Good news...Rick called a few minutes ago, he found 
his car. It appears that the thieves didn't cut the lock off the trailer 
hitch and didn't use safety chains as they found the car and trailer on

up a hill and came loose and went off the road. Trailer is tore up a 
bit, needs new jack and the hitch repaired. They stole his helmet, tach,

I like sixes in early Chevelles, they were still light enough to get away with it.
As for the seat belts: Where did you get the A20 from and what do the belts look 
like?
Seems all my cars came with belts, or had them put in later perhaps.
So tell us about the car!
Hardtop? which six, 194 or 230? The 230 would have come with the chrome on the engine.
Tranny?
What color?
Plans for the car?
Can I send you a set of  earplugs for all the times you're going to hear:

The A20 came off the cowl tag.  It is a 2 door hardtop. With the 230,
and yes it's got the original chrome valve cover.  It has a 2 speed PG
that need rebuilt.  We plan to pull the 6 and restore it.  The 350 out
of my '66 will be going in as soon as I finish my 396.  That way I won't
need those ear plugs :-) It's going to go back to the silver blue
metallic.  We going to do a frame off and then It'll be her Very nice
driver.

Yes, but you need to use the 72 headlight bezels to make it look correct.  I have a 71 
grill bezels on my 72.

[Chevelle-list] Front Drum Brake Parts

I had to clean out the garage over the weekend.  As a result, the front drum
brake parts that were removed from my 1970 Chevelle during the disc
conversion are now outside.  If anyone wants them, and is willing to pick
them up in York PA, they can have them for free.  What's in the box is the
components from the spindle on out for both wheels, master cylinder,
distribution block, and brake pedal.

Help! I had an HEI put in my 65 by Shade Tree Inc. 
at first it had one Pop through the carb, then another, then it got so bad I can 
not drive it and had it towed. If I cover the secondary with my hand (risking 
fire) and through it wide open it will not back fire. I pulled the manifold and 
replaced the new gaskets, and the carb gaskets. I guess I will put the old point 
distributor in next, what the Chevelle Hell is going on with my Baby? Who out 
there has gone through this, and what did you do? Mahalo from Maui,

changing the front mounts  Are the front mounts different.  Is the height of
the engine different?  Trying to order headers and this issue came up.

make this short I was useing por-15 on my skylark trunk and stuff, I was almost done and all of the sudden I sliped and fell kinda in the freshly painted trunk.
NOW I had por 15 all over my arms and know how it does not come off AT ALL

I started looks around my garage and I seen OIL EATER it is safe and bio degradable.
I bought this stuff a shucks in a gallon jug,
so I said what the hell I started with just putting it on and rubbing it in.. it was kinda like soap little foamy witch was nice. I let it set and put a little more on and put it on a clean rag. ALL of the sudden it just wiped OFF.. HOLY CRAP !! it works.
I did not peal skin off (RAY) nothing.
it came right off and no hard rubbing

it OIL EATER white jug with orange label dont forget IT

I had that problem with my Nova right after a dist was installed.  It
needs to be 're-stabbed', as in its installed a few (or many few)
degrees off, take it back and demand they fix it.

If you look at my June 5th post, I show the differences in BB and SB mounts.
The ONLY difference is a small recess in the mounts.  If I would have known
this, I would have saved about $100.  If you big block clears the mounts,
then you're fine.  They are the same height.  If you click the thumbnails,
it will enlarge the pictures for you.

How did you like it?   Did you also get the offset dowels from them?
I'm assuming you remove the bell and clutch, install the tool, re-install the bell?  
right?
Align the bell, remove, remove tool, reinstall clutch, re-install bell.

Just that easy right?  What, about 10-15 minutes?  :-)

Ok, I have a question...

Asking this is probably asking who to vote for in the next election, but
what size carb do you think I should run...

I am hopefully going to install my 502HO engine in the next month.
I emailed Holley, and I emailed Demon for their opinion.  What I thought
would be the deciding factor as both appear to know what they are doing
ended up making me more fustrated.
Holley says 850 Vacuum Secondaries with choke.
Demon says 750 Vacuum Secondaries with choke.

That is the engine specs, and cam information in the link above.

I'm torn.  I guess it's a guy thing, and of course I want an 850 (bigger is
better right? LOL) , but I remember my Father-In-Law's 383 ran much stronger
off the line with a 600cfm (loaner) carb than the 670 street avenger we put
on.

This car will be an occasional drag strip car, so take that into account.
Also I live in Louisiana, which tends to be very hot and humid most of the
year.

Here's a CFM calculator that supports the 750

But a few issues back of chevy rumble magazine, they had a 'drag formula'
that slightly overcompensated and usually produced a number over 850 for
this engine.  Who knows???

The ad says to top it off with a 750.  I guess that's what was on it when 
they dynoed the motor. I didn't think Holley made a 850 cfm with vacuum 
secondaries.  Double pumpers (4150 series) can work good, but they can be a 
pain to tune. The vacuum secondary carb will probably give you better 
mileage (you probably don't give a hoot about that) and is easier to work 
on.  Just my .02
