[e-gold-list] CASHCARDS.NET related, Hey Steve!

2003-11-08 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello, I recently read someone's complaint about
CashCards (CASHCARDS.NET HORROR STORRY) or somehting
like this, he was yelling because cashcards didn't
complete his VCASH to EGOLD transfer after 24 hours.
I saw Steve getting back to this guy the netx day
on this very list announcing that his customer is
funded. Great Steve, what about my VCASH to EGOLD
transfer request that is pending since October 9 2003
?!

10/9/2003 9:20:26 AM V-Cash Gold ATM our request
Transaction Number: 2231740
Desc: Transfer of 687 USD to E-Gold

I am a CashCards member for 10 months, I might not
deserve the same respect as my fellow who said he
is using CashCards for 1 1/2 year, but I did expect
to have my transfer completed faster than 1 MONTH!
How hard can it be to for a company like CashCards
to fund my e-gold with $687 ?

Steve, as you are reading your daily digest
e-gold-list, maybe you will take some time to
fund my e-gold? E-mails sent to CashCards seem
not to reach anyone anymore so we have to do
this business in public, it's ok with me.

Best Regards to Steve and to everyone reading this

[e-gold-list] Indian domain registrar added! Resllers possible!

2003-10-26 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello to all,

In order to offer even more enhanced privacy oriented services we just
added directI.com as our preferred domain registrar.

Via this non-US registrar we can facilitate the following domains:

.com
.org
.net
.info
.biz

One year of domain registration is still only 15 EUROS, if you do more
than 5 at the same time discounts are available.

Also, we accept reseller accounts with proper registration access (heavy
discounts available).

Preferred payment as usual: e-gold!

[e-gold-list] Steve Renner and his company...

2003-08-27 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello,

I have a serious problem with cashcards.net, here are
the facts.. maybe someone can help me

I am a cashcards member for over 6 months, and I
never really had problems with them... well some
delays in funding but that is understandable.
Anyways, on 19th of August 2003 I have requested 2
transfers to my debit card one of $400 and the other
of $500. On 20th of August 2003 I have requested
another money tranfer to my debit card on the amount
of $700. When I tried to withdraw the money at the ATM
my card was not working.. I called cashcards.net
several times and they said they will sove the
problem. On 25 August 2003 my card finally worked, but
the money that I've transfered - $400 + $500 +$700 =
$1600 were not on the card. I called Steve again on 26
August and he said that he will do the transfer
manually so it will be completed. Today, 27 August
because my card was not funded (again!) I called
Steve. He started to yell at me and told me that I owe
him money, that I'm a thief and that I stole money
from another cashcards.net member, which is not true!!
Steve is keeping my $1,600 blocked for over a week,
and now I'm affraid that I will lose this money! ...
what can I do?
I'm not a rich man, $1,600 means a lot for me.
Steve, why are you trying to cover your losses (if
any) with my money?! On what bases are you calling me
a thief? Steve, if you are a honest man, please answer
me here and give my money back!

Thank you,
Robert Fox

Read this

http://planetgold.com/interview.asp?SPID=44997863

I think if JP has to explain 1 more time he will probably close 1mdc just so
he does not get asked this question again !!

This is the basic story.

Some of us that have larger amounts of gold store it in 1mdc.

1mdc PAY us for keeping it with them (read the article and you will see how
they do this) kind of like a term deposit at a bank.

At the end of the term you take it out or leave it where it is for another
term.

It is that simple. It works well, actually extremely well. But like I said
read the article...

How hard is it to audit 266 bars of bullion?

It becomes very hard to audit 266 bars of bullion if they are not there
!

It totally baffles me as to why there is no audit.

I think about this all the time to try and come up with a logical reason,
and the only reason I can think of is that there are simply no bars there
other than the ones that have been bailed in by e-Gold users. I mean how
good would that look? An audit is done by some big firm and they come back
and say there are officially TWO bars in the vault.

It all seems a bit fishy if you ask me.

[e-gold-list] Security!!

2002-10-07 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

With all the dramas these days surrounding virus's, worms, Trojans etc
everyone has a different opinion of what best practice is to ensure total
security on your computer. So I have a few questions for those in the DGC
community since we are all targeted more than anyone I know, and since there
seem to be so many Security Experts on this list.

In your opinion

1. What is the best virus scanner/firewall?

2. Why? There is no point telling us what is best if you can't tell us why.

3. What is the Ultimate security setup? ie. what different tools/scanners
would you use in conjunction with each other?

[e-gold-list] why paypal wins and e-gold not.....

