Whites targeted in Mugabe's race war

By ERIC MARGOLIS
Contributing Foreign Editor

NEW YORK -- The murder of another white farmer in Zimbabwe last week is
emblematic of a tragic, but little known story - the relentless ethnic
cleansing of the white tribes of Africa.

Martin Olds was besieged at his isolated tobacco farm by a gang of 100
thugs. After holding them off for many hours, he was finally wounded, driven
from his burning farmhouse, then killed. The attackers were unleashed as a
part of a campaign by Zimbabwe's aging strongman, Robert Mugabe, to divert
attention from the nation's collapsing economy, and to restore his waning
political power by whipping up hatred of the nation's 4,000 white farmers.

These whites, many third-generation farmers, own a sizable portion of the
nation's prime farmland, and produce 80% of Zimbabwe's agricultural exports.
Without them, Zimbabwe's economy would collapse. But Mugabe still chose to
revive racial hatreds from the 1970-1980 black-white war in former Rhodesia
that cost 27,000 lives and forced half the nation's white citizens to flee.

The murder in Zimbabwe brings back ugly memories. Back in the late 1980s, I
accompanied black South African troops patrolling the Limpopo River border
between Zimbabwe and South Africa. Bands of African National Congress thugs
and pillagers, described in the liberal western press as "freedom fighters,"
were raiding isolated farmhouses along the Limpopo. I vividly recall one
burned-out farm where a 74-year-old man and his 68-year-old wife had held
off some 200 ANC thugs for an entire night. The marauders finally ignited
the roof with Molotov cocktails and drove the occupants outside. The old man
was shot, then hacked to death with machetes; his wife was gang raped, then
slashed to death. This was a part of South Africa's and Zimbabwe's
anti-white "liberation struggle" the outside world was not shown.

Lost everything

Whites have been largely driven from African nations where they once lived
in significant numbers. Many lost everything they owned. Many were not even
large landowners, but farm labourers and blue or white collar workers.

The once substantial European and Asian populations of East Africa - Kenya,
Zimbabwe, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania - were all forced to flee. The important
South Asian Hindu and Muslim communities of Uganda and Kenya were terrorized
into exile after their shops were looted and many of their women raped or
threatened with rape. Zanzibar's entire Arab population - tens of thousands
of people - was massacred in 1964.

Hundreds of thousands of Portuguese, some from families that had lived for
300 years in Africa, were driven from Mozambique, Angola and Portuguese West
Africa. South Africa's remaining 1.6 million whites, some whose families
came in the mid-1600s, are fleeing in increasing numbers as crime engulfs
the nation. As in Zimbabwe, black extremists in South Africa are calling for
confiscation of all white "colonialist" property.

The view that Africa's whites are latter-day colonialists who deserve to be
expelled is widely shared by the western media. After all, hadn't they or
their fathers settled on lands that originally belonged to blacks? This view
is not only simplistic, it's often wrong.

The African continent has seen vast population and tribal movements over
the past 600 years. Bantu blacks only began to filter out of the Congo basin
southward towards today's South Africa in the 1500s. White settlers from
Flanders and Europe actually preceded them to the Cape Colony. In 1838, Boer
pioneers moving north, and Zulu forces expanding south, met and fought in
northern Transvaal. During the same era, the mighty Zulu empire was
conducting the notorious mfakane - or mass slaughter and ethnic cleansing -
of their tribal enemies, the Xhosa and Shona, an event that still stokes
tribal tensions today in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Much of Africa's peripheral areas were barely populated during the early
era of European colonial rule, or inhabited by non-Bantu peoples who have
died out, like the Cape's Hottentots, or been displaced, like Tutsis or
Tuaregs. In effect, the Bantu have no better historical claim to many parts
of once European-ruled Africa than do descendents of whites, Indians or
Arabs.

Most important, as I found during East Africa's bush wars, white Rhodesians
and South African Boers were not Europeans at all, but two distinct African
tribes that happened to have white skins. A few nights in the field with the
famed Rhodesian Selous Scouts left me in awe of these burly, hard-drinking,
men who spoke badly mauled English and knew the bundu - or bush - like the
backs of their big, weather-beaten hands. Europeans they were not.

The real problem in Zimbabwe is not that a tiny white minority has usurped
the only fertile land. Zimbabwe, and the rest of Africa, have plenty of
potentially productive land that today lies fallow

What is behind the Elian case?
Jon Roland, Constitution Society

The Elian case has given rise to much discussion of why the Clinton
administration seems so desperate to placate Castro's demands for the return
of Elian Gonzalez. Their April 22 raid, just a day before Easter, seems to
have been done, more than anything else, in response to a deadline imposed
by Castro. If so, then what threat from Castro could motivate an action that
is likely to cost the Democrats the next election?

Dick Morris has suggested that the blackmail threat is of another Mariel
exodus, dumping thousands of Cuban criminals and mentally deranged persons
on the United States, as were most of the 125,000 Cubans that were ejected
for the United States in 1980, which has caused a great deal of trouble, and
to which Morris says Clinton attributed his election loss as governor.

While the behavior of the Clinton administration in the Elian case does
indicate it is being done under threat of blackmail, the "nuevo Mariel"
theory does not offer a convincing explanation, and may be a misdirection.
After all, another Mariel would have little effect on the Clintons or their
fortunes, or even on the fortunes of the Democrats, except perhaps in a few
local elections. That is a solvable problem.

No, the threat must be far more serious than that. For a more plausible
theory, we need to consider what Castro might have on Clinton and the
Democrats that could drive this administration to conduct such a politically
disastrous action, despite the efforts of rigged polls to conceal the
political fallout.

What Castro and Clinton have in common is drugs. The recent article in _The
New Australian_ suggests a better theory. Cuba has become a major transit
route for cocaine smuggling into the United States, under the protection of
the Cuban government. It is thought to provide much of the funds needed to
sustain the Castro regime, after the loss of aid from the Soviet Union.
However, for all his faults, Castro is a committed communist, and it is
thought that being a drug lord is not how he wants to be remembered by
history.

And his legacy may be on his mind now. There are rumors that he is in ill
health, perhaps even suffering from a terminal malady. He knows his regime
will not survive his death. Therefore, he must be considering what he can do
for his swan song. Therefore, we need to ask ourselves what sort of thing he
might try to do.

Several things suggest themselves. One is a kind of "April surprise", like
the rumored "October surprise", in which the Republicans, through William
Casey, made a deal with the Iranians to continue to hold the hostages
through the 1980 election and until the inauguration, which helped defeat
Jimmie Carter, in exchange for arms, which were delivered under the cover of
the Iran-Contra operation, to provide a plausible misdirection for the
motive for it (raising funds to support the contras).

So who benefits under this theory. The Republicans. Castro may be
blackmailing Clinton into doing something that will cost Gore the election,
so that the Republicans will win, and perhaps pay off Castro in some way.

This theory is plausible for another reason, because both the Democrat and
Republican leadership is suspected of complicity in narcotics trafficking.
Clinton may have protected the transit operations at the Mena airport, but
it was George Bush and Oliver North who are reported to have been most
directly involved in that operation. Castro may be blackmailing the
Republicans as well, by threatening to disclose information about such
activities that could not be ignored, as have all the eyewitness reports of
persons involved in such operations.

The situation of narcotics trade needs to be reviewed. It is estimated to be
the single largest market in the world, greater than the market for food. It
is thought to involve more than $200 billion in annual sales in the United
States, which is more than there is currency in circulation. Since almost
all of this trade is in cash, that means that almost all cash needs to be
laundered to support the narcotics trade, and it is often said that within a
few weeks, most new currency becomes tainted with cocaine. How does all this

 ABSTRACT

Autism is a neurodevelopmental syndrome characterized by
impairments in social relatedness, language, and communication,
a need for routine and sameness, abnormal movements, and sensory
dysfunction. Mercury is a toxic metal that can exist as a pure
element or in a variety of inorganic and organic forms and can
cause immune, sensory, neurological, motor, and other behavioral
 dysfunctions.

The characteristics of autism and mercury poisoning, derived from
a review of medical literature, have been found, upon comparison,
to be strikingly similar. The characteristics of both disorders
are summarized in the following table and fully elucidated in the
body of this document. The parallels between the two diseases are
so close that it would be unreasonable to assume that the
 similarities occur by chance.

We claim that autism is a form of mercury poisoning, based on
similarities of characteristics and on the known exposure to
mercury of the majority of US children. The exposure route is
childhood vaccines, most of which contain thimerosal, a
preservative comprised of 50% ethylmercury by weight. The amount
of mercury a typical child under two years receives from
 vaccinations equates to 237.5 micrograms, or 3.53 x 1017
molecules (353,000,000,000,000,000 molecules), most of which is
not excreted and goes directly to the brain. The amount is known
to exceed Federal safety standards, but is still considered a
"low" level, such that only a small percentage of exposed
individuals will exhibit signs of toxicity. Affected individuals
are those genetically prone to mercury sensitivity, which is
consistent with the observed high heritability rate of autism.
Furthermore, the timing of mercury exposure via vaccines
coincides with the emergence of autistic symptoms. Moreover,
mercury has been detected in urine, hair, and blood samples from
autistic children, and parental reports, though limited at this
date, indicate significant improvement in symptoms with
administration of standard heavy metal chelators. Thus, the four
agreed-upon criteria used by clinicians to diagnose mercury
poisoning -- i.e., observable symptoms, known exposure at the
time of symptom onset, detectable levels in biologic samples,
and improvement with chelation -- have been met for autism.

