What is a control paradigm?

The late Dr. Antony C. Sutton, in his magnum opus, America's Secret
Establishment, showed a very interesting, defining point of reference:

"There is an Establishment history, an official history, which dominates
history textbooks, trade publishing, the media and library shelves. The
official line always assumes that events such as wars, revolutions,
scandals, assassinations, are more or less random unconnected events. By
definition events can NEVER be the result of a conspiracy, they can never
result from premeditated planned group action. An excellent example is the
Kennedy assassination when, within 9 hours of the Dallas tragedy, TV
networks announced the shooting was NOT a conspiracy, regardless of the fact
that a negative proposition can never be proven, and that the investigation
had barely begun."

Dr. Sutton knew so very well how difficult it was to publish via the
'established' guidelines..Foundations and publishers were not
forthcomingAt the Hoover Institution only with the help of Alan Belmont
[FBI] was he able to have his Western Technology and Soviet Economic
Development books verified and published. Even so, these books had to be
published at his own expense.

" Just to ensure the official line dominates, in 1946 the Rockefeller
Foundation allotted $139,000 for an official history of World War Two. This
to avoid a repeat of debunking history books which embarrassed the
Establishment after World War One. The reader will be interested to know
that The Order [Russell Trust Association] had great foresight, back in the
1880's to create both the American Historical Association and the American
Economic Association (most economists were then more historians than
analysts) under their terms, with their people and their objectives. Andrew
Dickson White was a member of The Order and the first President of the
American Historical Association."

A control paradigm is not an obvious 'recognition' pattern, rather a 'hidden
' deliberate device to direct the 'thoughts, intents and actions" of groups
of people, nations, for a 'hidden' purpose, objective, outcome.

Most people go along, to get along, avoiding [what to them would be]
immediate personal repercussions and un-pleasantries. Unless challenged, the
'control' paradigm unilaterally prevails, and unless mitigated by 'public'
opinion is successful in its objectives by default. So that, once the
'control' [paradigm] system is put 'in place,' the 'paradigm' continues to
maintain itself indefinitely unencumbered by 'human' intervention.

The 'control' paradigm is a 'mechanism' that is 'inplace' and unless
'challenged' will prevail, resulting in its predetermined outcome, to
control the thoughts, hearts, minds, attitudes, responses of people,
nations, on this planet. Those that challenge the 'paradigm' will themselves
be challenged [for that is how it is structured], but unless you challenge
the 'paradigm' it will ultimately prevail sucking every last vestige of your
freedom to 'come, go, be, think, and do' as a free people.

"Structured' thinking is therefore dangerous, because it does not allow you
to ponder the cause and effect of the possibilities inherent in adhering to
the 'established' criteria and purported facts.

Dear MoveOn member, You've probably heard about the 'Homeland Security' bill that Bush is trying to rush through Congress during the last hours of the lame duck session. Quite simply, this is an incredibly scary bill. The House passed the bill last week, and now the Senate is being asked to rubber-stamp it TODAY -- on Monday Nov 18th. They've only had a few days to master the complexities of this 500 page bill, which has all kinds of weird riders attached to it -- last minute additions that have nothing to do with security. We're asking everyone to call their Senators first thing Monday morning, before any votes, and demand that this bad bill be stopped.

Ask them to put the brakes on the Homeland Security bill. Ask them to take the time to know what they are actually voting on. Ask them to amend the bill to protect our privacy from the government's new "total information awareness" program (see below). Ask them to defeat the new riders that have nothingto do with security -- for example, protecting companies that move their corporate addresses offshore to avoid taxes. Ask them to protect the rights of federal workers. ...

Senator Tom Daschle, under great pressure to pass this bill, is trying to amend the worst provisions. If the bill is amended it is likely it will be stalled until the next Congressional session, so compatible House legislation can be passed. This will at least give time for the bill to be read and for Congress to come to an informed decision. What's wrong with this legislation? Although couched as a "reorganization," this legislation is fundamentally a direct attack on federal workers' rights to organize. The Bush administration is using the fear of terrorism to essentially break the federal employees' unions. It's a transparent and cynical maneuver, but it's working. In a separate announcement last week, the Bush administration outlined plans to also contract out nearly a million federal jobs -- another way to convert a huge number
of middle class jobs into unprotected, minimum wage jobs, and to reward the Bush administration's corporate benefactors. What you probably haven't heard is that the bill contains provisions that directly attack our civil liberties, giving government immense new powers to invade our privacy. Conservative columnist William Safire highlights these points in a recent New York Times column (http://www.nytimes.com/2002/11/14/opinion/14SAFI.html ) ...Just to top it off, this bill also contains last minute riders. They've even included a provision to ensure that our government
can do business with the companies that avoid paying their fair share of taxes by renting a post office box in Bermuda or another offshore tax haven.

Are 'jihadists' infiltrating U.S. military?
Low-security positions could be used by potential terrorists

A disturbing pattern of infiltration of lower levels of the U.S.
military by would-be Islamist jihad warriors is emerging, cautions
one analyst of military affairs and terrorism.

The Defense Department heavily screens all personnel competing for
high-security positions involving nuclear weapons and military
intelligence. Before applicants are ever allowed inside those small
elite circles, they are subjected to rigorous background and
criminal checks, as well as comprehensive psychological evaluations.

The reason is obvious: Only the fittest of mind, body and soul can
be trusted with such positions of vital importance. The wrong person
in the right place at the wrong time could wreak untold levels of
havoc on an unsuspecting nation and  in terms of nuclear weapons 
the world itself.

But the Pentagon is much less thorough in screening its "average"
soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, troops who are slated for the
much more numerous and mundane positions that comprise most of the
cogs in the world's most powerful military machine  the average
trooper, the logistics and supply personnel, the cooks, clerks and
typists, the fuel handlers, the mechanics and maintenance personnel.

And yet, many of these troops  while not individually significant,
per se  could transform themselves quickly into terrorist assets
simply because they have access to important components of the
United States military, some professionals believe.

"The threat of enemy operatives within our homeland is not a new
challenge to those charged with our security. There exists a long
history of hostile governments seeking to take advantage of our open
society to turn or plant operatives within the American government
and military," writes military analyst and writer Tom Knowlton, for
the Nov. 13 issue of Defense Watch, an Internet- based magazine
published by Soldiers For the Truth.

"For the most part, these operatives are people who had access to
information or technology that would be of value to our enemies
during times of war: diplomats, intelligence agents, key military
personnel, scientists and federal agents," Knowlton says. But in
these times of terrorism, jihadists -- those looking to infiltrate
America and turn U.S. citizens into pawns of terrorist warfare  may
be looking to penetrate lower echelons within the U.S. military.

Writes Knowlton: "On Nov. 5, 2002 Abdul Raheem Al Arshad Ali, a
former Marine and Gulf War veteran, became the third suspected
terrorist associated with the Dar-us-Salaam mosque in Seattle (now
renamed the Dar ul Islam Masjid mosque) to be arrested for alleged
ties to al- Qaida."

Authorities earlier had arrested James Ujaama and Semi Osman, he
notes, on charges connected to the scouting of a ranch in Bly, Ore.,
as a possible terrorist training site in 1999. On an anti-
American website, operator James Ujaama said, "My brother and I will
join those who fight in the cause of Allah." That brother,
authorities learned, is Mustafa Ujaama, who was converted or
recruited to radical jihadist Islam while serving in the U.S.
military.

Meanwhile, Osman was a drilling Construction Mechanic 3rd Class in
the U.S. Naval Reserve at the  time of his arrest. Osman "served in
the U.S. Navy's Supply Support Battalion 1, Company F, a fueling
unit based in Tacoma, Wash., with access to fuel trucks similar to
the type used by al-Qaida in the 1996 bombing of the Khobar Towers
and the 2002 bombing of a synagogue in Tunisia," Knowlton said.

"Such converted fuel truck bombs possess the equivalent energy of 10-
15 tons of TNT."

Add to this mix John Allen Muhammad, a former U.S. Army Gulf War
veteran and prime suspect in the Washington-area sniper attacks, and
there appears to be an emerging pattern that jihadists are eyeing
"recruits" in key positions in the U.S. military.

"Ali, Mustafa Ujaama, and former Army sergeant and alleged sniper
John Muhammad appear to be indicative of an emerging threat of
jihadists attempting to infiltrate or turn members of the U.S.
military," Knowlton writes. "However, at this time only Osman,
former Green Beret Ali Muhammad (a conspirator in the Tanzania and
Kenya embassy bombings), and former Army reservist Jeffrey Leon
Battle, indicted in October 2002 of conspiring to l

WHO PAYS THE BILLS?