2002-09-20 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dear fellow list member

With curled up toes I've been following the paypal thread on this list and
I could not resist posting a small comment on this e-gold paypal
discussion

IMO the big reason paypal is winning the battle is that it allows me to
send money to ANYONE with an email address regardless of wheiter they have
a Paypal account or not.

If the user receiving money does not have a paypal account he clicks a link
and from that moment on... The user has a paypal (funded!!!) account.

It's called viral marketing and E-gold does not work like this... If e-gold
would work like this they would have been a lot bigger (And the person
sending gold would have another progeny account)

I find it facinating that nobody on this list seems to get this... It's
basic internet marketing, learned this trick back in 1995..

I hope e-gold will add this to their system as I do not think they will get
mainstream acceptence otherwise...

Bon weekend et à bientot!

Also in Australia the same applies. I have had fraudulent payments
sent
to me via the online banking system and there is no question of
returning funds paid that way.

Perhaps it's lack of nutrition today that is causing my inability to
understand clearly what is being said here by Sidd and Michael. Perhaps
they can answer these questions...

Q. If you are sent funds via online banking (including BPay for
Australia), can those funds be reversed, and if so, how long after the
transaction has taken place does the power to reverse exist?

It seems all transactions can be reversed. Maybe not to easily but they
can be and I recall the time frame is up to 5 weeks. Having said that I
have tried to reverse myself one bank transfer and one BPAY (2 mistakes)
in which both times I was told to contact the account holder and have
them send the funds back.

Q. If funds sent to you via online banking (including BPay for
Australia) are later found to have come courtesy of some kind of
criminal activity, does the bank take the money back from you, or do
they eat the cost themselves? (Naturally I don't care about to poor
schmuck who was robbed, I care about the merchant)

I have not had my bank over ride my wishes and take funds out of my
accounts (I have refused bank wire reversals only so far). I have had a
few chats with the fraud department in which I did get the feeling they
would have been more then happy to reverse any transaction if I was not
doing my best to protect the innocents (idiots who got scammed - $3k
laptop for $1.5k - maybe it's to good to be true :-) - they where quite
happy to freeze my bank accounts though.

Hope this satisfies.
Paul.

Answers to these questions from Sidd, Michael and any other ANZEAs based
on their experience will put an end to my curiosity.

Aggh! Damn, Sidd sent a message just as I was about to send this
message, which makes this message basically redundant now. Perhaps an
Aussie can give his reply though based on first hand experience.

(Damn people who beat me to the punch)

[e-gold-list] Gold economy is stagnant (was SR (was Re: Maybe they're winning

2002-09-18 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

- George Wrote -
How can somebody in Indonesia, China and India, with 41.5% of the
population, and with average per capita income of USD $649, afford the
high fees of doing business in the gold economy?

They can't. There are two major barriers to entry for people in those
countries.

1. Lack of walk in exchange services. You're average person in Pakistan
or India would rather walk into a place, hand over a couple thousand rupees
and get that transfered into gold. The same applies on the exchange from
gold to fiat side. There is no way somebody is going to want to get a
check in the mail in the developing countries. The banking system in
countries like these does not extend to the average person. Transactions
happen in cash in these areas, not checks or wires. For example, it is
common for transactions of 4-5 million rupees (approx $67,000) to take
place completely in cash. People in countries that don't trust the banking
system, will have a hard time trusting something that is Virtual.

2. People with incomes of about $650 a year cannot afford an internet
connection and a computer.

The best idea I have seen so far in the gold economy is e-dinar. However,
I'm not sure if they are still live? e-dinar provided a hard currency for
regular offline trade, as well as an e-version. The hard version and
e-version were interchangeable at local Kiosks. The only problem I see
with e-dinar is that the dinar is worth too much. 1 dinar = 4.3 grams,
which is a lot of money to someone in the developing countries. If anybody
has any contact info for the people at e-dinar, please forward that to me.

[e-gold-list] fraud. how to combat it on e-gold...

2002-08-09 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dear fellow valued list members. :-)

I have recently seen lots of posts regarding fraud with e-gold and the so
called steps e-gold should take to combat it.