The phenotypic expression of mercury poisoning varies by a host
of factors -- including type of mercury given, method of
administration, rate and level of dose, individual genotype, and
age of patient -- so that each variation in factors has created
in the past a slightly different manifestation of the disease --
Mad Hatter's disease, Minamata disease, and acrodynia, for
example. The pathology arising from the set of mercury-related
variables involved in autism -- intermittent bolus doses of
ethylmercury injected into genetically susceptible infants and
toddlers -- has never been reported before in medical literature.
Thus we argue that autism represents a unique form of mercury
poisoning not heretofore described. Our findings have widespread
implications for the affected population of autistic individuals,
for other unexplained disorders with symptoms similar to heavy
metal intoxication, and for childhood vaccination programs.

Miss Albright has gone a long way from her question to Clinton about how it
was all going down the drain. I guess if a journalist asks embarrasing
enough questions, they too, can become parties to mass murder. (btw: after a
discussion with someone onlist about Iraq I did some more research and have
found it to be a lot different than media portrayals. Those poor people
really did want us to help them escape their leaders. I will admit when
shown that I am incorrect, but it seems that the associated press runs our
lives and we fall for it hook line and sinker without even realizing it.)
Children especially depend on us to protect them from the evils we adults
have allowed to fester in this world. It breaks my heart how we seem to be
able to do nothing to help them. Does voting even help? Not if the vote
count theories are correct.

Terrorism is the response of the weak to the terrorism of the US collective
oligarchy.

On 29 Jan. 1999, Mrs. Albright met with Messrs. Berger and Cohen, and
decided
to offer the president of Yugoslavia an ultimatum. Give up sovereignty and
accept NATO/American forces on your territory or be bombed.
In an interview with U.S. Secretary of State (then Ambassador) Albright
(May 12, 1996) on the TV program '60 Minutes,' for which Leslie Stahl was
given a Columbia University School of Journalism award in 1997, Stahl said
that U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization figures showed that half a
million children died from starvation as a result of the American-led
sanctions against Iraq.
"I mean, that's more than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price
worth it?"
Ambassador Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the
price-we think the price is worth it." [Half million children then. How

Netscape Communicator 4.7 (which I use for e-mail) pretends to

Re: [CTRL] Correct - ing Easter

2000-04-27 Thread blue honey

Losing Faith In Faith: From Preacher To Atheist -- Chapter 24 - Dan
Barker

Leave No Stone Unturned
An Easter Challenge For ChristiansI HAVE AN EASTER challenge for
Christians. My challenge is simply this: tell me what happened on Easter. I am
not asking for proof. My straightforward request is merely that Christians tell
me exactly what happened on the day that their most important doctrine was born.

Believers should eagerly take up this challenge, since without the
resurrection, there is no Christianity. Paul wrote, "And if Christ be not risen,
then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found
false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up
Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not." (I Corinthians
15:14-15)
The conditions of the challenge are simple and reasonable. In each of the
four Gospels, begin at Easter morning and read to the end of the book: Matthew
28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20-21. Also read Acts 1:3-12 and Paul's tiny
version of the story in I Corinthians 15:3-8. These 165 verses can be read in a
few moments. Then, without omitting a single detail from these separate
accounts, write a simple, chronological narrative of the events between the
resurrection and the ascension: what happened first, second, and so on; who said
what, when; and where these things happened.
Since the gospels do not always give precise times of day, it is permissible
to make educated guesses. The narrative does not have to pretend to present a
perfect picture--it only needs to give at least one plausible account of all of
the facts. Additional explanation of the narrative may be set apart in
parentheses. The important condition to the challenge, however, is that not
one single biblical detail be omitted. Fair enough?
I have tried this challenge myself. I failed. An Assembly of God minister
whom I was debating a couple of years ago on a Florida radio show loudly
proclaimed over the air that he would send me the narrative in a few days. I am
still waiting. After my debate at the University of Wisconsin, "Jesus of
Nazareth: Messiah or Myth," a Lutheran graduate student told me he accepted the
challenge and would be contacting me in about a week. I have never heard from
him. Both of these people, and others, agreed that the request was reasonable
and crucial. Maybe they are slow readers.
Many bible stories are given only once or twice, and are therefore hard to
confirm. The author of Matthew, for example, was the only one to mention that at
the crucifixion dead people emerged from the graves of Jerusalem, walking around
showing themselves to everyone--an amazing event that could hardly escape the
notice of the other Gospel writers, or any other historians of the period. But
though the silence of others might weaken the likelihood of a story, it does not
disprove it. Disconfirmation comes with contradictions.
Thomas Paine tackled this matter two hundred years ago in The Age of
Reason, stumbling across dozens of New Testament discrepancies:

"I lay it down as a position which cannot be controverted," he
wrote, "first, that the agreement of all the parts of a story does not prove
  that story to be true, because the parts may agree and the whole may be false;
secondly, that the disagreement of the parts of a story proves
the whole cannot be true." Since Easter is told by five
different writers, it gives one of the best chances to confirm or disconfirm the
account. Christians should welcome the opportunity.
One of the first problems I found is in Matthew 28:2, after two women arrived
at the tomb: "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the
Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,
and sat upon it." (Let's ignore the fact that no other writer mentioned this
"great earthquake.") This story says that the stone was rolled away after the
women arrived, in their presence.
Yet Mark's Gospel says it happened before the women arrived: "And
they said among themselves, Who shall roll away the stone from the door of the
sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it
was very great."
Luke writes: "And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre." John
agrees. No earthquake, no rolling stone. It is a three-to-one vote: Matthew
loses. (Or else the other three are wrong.) The event cannot have happened both
before and after they arrived.
Some bible defenders assert that Matthew 28:2 was intended to be understood
in the past perfect, showing what had happened before the women arrived. But the
entire passage is in the aorist (past) tense, and it reads, in context, like a
simple chronological account. Matthew 28:2 begins, "And, behold," not "For,
behold." If this verse can be so easily shuffled around, then what is to keep us
from putting the flood before the ark, or the crucifixion before

  Easter

Losing Faith In Faith: From Preacher To Atheist -- Chapter 24 - Dan
  Barker

  Leave No Stone Unturned
An Easter Challenge For ChristiansI HAVE AN EASTER challenge for
Christians. My challenge is simply this: tell me what happened on Easter. I am
not asking for proof. My straightforward request is merely that Christians
tell me exactly what happened on the day that their most important doctrine
  was born.
Believers should eagerly take up this challenge, since without the
resurrection, there is no Christianity. Paul wrote, "And if Christ be not
risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we
are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he
raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not." (I
  Corinthians 15:14-15)
The conditions of the challenge are simple and reasonable. In each of the
four Gospels, begin at Easter morning and read to the end of the book: Matthew
28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20-21. Also read Acts 1:3-12 and Paul's tiny
version of the story in I Corinthians 15:3-8. These 165 verses can be read in
a few moments. Then, without omitting a single detail from these separate
accounts, write a simple, chronological narrative of the events between the
resurrection and the ascension: what happened first, second, and so on; who
said what, when; and where these things happened.
Since the gospels do not always give precise times of day, it is
permissible to make educated guesses. The narrative does not have to pretend
to present a perfect picture--it only needs to give at least one plausible
account of all of the facts. Additional explanation of the narrative may be
set apart in parentheses. The important condition to the challenge,
however, is that not one single biblical detail be omitted. Fair enough?
I have tried this challenge myself. I failed. An Assembly of God minister
whom I was debating a couple of years ago on a Florida radio show loudly
proclaimed over the air that he would send me the narrative in a few days. I
am still waiting. After my debate at the University of Wisconsin, "Jesus of
Nazareth: Messiah or Myth," a Lutheran graduate student told me he accepted
the challenge and would be contacting me in about a week. I have never heard
from him. Both of these people, and others, agreed that the request was
reasonable and crucial. Maybe they are slow readers.
Many bible stories are given only once or twice, and are therefore hard to
confirm. The author of Matthew, for example, was the only one to mention that
at the crucifixion dead people emerged from the graves of Jerusalem, walking
around showing themselves to everyone--an amazing event that could hardly
escape the notice of the other Gospel writers, or any other historians of the
period. But though the silence of others might weaken the likelihood of a
story, it does not disprove it. Disconfirmation comes with contradictions.
Thomas Paine tackled this matter two hundred years ago in The Age of
Reason, stumbling across dozens of New Testament discrepancies:

"I lay it down as a position which cannot be controverted," he
wrote, "first, that the agreement of all the parts of a story does not prove
that story to be true, because the parts may agree and the whole may be
false; secondly, that the disagreement of the parts of a story
proves the whole cannot be true." Since Easter is told
by five different writers, it gives one of the best chances to confirm or
disconfirm the account. Christians should welcome the opportunity.
One of the first problems I found is in Matthew 28:2, after two women
arrived at the tomb: "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel
of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the
door, and sat upon it." (Let's ignore the fact that no other writer mentioned
this "great earthquake.") This story says that the stone was rolled