Who provides the profits â these nice little profits of 20, 100, 300, 1,500 and 1,800 per cent? We all pay them â in taxation. We paid the bankers their profits when we bought Liberty Bonds at $100.00 and sold them back at $84 or $86 to the bankers. These bankers collected $100 plus. It was a simple manipulation. The bankers control the security marts. It was easy for them to depress the price of these bonds. Then all of us â the people â got frightened and sold the bonds at $84 or $86. The bankers bought them. Then these same bankers stimulated a boom and government bonds went to par â and above. Then the bankers collected their profits.

But the soldier pays the biggest part of the bill.

If you don't believe this, visit the American cemeteries on the battlefields abroad. Or visit any of the veteran's hospitals in the United States. On a tour of the country, in the midst of which I am at the time of this writing, I have visited eighteen government hospitals for veterans. In them are a total of about 50,000 destroyed men â men who were the pick of the nation eighteen years ago. The very able chief surgeon at the government hospital; at Milwaukee, where there are 3,800 of the living dead, told me that mortality among veterans is three times as great as among those who stayed at home.

Boys with a normal viewpoint were taken out of the fields and offices and factories and classrooms and put into the ranks. There they were remolded; they were made over; they were made to "about face"; to regard murder as the order of the day. They were put shoulder to shoulder and, through mass psychology, they were entirely changed. We used them for a couple of years and trained them to think nothing at all of killing or of being killed.

Then, suddenly, we discharged them and told them to make another "about face" ! This time they had to do their own readjustment, sans [without] mass psychology, sans officers' aid and advice and sans nation-wide propaganda. We didn't need them any more. So we scattered them about without any "three-minute" or "Liberty Loan" speeches or parades. Many, too many, of these fine young boys are eventually destroyed, mentally, because they could not make that final "about face" alone.

In the government hospital in Marion, Indiana, 1,800 of these boys are in pens! Five hundred of them in a barracks with steel bars and wires all around outside the buildings and on the porches. These already have been mentally destroyed. These boys don't even look like human beings. Oh, the looks on their faces! Physically, they are in good shape; mentally, they are gone.

There are thousands and thousands of these cases, and more and more are coming in all the time. The tremendous excitement of the war, the sudden cutting off of that excitement â the young boys couldn't stand it.

That's a part of the bill. So much for the dead â they have paid their part of the war profits. So much for the mentally and physically wounded â they are paying now their share of the war profits. But the others paid, too â they paid with heartbreaks when they tore themselves away from their firesides and their families to don the uniform of Uncle Sam â on which a profit had been made. They paid another part in the training camps where they were regimented and drilled while others took their jobs and their places in the lives of their communities. The paid for it in the trenches where they shot and were shot; where they were hungry for days at a time; where they slept in the mud and the cold and in the rain â with the moans and shrieks of the dying for a horrible lullaby.

But don't forget â the soldier paid part of the dollars and cents bill too.

Up to and including the Spanish-American War, we had a prize system, and soldiers and sailors fought for money. During the Civil War they were paid bonuses, in many instances, before they went into service. The government, or states, paid as high as $1,200 for an enlistment. In the Spanish-American War they gave prize money. When we captured any vessels, the soldiers all got their share â at least, they were supposed to. Then it was found that we could reduce the cost of wars by taking all the prize money and keeping it, but conscripting [drafting] the soldier anyway. Then soldiers couldn't bargain for their labor, Everyone else could bargain, but the soldier couldn't.

Napoleon once said,

"All men are enamored of decorations...they positively hunger for them."

So by developing the Napoleonic system â the medal business â the government learned it could get soldiers for less money, because the boys liked to be decorated. Until the Civil War there were no medals. Then the Congressional Medal of Honor was handed out. It made enlistments easier. After the Civil War no new medals were issued until the

CHAPTER TWO

WHO MAKES THE PROFITS?

The World War, rather our brief participation in it, has cost the United States some $52,000,000,000. Figure it out. That means $400 to every American man, woman, and child. And we haven't paid the debt yet. We are paying it, our children will pay it, and our children's children probably still will be paying the cost of that war.

The normal profits of a business concern in the United States are six, eight, ten, and sometimes twelve percent. But war-time profits â ah! that is another matter â twenty, sixty, one hundred, three hundred, and even eighteen hundred per cent â the sky is the limit. All that traffic will bear. Uncle Sam has the money. Let's get it.

Of course, it isn't put that crudely in war time. It is dressed into speeches about patriotism, love of country, and "we must all put our shoulders to the wheel," but the profits jump and leap and skyrocket â and are safely pocketed. Let's just take a few examples:

Take our friends the du Ponts, the powder people â didn't one of them testify before a Senate committee recently that their powder won the war? Or saved the world for democracy? Or something? How did they do in the war? They were a patriotic corporation. Well, the average earnings of the du Ponts for the period 1910 to 1914 were $6,000,000 a year. It wasn't much, but the du Ponts managed to get along on it. Now let's look at their average yearly profit during the war years, 1914 to 1918. Fifty-eight million dollars a year profit we find! Nearly ten times that of normal times, and the profits of normal times were pretty good. An increase in profits of more than 950 per cent.

Take one of our little steel companies that patriotically shunted aside the making of rails and girders and bridges to manufacture war materials. Well, their 1910-1914 yearly earnings averaged $6,000,000. Then came the war. And, like loyal citizens, Bethlehem Steel promptly turned to munitions making. Did their profits jump â or did they let Uncle Sam in for a bargain? Well, their 1914-1918 average was $49,000,000 a year!

Or, let's take United States Steel. The normal earnings during the five-year period prior to the war were $105,000,000 a year. Not bad. Then along came the war and up went the profits. The average yearly profit for the period 1914-1918 was $240,000,000. Not bad.

There you have some of the steel and powder earnings. Let's look at something else. A little copper, perhaps. That always does well in war times.

Anaconda, for instance. Average yearly earnings during the pre-war years 1910-1914 of $10,000,000. During the war years 1914-1918 profits leaped to $34,000,000 per year.

Or Utah Copper. Average of $5,000,000 per year during the 1910-1914 period. Jumped to an average of $21,000,000 yearly profits for the war period.

Let's group these five, with three smaller companies. The total yearly average profits of the pre-war period 1910-1914 were $137,480,000. Then along came the war. The average yearly profits for this group skyrocketed to $408,300,000.

A little increase in profits of approximately 200 per cent.

Does war pay? It paid them. But they aren't the only ones. There are still others. Let's take leather.

For the three-year period before the war the total profits of Central Leather Company were $3,500,000. That was approximately $1,167,000 a year. Well, in 1916 Central Leather returned a profit of $15,000,000, a small increase of 1,100 per cent. That's all. The General Chemical Company averaged a profit for the three years before the war of a little over $800,000 a year. Came the war, and the profits jumped to $12,000,000. a leap of 1,400 per cent.

International Nickel Company â and you can't have a war without nickel â showed an increase in profits from a mere average of $4,000,000 a year to $73,000,000 yearly. Not bad? An increase of more than 1,700 per cent.

American Sugar Refining Company averaged $2,000,000 a year for the three years before the war. In 1916 a profit of $6,000,000 was recorded.

Listen to Senate Document No. 259. The Sixty-Fifth Congress, reporting on corporate earnings and government revenues. Considering the profits of 122 meat packers, 153 cotton manufacturers, 299 garment makers, 49 steel plants, and 340 coal producers during the war. Profits under 25 per cent were exceptional. For instance the coal companies made between 100 per cent and 7,856 per cent on their capital stock during the war. The Chicago packers doubled and tripled their earnings.

And let us not forget the bankers who financed the great war. If anyone had the cream of the profits it was the bankers. Being partnerships rather than incorporated organizations, they do not have to report to stockholders. And their profits were as secret as they were immense. How the bankers made their millions and their billions I do not know

WAR IS A RACKET

WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

In the World War {I} a mere handful garnered the profits of the conflict. At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War. That many admitted their huge blood gains in their income tax returns. How many other war millionaires falsified their tax returns no one knows.

How many of these war millionaires shouldered a rifle? How many of them dug a trench? How many of them knew what it meant to go hungry in a rat-infested dug-out? How many of them spent sleepless, frightened nights, ducking shells and shrapnel and machine gun bullets? How many of them parried a bayonet thrust of an enemy? How many of them were wounded or killed in battle?

Out of war nations acquire additional territory, if they are victorious. They just take it. This newly acquired territory promptly is exploited by the few â the selfsame few who wrung dollars out of blood in the war. The general public shoulders the bill.

And what is this bill?

This bill renders a horrible accounting. Newly placed gravestones. Mangled bodies. Shattered minds. Broken hearts and homes. Economic instability. Depression and all its attendant miseries. Back-breaking taxation for generations and generations.

For a great many years, as a soldier, I had a suspicion that war was a racket; not until I retired to civil life did I fully realize it. Now that I see the international war clouds gathering, as they are today, I must face it and speak out.

Again they are choosing sides. France and Russia met and agreed to stand side by side. Italy and Austria hurried to make a similar agreement. Poland and Germany cast sheep's eyes at each other, forgetting for the nonce [one unique occasion], their dispute over the Polish Corridor.

