PLEASE MAKE ALL DEPOSITS TO THESE ACCOUNTS IN EURO'S.
You can specify how you want it on the order from, but
deposits made in other than Euro's will cause delays
in our receipt of funds. We originally, believed that
you could make them, temporarily, in local currency
and automatically converted, however, this appears to
delay the transfers.

Tril,

Please, by all means, be as critical as you choose! We encourage
anyone/everyone to let us know if there is any room for improvement.

(snip)
Surely you don't deal in

In regards to your comments (thank you, by the way!), yes, we DO deal in
"ALL" digital gold backed currencies that we know to exist at this time. We
do not currently have GoldMoney on hand, but we will get it for you if you
order it. Truth is we have yet to have a single order for it. So, we do
offer it, just indirectly and we do not actively promote it at the moment
since the demand has been so scarce. That is not false advertising, Tril,
its actually the truth. We deal in ALL digital gold backed currencies. If
you want GoldMoney or 3PPay, place an order and I will have it for you
inside of one hour.

Allow me to clarify our offerings:

e-metals (all four of them)
SR currency (both SR-AUG & SR-USD)
OSGold
E-Bullion (gold and silver)
GoldMoney (we can get it quickly if you order it)
3PPay (same as GoldMoney, we have access to it if it is ordered)

Did I miss any?? Gaithmans strives to be the "one stop shop" for ALL of
your digital currency needs, Tril, if you want a currency we do not have
listed, just ask, I will get it in stock. Our four biggest sellers happen
to be what we carry in stock and promote at all times: e-metals, OSGold,
SR, and e-Bullion.

GoldMoney and 3PPay are only a few clicks away thanks to the many wonderful
friends and colleagues I have working relationships with now. We will
promote them and carry a reserve in stock when demand grows. So, Gaithmans
really IS your digital currency destination regardless if you want to buy,
sell, trade or barter.

   Thanks, Tril!

Actually, I was not complaining about this machine; it is capable of
rendering most web pages rapidly. Thanks for the offer though.

As a technical person I believe your web page (www.gaithmans.com) uses too
many "nested tables" (I count 7 levels deep!) which will cause it to
render slowly on many web browsers, even on high-end systems. If you ask
an experienced web designer they should be able to "optimize" your page to
load faster (in fact, it could be done to look exactly the same, but using
less nested tables). I'm just afraid you will lose customers, as 10seconds
is the limit of most users' attention spans.

[e-gold-list] commodities trading account .. fund with e-gold

2001-07-16 Thread jpm

Are there any commodities traders on this list?

I have contact with a small (but good) futures broker who might
consider taking e-gold as a method of funding your futures trading
account. Similarly when you empty out your account you could get
e-gold back.

Obviously from any chunkn of the population there's only a handful of
people interested in trading futures.

The only way to reach e-gold users is this list -- anyone on this
list would be interested in that? A futures broker you can fund with
e-gold .. it's a real steep discount broker too which is good.

Anyone interested email me!

http://www.bamdex.com

The bailed metals deiravtive exchange is simply a member's club that
allows members to trade the price of gold against each other.

>is it legal ?
>

Of course!

To be clear, it has nothing to do with "hyips" or "investment
schemes". There is nothing to invest in. You cannot make 200%
returns in 3 days.

The Bamdex would probably be of little interest to anyone who is not
interested in trading futures or the gold price.

>can you give me an example of how i would lose money or how i win money ?
>

I don't know if "win" is the right word!

Very simply, you can make or lose money exactly analogous to when you
make or lose money on the stock market or the futures market:

(1) become a bamdex.com member
(2) do analysis on the movements of the price of gold, and decide
whether you think it is heading up or down
(3) take a contract "up" if you think the price is heading up, "down"
if you think down.
(4) if you choose the correct direction

ie, that process is exactly analogous to what you do when you trade
stocks or futures.

there is absolutely no 'commission' or costs or charges levied to members.

Enjoy!

[e-gold-list] OSGold = Suspicious

2001-07-16 Thread Alexis Golzman

This is a reply I wrote for an e-mail I got asking to create an OSGold
account (It's below my reply). I finally didn't send it back to the sender
because I prefered to forward it to the e-gold list.

I would appreciate some answers, especially from people with OSGold
accounts...

Hi Marie,

I did create an OSGold account. But I need more information.

I logged into my account and I double clicked on the padlock icon on my
browser's statusbar and there seem to be some problems with your VeriSign
certificate.

This is what appeared in the "Certificado" dialog box (My browser is in
Spanish):

"Este certificado no puede comprobar todos sus objetivos planteados"

(Means something like: This certificate can't prove all of its established
objectives)

Besides, browsing through the certificate details I found this:

CN = www.osgold.com
O = Home Entrepreneur Network, Inc.
L = Fayetteville
S = North Carolina
C = US

Aren't you a Panama based company?