EARTH DAY PLUS THIRTY, AS SEEN BY THE EARTHby Donella
MeadowsIf, in the thirty Earth Day celebrations we have held since 1970,
the human population and economy have become any more respectful of the Earth,
the Earth hasn't noticed. The planet is not impressed by fancy
speeches. Leonardo DiCaprio interviewing Bill Clinton about global warming
is not an Earth-shaking event. The Earth has no way of registering good
intentions or future inventions or high hopes. It doesn't even pay
attention to dollars, which are, from a planet's point of view, just a charming
human invention. Planets measure only physical things-- energy and
materials and their flows into and out of thechanging populations of
living creatures. What the Earth sees is that on the first Earth Day in
1970 there were 3.7 billion of those hyperactive critters called humans, and now
there are over 6 billion. Back in 1970 those humans drew from the Earth's
crust 46 million barrels of oil every day -- now they draw 78
million.Natural gas extraction has nearly tripled in thirty years, from
34 trillion cubic feet per year to 95 trillion. We mined 2.2 billion
metric tons in 1970; this year we'll mine about 3.8 billion. The planet
feels this fossil fuel use in many ways, as the fuels are extracted (and
spilled) and shipped (and spilled) and refined (generating toxics) and burned
into numerous pollutants, including carbon dioxide, which traps outgoing energy
and warms things up.Despite global conferences and brave promises, what
the Earth notices is that human carbon emissions have increased from3.9
million metric tons in 1970 to an estimated 6.4 million this year. You
would think that an unimaginably huge thing like a planet would not notice the
one degree (Fahrenheit) warming it has experienced since1970. But on
the scale of a whole planet, one degree is a big deal, especially since it is
not spread evenly. The poles have warmed more thanthe equator, the
winters more than the summers, the nights more than the days. That means
that temperature DIFFERENCES from one place to another have been changing much
more than the average temperature has changed. Temperature differences are
what make winds blow, rains rain, ocean currents flow. All creatures,
including humans, are exquisitely attuned to the weather. All creatures,
including us, are noticing weather weirdness and trying to adjust, by moving, by
fruiting earlier or migrating later, by building up whatever protections are
possible against flood and drought. The Earth is reacting to weather
changes too, shrinking glaciers, splitting off nation-sized chunks of Antarctic
ice sheet, enhancing the cycles we call El Nino and La Nina."Earth Day,
Shmearth Day," the planet must be thinking as its fever mounts. "Are you folks
ever going to take me seriously?"Since the first Earth Day our global
vehicle population has swelled from 246 to 730 million. Air traffic has
gone up by a factor of six. Therate at which we grind up trees to
make paper has doubled (to 200 millionmetric tons per year). We
coax from the soil, with the help of strange chemicals, 2.25 times as much
wheat, 2.5 times as much corn, 2.2 times as much rice, almost twice as much
sugar, almost four times as many soybeans as we did thirty years ago.We
pull from the oceans almost twice as much fish. With the fish we can see clearly
how the planet behaves, when we pushit too far. It does not feel sorry
for us; it just follows its own rules. Fish become harder and harder to
find. If they are caught before they're old enough to reproduce, if their
nursery habitat is destroyed, if we scoop up not only the cod, but the capelin
upon which the cod feeds, the fish may never come back. The Earth does
not care that we didn't mean it, that we promise not to do it again, that we
make nice gestures every Earth Day.We have among us die-hard optimists
who will berate me for not reporting the good news since the last Earth
Day. There is plenty of it, but it is mostly measured in human terms, not
Earth terms.Average human life expectancy has risen since 1970 from 58
to 66 years.Gross world product has more than doubled, from 16 to 39
trillion dollars.Recycling has increased, but so has trash generation,
so the Earth receives more garbage than ever before.Wind and solar power
generation have soared, but so have coal-fired, gas-fired and nuclear
generation. In human terms there has been breathtaking progress. In
1970 there weren't any cell phones or video players. There was no
Internet; there were no dot-coms.Nor was anyone infected with AIDS, of
course, nor did we have to worry about genetic engineering.Global
spending on advertising was only one-third of what it is now (in
inflation-corrected dollars). Third-World debt was one-eighth of what it
is now.Whether you call any of that progress, it is all beneath the
notice of the Earth. What the Earth sees is that its species are
vanishing at a rate it hasn't seen

[CTRL] The Best Spies

Please note the comment on Israeli spies being able to get help from Jews

`Russian, British, Israeli spies best'
http://www.timesofindia.com/today/27worl18.htm

MOSCOW: A high-ranking Russian security official
praised British and Israeli spies on Wednesday,
saying they ranked with Russian agents as the best
in the world.

Sergei Ivanov, head of the Security Council which
advises President-elect Vladimir Putin, also said
spies from the United States had too much money
and were spoilt.

"Ours, British and Israeli," Ivanov, a former worker
for the KGB Soviet security police, told the Argumenti
i Fakti weekly newspaper when asked which country had
the best agents.

"British counter-intelligence has an excellent school
and traditions, they prepare their agents very well,"
he said.

He said Israeli agents could get help from Jews the
world over, who would not hand the agent over if
approached.

"The Americans have too much money. This leads to an
impression that everything in the world can be bought
and you don't have to use your head," he said.

Spying disputes between the West and Russia are still
fairly common although the heyday of the Cold War is
long past.

Russia recently arrested a U.S. citizen and a Russian
on charges of trying to gain secret information on an
underwater sea missile.
The Russian FSB counter-intelligence agency also
recently announced it had arrested a Russian on charges
of working as a spy for Britain. (Reuters)

[CTRL] Doc To Marisleysis and Christian Duty Under Corrupt Government

2000-04-27 Thread Tara

I would give that credit to his mom. It doesn't take a village to raise a
child. It takes a mom. Or a LOVING father. I would die for my children, and
they know it. They're good kids, and I think it's because they know how much
they are loved. Maybe the Cuban dissidents are good mom's. I think that they
have suffered and try to make their children not afraid, and to protect
them.

And I think Marisleysis deserves a big round of applause, despite the
terrible things that are being said about her. She took a child who had just
watched his mom die, and then floated in shark-infested waters for, if I
remember correctly, 3 days, and made him feel safe all over again. That is
quite an accomplishment and quite a daunting task. I've been in a situation
with one of my children suffering a tragic event in their life, and it is
something that only love can heal, a child having been through such a
terrible experience.

And to Bill who wrote:

FBI settles privacy lawsuit by paying $6 million
http

ww.postnet.com/postnet/stories.nsf/ByDocID/6C540D1BC312F9EA862568CE00084CDD
By Philip Dine
Post-Dispatch Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON - The Justice Department has agreed
to pay $6 million to a former McDonnell Douglas
consultant who says his privacy was invaded and
his reputation damaged by the FBI.

The settlement, reached Wednesday, is believed
to be the largest ever given by the government
for violation of the Privacy Act.

The matter was set to go to trial early next
week.

The former consultant, Thomas C. Stewart, who is
based in Portland, Ore., had accused the FBI of
circulating false information about him in 1996
as he tried to help the St. Louis-based defense
contractor sell fighter jets in Eastern Europe.

That material, including suggestions that Stewart
had tried to bribe a Czech defense official, made
its way to the Czech press. This led to such
headlines as: "Beware of the Man From Douglas" and
"McDonnell Douglas Bid Clouded by FBI Allegations."

As a result, McDonnell let Stewart go in April 1997.
That fall, Stewart sued the FBI.

His attorney, Carol Emory, on Wednesday called
the settlement "a long overdue vindication."

But Stewart and his attorneys said that the
government's conduct, and its refusal even now to
admit a mistake and take corrective action, point
to a need to make the FBI more accountable.

"When this began, all I wanted was for the FBI
to clear my name," Stewart said. "They had made a
mistake, and at that time had the power to easily
admit and correct that mistake. The fact that it
took almost four years of litigation and the
intervention of a federal judge to bring the case
to closure speaks strongly for the need for
substantial reform in monitoring FBI misconduct."

The Justice Department, which oversees the FBI, said
Wednesday that it was admitting no wrongdoing and had
agreed to settle as a way of "resolving without further
litigation" the complaint by Stewart.

"We maintain that we did not violate the Privacy Act,"
Justice Department spokesman Charles Wilson said.

At the time the events took place, Stewart was trying
to help McDonnell sell 30 St. Louis-built F/A-18
fighter jets - worth about $1 billion - to the Czech
Republic. McDonnell was subsequently bought by Boeing,
which continues to make the F/A-18s, or Hornets, in St.
Louis.

Stewart was decorated for missions flown as a Navy
Reserve commander during the Persian Gulf War. He was
using his contacts to try to help McDonnell get the
contract amid competition from French, Swedish, British
and other U.S. companies.

But there had been a falling out between Stewart and a
business associate. The partner told the FBI that Stewart
had misrepresented himself as a U.S. official in the
Czech Republic and had sought to pay off a Czech defense
figure, Otakar Vychodil.

Stewart said his problems began after the FBI's Portland
office sent an eight-page unsigned document to Czech
officials in the summer of 1996, purportedly to see
whether any of the country's laws had been violated.
A copy also went to the U.S. Embassy in Prague.

The document painted a colorful picture of Stewart as a
braggart and as someone willing to endanger others for
his own purposes. It made its way to the Czech press,
resulting in highly negative publicity about McDonnell
Douglas and about Stewart.

The allegations were unrelated to Stewart's work for
McDonnell, but they led the company to decide not to
renew his contract in April 1997, a year after he'd been
hired.

Stewart contended that the FBI acted irresponsibility
in never interviewing him or verifying the allegations,
which he and Vychodil strenuously denied.

The Post-Dispatch reported in 1997 that Air Force
officers at the embassy were secretly trying to pressure
the Czechs into choosing a competing plane built by
Lockheed Martin. That plane, the F-16, is a U.S. Air Force
plane, while the Hornet is used by the Navy, and additional
overseas sales of the F-16 would have lowered Air Force
costs.

Following the Post-Dispatch reports, Defense Secretary
William Cohen issued a worldwide directive that U.S.
representatives abroad observe strict neutrality in
commercial transactions where two or more American
companies were competing for a contract.

The Czechs have yet to award a contract for the fighter
jets.

Stewart's trial attorney, Christopher Kent, said the
settlement efforts got a boost when federal judge in
Oregon found last year that the FBI had violated the
Privacy Act in releasing the report about Stewart, who
is an investment banker outside Portland. The trial next
week would have been to assess how much he had been
damaged by those actions.

Kent said he was told by government officials that the
$6 million is the largest settlement ever agreed to for
violation of the Privacy Act. Wilson, the Justice
Department spokesman, said the agency knew of none bigger.

[CTRL] Brit radio licenses sold for $33 Billion!