The assassination of King Alexander of Jugoslavia [Yugoslavia] complicated matters. Jugoslavia and Hungary, long bitter enemies, were almost at each other's throats. Italy was ready to jump in. But France was waiting. So was Czechoslovakia. All of them are looking ahead to war. Not the people â not those who fight and pay and die â only those who foment wars and remain safely at home to profit.

There are 40,000,000 men under arms in the world today, and our statesmen and diplomats have the temerity to say that war is not in the making.

Hell's bells! Are these 40,000,000 men being trained to be dancers?

Not in Italy, to be sure. Premier Mussolini knows what they are being trained for. He, at least, is frank enough to speak out. Only the other day, Il Duce in "International Conciliation," the publication of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said:

"And above all, Fascism, the more it considers and observes the future and the development of humanity quite apart from political considerations of the moment, believes neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace... War alone brings up to its highest tension all human energy and puts the stamp of nobility upon the people who have the courage to meet it."

Undoubtedly Mussolini means exactly what he says. His well-trained army, his great fleet of planes, and even his navy are ready for war â anxious for it, apparently. His recent stand at the side of Hungary in the latter's dispute with Jugoslavia showed that. And the hurried mobilization of his troops on the Austrian border after the assassination of Dollfuss showed it too. There are others in Europe too whose sabre rattling presages war, sooner or later.

Herr Hitler, with his rearming Germany and his constant demands for more and more arms, is an equal if not greater menace to peace. France only recently increased the term of military service for its youth from a year to eighteen months.

Yes, all over, nations are camping in their arms. The mad dogs of Europe are on the loose. In the Orient the maneuvering is more adroit. Back in 1904, when Russia and Japan fought, we kicked out our old friends the Russians and backed Japan. Then our very generous international bankers were financing Japan. Now the trend is to poison us against the Japanese. What does the "open door" policy to China mean to us? Our trade with China is about $90,000,000 a year. Or the Philippine Islands? We have spent about $600,000,000 in the Philippines in thirty-five y

Since last Sunday, a question has been running around in my head and troubling my sleep: What induced the young Palestinian, who broke into Kibbutz Metzer, to aim his weapon at a mother and her two little children and kill them?

In war one does not kill children. That is a fundamental human instinct, common to all peoples and all cultures. Even a Palestinian who wants to take revenge for the hundreds of children killed by the Israeli army should not take revenge on children. No moral commandment says "a child for a child".

The persons who do these things are not known as crazy killers, blood-thirsty from birth. In almost all interviews with relatives and neighbors they are described as quite ordinary, non-violent individuals. Many of them are not religious fanatics. Indeed, Sirkhan Sirkhan, the man who committed the deed in Metzer, belonged to Fatah, a secular movement.

These persons belong to all social classes; some come from poor families who have reached the threshold of hunger, but others come from middle class families, university students, educated people. Their genes are not different from ours.

So what makes them do these things? What makes other Palestinians justify them?

In order to cope, one has to understand, and that does not mean to justify. Nothing in the world can justify a Palestinian who shoots at a child in his mother's embrace, just as nothing can justify an Israeli who drops a bomb on a house in which a child is sleeping in his bed. As the Hebrew poet Bialik wrote a hundred years ago, after the Kishinev pogrom: "Even Satan has not yet invented the revenge for the blood of a little child."

But without understanding, it is impossible to cope. The chiefs of the IDF have a simple solution: hit, hit, hit. Kill the attackers. Kill their commanders. Kill the leaders of their organizations. Demolish the homes of their families and exile their relatives. But, wonder of wonders, these methods achieve the opposite. After the huge IDF bulldozer flattens the "terrorist infrastructure", destroying-killing-uprooting everything on its way, within days a new "infrastructure" comes into being. According to the announcements of the IDF itself, since operation "Protective Shield" there have been some fifty warnings of imminent attacks every day.

The reason for this can be summed up in one word: rage.

Terrible rage, that fills the soul of a human being, leaving no space for anything else. Rage that dominates the person's whole life, making life itself unimportant. Rage that wipes out all limitations, eclipses all values, breaks the chains of family and responsibility. Rage that a person wakes up with in the morning, goes to sleep with in the evening, dreams about at night. Rage that tells a person: get up, take a weapon or an explosive belt, go to their homes and kill, kill, kill, no matter what the consequences.

An ordinary Israeli, who has never been in the Palestinian territories, cannot even imagine the reasons for this rage. Our media totally ignore the events there, or describe them in small, sweetened doses. The average Israeli knows somehow that the Palestinians suffer (it's their own fault, of course), but he has no idea what's really happening there. It doesn't concern him, anyhow.

Homes are demolished. A merchant, lawyer, ordinary craftsman, respected in his community, turns overnight into a "homeless", he and his children and grandchildren. Each one of them a potential suicide bomber.

Fruit-trees are being uprooted in their thousands. For the officer, it's just a tree, an obstacle. For the owners, it's the blood of his heart, the heritage of his forefathers, years of toil, the livelihood of his family. Each one of them a potential suicide bomber.

On a hill between the villages a gang of thugs has put up an "outpost". The army arrives to defend them. When the villagers come to till their fields, they are shot at. They are forbidden to work in all fields and groves within a one or two kilometers range, so that the security of the outpost will not be endangered. The peasants see from afar, with longing eyes, how their fruit is rotting on the trees, how their fields are being covered by thorns and thistles waist high, while their children have nothing to eat. Each one of them a potential suicide bomber.

People are killed. Their torn bodies lie in the streets, for everyone to see. Some of them are "martyrs" who chose their lot. But many others - men, women, children - are killed "by mistake", "accidentally", "trying to escape", "were close to the source of fire" - and all the hundred and one pretexts of professional spokesmen. The IDF does not apologize, officers and soldiers are never convicted, because "that's how things are in war". But each of the people killed has parents, brothers, sons, cousins. Each one of them a potential suicide bomber.

Why Bush Wants to Destroy Saddam:
Two Fake Reasons; Three Real Ones

Why does the Bush administration want to go to war against Iraq? There are at least five reasons that people in the United States, and other countries too, should be debating.

(In addition to these five, three other reasons are worth mentioning whose importance is impossible to measure. The first is the machismo of U.S. leaders when faced with tyrants of little real power--Qaddafi and Castro come to mind as well the Iraqi president--who persist in self-destructively retaliating, as best they can, against U.S. policies they dislike. The second is a desire, in the case of George W. Bush, to get rid of a hateful tinhorn who may have tried to assassinate Bush's father, and who has successfully beaten the odds by outlasting Bush's father in office. The third is the distraction that war and the threat of war with Iraq offered from the corporate scandals that might otherwise spread more easily right into the White House. These factors almost certainly contribute some weight to Bush's and Vice-President Cheney's desire for war against Iraq, but it is simply not possible for anyone outside the White House to know how much.)

Let's consider in more detail the five reasons on which speculation might be more productive. The five are:

1. The expressed desire to "disarm" Iraq, specifically to eliminate Iraq's possible weapons of mass destruction (WMD), as well as any potential for their future production.

2. The expressed desire to "introduce democracy" into Iraq after a U.S.-enforced regime change has taken effect.

3. The desire for greater U.S. control of Iraqi (and thus indirectly other Middle Eastern) oil resources.

4. The desire to extend the U.S. drive for global domination by eliminating the hindrance to this drive that the present government of Iraq constitutes.

5. The desire that a conquest of Iraq become the first phase of a "strategic transformation" of the entire Middle East.

Only the first two above--the disarmament or WMD issue and the administration's stated desire to introduce democracy into Iraq--are reasons that the administration chooses to advertise loudly and publicly. And these two are probably the least important reasons in the administration's own view for going to war. The Bush administration in all probability is advertising these two reasons so heavily at least in part to cover up the other three reasons, which it is less willing to talk about.

Specifically on the WMD issue, the U.S. now threatens to launch preemptive wars against nations trying to develop such weapons. This is a policy change of extreme importance. In the 57 years since the age of nuclear weapons began, the U.S. has deliberately decided, time after time, not to launch preemptive wars against nations developing the most important type of WMD, nuclear weapons. We have since the late 1940s rejected preemptive war against the Soviet Union, China, England, France, Israel, India, and Pakistan. If the U.S. is really concerned about the further spread of nuclear weapons, we should understand that other nations--not just Iraq--will over the long run never go along with U.S. desires until the U.S., Israel, and other nuclear powers themselves show a real willingness to negotiate seriously on creating an entire nuclear-weapons-free world. This is precisely what the U.S. should do.

