Bug description:
When searching the Dash for 'Printers', two printer options are shown
  with the same image

One is the printer option via System Settings and one is System-
  Config-Printer

This is confusing to users as to which one is supposed to be used

I don't have any proposed solution, it's just confusing. Maybe rename
System-Config-Printer to something different in the Dash?

2013-03-05 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
Thanks for submitting this bug and sorry that it was not touched by no
one. I'm marking this as "Invalid" because this package does not exist
anymore, libreoffice's packaging changed a lot and translations are
built in the main libreoffice package--so basically, while unfixed, this
shouldn't be a problem these days.

Thanks again, and please submit any other bugs you may find.

Bug description:
Update the icons used for the Software Centre, Nautilus, and Software
Updater to the new icons supplied in the attached file
  "Nautilus_USC_Updater_new_icons.zip".

When any of these three applications are running, the Launcher tiles they are
mounted on should be illuminated in the following colours:
  Nautilus: #af4853
  Software center: #ffbf87
  Software updater: #4c9e39

(Note this functionality was added to the Launcher in Unity 6.0 as a
  result of bug #962120)

So, packages shipping Nautilus, Software Center and Software updater
should define in their .desktop file the proper X-Unity-
IconBackgroundColor field with the mentioned colors.

This change is part of a larger set of Launcher icon changes, see
attached image "preview-new-launcher-icons.png" for how the launcher
will appear when the full set of changes are made.

On a machine where the only chargeable thing is a battery:
  1. Turn on "Show Time in Menu Bar".
  2. Wait until the battery is fully charged.
  3. Look at the menu title.

  What you see:
  * In Ubuntu 11.10, a full battery icon with nothing inside it.
  * In Ubuntu 12.04 alpha 2, a full battery icon with a lightning bolt inside
it.

  What you should see:
  * "If the thing is fully charged and not discharging, the icon interior
should feature a plug emblem."

The code uses battery-full-charging-symbolic, but this icon currently
uses a lightning bolt just like battery-100-charging does. We need a
new icon that uses the plug instead.

(This bug report previously also covered the extra text "(charged)",
  which has now been fixed.)

which doesn't inherit from ubuntu-mono (perhaps with Adwaita or one of
the accessibility themes) causes System Settings to look really broken
and ugly. These special icons should be placed in the hicolor theme,
and perhaps provided by another package.

"The Circle of Friends, when used on its own, [without the word ubuntu] must
always have a clear area surrounding it, free from any other element. To define
this area, measure the height of the roundel and use a quarter of this measure

The Ubuntu button (or "bfb") does not have the required amount of

That has various benefits, counting the two more important:
  1. Only need to supply one theme between Ambiance/Radiance whatever.
  2. It's way easier to deal with situations like when the unity dash is
opened, and icons should turn white: you just need to set the white color and
it'll be recolored.

This may depend on bug 599448.

In user testing of Ubuntu on 2010-12-15, participants identified the

Similarly in March 2012, Joe Pirillo: "The up and down is probably

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1142211] Re: .....

2013-03-03 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1142993] Re: Desktop Organize

2013-03-03 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
Hi Eran, thanks for your bug report. You asked for the Gnome bug
tracker, and it is located at: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/. You can
report this bug there, but I sincerely doubt it'll be ever adressed.
They, as you may know, are removing a lot of functionality from their
platform, and Nautilus drawing the desktop is one of these removed
features.

Thanks for your bug report. AFAIK, Jockey was deprecated in the Quantal
development cycle and replaced with a tab in the Software Sources
(software-properties, renamed to Software & Updates in Raring) window.
So then, when a user searches for "drivers" in Dash, Software Sources
should appear. Is that the case?

Title:
  metacity themes not coloured correctly

Status in Gala Window Manager:
  Won't Fix
Status in Mutter:
  New
Status in “ubuntu-themes” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  See screenshot

  To reproduce:

  sudo apt-get install human-theme
  dconf-editor, set org.pantheon.desktop.gala.appearance.theme to "Human"
Set Gtk+ widget theme to radiance.