2000-04-27 Thread name AOL USER

the BBC is reporting:
The £22.47bn windfall is equivalent to £400 per person in the UK.

Now this includes every living person, rich or poor, young or old.
About $600 each in dollars.
Now, how much money can these guys make, when there are existing competitors?
Am I missing something here?
add to this cost, the costs of constructing the systems, and the cost of
customer acquisition.
Rates for PCS service are down to 5 cents a minute in some US markets. How
much can they make off us?

Can the carriers ever repay the debt? Or do we have another world-wide
Savings and Loan scandal/debacle? If so, the governments bail out (our $)
will be needed to prevent a meltdown.

quite an accomplishment and quite a daunting task. I've been in a situation
with one of my children suffering a tragic event in their life, and it is
something that only love can heal, a child having been through such a
 terrible experience.

I don't know. The child was showered with constant presents, and I don't
know how some of the presents fared. The puppy and the bunny disappeared.
Young animals that are overhandled die quickly. We (if we are normal) would
all die for our children. That does not mean we should be idiotic about
their behavior. A child who is properly reared and loved can recover
quickly from difficult situations. That child does not have to be constantly
showered with gifts. The Miami family did not nurture in a way that I would
like for my own children. Prudy

The Miami "family" will really hit the roof when their INS "visit" is
followed by an IRS "visit".
According to an account I read, they've received about $200,000 in cash
doantions, gifts, and free services. Meaning taxes due of about $60,000.
Wanna bet they never pay?
If that were me, the IRS would have me in jail.

April 23, 2000 NA (Network America) e-wire

Easter Sunday Fall Out – Elian; Gathering Storm

This list deals with organizing America through networking, the nature
of the “Ruling Elite” behind the emerging New World Order Government,
“votefraud vs. honest elections”, and coordinated manipulation of the
collective American mind by Big Media and Big Government. Today’s report
bears on the nature of the Ruling Elite, and what they are attempting to
do to the American mind during the Elian affair.

After Janet Reno, who does such a spiffy job of dressing like “Alice the
Goon” of Popeye fame, acted the “point man” for the New World Order
Government’s snatching of Elian Gonzales, here are some points that
Americans should ponder. (Incidentally, I’m not Reno’s physical
characteristics, which she cannot help anymore than the rest of it can;
many women have the same basic features WITHOUT giving off the robotic,
dead-eyed, soulless, evil, menacing aura of “Alice the Goon”; someone
like Reno only sinks to that depth through years and years of
deliberating choosing to walk down the path of evil. The “Elian seizing”
was just the latest building block in Reno’s public career, which has
become a monument to evil.)

Reno, Clinton, and so many others in public life call to mind the
Biblical injunction: “Woe to those who call ‘good’ evil, and ‘evil’
good.”

Item: Kate O’Beirne, of National Review, on Capitol Gang: “This boy has
been returned to Castro’s custody.” So right on – but next Kate and Bob
Novak fell into the trap – for the 2 millionth time, -- of giving
unreserved credence to the Big TV network polls – which claim that 59%
of Americans APPROVE of the way Janet Reno sent the armed thugs to seize
Elian. Again, WHY accept these polls which ALWAYS support EXACTLY what
the New World Order Government wants at every key moment. I want proof.
How are these public opinion polls done? What questions are asked? What
facts or “facts” are given the people polled? What preliminary questions
are asked before the poll the is taken – and are some people
disqualified from the poll if they answer those preliminary questions
wrong? How many people are polled in total? Is only a cross section of
those polled selected for inclusion? Is the poll just done for cover,
with the results ultimately fabricated to get the sought after favored
result? Remember, only the well-connected poll company OWNERS, like
Zogby, Harris, and Gallup, ever see the complete results; those doing
the calling have no way of knowing what the aggregate results indicated.
(Needles to say, these questions apply to any issue, any day of the
week.)

Item: One of the Congressman from the Miami area revealed on Evans and
Novak that Castro is running BOTH the photo of the INS Thug pointing the
gun at Elian and Donato (the fisherman rescuer), and the film of the New
World Order Storm Troopers rushing a screaming Elian out to the
government car – on Cuban TV almost constantly. The Congressman made the
point that OBVIOUSLY this was a tremendous propaganda piece for Castro
to demoralize the freedom fighters in his gulags, and show the oppressed
people of Cuba HOW MUCH the US Government backs him up. Exactly.

Item: Let’s talk about the dynamics of the newsmedia in the USA. As you
know, the Big TV networks are the number one target of this e-wire,
because of their collaboration on the major story for each day, and the
angle from which they all cover the major story of each day. Yet, today,
we are beholden to these same Big TV Networks for making the AP photo of
the INS automatic weapon raid against Elian and the Gonzales family
known and notorious throughout the world. How explain this seeming
contradiction.

The local “on the spot” cameramen and reporters are overwhelmingly
trying to get the news. So things that break spontaneously are
immediately rushed onto the air. If things break so spontaneously that
the Network Owners or their agents can’t decide whether or not to censor
it, it gets out. Certainly, I’m not suggesting that there is even time
for the heads of the five networks to confer by phone, or through
intermediaries, regarding whether to release such items as the photo of
the gun in Elian’s face, or the home video of Elian saying he didn’t
want to go back to Cuba, which was released on

My sentiments exactly Bill...

We're being colonized. Anybody who has read history knows what happens
when Christians colonize your land. Pretty soon it's not your land any
more and you are dead or a slave.

"Peace, love and brotherhood," my ass. A more avaricious people have never
stalked the earth. Hitler was a piker next to these guys. Attila was a
flash in the pan. Let Christians on your land and you'll end up on
reservations selling beads to the tourists for a living while slaves chop
cotton on what used to be your yard.

And the supreme irony is that they commit their depredations in the name
of a man who was arrested and executed for a piece of street theater that
opposd the economic corruption of imperialist Roman puppets. "Love thy
neighbor," he said. His followers held all things in common. (Acts: 2:44)
The first Christian martyr ran a soup kitchen for the poor. Yet today the
poor of the world are not given succor, but sweatshops. Christianity was
adroitly turned by Constantine from the religion of slaves into the
religion of masters, the belief system that gave the world the Crusades,
the Inquisition, the genocide of the New World and the enslavement of
west Africa.

If Jesus was alive today he would puke.

[CTRL] Internet censorship threatens free press -report

2000-04-27 Thread DIG alfred webre

From NewsHawk:
WIRE:04/26/2000 18:14:00 ET
Internet censorship threatens free press
-report

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Censorship of the Internet by governments is
spreading and may become a threat to traditional media liberty, a report
on press freedom said on Wednesday.

"The explosion of news and information on the World Wide Web is tempting
governments,
developed and developing, politically free and not free, to consider
restricting content on the Internet," said the report conducted by human
rights group Freedom House.

The group's 22nd annual survey of press freedom, entitled "Censor Dot
Gov: The Internet and Press Freedom 2000," said governments may use
several methods to restrict information on the Internet, including:

- Devising Internet-explicit licensing and regulation;

- Applying existing restrictive print and broadcast laws to the Web;

- Filtering Internet content through control of the servers or using
government servers to censor incoming news and information;

- Censoring electronic content deemed unacceptable after dissemination.

"The independence of the Internet becomes the newest test of a
government's will to encourage and sustain a free press," said survey
coordinator Leonard Sussman in an essay accompanying the 36-page report.

The report said some countries restrict Internet access "on the pretext
of protecting the public from subversive ideas or violation of national
security."

In some parts of Asia, for example, the stated goal of protecting
traditional "Asian values" is being used as the pretext to control
Internet information and access.

In the Middle East Internet censorship is being promoted under the
banner of protecting morality, the report said.

"Not only countries with records of not free or partly free news media
contemplate controlling the Internet. In 1996, the Clinton
administration tried to block pornography on the Internet with the
Communications Decency Act, but the law was shot down by the Supreme
Court," the report said.

Citing a report by Reporters Sans Frontieres, it listed Azerbaijan,
Belarus, Burma, China, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Libya,
North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan,
Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam as countries that totally
or mostly control Internet access.

The annual survey, released ahead of World Press Freedom Day on May 3,
said 63 percent of the world's countries restrict print and electronic
journalists and 80 percent of the world's people live in countries with
a less than free press.

Globally, only 69 countries have a free press, where the flow of
information is unrestricted, 51 have a partly free news media and 66
countries have government control over print and broadcast systems.

[CTRL] Russia; Directory of Public Internet Resources

2000-04-27 Thread DIG alfred webre

From EcoNews, St Petersburg, Russia - ENWL.ru:

 Subject: NGO.RU Announcement

The Strategy Foundation is happy to announce the new Directory of
 Public Internet Resources NGO.RU (http://www.ngo.ru/).

The public sector in Russia had increased greatly the number of its
Internet sites. So, it was necessary to create an easy and convenient
navigation tool, the tool for advertising and promoting the Internet
resources. Such a tool can integrate efforts, aimed at creating the
positive image of the non-profit sector in the society. The directory
was created as a response to this necessity.

The directory is collecting links to all kinds of Russian public
Internet resources: sites of nonprofit organizations and public
associations, resource and support centers, grantmaking foundations,
media and informational agencies, conferences, public actions and
campaigns, databases, electronic libraries, mail lists, content
projects, distant learning systems. The links have brief annotations.

The directory is open and everybody can suggest a resource to be
 included in it.

You are welcome to see that it is true.

(Incidentally, I’m not Reno’s physical
characteristics, which she cannot help anymore than the rest of it can;
many women have the same basic features WITHOUT giving off the robotic,
dead-eyed, soulless, evil, menacing aura of “Alice the Goon”; someone
like Reno only sinks to that depth through years and years of
deliberating choosing to walk down the path of evil.

