Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
Move the mpouse over the Favorites title bar and you will see a "pencil" icon on the right hand side. Click the "pencil" and you are now editing Favorites. To edit the favorites entry - click on the entry. The alternatives would be to use a text editor such as Wordpad but only SC is not running in case the file is open. This is easiest if doing bulk editing (e.g. global text replace on all lines). Another alternative is to use the SC builtin OPML editor - goto to Plugins Favorites and enable the OPML editor. Then the editor will appear under Extras on main SC web page. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
I think I've cracked it. In the "audio" settings for SB2 & SB3 SC7 sets the final item described as "MP3 Streaming method" to "Direct Streaming" once I changed this to "Proxied Streaming" I was finally able to get the dabbar streams working. Using the OPML that BPA created imported into my favourites it all works fine. Should the need arise how does one edit an OPML file? It should work but there have been many changes in the code for SqueezeCenter and this may be the cause. However, a few posts back, another user Paul Webster says that he has SC7 working with dabbar so it could be a configuration issue. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
Thanks for all your help. The type.conf file led me to try out one I had from SS 6.2.2. I then discovered that irrespective of which type.conf I used, my problem had sort of made progress. I have 1 SB1, 3 SB2s and 1 SB3. Three players are by default synced (2 SB2s and a SB3). If I tried playing dabbar on the SB1 it worked, on the stand alone SB2 it didn't work, on the synced players it would work if more than one was powered on (powering is not synced)and would continue to work when one of the playing SBs was turned off (by powering off I only mean hitting the red button on the remote). If the three synced players were set to unsynced in settings none of them would play dabbar. So has anyone any thoughts on how I persuade the SBs to work individually. Tracing back in the code, I'm not sure if it is significant but the connection could fails because there is no Contenttype (e.g. mime audio/mpeg) as indicated in the message below - however I would have thought the mp2 entry in types.conf should have provided the content type. Is there a config option in dabbar for this mime field ? The ip address of the PC running SC is 192.168.0.3 this is also where dabbar runs. The ip address of the SB is 192.168.0.15. The ip address in the opml entries should be the IP address you use. Also if you use a password you may beed to add that in. I've tried the OPML file in my favourites and it got a little further in that dabbar briefly indicated it was tuning (a flashing red icon in the application) and then the message on the SB that it can't connect to server. Importantly it didn't send dabbar into the loop that it was going into where I had to kill it. I suppose that there should be some diagnostic info somewhere. Can you advise on switching it on and where to look for it. Yep - that works (anyone other than the original provider of the source file will have to remember to edit it first to use the correct hostname:port (and possibly password)). I'll pencil in taking a look at generating a .opml on the fly from the DABBar stations page which should then work for anyone regardless of their set-up and local station variations. -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
Since the Tune-in works - my guess is the file extension of the playlist is confusing SC. The format of the DABRadio list is PLS which should have an extension pls whereas your file has a m3u extension even though it is not an M3U formatted playlist. That aside - for SC7 you should use OPML. Use the following as a basis and see if it can work from the Favorites menu. Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
However, if you use the ink to the .mp2 in the "Tune in URL" box then it works fine ... (but the .m3u does not - says "stream ended"). So - it looks to me like something has changed/broken in the way that it is parsing the info about the stream when it comes in via Favourites. -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
(using late beta of SC7) If you simply add the .m3u to the favourites - then the Squeezebox shows "Invalid XML" - presumably because it doesn't know how to handle the .m3u coming via that route. If you change to the .mp2 then DABBar sees show that the stream has started - but the radio just shows the waiting circle. I can look at this again tonight - and can turn on debugging etc. -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
There is a missing piece or a bit of wrong information. Slimservers has no conversion rules for Mp2 and the Squeezebox cannot play MP2 streams. Either the stream in the in the M3U file are in fact MP3 streams or you have another app running with Slimserver to transcode. As an example of how an MP2 satellite stream is fed into Slimserver look at this thread from about post 10 onwards. IT relates to a satellite receive Creambox which outputs an MP2 stream. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43036&highlight=dreambox If you have an MP2 stream, my guess VLC can be made to work with dabbar and setup to enable channel selection. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44180 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
dabbar (www.dabbar.co.uk) interfaces with (amongst others) the Trinloc Dab radio and is a replacement for the software that comes with the Trinloc Radio. It uses port 8080 and only runs on Windows XP. I attach a copy of the playlist that I used with 6.2.2. The stream is MP2. If I try to run dabbar with the current version of SC7 (a nightly from 23 Jan) it completely locks the system and I have to kill dabbar to recover. Could the issue be with the port it is using? Re: [slim] .m3u files (dabbar streaming)will not stream in 7
Sorry. Dabbar allows http streaming from the psion wave finder (I am not very good at this). So if I copy a play list like http://192.168.1.10:8080/49697.m3u. And paste it into tune in url. The squeezebox will play that url (radio 1) I have saved all the urls from dabbar as a play list in slimserver. Named each one, browse from one of my squeezeboxes press play, it buffers then plays. I do the same in slimcentre and it doesnt play. With some more info - suggestions could be made. I guess DABbar is some s/w which tunes a DAB interface card. What format is the audio and how is the stream picked up ? What changes have you slimserver to work with dabbar ? How do you use it and Slimserver. Not much help but I found the same problem. On the plus side it forced me to get the latest version of Alien BBC & UK/Ireland radio directory: RadioFeeds UK & Ireland.