I also made a traceroute on your site and it's hosted in... Malaysia!

I also made a whois search at:

http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois?STRING=osgold.com

And the results are a little suspicious. No addresses or phone numbers?

Maybe I should have investigated a little more before creating an account.

Besides, don't you have an Agio fee like e-gold or e-bullion? (Not that I
want it though!)

> User friendly shopping cart interface with instant email
> notification of the order.

Where are your SCI's specifications? I couldn't find them anywhere on your
site.

And where are the statistics of how much gold you have on reserve? How do
I know you really have any gold?

I keep waiting for your prompt response...

Kind regards,
Alexis Golzman

I'm no virus-software expert, but I've heard of a couple of cases of
Norton missing a dangerous virus, so be careful. Has someone with
a different AV program tried it? Thanks.

2001-07-16 Thread GoldSpender

Thank you very much for your analysis.
I don't understand why that "Paul Dinon" decided to send that message to all
market makers?

I have Office 2000 and therefore there was not found any viruses on my
computer. But what if I install Office 97? My files will be infected? Does
the virus remain in my computer anyway?

Paul

Guess I should have been more explicit - I meant getting up

would be the mistake.
Sorry to cause any distress. :)

PS - I am positive SR can help - they have been nothing but

I disagree that it is her error. She was using the automatic interface
between e-gold and SR. It looks like she took too much time to complete the
transfer, and the target SR account was somehow set to 0. It is a software
problem, albeit one created by the delay.

I agree with you. She should just contact Standard Reserve. I'm sure they'll
help if they received the e-gold.

[e-gold-list] Re: bamdex volume / next, the S&P or Nasdaq contract

2001-07-16 Thread Ian Green

how does bamdex work ?
I'll assume you mean how do the contracts work, rather than how did JP
program the site.
The explanation has already been made in earlier messages. Please read the
archives of this list, or read the BAMDEX.COM site itself.

is it legal ?
Of course it is legal. It is a mutually agreed contract between the two
individuals on the UP and DOWN sides of the BAMDEX (e-gold derivative)
contract. This is legal, according to Contract Law! All of the details are
clearly spelled out, making no deception as to the nature of the contract or
the potential for gain or loss.

can you give me an example of how i would lose money or how i win money ?
I'll give you an example of how I have lost over 2 grams of e-gold on a
contract. I purchased an UP contract, having deposited just over 5 grams for
margin. An undisclosed BAMDEX member bought the opposite side of the
contract (in all likelihood JPM, but he need not reveal his identity!). The
price of gold on the e-gold site went down by an amount that added more than
two grams to the amount of e-gold that USD$1000 would buy. This decreased
the value of my UP contract by precisely that amount, and increased the
value of the other party's BAMDEX contract. The other party closed the
contract, taking his (or her) profit, and causing me to realise my own loss!

In hindsight I would have been better to simply use it to hedge against the
(dollar) value of my e-gold account going down (ie. to buy a DOWN contract),
at least when the price went down the BAMDEX contract would have OFFSET the
drop in value of my e-gold account, rather than what happened, which is the
loss in my BAMDEX account ADDED to the loss (in dollars) in my e-gold
account! This (hedging) is all explained elsewhere.

If you simply want to learn currency futures trading (very unfortunately not
in gold vs USD$), a magnificent website I have found is
http://fxtrade.oanda.com/ which allows real trading in cross-currency
futures (with high volume markets and realtime per second pricing and
interest payment), and which fortunately for me, allows a 'game' account to
be used while you learn how to do it. The only disappointment, that the
futures do not include metals futures in addition to currencies. (This would
have at least enabled me to better pick the direction (and value) of the
expected movement in the e-gold price!)

That's not good, Joyce! If you did not receive any errors loading that page,
then it's quite possible that it may have succeeded in installing the virus

[e-gold-list] Virus

2001-07-16 Thread Tommie Wilhite

That is a word macro virus, it won't steal password. Idiot he may be, newbie, he
definitely is, but Good Lord, don't hang the goober.

Tommie

This detection is a generic detection of the O97M/Tristate family. This
virus infects Excel97, Word97 and Powerpoint97. In Excel97, a file "BOOK1."
is loaded from the XLSTART folder to infect files opened or accessed in
Excel97 - when infecting, this virus drops the BOOK1. file and also infects
the global template for Word97 "NORMAL.DOT", and finally infects "BLANK
PRESENTATION.POT" blank presentation Powerpoint97 template.
Excel97 registry changes for X97M/Tristate.c
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Excel\Microsoft Excel", Options6") =
"Check"
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\New User Settings\Excel\Microsoft Excel",
"Options6") = ""
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Excel\Microsoft Excel",
"Options6") = "Whoa"

PowerPoint registry changes for PP97M/Tristate.c
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\PowerPoint\Options",
"MacroVirusProtection") = ""
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\8.0\New User Settings\PowerPoint\Options",
"MacroVirusProtection") = ""
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\PowerPoint\Options","Macro
VirusProtection") = ""

Virus warning protection is removed for both Excel and Word. The virus
infects upon close of documents or workbooks.