  Analysis:

When the window manager draws a metacity theme it looks at the gtk
colours defined in the Gtk+ theme set for widgets, rather than the
theme selected for window decorations. Thus, if you have Human window
decorations and Radiance widgets, it will use the Radiance theme to
determine the colour of the window decorations and the Human theme to
  do the actual drawing.

The problem here is that there are two versions of each widget theme,
gtk2 and gtk3. Under gtk2 there is only one "background selected"
colour, which is the orange colour.

Under gtk3 however, you can set a different colour for each class of
  widget using CSS rules.

The problem in mutter-theme-viewer: it uses a different widget class
to draw it's preview, therefore it uses a different set of CSS rules
to calculate which colours everything should be. This is why the theme
looks orange in the preview: the rule which resets the background to
white does not apply to the widget used in the preview.

The problem in light-themes: in Radiance/gtk-3.0/gtk-widgets.css there
  is the following CSS rules:

  *:selected,
  *:selected:focused {
  background-color: alpha (@selected_bg_color, 0.9);

  color: @selected_fg_color;
  }

  .background {
  background-color: @bg_color;
  border-width: 0;
  }

The first sets the background colour for any selected widget
(including window decorations both real and preview) to
@selected_bg_color, which is the expected orange.

The second sets the background of any item with "background" property
@bg_color. This is a white colour. This rule applies the real window
decorations of mutter but not the ones in the preview.

Title:
Overlay scrollbars are invisible against a selected element

Status in Themes for Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “ubuntu-themes” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Problem occurs with: light-themes 0.1.8.21, Ubuntu Ocelot
Does not occur with: Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.7

  1. In Ubuntu Software Center, navigate to a category that has enough items to
scroll, such as "Accessories".
  2. Try to tell whether you are seeing the complete list.

  What happens:
  * You can't tell, unless there happens to be a partly-visible item at the
bottom of the window.
  * There is a scrollbar, but it consists only of a Windows-Phone-style sliver
in the selection color. And because it's on top of a selected item, it's
utterly invisible.

What should happen: Scrollbars should not use a single solid color,
and/or their primary color should be very different from the selection
  color.

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Currently on first start and every update, firefox fetches duckduckgo search
plugin icon from the duckduckgo website.
I think it's not very effective, and creates unnecessary load on DDG servers.
Also, all other search plugins in ubuntu use local icons.

Please fix this, as this it's very easy:

In duckduckgo.xml file change this string:
  http://duckduckgo.com/favicon.ico
to the local one (i attached search plugin with local icon, generated from
duckduckgo.com for convenience)

  2. Hold down Alt and press Tab.

  What you see:
  * USC has a sharp icon.
  * The review dialog has a blurry icon.

What you should see: Both have the same icon.

Bug description:
Regression caused by bug #524358, changing the of tweet source for Me-
  Menu.

Using the gwibber in Ubuntu 10.10 betas, and authorising using the new
OAuth method Gwibber identifies itself as "Ubuntu for Ubuntu" in the
oath screen embedded in gwibber. Then when I post a tweet it shows as
  from "Ubuntu".

The Me-Menu should select a separate keypair to that of the native
Gwibber, even if it using the same back end libraries.

    Example: http://twitter.com/popey/status/22793839865

  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10
  Package: gwibber 2.31.91-0ubuntu1

In the process of fixing this regression, it may be worth setting the
application name for the keypair to be "Gwibber for Ubuntu" in order
to emphasis that it is not the upstream version.

With the indicator-fied keyboard layout we now got an extra icon to

separate indicators (all others just have an icon or just text).

Perhaps this is an issue with web standards compliance on Apple's
part, but if a website as popular as that one doesn't look right, I
suppose it might be a problem for the users of FF. Therefore, I
thought it might be worth highlighting it. I did highlight this in the

attach further screenshots - we all know how the problem looks. We all

  the solution.

Binary package hint: gnome-panel, nm-applet, etc...