Certainly, I’m not suggesting that there is even time
for the heads of the five networks to confer by phone, or through
intermediaries, regarding whether to release such items as the photo of
the gun in Elian’s face, or the home video of Elian saying he didn’t
want to go back to Cuba, which was released on Spanish TV

FUZZY ANSWERS / A SPECIAL REPORT

The New, Flexible Math Meets Parental Rebellion

By ANEMONA HARTOCOLLIS

Three years ago, one of New York City's most adventurous school districts
set out to tackle a nagging problem: the math phobia that afflicts many
students, and the disparity between the test scores of white
middle-class students and their poorer black and Hispanic counterparts.

The district, which stretches from the Upper East Side to Chinatown,
embraced a new "constructivist" curriculum without textbooks. This
approach preaches that it is more important for children to construct
their own solutions to mathematical problems than to learn the standard
rules -- from multiplication tables to the value of pi -- handed down
through the centuries.

Long ranked near the top of the city in mathematics, the district has
held its place, although there is still a disparity in test scores
between the poorest schools and the more affluent ones. But the new
curriculum has enraged many parents who find that their children cannot
multiply easily or understand basic algebra.

One parent, Anna Huang, said her son, Mack, a fourth grader, "felt a
lack of clarity" when his teacher insisted that he estimate answers,
rather than compute them precisely. Another parent, Anne Cattaneo
Santore, said she was troubled because her son, William, a second grader
at P.S. 124 in Chinatown, spent months counting with coins and solving
equations using "friendly numbers," for instance, converting 71 + 19
into the easier 70 + 20.

"Those strategies don't work when you get to larger numbers," Ms.
Santore said, "and they have been doing those strategies all year."

Ms. Huang and Ms. Santore have joined other parents, mathematicians and
many teachers in a rebellion that has shaken education from New York
City to Plano, Tex., and Lincoln, Mass. As school districts from
affluent enclaves in Greenwich Village to poor minority neighborhoods
like East New York have embraced constructivist math, parents have
formed e-mail networks and turned out in force at school meetings to
protest what they say is "fuzzy math" and the systematic "dumbing down"
of mathematics teaching.

"Parents are worried," said Elizabeth Carson, an actress, the mother of
a seventh grader and a leader of the protest movement in New York City.
"They're scared that their kids are not going to be competitive. The
math is not in their bones.'

The new math has at its core a passionate belief shared by tens of
thousands of teachers around the country that they can reach more
children, especially low-achieving minority students, by dropping
standard rules in favor of exercises that allow students to discover the
principles of math on their own. Constructivist programs are being tried
in more than half of New York City's 1,145 schools, Board of Education
officials said.

Educators who support the new math say that old-fashioned teaching
through memorization and rules produced generations of people who hated
math and never deeply understood it. Indeed, the manifesto of
constructivist mathematicians, the 1989 standards of the National
Council of Teachers of Mathematics, urges teachers not to demand too
much accuracy too early. Math should be "flexible," the standards say,
and "reasonable" answers should be valued over a single right answer.

The constructivist movement has led to the widespread rejection of
textbooks, in favor of exercises using blocks, beans and other
materials. One popular program, MathLand, suggests that students count a
million grains of birdseed to get a feeling for the size of a million.
Another, Everyday Mathematics, teaches children an ancient Egyptian
method of multiplication.

It also suggests that fourth graders measure angles with bent straws
instead of protractors. Connected Mathematics, a popular middle-school
program used widely in New York, teaches sixth graders to add fractions
by folding paper strips into segments representing halves or fourths or
thirds, instead of by converting to common denominators.

Lucy West, the director of mathematics at Manhattan's District 2, where
the new math has been most aggressively adopted, said that old-fashioned
math had been oversold. "There is a misconception that in the good old
days everybody could add and subtract, multiply and divide really easily
and efficiently," she said.

But professional mathematicians say the activists have set up a false
dichotomy between conceptual understanding and basic skills. Parents
chafing at constructivist math tell stories of their children coming
home confused and dispirited by lessons in which getting the right
answer to problems is devalued in favor of strategies that are often
primitive, cumbersome and indirect. Used by inexperienced teachers who
are weak in math, they say, the curriculum can be murky.

And tutoring services say that they are seeing an epidemic of children
coming to them for basic math instruction.

From a denizen of Silicon Valley:

I think the "New, Flexible Math" is misunderstood. It's not an
answer to how to give "disadvantaged" students a "deep understanding"
of mathematics. A very small fraction of our total student
population will ever have such no matter what we do. Rather, this
new movement is advocating a math curriculum that can be "taught" by
a teacher with no math skills his/herself without the embarrassment
of exposure.

The New Economy is causing the "IQ Premium" to soar. Whenever I meet
a teacher with more than 1300 SAT points, I drag him/her off to one
of my startups. Meanwhile, I scratch my head trying to figure out
how my now-14-month-old son is going to get an education with all my
peers in high tech also working to denude America's schools of anyone
with an IQ in the triple digits.

EXCERPTS FROM VARIOUS CALIFORNIA STATE ASSESSMENT EXAMS OVER THE YEARS:

In 1960 ("archaic education"): A logger sells a truckload of lumber
for $100. His cost of production is four fifths the price. What is
his profit?

In 1970 ("traditional math"): A logger sells a truckload of lumber
for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price; in other words
$80. What is his profit?

In 1970 ("new math"): A logger exchanges set L of lumber for set M
of money. The cardinality of set M is 100 and each element is worth
$1. Make 100 dots representing the elements of set M. The set C of
costs contains 20 fewer points than set M. Represent set C as a
subset of set M, and answer the following question: What is the
cardinality of the set P of profits?

1980's. ("Basic skills" CTBS tests): A logger sells a truckload of
wood for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20.
Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

In 1990 ("Outcome-based" CLAS tests): By cutting down beautiful
forest trees, a logger makes $20. What do you think of this way of
making a living? Topic for group discussion: How did the forest
birds and squirrels feel?

In 2000: ("New, Flexible Math"): Keep bending them straws and don't
ask no questions.

[CTRL] The Anointed

2000-04-27 Thread J Taylor

   Reviewed

   by Ken Von Kohorn

Liberal Zealots and their plan for America

The liberal elite - despite the obvious and pervasive

failures of their philosophy - have consolidated influential

positions in America. Ensconced in schools and universities,

in the American Bar Association, throughout state and

federal government bureaucracies and in the Mainstream

Media, these self anointed arbiters of social rectitude

blithely ignore mounds of evidence that prove their ideas

bankrupt - and yet they retain credibility and professional

esteem despite consistently errant forecasts, deficient

  reasoning and often insufferable arrogance.

Tom Sowell's latest book, a nine chapter bill of indictment,

catalogues the liberal elites' long list of dubious

achievements - from wasted welfare money to environmental

fraud to regulatory mischief to reckless constitutional

  revisionism.

The influence of the "Anointed," Sowell claims, derives from

their lack of accountability, made possible by a pervasive

gullibility in the public and in the mainstream media.

According to Sowell, here's how the Anointed work their

  destructive "magic":

  * The Anointed identify a "Crisis" - i.e., some aspect of

  American life that is imperfect.

  * They then offer a "Solution" to the "Crisis" which

requires some form of social engineering. But as Sowell

points out, in the real world there are no perfect

"solutions" but only trade-offs among different approaches -

with each trade-off possessing pluses and minuses.

  * Skeptics examine the proffered "Solution" and predict that

an array of new problems will be created. Their analysis is

  immediately dismissed by the Anointed.

  * Over time the results of the new policy manifest

themselves. Inevitably, the poor outcomes anticipated by the

skeptics do in fact take place.

  * The Anointed won't admit to the failure of their

"Solution," claiming that the critics' complaints are

"simplistic" and "insensitive," or that yet more time and/or

  more expenditures are needed.

Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" program provides a vivid

example of how this process takes place. Even though

Sowell's research shows that poverty rates were declining

into the 1960's, the Anointed identified poverty as a

"Crisis" in 1964 and designed a "Solution" - government

"investment" in the poor. By giving the poor money, it was

argued, the less well off would be able to get a better

education and permanently lift themselves out of poverty.

At the time, skeptics said that government handouts would

create dependency instead of independence, but the Anointed

  proceeded with their plans anyway.

Today, after trillions of dollars of social spending

poverty, illegitimacy and inner city turmoil abound as never

before. Yet typically, the Anointed refuse to acknowledge

their failures. Accountability has never been the strong

point of the Anointed, because in reality their social

"conscience" represents a religion - a religion which admits

of no error, which the rest of us must honor with our tithes

in the form of ever rising taxes, and to which the Anointed

have conveniently appointed themselves the High Priests.

Sowell sees today's Anointed as representing a grave threat

to America. As universities and schools indoctrinate a

new generation of zealous liberals - the future Anointed - a

critical mass might be achieved which could administer their

destructive elixir on American society ad infinitum.

What about the election of 1994 and the rise of the New

Media - talk radio, the Internet, C-Span and the like? Is

it too late to stop the Anointed? Ever the optimist, I

believe that it is not; but thus far, as Sowell points out

(paraphrasing Winston Churchill): "Seldom have so few cost

  so much to so many."

Of course this is in the LEE site but have a look at the
'Laser camera' hot link on the left right hand side. It is a
*.ram movie but I took the authors notes and wrote them down
for all you Keelyneters to go research as this is known
 technology the author states.

http://ucsofa.com/products.htm

Is the Link to the website.

Authors words at end of movie: As much as I can interpret
 with his heavy accent...

"Reveal how the camera works. There are two types of lasers.
One laser has a constant frequency which is polarized with
the other laser which is pulsating radiation. This laser is
also calibrated to function on another frequency.

What we do is to shoot a sample at the atoms with the laser
and this causes the molecules to move sidewards. Thereby the
laser penetrates the matter it is directed towards. For this
 internal.