In this connection, the recent actions of North Korea are quite instructive. Caught pretty much red-handed by U.S. intelligence in lying about their nuclear weapons program, the North Koreans brazenly told the U.S. something like this: "Sure, we have a weapons program. You Americans already have thousands of these weapons, so why shouldn't we have some, too?" It's not clear yet how this specific case with North Korea will work out, but to repeat: over the long run many other nations will never go along with U.S. desires on nuclear weapons unless the U.S. and other nuclear powers agree to give up their own.

The problem with preemptive war goes even deeper. Wars inevitably kill innocent people, often in large numbers. That's an obvious cliché, but it is true. Even if Congress gave the CIA and the rest of the U.S. intelligence community unlimited resources and reorganized the complete intelligence apparatus of the country so that it became infinitely more efficient that it's ever been, one thing is crystal clear: IT IS BEYOND BELIEF THAT THE U.S. WOULD EVER HAVE INTELLIGENCE GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE LAUNCHING A PREEMPTIVE WAR MORALLY ACCEPTABLE. There is always an element of guesswork with respect to a potential enemy's intentions, and those intentions can change instantly--and at the last moment.

This question of intentions is vital. It is not enough, despite the Bush administration's arguments to the contrary, to know that some possible enemy possesses and has the

Late on Wednesday 15 November,  just one day before the special Hindu cleansing ceremony of  the Bali bombsite in Kuta Beach, the local Indonesian police chief thoughtfully paraded prime suspect Amrozi in front of the assembled media pack. The fact that Amrozi was clearly disoriented, rambling, as high as a kite on drugs and separated from western journalists by a thick glass wall, was apparently not a problem for our sacred guardians of the truth. 
   
Despite the obvious audio impediments and complete lack of direct access, Australian and Singaporean media outlets were nonetheless able to “accurately” interpret Amrozi’s muffled and garbled mixture of Javanese and Indonesian, to mean that he confessed to killing nearly 300 people at Kuta Beach, with a minivan full of potassium chlorate detergent stolen from Java.
   
Not only that, but as Amrozi peered hopefully through a thick psychedelic haze to wave cheerfully at the television cameras, we were further asked to believe he claimed to enjoy killing people, wanted to kill some more, and in particular wanted to kill lots and lots of Americans.  So thick was the psychedelic fog surrounding him,  Amrozi completely forgot that the punishment for “confessing” to such crimes in Indonesia is death by firing squad.
   
Needless to say, the entire media event was contrived rubbish, but it served the purpose for which it was mounted, i.e. to drive increased levels of Australian hatred against Amrozi, and through him against all Muslims across south east Asia. Australian relatives of the dead at the Hindu ceremony understandably shouted “kill him”, while Australian politicians at home took the opportunity to increase religious and ethnic division with comments including “ugly sneering Indonesian attitudes”, and “these people are vicious and dangerous.”
   
To establish exactly who arranged and paid for the Amrozi charade in Bali, we need only look at exactly where the story was covered and broadcast in excessive detail by the western media, and who benefited most from staging the charade in the first place. Australians were beyond doubt the prime media target audience, with Indonesians following a close second. There was also significant coverage in Great Britain, but virtually none at all in America.
   
Think about it people, think about it. Here was the alleged Bali “culprit” confessing to one of the biggest civilian mass murders in history, and apparently linked to the very same alleged “terrorist organizations” peddled incessantly by the American media. On its own track record, New York should have snapped the story up immediately, and used it to further promote its fictional “terrorist” groups.
   
The only possible or plausible reason for this spectacular event not hogging American television prime time for the same three long days it did in Australia and Indonesia, is that US authorities already knew it was a pathetic scam, quite probably funded by its own shadowy agents in Bali handing out thick wads of crisp $100 bills to corrupt officials. Beneath that lies the 99% probability that Judeo-Christian Americans arranged the Bali attack themselves, in order to “socially engineer” Australian public support for the forthcoming oil crusade in the Middle East.
   
Subject as always to political pressure, members of the Australian Federal Police in Bali cheerfully threw their questionable weight behind the  Amrozi “confession”. When AFP forensic chief  Royds was asked whether he believed Amrozi was telling the truth to police, Mr Royds said: "I believe so". Unfortunately for the Australian Government, members of the AFP also appeared to confirm that earlier claims identifying the so-called “chemical explosives” in the Bali bomb, were at best pure guesses, and at worst outright lies.
   
It was explained to assembled journalists that because evidence at the crime scenes had been washed away by fire hoses,  investigators had this week acted on British advice to “climb up light poles and take forensic swabs from roof tiles, signposts and other places that had not been wet.”  Oh dear, if you tell enough lies for long enough, you will surely be found out.
   
So, are members of the Australian investigative team now prepared to say exactly which explosives were used to make the Bali bomb? Well, no, they have now fallen atypically silent, apart from making irrelevant and inane remarks about the bombers having “amazing chemical skills” and “the ability to build very sophisticated weapons.”  And for the first time in many weeks, these same investigators have suddenly decided to wear full-length protective clothing, including facemasks and airtight hoods.

As UN weapons inspectors arrived in Baghdad, Reuters reported that the
head of the inspectors, Hans Blix, said he "could not rule out the
possibility that there might be spies on his team. He added that any
intelligence agents would be ordered off the group." The following are

Commission (UNMOVIC), will be to avoid both the reality and the perception
that this new agency is being similarly hijacked by the United States. Blix
has said that UNMOVIC has 30 inspectors from the United States, more than
any other country. If the Iraqis detect that the UN inspection organization
is being used for espionage once again, the inspections place Iraq in a
double bind. If Iraq goes along, it would know that its defenses are being
scrutinized. If it resists, its resistance may be used as a trigger for war
by the United States government. To avoid a crisis of this kind, it's
essential that the organizational lines between the mandate of the UN
inspectors and the interests of individual states, especially the United
States, be kept pristinely clear."

What about the need to have people be reborn into the faith?  If they are killed, then

might be something laong the lines of an "aborted" attempt to reclaim these souls for

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM - Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon told army commanders to âtake advantage of the opportunityâ in Hebron to oust Palestinians. 

He urged them to establish what he called demographic âterritorial [Jewish] continuityâ between the illegal settlement of âKiryat Arbaâ and the small Jewish settlement enclave piercing the heart of the Old City. 

In effect, Sharon has called for a de facto annexation of Palestinian land to link the area colonized by Jewish settlers in the Old City with the nearby illegal settlement in the West Bank City of Hebron, to include Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi, which Jews refer to as the tomb of the Patriarchs. 

The Haram is a mosque attended by Muslim worshippers. Jews, who believe the sanctuary is te place where Abraham is buried, pray there as well. 

During a visit to Hebron Saturday, the Israeli PM called for setting up illegal settlements, in addition to the ones peppered in and around the Palestinian city, in between âKiryat Arbaâ and the Jewish settler enclave in the Old City, effectively creating a corridor that would be occupied and controlled by Israel, Israeli radio reported. 

He also stressed that the army must create a âsituationâ that will force Palestinians to leave their homes, thereby marking the first signs of the policy of transfer long-supported by many Jewish leaders seeking to oust Palestinians from their homeland. 

Analysts say Sharonâs new policy is bound to be criticized by its chief ally, Washington, which demands that Israel freeze settlement activity, which has been proliferating, in recent years. 

Polls also show that the vast majority of Israelis do not support settlement expansion and want most settlements dismantled, saying they are a key barrier to peace with the Palestinians and are a continuous source of violence. 

Linking the settlements would require the demolition of hundreds of Palestinian homes and would further cause tension to the city home to about 130,000 Palestinians and only 400 Jews living illegally on Palestinian land in settlement enclaves, heavily guarded by Israeli soldiers. 

Dror Etkes, who monitors settlement expansion for the Israeli group, which opposes Jewish settlements, Peace Now called Sharonâs proposal âoutrageous,â pointing out that thousands of Palestinians live in the area Sharon wants to expropriate. 

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, warned that âif [Israel] carrys out this settlement expansion or linkage, itâs just adding fuel to the fire that will lead to a major explosion in that area. Itâs crazy.â 

Hebron mayor Mustafa al Natsheh meanwhile expressed fears that the settlers were âhell-bentâ on repeating the 1994 massacre-- a reference to the murder of 29 Palestinian worshipers by an American Jewish immigrant at the Al-Harm Al-Ibrahimi Mosque, on 25 February 1994. 

âThey have the will and the desire, and the Israeli army is doing virtually nothing to rein them in,â said Natsheh. 

Natsheh also said Israeli cabinet ministers, leaders of political parties along with settler leaders were inciting the settlers to commit a massacre. 

âThe target could be a congregation at a Mosque, people in a market, or children at a school.â 

âWe so badly need international protection, or a massacre or even massacres could happen any time.â 

Indeed a call was made Sunday by Jewish settler leaders and by some Israeli cabinet ministers who demanded that Palestinians be deported or killed en mass. 

âThe army must end the existence of those who stand against the Jews,â said settler leader and former government minister,r Benny Elon. 