  SUMMARY:

After graphical logon notification area gets scrambled. Icons are in
terrible mess. Some of them are overlapping others. Sometimes network
manager icon is missing. Sometimes phantom icons show up. They can be
clones of any other icons in the notification area. Bug affects any
  graphics card: ATI, nVidia, Intel...

  WORKAROUND 1:

Run 'killall gnome-panel' from the terminal or Gnome's "Run" dialog.
The panels will automatically respawn correctly.

  WORKAROUND 2:

When you get your icons distorted right-click on the affected panel
(not icons) click "Properties". In "Panel Properties" change panel
orientation to "Left" or "Right" and back to "Top" or "Bottom". In my
case all icons are displayed properly, but one (nm-applet) is missing.

  WORKAROUND 3:

Right click the Gnome panel and remove the offending applets and re-
add them, i.e. Indicator Applet, etc.

  WORKAROUND 4:

Right click the Gnome panel, click on Properties, Check Add Hide
Buttons. and Close. Enough for now. If the error "runs" to lower
  panel, repeat the steps.

In tabbed interfaces such as in gnome-terminal under unity it is
difficult to visually distinguish the selected tab from the unselected
  ones.

In the attached screenshot, gnome-terminal has three tabs open, and
the third one is selected. If you look close you can see the text is
slightly whiter than the other tabs, and the border is a little more
prominent but to my old man eyes it's really hard to see it at a
  glance.

Under metacity, the difference is more notable (or at least, the theme
  is different).

My guess is this is a theme issue rather than unity, but I'm unsure.
If it is just a theme issue please refile to the right project.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 488900] Re: Clock should request fixed width font

2013-02-24 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
gnome-panel is not maintained by Gnome anymore, but this could apply for
other desktop environments as well.

I don't think this is feasible. A good UI font should have the same
width in its numerals, so things like the clock don't jump around. While
this is true for the fonts Ubuntu has used by default for its UI (Vera
Sans/DejaVu, Ubuntu), if you change to a decorative font like Purisa,
then the problem is in Purisa (or not, I don't know if its creators
intended for it to ever be used for UI).

What you propose has already been done in a media player: Clementine.
And it looks weird.

"application font", "document font", "desktop font", "window title

width font because that is the font users select for applications to
use when it has fixed width font needs. Thanks y'all. Have a good

  3) Observe that, depending the order you entered the layout in the chooser,
GDM will always propose you by default one of your keyboard layout to enter
your password. Unfortunatly, it's not the default (by default, GDM uses belgian
keyboard) => BUG

  4) In your session, remove the second keyboard (Belgian) and completely
remove the switcher applet. You know only have one keyboard layout (Fr Dvorak
Bépo)

  Hey it's me again!

I have another request, which I would love to see being implemented
  into Unity.

I installed Ubuntu on an old laptop and noticed how annoying it is to use the
touchpad on it.
To change that I would suggest that the mousepointer should snap on Links,
Icons etc as soon as you are near it, and when you move it with the touchpad in
another direction it will lose it or jump to the next clickable
Icon/Link/button/Field, like a magnet.

I think that would really change a lot, I personally can't imagine
that you need a precise mousepointer while using a touchpad. Morevoer,
not everyone has one of those supertouchpads like on Macbooks.

  Regards,

  Kay Thiele

click on the Firefox icon at the top to restart Firefox, a message appears
"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you
must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." Even

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 455068] Re: Merely starting Firefox gives user a permanent Google cookie

2013-02-20 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos

Title:
Merely starting Firefox gives user a permanent Google cookie

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Immediately after installing Ubuntu (karmic UNR beta), merely running
the web browser causes the user to be tagged with a 2-year Google
  tracking cookie and a 1-year BBC.CO.UK cookie.

The act of simply *starting* the browser should not produce *any*
permanent tracking cookies. Let alone Google "do some evil", track
everyone everywhere and remember everything forever, cookies. Nor
cookies issued by the British government.