In addition, we have a simulated camera beam trying very
close to gamma radiation, which contributes to making the
 pictures very clear.

It has gradually become a well known technology that when you
shoot a sample of atoms with a laser and cause the molecules
to move sidewards, you can run the laser beam through matter
which normally never can be done.

Unfortunately we can not reveal any more about our
 technology."

The camera he states will be sold commercially first for
mining where the laser is too powerful for medical uses.
 He stated this also.

Australia and U.S. he indicated would be first to have rights
to his system. He demonstrated a stage I model unit which
penetrated rock upto 40cm, also a medical system showing
beating heart, bones in the foot, and someone walking behind
a wall which I think was concrete. Simply amazing.

This technology will put X-Rays out of business, ultrasound
imaging, and revolutionize the medical establishment.
This technology also has GRANDIOSE applications such as
communications, weapon inspection at airports, police or
military use in seeing behind walls.

There is NO hiding with this. Now.. also poking around in
the government research area.. in RD.. the is hush hush
discussion about submarine communications below sea level.
Turns out that the military just might know about this
technology but only in one aspect.

Discussions reveal that they 'do' have methods to communicate
with subs, maybe experimental, but is not VLF, ELF, or higher
frequency. I then asked about molecular type communications
that can 'see' between the space of water molecules (which
there is a lot of space) and the answer was silent.

I then stated that I knew of certain frequencies that can
penetrate the water and wondered if laser could be designed
to produce this frequency. I then got a semi answer back...
as in yes they have green lasers!!

So... maybe that is a key???

[CTRL] Press release from MGA Films on FLIR developments. (fwd)

2000-04-27 Thread MICHAEL SPITZER

MGA FILMS INC.

PRESS RELEASE 24 March 2000

While we, at MGA find recent press reports on the subject of
gunfire at the back of Mt. Carmel on 4-19-93 interesting, we do
no not consider these remarks—from anonymous sources—to be
conclusive.

We stand by our experts’ statements that the majority of
evidence suggests there were indeed gunfire and other flash
anomalies on the 4-19-93 FBI video tape.

We are gratified that the 3-19-00 Fort Hood test confirms
what we have maintained all along: the F.L.I.R. equipment used at
Mt. Carmel could—and in our experts’ opinions did—pick up
what appears to be gunfire and other anomalies.

We have never said that all flash anomalies on the F.L.I.R.
are gunfire; there are several others types of flashes that are
not projectile/small arms gunfire. These include, but are not
limited to, the "dog-run" window double flash and the detonations
in the court yard and a flash from insulation near the SW corner
before the fire started.

Further, we have noted several concerns about the test
protocol to the Special Council’s office and the Davidian
Attorneys prior to the testing. These concerns included the
temperature variances between the two test days, and the lack of
tests conducted with the anti-F.L.I.R. clothing that may have
been worn by government agents on the day of the fire.

MGA in cooperation with a number of experts in fields of
thermal imaging and visible light imaging are examining
additional material regarding the issue of agents being seen or
not seen on April 19,1993. After we have had an opportunity to
review the tapes and data from the 3-19-00 tests at Fort Hood, we
will have more to say on these subjects.

[CTRL] 10 days in May; a test about terrorists (fwd)

2000-04-27 Thread MICHAEL SPITZER

  WASHINGTON HEADLINES

10 days in May; a test about terrorists

  By LISA HOFFMAN
  Scripps Howard News Service
  April 24, 2000

WASHINGTON - In an unprecedented exercise next month, a
phalanx of the U.S. government's top officials will engage
in a massive field test of the nation's preparedness to
respond to a terrorist attack within its borders.

Sometime during 10 still-secret days in May, seven
Cabinet leaders will receive a chilling, though mock, alert
that unknown terrorists have unleashed chemical or
biological weapons simultaneously on two cities _ Denver
  and Portsmouth, N.H.

Attorney General Janet Reno; the secretaries of defense,
energy, transportation, agriculture, and health and human
services; and the head of the Environmental Protection
Agency will have to drop whatever they are doing and
preside over the federal government's emergency
response to such a dreaded mass attack.

Called "Operation TopOff" _ for "top officials" _ the field
exercise will involve thousands of participants including
the governors of the two states, the National Guard and
hundreds of state and local emergency and medical
personnel. The directors of the FBI and the Federal
Emergency Management Agency also will play a lead role.

A companion drill, possibly involving a pretend attack
involving nuclear weapons, will occur in the Washington,
  D.C., area.

Until the mock weapons of mass destruction attacks are
announced, only a handful of organizers will know the
nature and dimensions of the planned assault. The type of
deadly agent used, where it is released, how many people
are felled, who the perpetrators are _ all will remain
unknown until the exercise is launched sometime between
  May 7 to May 29.

"The players know very, very little," Justice Department
  spokesman Doug Johnson said.

Colorado Gov. Bill Owens said he is completely in the
dark. "It could be a scenario of anything from Denver's
water supplies being poisoned to an airborne particulate
being released," Owens said. "We are literally waiting hour
  by hour for the test."

Mindful that real terrorists _ knowing that the
government's attention will be focused elsewhere _ might
view this as a fine time to stage an actual attack, the
  agencies are taking special precautions.

"We're aware that could occur and we have taken
  appropriate measures," Johnson said.

Among the elements to be evaluated in the mock disaster
are the time it takes to identify the agent, ability to limit
its spread, efforts to treat the wounded without causing
further contamination, search for the terrorists involved,
and coordinate the dozens of agencies involved.

For several years, the federal government has been
training state and local police, firefighters, hospital
personnel and others in managing the aftermath of a
  deadly terrorist incident.

Denver and Portsmouth were chosen as sites of the mock
attack because they represent a range of size and
preparation. Denver has undergone the training while
Portsmouth has not. Officials in each city also were eager
to participate in the May drill.

Planning for the drill, which was ordered by Congress,
began about a year ago. It is expected to cost no more
than $3.5 million, the amount Capitol Hill authorized to
  cover the expenses involved.

Federal and state officials intend to begin publicizing the
upcoming fake attack this week so citizens will not be
blindsided or panicked by the exercise.

"We don't want to scare the public," FEMA spokesman
  Mark Wilson said.

[CTRL] Flashes Not Gunfire, Waco Judge Says (fwd)

2000-04-27 Thread MICHAEL SPITZER

Flashes Not Gunfire, Waco Judge Says
NewsMax.com
Monday, April 24, 2000

Those suspicious glints that showed up on the infrared videotape
taken at Waco were not gunfire, a preliminary review shows
according to U.S. District Court Judge Walter Smith.

Speaking at a pretrial hearing yesterday, Smith said that experts
retained by the court had made an initial determination that the
review of the infrared videotape caught about 57 ``thermal
events,'' - flashes of light that signify heat. There ``were no
muzzle blasts either from Branch Davidians or government
agents,'' Judge Smith told attorneys, adding, however, that he
does not consider the report to be incontrovertible evidence.

Reacting to the disclosure, Michael Caddell, lead attorney for
the Branch Davidians, said ``You get good news. You get bad news.
... This is not going to result in a dismissal of the case.''

Caddell added that there was a suspicious pattern'' in the audio
portion of the videotape. Several portions of the tape are
missing audio, he said, and on one section of the tape someone is
heard asking that the audio be turned off.

Preliminary results from a recent court-ordered simulation of the
siege staged at Ft. Hood, Texas showed that flashes captured by
the original infrared videotape were most likely sunlight
reflecting off bits of broken glass and other reflective debris -
not government gunfire as Cadell's clients claim. The court
appointed experts are expected to submit their analysis of that
simulation to the court by May 8.

Yet to be acted on by the court is a motion filed by the
plaintiffs' attorneys accusing the government of:

-Failing to return a roll of film confiscated from the Texas
Rangers that showed bodies and weapons inside a concrete bunker.
``The absence of these photographs makes it very difficult, if
not impossible, to determine if any of these persons were shot
outside of that room and moved into it prior to or after the
fire,'' the plaintiff's motion said.

-Attempting to pass off as originals audio recordings made from
listening devices planted inside the compound during the siege.
The plaintiffs say an analysis indicates that the tapes are
copies, not originals. The tapes - which the government says
prove that it was the Davidians who spread fuel and started the
fire - also show signs of being recorded with multiple recorders,
an expert retained by the plaintiffs concluded.

The government says the allegations are baseless, insisting that
the plaintiffs' accusations relied on incomplete, illogical or
scientifically invalid analyses.

However, the government has admitted that it is missing 30
original negatives from the first of at least seven rolls of film
shot by an FBI photographer who circled 1,000 feet above the
complex in a surveillance aircraft, although they claim they have
prints of the missing negatives along with the original contact
sheet of the negatives.

Re: [CTRL] Correct - ing Easter

2000-04-27 Thread Alamaine

I'll stick with Matt 6:1 and beyond.

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by
them ... do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the
synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men ... And when you pray, do
not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues
and on the street corners to be seen by men ... "

I've omitted a little here and there but there's enough above to get your
bearings. Oh, this is 'red lettre' stuff, too, THE words. When you read these
parts and look at the state of organised religion, Xtianity in particular, it
seems a little out of sync.

I would imagine that the Nazarene was a little more original in his delivery,
not having a bound book to memorise nor to rely upon for rote learning. And,
so the faithful are like oxen bound to the waterwell ... around and around they
go, going somewhere but over and over the same well-trodden path ... and verily
I say unto you, throw off your harness and seek new paths to new horizons (but
don't forget the histories).

Re: [CTRL] Fw: Dumbed down lost generation #1

2000-04-27 Thread Alamaine

Educators who support the new math say that old-fashioned teaching
through memorization and rules produced generations of people who hated
math and never deeply understood it.