Elon, who advocates the transfer of Palestinians, added, âthose who donât accept our rule here should be killed.â 

Sharonâs âoutrageousâ policy comes after an attack claimed by the Islamic Jihad resistance movement that left 12 Israeli soldiers and settlement security personnel dead. 

Israel had previously misled public media into believing the attack was perpetrated against âworshippersâ. Army sources however later backed down and admitted that battle claimed the lives of IOF soldiers and paramilitary settlement security personnel. 

Shortly after the radio report on Sharonâs âplansâ, settlers placed several shipping containers, caravans and tents near the site of the Hebron attackâa few dozen yards from the Kiryat Arba settlemtnâand declared it a new settlement outpost, AP reported. 

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) that raided Hebron on Saturday remained in place, while the city remained under choking curfew.

Amazon has cancelled its deal with the Jerusalem Post

Amazon.com has denied it is offering customers

the chance to "support" Israel by buying goods through its website.

The world's largest online retailer has demanded that the Jerusalem Post's online 
edition
restract a clearly labelled and prominently displayed advertisement on most of its news
pages.

Amazon
"They have refused to
comply and as of Thursday we have terminated our agreement," Patty Smith of Amazon
told BBC News Online.

"We have asked them to take it down and if any sales are made through them they won't
receive any commissions."

The chief executive of the Jerusalem Post did not respond to BBC News Online's request 
for
an interview.

A source at the paper said the "advertisement" had been not been paid for by Amazon and
half of the commissions from referral sales were paid to charities "that support 
Israeli
causes".

False advertising

Amazon operates an "associate" programme that allows websites to earn up to a 15%
referral fee for purchases made through links to the retailer.

But it forbids associates from implying that the deal means they support the websites
ideologically.

"You may not in any manner misrepresent or embellish the relationship between us and
you... including expressing or implying that Amazon.com supports, sponsors, endorses or
contributes money to any charity or other cause," the company states on its website.

Amazon, which claims over 800,000 associates worldwide, provides the artwork to link to
its home page which the associate is not allowed to modify without permission.

The Amazon spokeswoman said the Jerusalem Post published its link without approval.

Other sites, like Shop4Israel.com, clearly explain the money raised through Amazon 
would
be donated to charities "to help the state of Israel and our brothers and sisters who 
live
there".

Ms Smith said that Amazon had never donated any money to Israel or charities that 
support
Israeli causes.

Amazon has previously been accused of supporting Palestinian groups through associate
agreements.

The Jerusalem Post is published by Hollinger International, which also owns the 
Telegraph
newspaper and the Spectator magazine in Britain.

The Iraqi ploy being used by the Administration has some interesting aspects: Papa Bush invaded Iraq with a United Nations coalition. The son, "King George II", has threatened to invade the same old ploy, only he had the arrogance to consider doing it unilaterally. The almost universal outcry against this aggression has now been salved with a sigh of relief as Iraq has agreed to the resumption of inspections by the UN which as a result has enjoyed an increase in legitimacy. All things work together for good for those who love world government!

With all the goings on to promote the UN there are also massive maneuverings to make sure it can be made viable.

The September 11th demolition of the twin World Trade Centers towers and the gruesome deaths of thousands of innocents both in the towers and in the airplanes worked toward sustaining the advance of world government.

On September 24th after the attack a poll of New Yorkers found one third in favor of establishing internment camps for "individuals who authorities identify as being sympathetic to terrorists causes".

A recent Los Angeles Times Article reported Attorney General John Ashcroft wants to create camps for US citizens he considers "enemy combatants". These camps would become home to citizens that a "high level committee" selected. The inmates would lose all constitutional rights.

Newsmax and WorldNetDaily have both reported that FEMA is in the process of preparing sprawling temporary cities that could handle "millions".

A camp has been established at a Marine facility in Cuba which already houses an unknown number of individuals who have been designated "enemy combatants".

All of this preparation would be less frightening if the danger to our nation appeared to require such draconian measures.

While we continue to allow our borders to be overrun with illegal aliens and make little effort to control questionable foreign immigration, laws and programs have been put into place that seriously threaten the freedoms of our citizens.

Totalitarian regimes have all made arrangements to imprison their detractors in "camps". The first Concentration Camps were used by the British in Cecil Rhodes' unlawful war against the Boers in South Africa. Thousands of civilians were herded into these camps where many perished.

Germany's first Concentration Camps were begun to "concentrate" Communist opposition so that it could be controlled. German communists were arrested and sent to the first camp to be interned for an indefinite period. Hitler described the camps as being modeled after those the British used during the Boer War. He then used the Enabling Bill for dictatorial powers which took away citizens rights stripping them of protection against unlawful arrest and allowing him to place people in concentration camps for no apparent reason. This authority culminated in the incarceration of all opposition including Christians, Jews, Gypsies, and homosexuals, setting the stage for the Holocaust.

In September 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attack, Pope John Paul visited Astana, Kazakhstan to honor victims of Joseph Stalin's camps which dotted that area at the peak of Stalin's murderous reign. These were not the only camps in Russia but Millions of people were deported to these camps. One of the camps was named "Camp for the Wives of Enemies of the Motherland". In addition to Russian citizens who were deemed "unreliable" or who overtly resisted the regime, in 1936 an entire ethnic Polish villages was incarcerated. Close to one million ethnic Germans were inmates. Anyone that Stalin and his henchmen thought was or might be a liability was banished.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote that the camps were begun in 1919 shortly after the Communist Revolution and continuing until the death of Stalin in 1953. For many years some 5,000,000 individuals were imprisoned. There were hundreds of gulags each holding 2,000 to 10,000 prisoners. He estimated that between 1928 and 1953 forty to fifty million individuals served long sentences in the Gulag Archipelago. In every year at least 10% of this prison population died by execution, hunger, overwork, and the general harsh environment. Under the threat of starvation and execution the inmates worked in mines, built railroads, dug canals, labored with timber, and were forced into other construction projects.

Contemporary Chinese camps are known as "Laogai" or forced labor camps. The Chinese Communist Government is enriched by revenues that result from goods sold in America made by Chinese prison labor.

Unspeakable cruelty results from despotic governments using camps to nullify opposition. Legislation to institute them often sounds innocent but the innocence seems always to evaporate in the face of facile disposal of ones enemies. Such power is too great for even good men and is a disaster in the han

Listing all the specifics, their unconstitutional provisions and intended march towards marshall law, using terrorism as the excuse, would not fit within the confines of this space. You will hear in the coming weeks and months from scores of talking heads and pundits about the pros and cons that will inexorably alter life in America. Who will you believe, who will you trust and what conclusions are correct, true and valid?

If Americans willingly embrace draconian rule the only possible result will be total enslavement. When we were banned from the spook infested Free Republic, Jim Robinson stated: âDon't think much of the threat of a New World Order.â Well, Alex Jones is the antidote to the FReepers disease. Folks, the NWO is the entire enchilada. All the other issues and diversions are a side show to what is occurring right before your own eyes. }KABUL -- A new cache of chilling al-Qaida training videos has
been discovered in Afghanistan in which terrorists speaking
English simulate the seizure of what appears to be a building
full of Westerners, suggesting a hotel might be Osama bin
Laden's next target.
The discovery of the tapes, which are being analysed by the
CIA, comes amid warnings from western governments to
expect new attacks. They follow the release of a taped message
last Tuesday in which Osama bin Laden specifically mentioned
Britain, Canada and other U.S. allies as al-Qaida targets.
One of the videos seen by The Sunday Telegraph shows heavily
armed masked fighters scaling down from the roof of a large
building on ropes and jumping through windows clutching
grenades. Al-Qaida members playing the role of hostages
scream -- like they are meant to represent women and children
-- as they are herded together and hit with the butts of rifles
while shots are fired into the air.
The cameraman can be heard laughing.
The "hostages" give their commands in English, shouting
"Move!" "Stop!" "Go!", while the people playing the role of
hostages scream, also in English, "Oh God!" and "Don't hurt
me!"
Later, the hostages are moved onto the roof and executed. The
hostage takers then pretend to throw their bodies to the
ground.
"Anyone with a military background can see this is not just a
general training exercise, but clearly planning for an actual
operation with a specific location in mind," one military analyst
said. "They know exactly what they are aiming for."
A second equally graphic video shows a series of room service
assassinations. In each case, a terrorist knocks on the door

Just a couple of questions?Firstly, given that America has 
had avowedly conservative governments over so many decades how it is that the 
abortion laws have not been amended to reflect the alleged conservative 
mindset?  
 
Or would it be too soon to pre-empt an answer and suggest that it 
is generally "Liberal" mothers who are more likely to do away with a foetus? 

 
Hence, in reality it serves conservatives by culling future 
generations of potential Liberals, because publicly-spoken at least, 
conservative mothers do not have abortions but raise more 
conservatives. What do the Stats suggest?  Secondly, 
Christian Zionists such as Jerry Falwell and others of his religious leaning 
form part of the US conservative mindset and claim that abortion is tantamount 
to murder and oft appeal to Old Testament laws as the basis for their various 
religio-political manifesto's. 
 