  To reproduce:

  * Install a new Ubuntu karmic koala system, if necessary. Plug it into the
Internet.
  * Add a new user to the running system, so they'll have no previous Firefox
config: "sudo adduser cookietest".
  * Log in as the new user "cookietest".
  * Start Firefox.
  * When the Ubuntu start page appears (http://start.ubuntu.com/9.10/),
immediately go into the Edit menu and hit "Preferences".
  * Click on "Privacy".
  * Click on the link that says "Remove individual cookies..." (or if it's
showing, the button on the far right, "Show Cookies...").

Two sites with cookies will be listed. If you twist (click) the
triangle to the left of each one, you can see the cookies themselves:

   bbc.co.uk BBC-UID
   google.com PREF

Clicking on each cookie will show its value and attributes:

  Name: BBC-UID
Content: (A very long encoded string with a bunch of strings in it like
"Gecko" "Ubuntu" "karmic", "Firefox", etc).
  Domain: .bbc.co.uk
  Path: /
Send For: Any type of connection
Expires: Mon 18 Oct 2010 ... (a year from today)

  Name: PREF
  Content: ID=c1338edc1fbbc34a:TM=1255898269:LM=1255898269:S=-K5OC6XRbtZBlmg3
  Domain: .google.com
  Path: /
Send for: Any type of connection
Expires: Tue 18 Oct 2011 ... (two years from today)

What I expected to happen: Starting the web browser in a clean
install would not paste any cookies onto my hide.

What happened instead: I got an essentially permanent Google tracking
cookie, plus a BBC.UK tracking cookie. Before I even got a chance to
change my privacy settings, or to install cookie blocking add-ons.

This privacy breach was aided and abetted by the default Firefox config
setting of "Remember history" (i.e. accept all cookies permanently), which I
believe should be changed to default to:
* Use custom settings for history (changed from default "Remember history")
* Accept cookies from sites
* Don't accept third party cookies (changed from default "Accept third
party cookies")
* Keep until I close Firefox. (changed from default "Keep until they
expire")

It might be advisable for the default configuration to explicitly blacklist
cookies from google.com and bbc.co.uk. But
note that the BBC cookie was not fetched directly; it came via a redirect
from a Mozilla server. Mozilla could change that
redirect to some other site at any time. Only disabling cookies totally, for
all sites, would truly protect users from this
kind of automated tracking. (The blacklist is under
Edit->Preferences->Privacy, then you have to change a menu item
from "Remember history" to "Use custom settings for history" and then click
"Exceptions..." in the right margin. Mozilla
has made it as hard as possible to turn off Google's cookies, without
actually removing the ability to do so!)

This cookie storage was possibly aided and abetted by the Ubuntu start
page, which includes graphics from Google (currently, this graphic
does not appear to come with a cookie, though if we close Google's
other route to tag every Firefox user, they could easily change this
graphic to set a cookie -- which is a good reason to block "third
party" cookies). The BBC cookie arrives via the default entry in the
"Bookmarks toolbar" for "Latest headlines". This RSS feed goes to
  "http://fxfeeds.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/headlines.xml";, which
responds with a 302 redirect to
  "http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_world_edition/front_page/rss.xml";.
Firefox appears to automatically fetch that RSS feed, whether or not
the user clicks on it. And the BBC sets a cookie with every response
it makes to an http request to that site.

Hmm. Disconnecting the Ethernet before the first run of Firefox
  produces a different start page:

file:///usr/share/ubuntu-artwork/home/index.html

and no cookies are there, when I look. This is a bit complicated.
The start page is set in Preferences to:

chrome://ubufox/content/startpage.html

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Here are the messages
Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you
must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

  (firefox-bin:2686): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times

property `GtkTreeView::odd-row-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value

I have had to find the way for changing default browser in order to be
abble to send this report (with firefow as default, no report could be
  sent.

My system results from an update of xubuntu 904 to xubuntu 910

Maybe the minor environment error about colour installation results in a
wrong error treatment doubling the call to firefox ??
Note that thunderbird also pretends to be called twice but does start
  (thunderbird-bin:3006): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times

restart of firefox is disrupted. Closed firefox still running in
hidden, and reopening of firefox calls message "firefox is allready

It is possible to overcome the mistake by closing the firefox from
system monitor - firefox-bin - end process. But closing by usual way
does not work (it closes only visible window, not the process).

