This one has two-four barrel carbs must be 62. Money wise around 10K+, I'm thinking.I have 2-396 BBs a 1966 (30,000 origional miles)and if I remember correctly a 1971 (100 miles since rebuild). Boy in the late 60's I was trying to buy a 64 SS with a 409...but a friend beat me to it. The 1st thing everybody did back then was to junk them old 409 and put in a 427. Now people are finding out that these old boat anchors wern't that bad, and restores are always looking for them. I'd say the car sounds like a good deal ( although I'm not sure of the price). sure if the motor is original though. Paint is OK and about 20 years old. The
top is decent but needs a new back window (plastic). The asking is 10,500. I
have no basis on whether this is a good price or not, there are not any listed

Good info. Regardless which motor it is, it's worth some money as they are all rare. I'd buy it. Don They made three different 409s in 63. Debuted 1961, dropped mid 1965 model year. The 348 and 409 W-Blocks are very unique engines; the cylinder itself was used as part of the combustion chamber. The 409 was a good engine, not as good as the newer big blocks but it still made 425hp. It is a very rare engine today & very valuable if it's in good condition. Parts are rare & expensive though. The 409 is a good strong engine.
