I don't know if anybody else picked up on this but, in Oct of last year there was a heated discussion about politics. There was a horse butt then that wrote all in lower case letters much like cloner, e.e.cummings wanna be, and was very opinionated and insulting much like our cloner pal. Just wonder if we are infected with the same virus under a different name. Anyway, can we please move on down the road; this BS is so counter productive. RE: [Chevelle-list] New to the El Camino world ( tell it like it is)
My sentiments exactly. Let’s get back to talking cars. EFI update: My EFI system is running and drivable. I drove my car about 50-60 miles over the weekend with zero problems. It’s not fully tuned, but it starts and drives. I’m stuck with base timing of 10 degrees (no mechical or vacuum advance) for the time being. My Megasquirt-II processor showed up, which will allow me to do computer controlled timing too, but something didn’t work right and I had to ship it back. It’s pretty cool when you start the car from stone cold and it idles perfect… :-) -Dave From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Holleman Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2005 9:53 AM To: The Chevelle Mailing List Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] New to the El Camino world ( tell it like it is) The key lesson for us from this post is to respect another's passion for whatever vehicle spins their wheels. Then why are you insulting people instead of attempting to help them. Dumb idea’s in mind I guess Ford shouldn’t have attempted to mass produce his cars, I am sure a lot of people thought that was a dumb idea at the time. What is dumb to one person is not necessarily dumb to everyone else, so maybe if it bothers you, you should just ignore it. I am sorry we are not all as intelligent as you or have all of the information you do, so we do have to ask I guess what you are calling stupid questions, but that is how we learn and why the web sight exists not to tear down and insult people for asking an honest question to them, but stupid to you. If you want to help then be nice and help answer the questions being asked. I admit I do not know everything I need to know, but because of people like you I do not ask the questions on this sight that I need to, and have only recently started writing at all mainly to counteract people like you. Actually a big waste of time and I think I will follow my own advise in the future and ignore people like you and correspond with the 99% of helpful nice people on this web sight. Very well written Larry, and with proper grammar too. I'm not sure he will "get it" though. Maybe you should have added the following progressive phrase in his level of arguement"WELL, MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD". p.s. My mechanic back in Maryland used to drag race a very nice post-79 Camino with an Olds 455 wedged in it. It performed very well and always had everyone trying to figure out what was under the hood. I tink that you should never worry about what other people think as long as your project makes you happy. It's your money... Copo : Caps are a sign of shouting. How old are you ? I'm guessing maybe 16-17. This is an open forum. If you don't like Wtf is said to you, why don't you leave the list ? On this list we don't diss others. I suggest maybe you should STFU or you may find yourself shunned by everyone. I think you owe everyone on here an apology. Oh and another thing you do not have a clue Sonny on Wtf I own Dickweed. Larry (Z)

I try to stay out of things like this, but copocloner did come off sounding a bit harsh. The original poster was just trying to get a recommendation for a local mechanic to fix some carb issues. Sorry, I don’t know any Florida mechanics. Frankly, I’d love to find a good 78-87 Elky for a daily driver. If there’s a rust-free one around for $800, I’d buy it. I miss the ease of hauling things I had with my ’72. V8 power, it ain’t 5000+ lbs like a full-size pickup, and it’ll fit in my 20-foot deep garage. Perfect for urban rednecks like me. :-) -Dave From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Clint Hooper Sent: Sunday, April 10, 2005 11:36 PM To: The Chevelle Mailing List Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] New to the El Camino world ( tell it like it is) Better put on your flame suit, dude. Maybe he likes the car. I guess you would have a problem with someone that wants to build a 77 Malibu Classic too. nothing wrong with that car either. Some people are not in it for the investment aspect, just for the fun of it and that is what should be encouraged. Basically you said "that car is a worthless POS". Once again, not your decision to build it. I've been working on/restoring/modifying my 86 Cutlass since I got it back in 1997. I've probably dumped well over $5000 into it between engines, transmission, rears, etc, but guess what, I choose to and it's my business, no one elses. Will I ever get that kind of $$ if I decide to sell it, nope, but I could care less because I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. Tom