If conservatives such as these held the balance of political 
power, and given that they consider abortion murder, would they also have cause 
to execute (as per OT law) or imprison the women who have

Good morning sir. Like you, I am a father and an American. Like you, I consider myself a patriot. Like you, I was horrified by the events of this past year, concerned for my family and my country. I believe this is a big world full of men, women, and children who struggle to eat, to love, to work, to protect their families, their beliefs, and their dreams. My father, like yours, was decorated for service in World War II. He raised me with a deep belief in Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as they should apply to all Americans who would sacrifice to maintain them and to all human beings as a matter of principle.

Many of your actions to date and those proposed seem to violate every defining principle of this country over which you preside: intolerance of debate ("with us or against us"), marginalization of your critics, the promoting of fear through unsubstantiated rhetoric, manipulation of a quick comfort media, and position of your administration's deconstruction of civil liberties all contradict the very core of the patriotism you claim. You lead, it seems, through a blood-lined sense of entitlement. Take a close look at your most vehement media supporters.

See the fear in their eyes as their loud voices of support ring out with that historically disastrous undercurrent of rage and panic masked as "straight tough talk." Careless mistake reveals subversion of Windows by NSA.

A CARELESS mistake by Microsoft programmers has revealed that special access codes prepared by the US National Security Agency have been secretly built into Windows. The NSA access system is built into every version of the Windows operating system now in use, except early releases of Windows 95 (and its predecessors). The discovery comes close on the heels of the revelations earlier this year that another US software giant, Lotus, had built an NSA "help information" trapdoor into its Notes system, and that security functions on other software systems had been deliberately crippled.

The first discovery of the new NSA access system was made two years ago by British researcher Dr Nicko van Someren. But it was only a few weeks ago when a second researcher rediscovered the access system. With it, he found the evidence linking it to NSA.

Computer security specialists have been aware for two years that unusual features are contained inside a standard Windows software "driver" used for security and encryption functions. The driver, called ADVAPI.DLL, enables and controls a range of security functions. If you use Windows, you will find it in the C:\Windows\system directory of your computer.

ADVAPI.DLL works closely with Microsoft Internet Explorer, but will only run crypographic functions that the US governments allows Microsoft to export. That information is bad enough news, from a European point of view. Now, it turns out that ADVAPI will run special programmes inserted and controlled by NSA. As yet, no-one knows what these programmes are, or what they do.

Dr Nicko van Someren reported at last year's Crypto 98 conference that he had disassembled the ADVADPI driver. He found it contained two different keys. One was used by Microsoft to control the cryptographic functions enabled in Windows, in compliance with US export regulations. But the reason for building in a second key, or who owned it, remained a mystery.

A second key

Two weeks ago, a US security company came up with conclusive evidence that the second key belongs to NSA. Like Dr van Someren, Andrew Fernandez, chief scientist with Cryptonym of Morrisville, North Carolina, had been probing the presence and significance of the two keys. Then he checked the latest Service Pack release for Windows NT4, Service Pack 5. He found that Microsoft's developers had failed to remove or "strip" the debugging symbols used to test this software before they released it. Inside the code were the labels for the two keys. One was called "KEY". The other was called "NSAKEY".

Fernandes reported his re-discovery of the two CAPI keys, and their secret meaning, to "Advances in Cryptology, Crypto'99" conference held in Santa Barbara. According to those present at the conference, Windows developers attending the conference did not deny that the "NSA" key was built into their software. But they refused to talk about what the key did, or why it had been put there without users' knowledge.

A third key?!

But according to two witnesses attending the conference, even Microsoft's top crypto programmers were astonished to learn that the version of ADVAPI.DLL shipping with Windows 2000 contains not two, but three keys. Brian LaMachia, head of CAPI development at Microsoft was "stunned" to learn of these discoveries, by outsiders. The latest discovery by Dr van Someren is based on advanced search methods which test and report on the "entropy" of programming code.

Within the Microsoft organisation, access to Windows source code is said to be highly compartmentalized, making it easy for modifications to be inserted without the knowledge of even the respective product managers.

Researchers are divided about whether the NSA key could be intended to let US government users of Windows run classified cryptosystems on their machines or whether it is intended to open up anyone's and everyone's Windows computer to intelligence gathering techniques deployed by NSA's burgeoning corps of "information warriors".

According to Fernandez of Cryptonym, the result of having the secret key inside your Windows operating system "is that it is tremendously easier for the NSA to load unauthorized security services on all copies of Microsoft Windows, and once these security services are loaded, they can effectively compromise your entire operating system". The NSA key is contained inside all versions of Windows from Windows 95 OSR2 onwards.

CAIRO - Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has called for Israel to come under the same international pressure as Iraq to give up its weapons of mass destruction, and urged the United Nations to pass a resolution to ban the Jewish state from holding these weapons.

Speaking in a new parliamentary session Saturday, Mubarak accused Israel of lacking the political will to negotiate and reach a peace settlement with the Palestinians and end the ongoing vicious cycle of bloodshed in the region.

- Despite several [peace] initiatives, plans and road maps, Israel does not have the political will to enter into serious negotiations to establish a sovereign Palestinian state and to withdrawal from Syrian and Lebanese territories, Mubarak said.

In his speech before the Peoples Assembly, Egypts President said that one of the elements of comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East is to have the region cleansed from weapons of mass destruction, starting with Israel.

The Egyptian leader pinpointed that UN Security Resolution 1441 passed unanimously on November 08, requiring Iraq to disarm its alleged weapons of mass destruction or face serious consequences, should be applied to Israel alike.

We are still demanding the application of the same measures to Israel, Mubarak said, emphasizing that the Jewish state should get rid of all its capabilities in the field of weapons of mass destruction.

Hurled with a loud clatter of applause, he also said his countrys support for ongoing efforts to have Iraqs weapons capability inspected, was equally matched with a determination to put Israel under the same inspection.

Israel is widely believed to possess nuclear warheads, and Egypt and other Arab states have persistently called for world pressure to oblige Israel to give up its nuclear weapons. In a Nov. 10 resolution, the Arab League urged the Security Council to force Israel to abandon these weapons.

Bush Aides Consider Domestic Spy Agency

President Bush's top national security advisers have begun discussing the
creation of a new, domestic intelligence agency that would take over
responsibility for counterterrorism spying and analysis from the FBI,
according to U.S. government officials and intelligence experts.

The high-level debate reflects a widespread concern that the FBI has been
unable to transform itself from a law enforcement agency into an
intelligence-gathering unit able to detect and thwart terrorist plans in the
United States. The FBI has admitted it has not yet completed the cultural
sea change necessary to turn its agents into spies, but the creation of a
new agency is firmly opposed by FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, who has
said he believes the bureau can do the job.

On Veterans Day, top national security officials gathered for two hours to
discuss the issue in a meeting chaired by national security adviser
Condoleezza Rice. White House Chief of Staff Andrew H. Card Jr., Defense
Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, CIA Director George J. Tenet, Attorney General
John D. Ashcroft, Mueller and six others attended.

Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge was recently dispatched to London for a
briefing on the fabled MI5, an agency empowered to collect and analyze
intelligence within Britain, leaving law enforcement to the police.
Similarly, if another agency were created in the United States, it would not
replace the FBI but would have the primary role in gathering and analyzing
intelligence about Americans and foreign nationals in the United States.

Revelations of the debate come amid heightened apprehension within the U.S.
intelligence community over the possibility of large-scale terrorist strikes
against the United States or Europe.

The FBI warned law enforcement agencies Thursday night that Osama bin
Laden's terror network may be plotting "spectacular" attacks inside the
United States. Some intelligence officials described the threats as even
more ominous than those picked up in the weeks prior to the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks. But the administration, citing a lack of specific information about
the time or place of any attack, did not increase the national threat alert
indicator from yellow or "elevated" -- a status that means there is a
"significant" risk of terror attacks.

The FBI warning said "al Qaeda may favor spectacular attacks that meet
several criteria: high symbolic value, mass casualties, severe damage to the
U.S. economy and maximum psychological trauma," adding that the highest
priority targets were historic landmarks, the nuclear sector, aviation and
petroleum.

The alert came after the release of a new audiotape believed to be made by
bin Laden threatening the United States and its allies.

At a news conference, Rice responded to criticism from some Senate Democrats
that the war on terror was flagging and from foreign officials that the war
on Iraq would distract the administration from its unfinished battle with al
Qaeda.

Rice said that President Bush "does not begin his day on Iraq; he begins his
day on the war on terrorism."

"This is the central focus of this administration," she added.

