RE: Optimal settings for LIMIT SIMULTANEOUS REQUESTS

when i took the server performance tuning class (with dave watts!), we were told the
only way to REALLY get a good number for that is to load test your application with
different setting in simultaneous requests. look at the data, and it'll reveal the
"optimal" setting.

that being said, we didn't cover hosting multiple sites, so load testing them ALL and
taking an average might be a PITA. we didn't discuss ways to mitigate this. to be
completely fair, i was running a one site only machine for the DOD, and didn't think
to ask this question.

This is indeed correct. I've got the quickbooks --> my application about
90% completed, without any problem except that there are some
inconsistencies with the data. Unfortunately, quality of information out of
my application will only be as good as the quality of the data going into
it.

Also, I've seen the SDK and it doesn't look like it is complete yet. There
seem to be some elements missing. QuickBooks has created a XML
implementation called qbXML (or qXML), but it looks like it is still in its
infancy and requires creation of com objects to work with it.

Wouldn't a qbXML to WDDX function be fun?

We started on a project that was going to do something like this (right
before funding was cut and the team was sent on permanent vacation). We
only found two tools:

OfficeQ by DataBlox http://www.datablox.com/
Linkbook ODBC Driver http://www.hcit.co.uk/LinkBook/

The ODBC driver was buggy at best, and we didn't have time to evaluate the
DataBlox offering.

The problem we found is that the makers of QuickBooks are for one reason or
another keeping their DB proprietary. They've released just enough info to
allow the construction of a way to export data from IIF's, but to the best
of my knowledge you can't import to one.

I'm in a much happier place now (that also uses Quickbooks) and would love
for someone to tell me #1 I'm Wrong and #2 Here's how you do it.

Cheers!

RE: CFDirectory Network Drive - Help!!!!

2002-04-18 Thread Christopher Olive

keep in mind that drives are mapped on an account-by-account basis. so, if i'm a user
on your machine, the path you have mapped to M:\ in your account is NOT accessible by
me.

that being said, the CF service runs as LocalSystem, by default. this account will
NOT have any mapped drives (if memory serves). if you've changed that, the user under
which CF runs must have the drive mapped in THAT profile.

more elegant solution: use a UNC for CFFILE and CFDIRECTORY.

Subject: CFDirectory Network Drive - Help

I am using CF 4.5 with IIS 4. Despite successfully making a mapping to a
drive on another machine thru "Mapping a drive", the cold fusion server
seems unable to see this server when I try to browse in the "Mapping"
section of Cold Fusion Administrator.

I can see this drive thru Windows explorer or Command prompt, But CF is
unable to do so. This means that CFDirectory or CFFile cannot work. Is there
anything that I have to do , or install or setup to get this connection to
work? Any help or direction is appreiciated!

Thanks

RE: UNION vs JOIN

2002-04-18 Thread Christopher Olive

ah.

. While they are not the issue, it
may be work reexamining how you have your tables constructed. for example, looks like
you can fold the three "detail" tables into one.

if we consider that this layout is a priori, and the scenario is as outlined below,
then you're probably looking for

SELECT template FROM department_table WHERE ID = #URL.owner#
UNION
SELECT template FROM product_table WHERE ID = #URL.owner#
UNION
SELECT template FROM content_table WHERE ID = #URL.owner#

this is off the top of my head. should be fairly close, though.

Ok, here it is:

fusion_table
id | owner | sub_object | type | sort | status

department_table
id | title | description | content | status | TEMPLATE

product_table
id | title | description | content | status | TEMPLATE various other
columns

content_table
id | title | description | content | status | TEMPLATE

The fusion table combines the id values from the other three tables, in the
two columns OWNER and SUB_OBJECT. All owners can have multiple sub_objects
and sub_objects can become owners. The type field is one of three values
department, product, or content

So if I have id's
1 = department
2 = department
3 = product
4 = product
5 = content

and my fusion table looks like this:

owner | sub_object | type
12 department
23 product
24 product
25 content

Owner 1 has the sub_object 2 (sub_department) owner 2 has the sub objects
3,4 (products) and 5(content item).

So if I have a link loading up ID=4 the product and want to view it's
records, "go.cfm?owner=4" I want to write a query that will get the
template out of the appropriate table ...
I do not want to do a

run this query

run this query

run this query

I would like to run a query that will "Join or Union" the tables to get the
TEMPLATE so I can tell which template to use. I would rather not duplicate
the data and keep the template attached to each item.

RE: weird insert/update error

2002-04-17 Thread Christopher Olive

i remember this as well. my CEO had the same problem (he dabbles in programming).

make sure IUSR_MACHINENAME has write perms to the directory in which the MDB file
resides. it needs them to create the LDB file. this is, of course, if you have
anonymous access enabled.

if you search MS's site, they give 4 or 5 possible solutions to this problem.

just right click on the database file you copied over.
make sure the web client or what ever your server calls it has read/write
privileges to the db.

that's it.

when i copied the files & the data base to the server, the file permissions
where reset.
i had to allow web users to be able to write to the database.

kind of odd, never ran into this before.

should be fine now.