Title:
firefox hangs when it loads a page in the background

Status in The Mozilla Firefox Browser:
  Invalid
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
If you middle click the link on a page it opens the link in a new tab. The
page
begins to load in the background. At one point firefox hangs for 3-5 seconds
and
then resumes. I think this is probably happening when the page stops
downloading
and it starts rendering, but I have no way to confirm this. There is a
noticable
lag and If I am scrolling through a large portion of text all of a sudden the
scroll bar stops scrolling. It still receives input though, and when firefox
resumes it scrolls really fast to where it would have been if it was acting
normally. (does that last part make sense?)

this is with Hoary. and firefox v1.0.6

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

I'd like to think that this is my keyboard's fault, but I've only been
able to reproduce this behaviour on Firefox, and only with Ctrl+W

The situation is as follows, and happens quite often (not always, but
often): I have many tabs opened, and press ctrl+w to close the current
tab, as I've always done. If this bug appears, firefox will keep
closing all tabs, even though ctrl+w is no longer pressed, until there
is only one tab and the browser closes itself.

After firefox has closed, no other windows are closed, so this isn't
the keyboard's or the window manager's fault. Also, when typing on web
forms, like I'm doing now filing this bug report, no keys get "stuck".
  It only happens with ctrl+w.

This bug seems to appear only when I'm working with beryl (0.2.0) but,
as stated before, it's not happening with any other app

If you need further information please contact me here, I'll be happy
  to trace down this bug.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1129509] Re: I don't know

2013-02-19 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1130399] Re: Nautilus CIFS Windows Share Mount Bug

2013-02-19 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
** Package changed: ubuntu => nautilus (Ubuntu)

--
You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop

Title:
Nautilus CIFS Windows Share Mount Bug

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In Ubuntu 12.04 (and I believe ALL desktop versions newer than 10.10)
  are effected by this bug.

When mounting a Windows share via Nautilus, e.g. File -> Connect to
  Server -> Type: Windows Share

gvfs will FAIL on authentication unless BOTH the DOMAIN NAME and
  SERVER NAME are in CAPS.

This is a major issue and will cause almost all users to fail to
authenticate. Nautilus shows no error except verify user details.
Nothing in logs. And will end up locking a Windows Domain user
  account.

Also for some reason the "Add Bookmark" checkbox is missing from the
mount process which makes no sense. This causes an additional
usability issue as to add a bookmark the user then needs to pull up
Nautilus, Right Click the Mount they loaded, and then Add Bookmark
from there. This process was much more streamlined (and the bug didn't
  exist) in 10.04.

I hope you guys can repair this soon as any mixed environment using
Ubuntu desktops and doing a common task such as mounting a windows
share in a corporate environment is broken in 12.04.

middle button to open a new tab

Status in The Mozilla Firefox Browser:

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

1- If you left-click on the dropdown button to the left of the URL
bar, and then click on an URL, you're taken to that address.

2 - If you click on the button, then MIDDLE-CLICK on the URL, firefox
opens it on a new tab.

Something I usually do is clicking the dropdown button and keep
pressed, then release the button when I'm over the desired URL that
allows me to perform operation no.1 with just one click.

I would like to be able to perform operation no.2 with just one click
too, that is, MIDDLE-CLICKING the dropdown button and keep pressed,
then release when I'm over the desired URL to open it on a new tab.
But it seems middle-clicking the dropdown button has no effect at all.

  Steps to Reproduce:
  1. middle click and hold the dropdown history button at the right of the URL
bar

  Actual Results:
  nothing happens

  Expected Results:
  a. History shows (as if left mouse button was clicked).
  b. Pointer can be moved down to chosen URL in the history shown, while holding
  middle button.
  c. Releasing middle button at chosen URL opens URL in new tab.

Title:
Option to display file in browser, treat as text/plain

Status in The Mozilla Firefox Browser:
  In Progress
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  A suggestion:

When you click certain files, like .py or .pl files, for example, Firefox
brings
up a dialog that offers you the ability to:
  1. Open with a certain application
  2. Save to disk
What would be nice is a third option:
  3. Treat as text/plain

The wording could be altered... "Display as text in browser" or
  something.