U.S. officials also revealed yesterday that they had recently captured a
high-level al Qaeda member. They declined to identify him but said he is
among the top dozen al Qaeda fugitives sought by the United States. It was

Until recently I accepted Israel's self-image as a beleaguered, peace-loving nation in a sea of blood thirsty Arabs. The idea that this tiny state had imperialist designs seemed ludicrous.

But what if, unknown to most Israelis, the world's power elite were using Israel to advance their New World Order? What if Israel's role were to colonize the Middle East, and to become the seat of the World Religion?

Israel's Sacred Terrorism" (1980) by Livia Rokach, a 63-page monograph readable on line suggests that this bizarre scenario may not be so preposterous. http://abbc.com/historia/zionism/rokach.html

Rokach's monograph is based on revelations from the personal diary of Moshe Sharett, who was Israeli's first Foreign Minister from 1948-1956, and Prime Minister from 1954-1956.

According to this diary, which Israel tried to suppress, Israel's image of vulnerability was a ruse. Israel has always planned to become the dominant power in the region, and "invented dangers" in order to dupe its citizens and provoke war.

In his diary, Sharett quotes a conversation with Army Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan in May 1955:

"We face no danger at all of an Arab advantage of force for the next 8-10 years...Reprisal actions which we couldn't carry out if we were tied to a security pact are our vital lymph...they make it possible for us to maintain a high level of tension in our population and in the army. Without these actions we would have ceased to be a combative people... "

Sharett concludes: "The state must see the sword as the main if not the only, instrument with which to keep its morale high and to retain its moral tension. Toward this end it mayno it MUSTinvent dangers, and to do this it must adopt the method of provocation and revenge And above all, let us hope for a new war with the Arab countries so that we may finally get rid of our troubles and acquire our space." (41, emphasis mine)

This policy of "provocation and revenge" was also called "covert aggression." The U.S. "war on terror" is a continuation of it. Essentially it involves disguising a policy of aggression as retaliation for sham provocations.

For example, Israeli patrols would cross the border to attack Jordanians or Egyptians, and then claim the actions took place in Israel. Once attacked, the army pursued the "aggressors" into enemy territory and wreaked havoc. Ariel Sharon was the leader of a squad that specialized in these murderous forays. His 1953 raid on the Jordanian village of Kibiyah killed dozens of civilians. (30)

In March 1954, an Israeli bus travelling between Eilat and Beersheba was attacked and 10 passengers were killed. The UN armistice Commissioner, a Col. Henderson said, "from the testimonies of the survivors, it is not proved that all the murderers were Arabs."
He attributed the attack to "terrorists intent on increasing the tensions in the area." (28)
Thereupon the Israelis left the Armistice Commission in protest.

In June-July 1954 an Israeli terrorist squad blew up many British and American institutions in Cairo in an attempt to sour relations between the Arabs and the West. Dubbed the "Levon Affair," possibly this was a precursor for the attack on the World Trade Centre.

The combination of events punished Household's bonds, and by Wednesday had 
dragged down the stock to $44.71, its lowest level since November 2000
Some investors became concerned back in December, after a Barron's newspaper 
story quoted an analyst as saying Household may have been using "aggressive 
accounting" to downplay loan losses--which the company denies.
Investors this week were concerned that Household will have difficulty 
selling commercial paper to raise money for future consumer loans. The company 
said it learned some hedge fund managers were "shorting" the company's bonds and 
stock, which pushed down the values of the bonds.
The fuss this week runs counter to Wall Street's typical view of Household, a 
124-year-old company that has earned rave reviews by analysts as a company 
that's well run by a management team with a lot of tenure. Household's chairman 
and chief executive officer, William Aldinger, has been with Household since 
1994. Chief Financial Officer David Schoenholz joined Household in 1985 as 
director of the company's internal auditing division, after spending nine years 
with Arthur Andersen.
Community banking activists, seeking to prevent companies like Household from 
making so-called predatory loans to consumers, are usually the only source of 
ruckus--and from time to time, litigation. Household was sued by two borrowers 
last week in California accusing the company of "fraud and misrepresentation," 
according to ACORN, a community activist group consistently critical of 
Household and other consumer finance companies. Household also last month 
settled a "predatory practices" lawsuit filed by California regulators and 
agreed to pay $11.9 million in fines

It's going fast now. Not just the searches and growing federalization
of law enforcement, but now the military as secret police. It's getting
dark out there. I'm going to burrow into Tahiti with a brown maiden,
change my name to Oogawaga, and hope they overlook me.

In Chicago on the flight to Guadalajara I was as usual detail searched
by domestic aboriginals. They say searches are random, but they are
lying. They would be random if mediated by a random-number
generator, which they aren't. Somebody chooses who to harass. If
you have a beard and a cowboy hat, or wear a Harley shirt, they'll
randomly select you at least once per trip. I promise.

Which has nothing to do with security. They are searching people of
whose appearance they disapprove. Priss cops.

I had my scuba gear in a shoulder bag. Our highly trained security
mechanics pawed at it like monkeys who had found a fruit basket.
Great. Kink the hose near a connection and I suddenly don't have air
at 130 feet. One of these frauds pulled out my dive computer. He
looked as if he wasn't sure whether to inspect it or peel it.

"What is this?" he asked.

"A coconut," I didn't say, or I would still be in jail. I did say, "A dive
computer."

He looked at it without comprehension, then asked me again what it
was. Presumably he suspected that it might have turned into
something else in the intervening two seconds. It's how dive
computers are. One minute a computer, the next minute a rainbow-
colored unicorn.

Brainless thoroughness complemented thorough brainlessness.
They pulled everything out, knowing what none of it was, and stuffed
it back in, having accomplished nothing. The exercise was pointless.
I had two dive lights containing twelve C-cells. They could have been
carefully sealed Semtex. The dive computer could have been full of
C4.

And the airlines wonder why people fly less.

Tell you what. I'm going to call Homeland Security in an Arabic accent
and say, "We sending suicide bomber, he haff explosive prostate.
Heeheehee!" Then I'll buy railroad stocks.

Anyway, to continue the grisly chronicles of unwanted security:

Having reached Guad, I was chowing down on really great ribs at
Bruno's when a buddy handed me a printout from the Washington
Times. First sentence: "Language tucked inside the Homeland
Security bill will allow the federal government to track the e-mail,
Internet use, travel, credit-card purchases, phone and bank records
of foreigners and U.S. citizen in its hunt for terrorists."

Bingo. I told you it would happen, but I thought it would be slower-a
gradual linking of DMV records state to state, police records
becoming electronically available, and so on. Nope. We're going for
the whole totalitarian enchilada at once. Yes indeedy. The Mommy
State is going to watch us very carefully. For our own good.

Better yet, the Defense Department is going to run the Total
Information Awareness program. (I didn't make that name up. I
couldn't. TIA in Spanish means "aunt," which fits. Aunty will keep an
eye on us.) Yep. The military is going to be another federal police
force. You want to be watched, don't you? It's so we won't be
terrorists.

Says the Times "Computers and analysts are supposed to use all this
available information to determine patterns of people's behavior to
detect and identify terrorists."

Patterns of behavior. Data mining. If you have lunch three times at
Kabob Bazaar, and charge ammunition at the shooting range where
you take your daughter plinking, and read a book on torpedo design
because you like military history-the computers will kick your name
out, and the feds will show up to ransack your life.

I'd rather have the terrorists.

Note the attempt to sneak this cybernetic Stalinism surreptitiously
into law. Legalizing unlimited surveillance of everybody is not trivial.
If a worse law has been passed, I am unaware of it. You don't try to
make massive changes in the tenor of society without mentioning it
to the society. The White House knows this.

But that is exactly the scam being worked. It is underhanded,
deliberately deceptive, far more dangerous to the country than
Moslem terrorists. It is the product of minds that have no idea of how
America is supposed to work.

If you think Aunty is going to be used only to fail to catch terrorists,
you are kidding yourself. Knowledge is power. It gets used. I'm from
Washington. I know. For example, the congressman who decides not
to run again because his political enemies have discovered his taste
for little boys. It happens.

Who of us doesn't have some skeleton moldering in the crawlway?
Do you want your wife to know about the time at the Watermelon
Growers convention when you ended up in the sack with that gal
who, though married, wasn't married to you? You probably aren't
going to make waves, are you?

It is a common journalistic practice to put a single word or phrase in 
quotes (when it is not a direct quotation) to alert the reader that he/she 
should not apply the normal meaning to the word or phrase. To the contrary, 
it usually means the word should be assigned an entirely different meaning 
than the normal one, perhaps just the opposite.
 
Quotes should not be used to indicate a misspelling, which is true in 
this case. The word used should have been anti-semitic, not anti-semetic. 
Mispelling is usually indicated by (sic) immediately after the misspelled 
word.
 
As used in the heading to the article below, it is intended to show 
that the Israelis think it is anti-semitic but the authors (or at least the 
one who wrote the heading who is not necessarily the author) does not think 
it is anti-semitic.