It should go without saying that not all people will like (or 'get') all
subjects and excel at them. The problem I see with not "teaching through
memorisation and rules" is THIS can apply to anything, reading, (w)riting, or
'rithmetic. Just recall how numb and dumb some are about geography ... unless
someone can put the nation crazy quilt together as a cohesive and systematical
whole , France could be next to Zimbabwe which could be next to Fiji. Another
example of education analogous to the first two of the three pigs's houses; the
third pig's house had a good foundation and he went to market with the
expecttion he'd have something to return to time and again.

I can also see this fluidity on rules with regard to reading and writing. As
long as it makes sense to the kid, who cares who else can read his or her
writing. As far as math is concerned, it's the sense of application that makes
it boring ... if the kids can see no use for it, it won't be important.

as usual, the attached file failed to open for me, even after using
three different browsers, on two separate occasions:

Opera 3.62 (which I usually use) had a pop-up stating: The type of
file you just tried to open is unknown to Opera. Choose a program to
show the file; save the file or cancel the transfer.
Type: message/rfc822

Netscape Communicator 4.7 (which I use for e-mail) pretends to
transfer the data and load the page, but the attachments never
actually load. If I try to open it in a separate window, I get a blank
page.

Explorer 5.0 has a pop-up stating "Internet Explorer cannot open the
Internet site mhtml:http://home.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/...
=messsage/rfc822 Could not complete the operation due to error
800c0011."

This is typical of what happens. Any ideas what I might try? Or have
any of you ever had similar problems opening attachments at L-Soft?

==

NOTE: Trying one last time before sending this message, I was able
to open the attachment with the Opera browser (as it turns out, the
solution was staring me in the face all along), but still no luck with
Navigator or Explorer. Perhaps I'm just a 'lone nut' with his newbie
head up his computer illiterate ass. Anyone else out there having
trouble opening the above attachment with Netscape or Explorer?

It's kinda like the Springer - Raphael - Lake - Et Al of the religious sort. I
once saw the Copelands on TV and they assured their audience (in person and out
in TV land) that they were supposed to have lots of money, just like telling
the fish they're supposed to have lots of worms or minnows or whatever ... buy
the book by Bakker (Jim, of PTL fame and fortune and prison and poverty}), *I

finally got to read the good book while having nothing esle to do for a few

[CTRL] There is no Free TV (fwd)

Subject: There is no Free TV

On NPR's Morning Edition last week, Nina Tottenberg said that if
the Supreme Court supports Congress, it is in effect the end of
the National

Public Radio (NPR), NEA and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).
PBS, NPR and the arts are facing major cutbacks in funding. In
spite of the efforts of each station to reduce spending costs and
streamline their services, some government officials believe that
the funding currently going to these programs is too large a
portion of funding for something which is seen as not worthwile.

Currently, taxes from the general public for PBS equal $1.12 per
person per year, and the National Endowment for the Arts equals
$0.64 per year.

A January 1995 CNN/USA TODAY/ Gallup Poll indicated that 76% of
Americans wish to keep funding for PBS, third only to national
defense and law enforcement as the most valuable programs for
federal funding. The Senate and House appropriations committees
each have 13 subcommittees with jurisdiction over many programs
and agencies. Each subcommittee passes its own appropriation
bill. The goal each year is to

have each bill signed by the beginning of the fiscal year, which
is October 01. The only way that our representatives can be
aware of the base of support for PBS and funding for these types
of programs is by making our voices heard. Please add your name
to this list and forward it to friends who believe in what this
stands for.

This list will be forwarded to the President of the United States
and the Vice President of the United States. This petition is
being passed around the Internet. Please add your name to it so
that afunding can be

maintained for the NEA, NPR and PBS.

HOW TO SIGN AND FORWARD; IT'S EASY: Please keep this petition
rolling forward. Do not reply to me. Please sign and forward to
others to sign. If you prefer not to sign, please send to the
e-mail address indicated below. DON'T WORRY ABOUT DUPLICATES.
This is being forwarded to several

people at once to add their names to the peittion. It won't
matter if many people receive the same list as the names are
being managed. This is for anyone who thinks NPR/PBS is a
worthwhile expenditure of $1.12/year of their taxes.

A petition follows. If you sign, please forward on to others. If
not, please don't kill it--send it to the e mail address listed
here:

   or
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

NOTE: If you happen to be the 150th, 200th, 250th, etac., signer
of this petition please forward a copy to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] This way we can
keep track of the lists and organize them. Forward this to
everyone you know and help us to keep these programs alive.
THANK YOU!

NOTE: It is preferable that you SELECT (highlight) the entirety
of this letter and then COPY it into a new outgoing message,
rather than simply forwarding it. In your new outgoing message,
add your name to the bottom of the list and then send it on. Or
if option is available, do a SEND AGAIN.

But let's take a look at the product of Cuba, and I'm not talking about sugar
or cigars. Castro or not, they seem to be raising some pretty good kids.
Elian is from a broken home, but the kid has withstood some pretty nasty
situations, and he is still pretty much what most of us would like our
children to be (except for that jumping on the furniture thing). He is not
fat, snotty, depressed or fixated. Somebody in Cuba is doing things right.

Perhaps because his father spanks him when necessary, which some of the anti-
Castro fanatics feel is tantamount to child abuse and warrants separating
Elian from his father...

But I say we could do with some more spankings, then perhaps we wouldn't have
our own kids disrepecting their elders, or being subjected to a smorgasbord of
prescribed psychoactive drugs...

[CTRL] Fw: Elian's Rescuer Enjoys the Spotlight

2000-04-27 Thread Ynr Chyldz Wyld

I will comment on this article in another post

June

Elian's rescuer enjoys the spotlight

A fateful fishing trip upends Dalrymple's life

 By Michael Leahy
 WASHINGTON POST

WASHINGTON, April 27 - Three nights after a federal agent found him trying
to hide in a cramped closet with Elian Gonzalez in his arms, Donato
Dalrymple sits in his Georgetown hotel room at midnight, ready to talk for
hours, his body clock by now like a Vegas lounge singer's.

Elian may be gone, but Donato Dalrymple, aka The Fisherman, is in demand.

OLIVER NORTH rushed up to him a few hours ago to call him a hero. Some CNBC
lovelies sought his attentions and autograph. And just five minutes ago, in
a cab coming back from yet another television interview, he heard Howard
Stern say his name on the radio. "Howard Stern! Howard Stern!" he is
exulting. "It was just too cool," says The Fisherman.

Elian may be gone, but Donato Dalrymple, aka The Fisherman, is in demand.

"Did you know Elian liked to lick my face?" he asks, apropos of nothing.

The thought hangs there while the phone in his room rings and rings. He
ignores it. He wants to talk about Elian licking him, for no moment is more
revealing about what Elian Gonzalez has meant to the life of Donato
Dalrymple, or about how a child's tragedy can become a middle-aged man's
deliverance.

By then, five weeks after he helped pluck Elian out of the Atlantic on
Thanksgiving Day, Dalrymple had found what he'd always wanted, and what had
always eluded him. He'd walk through the Miami home of Elian's relatives
and strangers would reach out to hug him, reverentially calling him The
Fisherman, which, the more they said it, came to have a saintly quality.

For many people contemptuous of both the relatives and federal officials,
Dalrymple seemed the one pure, likable character in this custody tug-of-war.
He'd stroll outside, and TV reporters would scream for interviews. Hordes
of Cubans and gringos sought his autograph.

 Fisherman. Fisherman. Pescador. Pescador.

The moniker made him sound like a character born of Hemingway, and he looked
and sounded the part: broad-shouldered, barrel-chested, salt of the earth,
with tattoos covering his arms and a passionate bark to his speech.

But, in fact, he is no fisherman; he cleans houses for a living.
Thanksgiving Day was the first time The Cleaner had ever gone fishing. He
didn't even want to fish, he admits, but agreed to drive the boat for his
cousin, content just to be out on the water, listening to oldies on the
radio. He left it to his cousin to bait the hooks. "My cousin was getting
on me," he grouses. "He always does.

The phone rings and Dalrymple, 40, picks it up. Someone tells him he'll be
on "Geraldo" the next day.

"Sure, uh-huh. Great." He hangs up, stands and does a torso bend or two.
An avid bodybuilder until the rescue of Elian turned his interests
elsewhere, he bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Jack La Lanne, the
fitness guru. His 5-foot-7 frame is dominated by his coiffed 'do, which
stands straight up, electrified, like Lyle Lovett's.

He has lost his train of thought, now asking whether his visitor wants to
see how the Border Patrol agent aimed the gun at his head. "Well, actually
it wasn't at my head," he says, grinning, shrugging. "It was right here."
He points to a spot below his left shoulder.

He remembers where he was going with this. "Let me tell you the moment when
I knew my life had changed," he says, thinking back to an evening shortly
after New Year's in the Gonzalez home in Little Havana. He had been lying
alongside Elian on the little boy's bed, in the room Elian shared with his
cousin Marisleysis, when the big truth struck him: There were few things
worse, The Fisherman thought, than living 40 years on this planet and never
feeling important. He had been eking out a living and a measure of
contentment from mopping and vacuuming other people's houses, but
contentment is what you settle for in a life unnoticed, when you walk the
streets and feel invisible.

 No longer.

He and the boy were on the bed watching "The Lion King," the Disney feature
- beloved by Elian - about a brave young lion whose dad had perished. Elian
enjoyed imitating the lions licking the cheeks of everybody they liked.
Elian put his tongue on Dalrymple's cheek and laughed.

 Lick, lick, lick.

Then he placed his head on Dalrymple's big chest. The two of them lay
motionless for a while before Elian put his tiny index finger in the man's
closed palm.

