Even so the US government's Foreign Policy overt and covert good or bad in no way justifies the indiscrimiate killing of ordinary folk. Most of the companies and people in the WTC were not even US citizens. All of the people killed were ordinary people like you and I. If someone disagrees with a policy being followed for God sake find the right target. In Ireland religous extremists demonstrate their incapability of picking the right target by terrorising school girls on the way to school. Very brave I must say. Terrorists demonstrate their criminal insanity by not even being capable of selecting the target they disagree with. Yes, and I didn't say that I thought it was justified or warranted. However that doesn't change the fact that the Americans who have been merrily bombing other countries as a matter of policy are now very upset that they have been similarly targeted. And I'm not going to pretend I'm even the remotest bit upset about the pentagon being blown up. I would have preferred the whole thing, along with the various storm-troopers, gestapo operatives, one-world-order types, men in black and assorted criminals that work there went up in smoke. I suspect if you compare the number of civilians killed with the size of the US population, it would compare to the numbers of civilians killed in the bombing of Yugoslavia or of Iraq as opposed to their much smaller populations. If I went around throwing stones at my neighbours, how much sympathy would you have for me when a stone was thrown at me? Hello members. I know I started this thread, I understand it's a bit off topic, and I have heard the request of the administration to please bring the focus of this forum back on track. I will comply... in a minute. We have all felt the impact of this horrific event. The destruction was not only to structures and economics. Families across the world have embraced the pain and suffering... I wish I could be there to help in the recovery. The answer is not simply in a retaliation of violence, although that is what it will take to rid the world of this menacing nuisance that the world calls Terrorism. I've been involved in many discussions related to this topic and I have found that most people accept the idea of nuclear attacks... I find this annoying and ignorant considering the level of destruction not only to lives but to the planet as a whole when a nuclear weapon is triggered. I'm not looking to argue the point as there is purely no point to argue. The action that has been announced is the only action to take... and should be accepted throughout as the only right thing to do... for this country and for the free world. Terrorism has no place in a democracy... as stated by President Bush: WE WILL WIN! The insults to our administration are as abundant as terrorists around the world, this is also ignorant and two dimensional. President Bush has been extremely supportive and quite strong throughout all of this... as I'm sure he will be when the strike begins. I don't see anyone else in the President's chair nor do I hear of anyone running to be the next candidate, although, most have their opinions... and we all know what those are like. There are lots of naive, socialistic people in funny little naive socialistic countries that hate America, and they can and should have a fun little gloat that the world's greatest buildings - in America, of course - have been blown up. This is only to be expected, and it's not even annoying at all, because funny little naive socialistic people are funny little naive socialistic people and that's how their bitter little minds work. This is, quite simply: An attack against capitalism and rationalism - ie, against civilization. It's not an attack against the US Government --- it's simply an attack AGAINST CAPITALISTS, regardless of nationality. This sort of thing is the final (pathetic) attempts of the world's anti-individual, anti-civilization, anti-trade, anti-capital, anti-freedom, tribalists. Anyone who thinks this is an attack "against America" has never travelled outside Manchester. I can't think of a part of the world that is more "international" than downtown NYC. I mean, it's called the "world" trade center for a reason. My guess would be that 25% of the people dead have nothing to do "with America", they would be citizens of other countries. Certainly, the attack on the *Pentagon* was an attack against the "Evil Nation". The overall theme here, is simply an attack against commerce - trade - civilization - capitalism - freedom - rationalism. An attack launched by the remnants of non-rational, non-capitalistic, non-individualistic humanity. Let us pray to the holy Dollar .. the sign of rationalism, honest trade between decent rational people, and civilization itself .. that everything from Vienna to Beijing is turned into a sea of radioactive glass. Death to all tribailists -- save us the nuisance by slaughtering them now. There are 1.5 billion people living in Islamic countries. I reject your thesis that they are all irrational. There are plausible theories why they might hate America, such as the support of nondemocratic regimes to extract oil. Leave me out of your wars. I cannot afford them and will work with great dedication on political resistance to warmaking efforts inside the United States. Your war will fail to gather enough support and money inside the United States, and your soldiers will die in misery on the battlefields. God willing the nukes will not hit the US shores.