[e-gold-list] Re: URGENT!!! FRAUD SITUTATION!!!

2001-07-16 Thread GoldSpender

That Paul Dinon had e-mailed me too.

Here's the quote:

"Someone claims to be GoldSpender. Their website is
at:

http://goldxpress.ibusinessdot.com/

I just wanted to let you be aware of this situation.

Sincerely,

Paul Dinon"

And the topic was: "URGENT!!! FRAUD SITUTATION!!!"

It seems that person was promouting the virus. But I don't understand how it
could load from a browser and what the virus does... Does it steal e-gold
passwords? But how?

Regards,
Paul

[e-gold-list] Re: URGENT!!! FRAUD SITUTATION!!!

2001-07-16 Thread Ian Green

Paul Dinon (if that's his real name) may live in the UK. The host of the
website goldxpress.ibusinessdot.com is (source: www.opensrs.org):

 Administrative Contact:
MEDIA, ANOTHER [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ANOTHER MEDIA
PO BOX 483
MAIDSTONE, KENT ME18 6LL
UK
0123456789

Note the *highly* unlikely telephone number, and unlikely business name, but
plausible mailing addresses! Note also, the registration details were
updated <= two days ago (15 July)! MAIDSTONE.NET also shares the same
details (and modification date).

According to FamilySearch, the Dinon family name (exact spelling) occurs in
England, various European countries, and due to immigration, the United
States (mid-west). He might be very difficult to find.

Google.com only has two references to a "Paul Dinon", that are highly
unlikely to be the Paul Dinon we are looking for.

By the way, I was going to reply on another topic that *deception in order
to gain financial benefit at the expense of those deceived is fraud, and
rightly deserves condemnation as criminal*. This moral applies equally to
false advertising, to deceptive exaggeration in touting stocks *or any
product or service*, to TV infomercials purporting to be journalism, to
baseless projections given by Wall Street stock analysts, to pump-and-dump
stock scammers, and to HYIP scammers and to people like the alleged Paul
Dinon. (The victims in the above allegedly consentual crime of exaggeration?
All those who value truth, and a society which can rely on the truth and
honesty of its members!) [I am not making any comment on whether any of
these labels apply (or do not apply) to Jonathan Lebed!]

[e-gold-list] ! ticker controversy !

2001-07-16 Thread jpm

a "platform war" has broken out over the harmless bailed metals
derivative exchange ticker!

I have received 9 emails so far!

https://www.bamdex.com/tickercontroversy.gif

(i) we will fix up the ticker so it works perfectly with all
platforms. If you have a problem it is helpful if you email me
stating the computer, OS and browser version you are using!!

(ii) this is a completely free service done for a laugh. no, you do
not have to send any gold (!)

(iii) the information on the ticker has absolutely nothing to do with
BAMDEX or derivatives trading. it just handily shows you the current
price of gold (AT EGOLD) as well as the current egold stats ...
number of bars bailed, lats night's velocity, etc etc.

(iv) It is no SEC violation to use the ticker (as far as we know)

To use the ticker: https://www.bamdex.com button at top right.

Best, JP May

We will fix it Craig, thanks --- like most things in life, its not
quite that easy, since adding the resize attribute stuffs up other
aspects.

would it be possible that you could

(a) tell me your OS / browser

(b) any chance of a screen shot? that would help a lot.

Thank you!

Oh, and make your email so it doesn't send to both the list and me!

JP, make it so that I can expand the window by dragging on the edge. The
border of the ticker is too small and I can't read all the words.

[e-gold-list] A useful Ticker from Bamdex.com (free!)

2001-07-16 Thread jpm

If you go here

https://www.bamdex.com/

and look at the TOP RIGHT of the page,

There is a new feature which is a button which brings up a handy TICKER.

This ticker

* should work well on most browsers
(I'd appreciate screenshots of any problems)

* does not involve javascript or lisp

* is the fastest way possible to get the information
presented thereon

* should not prevent you from using any browser
normally (again alert us to any problems)

* Is a K.I.S.S. engineering project, so it should
work well come rain or shine

You are completely welcome to use this even if you have nothing to do
with derivatives trading!

Anyone who uses e-gold more than a couple of times a week will
probably find it useful. Jim will probably get a whole computer to
run it on independently on his desk! :)

Current ticker:

  POG: USD $ 267.35 /z POG: USD $ 8.60 /g

  400 oz brs 133 # 24 hr spnds10538 # vlcty USD $ .838 m

market pressure: IFGETD opens 5 longs