Sometimes you just want to quickly visit a file on the web and look for
something in it, and the fact that you *could* open it in a more customized
application is true but not really easier for you at that moment. If you just
want to look a Python script for a version number at the top it is not
necessary
to open it in your IDE or save it to disk; you just want to open it in the
normal viewing window as plain text and quickly find what you need to look at.

Title:
Some settings not saved or applied

Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When I go to the Chromium "Settings" page and change settings, some of
the settings are not applied and then do not appear as changed when I
close and open the "Settings" page again. For example, I check the "On
start-up -> Continue where I left off" and when I reopen the
"Settings" page it is not checked. When I check "Downloads -> Ask
where to save each file before downloading," it also does not remain
checked if I reopen the "Settings" page and I can't get it to prompt
me for where to save downloads. Changes to the "Privacy" settings also
cannot be saved, as only the first option remains checked at all
times. Some changes seem to have an effect, such as the "Appearance"
  and "Web content" settings.

Strangely, chromium's behavior seems to have little to do with what
persists in the checkboxes. For example, I can't get "Offer to save
passwords I enter on the web" to stick, but chromium offers to save
passwords anyway. With the privacy settings, it seems to be using a
prediction service although that option is not checked. Although I
can't get the "continue where I left off" setting to stick, it
continues where I left off anyway.

Other users have reported similar problems here:
  https://productforums.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/chrome/MJWGekR868o.
The original poster in this thread suggests it has to do with a
reinstall, but I have not reinstalled chromium.

Use liberation fonts in firefox by default for better website layout

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

  Hello,

with the fonts that are currently used by default in Firefox to render
websites (I guess DejaVu), the layout on some sites is a bit distorted, you can
see this in the screenshots below (taken on a fresh Jaunty installation).
The cause for this seems to be that these fonts are a bit bigger than the
default Microsoft fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, ...), on whose size some web
layouter obviously rely.
A possible workaround would be to use the Liberation Fonts for Firefox which
are metric compatible with the Microsoft ones:

  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberation_fonts

I am doing this on my machine for some time now by selecting them manually in
"Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Fonts & Colors -> Extended...", they look
very good.
The Liberations Fonts package seems to be in Main now (ttf-liberation).

  Kind regards,
  Jan

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 876210] Re: Ubuntu Software Center takes a long time to load

2013-02-18 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
To comment 10: Just to be clear, I DON'T like to receive complaints like
these in my inbox. That's just useless noise. If I was a developer, I
would have solved your bug immediately just because I love to contribute
my time to improve others' life. I want this fixed as much as you do.
And, just FYI, if a bug's inactivity is your reason to switch distros
--which is silly, IMHO--, Mint also doesn't traiage user-submitted bugs.

AFAIK the developers are currently working in a new implementation of

landed into Ubuntu yet. After it does, I think we can move this bug over

  [wishlist] Ability to schedule tweets

Status in Gwibber:

Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Hoping I followed the directions correctly to post a feature request.
First off, thanks to everyone on the Gwibber team for spending their
time making a great free software application. We really appreciate
  it.

I want to request the ability to schedule tweets (or the equivalent
posting forms on other services) for a specific time. E.g.: It's 11am
now but I want to send a particular tweet at 5pm. So I'd like to be
able to enter that tweet into Gwibber now, click a button that says
"schedule" instead of "send", and then set the time that my tweet is
actually sent by Gwibber automatically. Basically a "set it and forget
  it" kind of deal.

This would be a useful feature for people who are maintaining social
media accounts for organizations such as non-profits or businesses. A
small organization often wants to maintain a twitter presence every
day (if not around the clock), but doesn't have someone whose sole job
is to watch the twitter streams. So this would allow someone to
basically type in a few tweets at the beginning of the day, rest
comfortably knowing that their tweets will be sent at the specified
time, and then move on to work on other things.

  Thanks for your time reading.