"You know, I've never felt important in my life," Dalrymple says, his eyes
dampening at the memory. "But I felt like the most important man in the
world that night You know, life can be hard. But what the kid went
through, and the lives he changed being with him, well, it's hard to
explain. He makes people feel important and loved and powerful."

 Dalrymple walks over

First observation: is the characterisation of 'child abuser' as put on Papa
Gonzalez another translation for 'disciplinarian'; 'abused' because Kid
Gonzalez didn't get the Commando Rangers in their frilly dresses for his
 birthday?

I think because it's been established that Juan Miguel hasn't been adverse to
laying a firm palm on little Elian's backside on occasion when it's warranted

Certain liberal types who believe all kids should be mollycoddled lable any form
of physical discipline, including spanking, as 'child abuse'.

But strangely, children from cultures where parents practice strict discipline,
including spanking, tend to be better behaved, happier, and psychologically more
stable than children who are raised in a permissive atmosphere.

"Disputed theory used in custody cases Children often victims in Parental
Alienation Syndrome strategy
April 23, 2000

By Gina Keating
Staff Writer

In the Los Angeles County family court system, the vast majority of custody
cases are resolved peacefully, with parents deciding with little rancor how
their kids can be shared between them.

But in the contested cases that go to court -- about 40 percent -- kids and
parents are often buffeted by arbitrary and unfair laws.

A discredited psychological theory known as Parental Alienation Syndrome
plays a key role in this morass. The Columbia University psychiatrist who
claims to have documented the syndrome says its victims, usually children,
are prompted to turn against one parent by the other"

[CTRL] AMERICAN PIE ON WALL STREET

2000-04-27 Thread [to:] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

BEFORE YOU READ THE FOLLOWING, YOU SHOULD FIRST
SING "AMERICAN PIE" BY DON McLEAN.
(Sing out loud)

"Bye bye miss american pie
drove my chevy to the levee
but the levee was dry
them good ol boys
were drinkin whiskey and rye
singin this will be the day that I die
this will be the day that I die."

Did you sing it out loud?
You should to get the full effect.

Sing this to "American Pie."

Humble Pie

 A long, long week ago
 I can still remember how
the market used to make me smile
What I'd do when I had the chance
Is get myself a cash advance
And add another tech stock to the pile

But Alan Greenspan made me shiver
With every speech that he delivered
Bad news on the rate front
Still I'd take one more punt
 I can't remember if I cried
When I heard about the CPI
I lost my fortune and my pride
 The day the NASDAQ died

So bye-bye to my piece of the pie
 I'm gettin' margin calls
 Cause my cash account's dry
It's just two weeks from a new all-time high
And now we're right back where we were in July
We're right back where we were in July

Did you buy stocks you never heard of?
 QCOM at 150 or above?

'Cos George Gilder told you so
Now do you believe in Home Depot?

 Can Wal-Mart save your portfolio?
And can you teach me what's a P/E ratio?
Well, I know that you were leveraged too
So you can't just take a long-term view

 Your broker shut you down
No more margin could be found

I never worried on the whole way up
Buying dot coms from the back of a pickup truck
But Friday I ran out of luck
It was the day the NSDAQ died

 I started singin'
Bye-bye to my piece of the pie
I'm gettin' margin calls
   Cause my cash account's dry
It's just two weeks from a new all-time high
And now we're right back where we were in July
Yeah we're right back where we were in Ju-li.

April 22, 2000 NA (Network America) e-wire

The End of America?

By chance, I had to wake up shortly before 6:30 AM to go to the store to
get milk and bread for my kids.

Because of this, I saw the first pictures of jack-booted, fascist,
Communist thugs raiding the Gonzales home in Miami, Florida to snatch
Elian on behalf of New World Order Government Commissars Castro,
Clinton, Reno et al.

These storm troopers of world dictatorship battered down the door with a
ram, entered the Gonzales home with automatic weapons drawn, pointing
the barrel of the gun within a foot of Elian Gonzales’s head, spraying
the home and the small crowd outside with pepper gas and tear gas,
sending at least one woman in the crowd into convulsions.

One of the pictures captured on camera by an Associated Press
photographer shows some anti-American gas-masked storm trooper pointing
a gun one foot away from Elian Gonzales, who was at the time being held
by Donato Dalrymple, the man who rescued Elian off the shark-infested
ocean between Cuba and the USA exactly 5 months ago, where Elian was
floating alone, his mother and the others having slipped into the ocean
in an attempt to escape Castro and get to freedom. This picture further
shows an Elian already having burst into tears, with a look of
surprise/terror on his face – just having been awaken by this
terroristic early morning, Good Saturday raid. Video film then shows
terrorized and crying Elian being spirited out to the government car,
and whisked away in this car driven by a man wearing a black ski-mask to
hide his identity, like an increasing number of the New World Order
Government terror police.

Attorney-thug and Castro-hit-man Greg Craig (Clinton’s impeachment
lawyer – enough said) had issued a letter asking the press NOT to show
any pictures or videos of Elian being snatched. Yes, Thug Craig, we are
well aware how you totalitarians like to operate in the dark. How long
will it be till the powers behind Clinton-Reno are able to prevent such
videos and pictures from reaching the public? – believe me, we’re headed
in that direction, but thank God that the New World Order owners of the
networks don’t dare YET limit their personnel to out and out Bolsheviks
like ABC’s Ted Koppel, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, wife of Fed Chairman Alan
Greenspan. And most of the on-screen anchors at all Big TV networks
spent the last two weeks doing the Ruling Elite’s work by asking almost
exclusively questions like ‘how is Elian going to be reunited with his
father?’ trying to psychologically prepare the American people for the
‘inevitability’ of this brutal government snatch.

I do not live in the America I grew up in -- anymore.

For me, America has turned a corner this morning. The usurpers of the
American Government, put where they are by a combination of Big Media
psycho-warfare on the American people and computer vote “counts”, this
day have plucked a 6 year old child from the family that cared for him
since his rescue from the ocean, in order to begin his return to
Communism and Castro where a team of psychiatrists, armed with
psychiatric drugs, are waiting to brainwash the poor boy in a secluded
government building that has been specifically prepared for Elian’s
return to Cuba – as has been announced by Castro’s own spokesman

No doubt at this moment (about 3 hours after the police state raid and
snatch) Elian is heavily sedated, as is the practice of all police state
operations of this kind. Elian and the hostage-Dad Juan Miguel have been
taken to an unknown place.

I think of the line from BraveHeart spoken by the character William
Wallace --- if anyone supports this Clinton/Reno tyrannical, heartless
outrage against Elian today is still calling themselves an American –
then I’m ashamed to call myself one!

A little earlier FOX Cable news showed Marisleysis Gonzales, the
relative who became the boy’s surrogate mother after his rescue from the
ocean, describing the scene as the Clinton/Reno heavily armed occupation
government he-devils broke in, pointing automatic weapons at them and
carrying a black bag to put the boy in. Marisleysis pleaded with the
invaders not to put the boy in the bag. Then, a Clinton/Reno she-devil
screamed, “Give me the #$@%$ boy. Give me the #@#$% boy” (Marisleysis
made clear without saying it that it was the worst

Nobody has been charged in any of this. Why? Why do Cuban-Americans have

As for the what the mother, or someone, did to Elian out there at sea, two

If an American mother took her kid to Iraq and died on the way, what would
America do to get the kid back?

I'll stick with Matt 6:1 and beyond.

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by
them ... do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the
synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men ... And when you pray,
do
not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues
and on the street corners to be seen by men ... "

I've omitted a little here and there but there's enough above to get your
bearings. Oh, this is 'red lettre' stuff, too, THE words. When you read
these
parts and look at the state of organised religion, Xtianity in particular,
it
seems a little out of sync.

I would imagine that the Nazarene was a little more original in his
delivery,
not having a bound book to memorise nor to rely upon for rote learning.
And,
so the faithful are like oxen bound to the waterwell ... around and around
they
go, going somewhere but over and over the same well-trodden path ... and
verily
I say unto you, throw off your harness and seek new paths to new horizons
(but
don't forget the histories).

America for Air Support, which never came and they lost the revolt. They
came to
Amercia for Liberty and Freedom from Communist Oppression. What about the
Innocients butchered by the tens of thousands in Cambodia by the Pol Pot
Regime?
I interviewed many who came here. And even met a few, learned doctors,
teachers
who fled the indoctorinated AK47 armed teenage Communists who murdered all
the
people of any education or social rank in the fields. And some of those
people saw some of our American P.O.W.'s from the Viet Nam War, who they
said worked as
"Slave Labor" and were starving slowly, moved around alot too. Some of my
old
Cuban American Friends escaped Cuba for the same reason - to leave for
Freedom. Or do you forget that our Freedom was paid for by the blood of the
Patriots? Bist do Verstan Ze Nessie? Smile, your on "Comrad Camera".

Re: [CTRL] Christian Duty Under Corrupt Government

2000-04-27 Thread Tara

I'd love to talk about my opinion of you, but that's not allowed to the
depths I would feel it necessary to go. I feel no need to rebutt your
opinion of Christianity. The Bible tells us that people like you will attack
us. I don't want to be your friend, and I definitely don't want to waste my
breath on your opinions, which are obviously biased by your own beliefs. But
do I attack whatever religious beliefs you may or may not have? Expect
people of any faith to become angry when you attack their faith and their
God. But then you know that don't you? Isn't that your purpose in starting
these "discussions"?

Tara

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to do
nothing.

Opinions vary. But, once again, you're changing the subject. Do you want
to talk about your opinion of me or do you want to rebutt what I said
about Christians? The reason I ask is because I don't really care what
your opinion of me is. I do care that this space here that you are trying
to colonize doesn't suffer the same fate as did the New World, West
Africa, South Asia, Polynesia and everywhere else on earth that Christians
have set their greedy sights.