CAIRO, Nov. 17 - Mustafa Mashhour, the leader of Egypt's
banned Muslim Brotherhood who spent more than 20 years in
jail, died on Thursday. He was 81.

He suffered a stroke and went into a coma on Oct. 29. He
never recovered, said his deputy, Mamoun el-Hodeiby.

Mr. Mashhour, who joined the Brotherhood as a teenager and
became its leader in 1996, helped the group gain influence
by forging alliances with legitimate parties.

The Brotherhood advocates turning Egypt into a strict
Islamic state, and while once known for violence, it says
it now seeks change only through peaceful means within the
political process.

Mr. Hodeiby, 82, had been running party affairs since Mr.
Mashhour's hospitalization, and will succeed to the
leadership post.

Founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood has grown into a
vast movement with tens of thousands of supporters and
branches in many other Arab nations.

Mr. Mashhour joined the Brotherhood in 1938 when he was 17.
He received a bachelor's degree in science in 1943 and
worked for the Egyptian government's Meteorological
Department.

He was sentenced to three years in jail in 1948 after the
police seized firearms that were said to belong to the
Brotherhood.

The group had a short honeymoon with the government after
the revolution in July 1952 that ousted Egypt's monarchy.
But in 1954 it was blamed for a failed attempt on the life
of President Gamal Abdel-Nasser. Egypt outlawed the group
that same year, and Mr. Nasser's government executed and
jailed scores of Brotherhood leaders. Mr. Mashhour was
sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was arrested again in 1965 and held without charges
until Anwar el-Sadat, Mr. Nasser's successor as president,
pardoned political prisoners in 1971.

He became the Brotherhood's deputy leader in the 1980's and
was the force behind its alliances with other political
parties.

Some of Mr. Mashhour's views had caused anger, such as his
calling for reinstituting the traditional Islamic a tax on
Christians, a practice dropped in the Muslim world
centuries ago.

In 1997, Mr. Mashhour caused an uproar when he was quoted
in an interview as saying that Egypt's minority Christian
Copts should not serve in the armed forces, and that their
loyalty could be questioned if Egypt were attacked "by a
Christian country."

In recent years, the government has renewed its crackdown
on the group, arresting hundreds of supporters and putting
others on trial in military courts.

Mr. Mashhour is survived by three daughters and a son.

U.S./Iraq Farce, Act 1: Prove a negative

A favourite terror technique of the Soviet secret police during the great purges of 
the 1930s
was to arrest a suspect at 3 a.m., and in an interrogation room at the dreaded Lubyanka
prison be sat down in front of a blank piece of paper and a pencil. "Write down each 
and
every one of your crimes, and names of all your fellow conspirators," warned NKVD
interrogators. "We know everything you have done. If you omit even one crime in your
confession, you and your entire family will be shot."

The Bush Administration - behind the fig-leaf of UN inspectors - is doing the same: 
"list all
your hidden weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and scientists who made them. Leave off
even one site or name and we will immediately go to war against you."

Iraq's task: to prove a negative.

Consider the possible scenarios ...

Saddam: "Isn't that the company owned by the Bushes and their Pentagon business
cronies?"

Espionage Officer, Chief Executive Officer. No, I'm not seeking asylum in Iraq.

deal. We'll buy you out of Iraq for $174 billion, half cash, half paper, with a $3-mil 
monthly
retainer, use of our corporate jets, a Fifth Avenue co-op apartment, fresh flowers 
daily, a
secretarial staff, golf club memberships, and season tickets to the NY Mets.

"I've checked with the White House. Take this deal and you'll be re- classified from
Dangerous Dictator to Freedom-Loving Ally. You'll also get a genuine enameled American
flag pin for your lapel to prove you're not an evil Muslim.

"This is an offer you can't refuse, Mr. Saddam. As President Bush says, 'you're either 
with
us or against us.'"

Saddam: "I spit on your $174 billion. Do you take me for the Father of Fools? The net
present value of our oil reserves is $6.8 trillion. And didn't I just see the bullying 
villain in
Walt Disney's cartoon Beauty and Beast use the same 'with us or against us' line?"

CEO: "So what? The president has a wide range of interests. How about your own TV talk
show, "Ask Saddam," and a Miami Beach condo?"

Saddam: "Now, you're talking. But who will run Iraq for you?"

CEO: "We're hoping you will, as a senior consultant for us. After all, no one knows 
how to
manage this crazy country better than you, oh Light of the Fertile Crescent!"

Saddam: "Throw in Kuwait, and you've got a deal!"

down on Love Field near the Green Bridge Tuesday afternoon to literally embody PEACE

walks of life took off their clothes, not because they are exhibitionists but because 
they felt
it was imperative to do so," the organizers added. "They wanted to unveil the truth 
about
the horrors of war, to commune in their nudity with the vulnerability of Iraqi 
innocents, and
to shock a seemingly indifferent Bush Administration into paying attention." The
coordinators, who came up with the idea only a day earlier, said that the coming 
together
of this group on short notice was a testament to the seriousness with which the women
view the threat of war with Iraq. "Remembering that tens of thousands of civilians have
already died in Iraq as a result of US bombing and sanctions, these women are not

Don't forget that Newsmax is another Scaifean organ.  They tell their fantasies like

something like the truth.  Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.  The supposed link
between Hussein and Shrub's utility infielder Al Qaeda is thin if it's there at all.  
If for no
other reason, Hussein has been under the gun for about a dozen years now and he knows

Bush Homeland Security bill nears passage by US Congress

Police-state measure threatens democratic rights

The US House of Representatives voted November 13 to establish a new federal
Department of Homeland Security along the lines laid down by the Bush administration. 
The
Senate, still under Democratic Party control in the lame-duck session, began 
considering
the bill Friday, under an expedited procedure that limits debate to 30 hours and 
insures a
final vote by November 20.

The Homeland Security bill represents a frontal assault on democratic rights, both in 
its
provisions establishing, for the first time in US history, a centralized federal 
internal security
agency, and in its consequences for workers in the new department, who are being
deprived of civil service protection and union rights.

On the issue of workers rights in the new department, which deadlocked congressional
passage for the past three months, the House bill represents a complete victory for the
White House, allowing the president to abolish collective bargaining and hire and fire
workers at will.

The vote was a top-heavy 299-121, with nearly half of the Democrats joining with all 
but a
few Republicans to endorse the measure. Among those voting for the bill was Nancy 
Pelosi,
the California Democrat who is succeeding Richard Gephardt as house minority leader.
Pelosis elevation has come under fire from sections of the Democratic Party, who 
consider
her too liberal.

Once the legislation passes both houses of Congress and is signed into law, the
administration plans to move rapidly to create the new department, with a target of 60 
days
to nominate the top officials and obtain Senate confirmation. According to some press
reports, White House homeland security director Tom Ridge, the former governor of
Pennsylvania, will be named secretary. One of the new departments top officials will 
be
John Gannon, a former deputy director of the CIAan agency that was previously barred 
by
law from conducting spy operations inside the United States.

With 170,000 employees and a presence in every part of the country, the new Department
of Homeland Security will be the closest thing America has ever had to a national 
police
force. It will combine 22 federal agencies with some relationship to internal security,
including the Coast Guard, the Customs Service, the Secret Service, the Immigration and
Naturalization Service, the Border Patrol, the Transportation Security Administration 
(newly
established to conduct security checks of passengers and baggage at most airports) and 
the
Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The new legislation gives the federal government powers that go far beyond those 
obtained
by combining 22 separate security agencies into one. One provision in the bill will 
allow the
federal government to track credit card purchases, medical data, travel, magazine
subscriptions, library usage and web and email usage. All this information is to be
centralized in a vast new database covering every citizen and visitor. Entitled the 
Total
Information Awareness program, it is to be maintained by a new Security Advance
Research Projects Agency (SARPA).

Up to now, it has been illegal for federal agencies like the FBI, the CIA, the IRS or 
the
Immigration and Naturalization Service to share data under most circumstances. The
Homeland Security Act tears down those walls, creating, in SARPA, a centralized office 
with
unprecedented powers to link government and commercial databases, using a technique
known as data mining.

SARPA will make use of methods developed by the Pentagons Defense Advance Research
Projects Agency, which has already begun research on the prototype for what it calls a
virtual, centralized grand database.

The identity of the official in charge of this $200 million Pentagon effort is itself 
highly
significant: retired Admiral John Poindexter, the national security adviser in the 
Reagan
administration who was convicted of five criminal counts in the Iran-Contra affair, 
including
lying to Congress. Poindexters convictions were overturned on appeal and he was
pardoned by President George H.W. Bush, the current presidents father.

A man already convicted as a principal organizer of Reagans secret war in Central
America, organized behind the backs of the American people and in defiance of explicit
congressional prohibition, is now engaged in developing a vital instrument of 
authoritarian
rule within the United States.