I've run into a problem with my local development machine (Win2k, IIS, CF
4.5). For some bizarre reason today whenever I try to run a CF script, the
INETINFO.exe service suddenly pegs out at 99% of the CPU, and the only way I
can get it to release is to reboot. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling IIS, but that didn't help. Has anyone else run into this
problem with inetinfo before? Any ideas why this started happening, and how
I can make it stop? :)

TIA,

RE: Newbie question on variables

2002-04-08 Thread Christopher Olive

attributes is the scope that is used within a custom tag. it's the variables passed
during the custom tag call.

so...

within the custom tag, ATTRIBUTES.var1 and .var2 would be BAR and BAZ, respectively.

should you have a ValueList(asstaken.assname) in your last recordset? as it
is, you're trying to exclude a *query variable#, not a list of names.

IE:

Select empl from AssList,asstaken
Where empl NOT IN (#ValueList(AssTaken.assname)#)

Anyone have any idea how to change a number thats being outputted from a
table as 70.0500 to 70.05 with only 2 decimal points.

Is this doable thru a change in SQL 2000 or a change in the query itself?

I'm doing an email merge, and the tag used won't allow formatting of
anything within the body of the email, so the data has to be correctly
formatted before being inserted into the email. The above number is a dollar
amount owed by customers past due, so it need to be displayed in the email
as $70.05 and right now shows as $70.0500

Appreciate any insights. Thanks.

My Question is how should I set up the connection to my SQL server database

other in-house applications connecting to the same database.

What's the best way to do this?
Should I create a duplicate database on the ISP server just for the website.

this?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you don't expect a lot of traffic, just use session variables. I only use
client variables on sites that will either have a lot of traffic, or ones
that I would like to move one day to a clustered enviroment. Use session
variables (with locking), it will make your life easier.

I think I will be able to work with just having them configure my already
existing datasource to store client vars. It's for a fairly small site and I
don't really expect lots of traffic.

Thanks again.

Subject: CF Can't insertinto SQL2K ... any ideas?

My server's using CF5 and SQL2K. I can insert into a table using the query
analyser, and I can have CF query the datasource no problem. But when it
goes to insert into the database, using the same SQL I used in the query
analyser, it hiccups. I get a error messages as follows:

[quote]
ODBC Error Code = 23000 (Integrity constraint violation)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot insert the value NULL
into column 'memberid', table 'btcmsa.dbo.Newsletter'; column does not allow
nulls. INSERT fails.
The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of
(CFQUERY), occupying document position (9:1) to (9:99).
 [/quote]

Here's the SQL I used to set up the table:

[quote]
CREATE TABLE [Newsletter] (
[memberid] [int] IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL ,
[name] [varchar] (255) NULL ,
[email] [varchar] (255) NULL ,
[emailtype] [int] NULL ,
[messagesentwhen] [datetime] NULL ,
[messagesent] [bit] NOT NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
GO
[/quote]

The field it's complaining about, "memberid" is a primary key. The SQL in
the CFQUERY tag works fine in query analyser. I have tried it with and
without username, password, dbtype in the CFQUERY tag.

IS this the problem??

I'm thinking the problem is the SERVER doesn't have permissions to insert
into the database - it needs to be set up as database owner and hasn't been.
Which means I have to focus the SysAdmin's eye on it and that's not easy at
Easter time. IS there anything else I should look for? Something I might
have overlooked?

Cheers,

i agree. asp is designed as a COM wrapper.

however, i wasn't asking ease of coding. i was asking efficiency of the scripting
engine in regards to instantiating/manipulating objects.

i'd lean toward ASP being more effient in that regard, as well (after all, it was
designed to do that). i was just asking if anyone had empirical evidence.

Actually, why don't you just use an ASP page to send your mail via CDONTS rather than
going thru the CF Server? It should be more efficient since CDONTS is intrinsic to
IIS. My 2 cents.

Your page would then be similar to this:

'-Send Email

dim objMail
Set objMail = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail")

In the IIS management console, I don't think it's possible to point two
virtual servers to the same file. You can simply point them to a directory,
and they'll then create a subdirectory within that directory based on the
internal virtual service name (W3SVCx).

well, you can change the location of the logs when creating the virtual domains.
point them at the same file. of course, you may run into some SERIOUS concurrency
issues with two ISAPI processes writing to the file at the same time. as far as i've
seen (YMMV, of course), the process holds the file open until it hits the rotation
point. i can't predict that good things will happen when you ask two procs to have
the same file open.

what are you hoping to accomplish, though? perhaps there's another way around this.

Nope - I think not. No matter where you point your log file directory, IIS
will create a subdirectory indexed to the order your domains have been
created in (w3svc1-2-3 etc.). I doubt you are going to be able to change
this - you could try hacking up the registry I suppose .

Hi list, is there a way to write under MS-IIS 5 (Win2000) with two virtual
domains (One IP, via host-deader) in one (the same) log-file ?
I haven't figured out, how to do it, since IIS is installing a new logfile
when installing a new virtual domain.
Thanks for your ideas.