IMO there is only one solution. This is for the user to have a token
besides the passphrase. When a user has to KNOW something (passphrase) and
at the same time OWN something (token, number calculator) then it is
impossible to steal someone's gold because even if they know the
passphrase. (Not to hard, I've been receiving Trojan .EXE files lately wich
I NEVER open)

I've seen other e-currencies using this technique but they charge a
rediculous high price for the 'calculator' This calculator should be
sold at a max. of say € 50 or $ 50. Then everyone will be protected, e-gold
will make a sh*t load of gold by selling these calculators and we are one
step closer to a fool proof e-currency system...

Of course this is old news but I have no idea why e-gold did not yet
implement this solution. After all, they are one of the oldest e-currencies
in existence. :-)

Enjoy your weekend!

OsGold had the same use that e-gold does. People used it to transfer value

I don't see any problem with anybody making money by exchanging OsGold.

[e-gold-list] HELP PLEASE - where to buy a credidcard?

2002-08-01 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello,
please excuse my bad english at first - I have only one short
question:

Where can I buy a credidcard, means get a VISA-card or MASTER-card
or similar I can use on the internet to pay. It would be okay, if I
do not get a real credid on the card, I just need the name and
function to pay, 'cause I don't get one the normal way (bad
credit) - it would be okay to get a prepaid debit-card, as long as it
works under the VISA-sign or MASTER or sth., so I can use it to pay
bills on the web.

Please get in touch and show me cheap ones *g* and maybe your
experience with them (and time to get them, if it takes 6 months I
don't really need it *g*) - I need it as fast as possible, hopefully
I get your help, thanks.

[e-gold-list] Hey, where's the beef. (or gold in this case)

2002-05-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi!

I agree with Michael's post. Unless e-gold's gold reserve is PROPERLY audited and not
just some screen on a web page that says, yeah we've got x ammount of gold bars stored
without specifying their EXACT individual weight (after all, gold bullions never weigh
exactly the same), location and a name and phone number of a respectable trusted 3rd
party e-gold might as well be a scam. I do not say it is but I find it very hard to
convince others it is not a scam as I can not show them any proof...

This is what is lacking in the e-gold system. Who tells me the gold is really there
and not evaporated into thin air or consumed by the owners of e-gold.

In my perspective. E-gold is not a valid payment method for anything more than say $20
in gold until it is clear WHERE the gold is. The EXACT ammount, WHO audited it (a
proper BIG company like KPMG, or similar) and a telephone number from the auditors
that we can call to verify e-gold's claims.

It is not that I am paranoid but a simple 'trust us, your gold is safe' really does
not cut it for a payment system. :-) I think any 12 year old will agree on that.

Another point that really worries me is that e-gold's servers are stored in the US of
A. and not in a proper 'international' juristriction like the Channel islands or
whatever. We can be sure anything e-gold is monitored by Echelon and that it is not as
anonymous as we might think it is. :-(

I hope someone is listening to this as the previous times I saw similar postings here
the discussion died out very fast without a proper solution in sight.

Though I agree it is fun to play with hash codes and spending software and realize
it's potential to revolutionize the monetary system it is of VITAL IMPORTANCE to know
the system can be trusted. My to biggest concerns are that:

-NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHERE THE GOLD IS PHYSICALLY STORED (it was even moved a while
back without notice to a new location!)

-NO ONE IS AUDITING THE AMMOUNT OF GOLD. (Should be a PROPER 3rd party)

-THE E-GOLD SYSTEM does not show a proper gold inventory on their 'live stats' page

-WHO GUARANTEES ME THE OWNERS DO NOT DECIDE TO CLOSE SHOP AND TAKE THE GOLD

-THE SERVERS ARE IN THE US OF A. (Wich scares the sh*t out of me personally as I am a
security expert and know the Echelon spy system does exist)

From: Michael Heffernan [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Gents,
I'm trying to determine the physical location of e-gold's gold. I see the
examiner notes the audit was done in Ontario, (I assume) Canada, but I
also remember reading on this list someone's mentioning the gold had been
moved to London. Any confirmation on this?
Also, does anyone know where Central Escrow Agency Limited is located or
anything else about the company?
Any info would be appreciated.
Regards,
Michael

His email headers show that he connected from a russian dialup:

If you write to me directly and study my reply headers you will see the

Hello Patrick and others,

this is Andi LeDuc, I am the maker of www.alpina1.net and have NOTHING
to do with Mariman, stop! that's not fully true: I have quite a few
hosting clients which abandonned Mariman, because of being disgruntled,
to say the least. What he offers is the 'PERFECT NANNY HOSTING', whereas
I am providing a hosting service for the professionals with proxy
access, SOCKS5 and remailer services, all aimed at the privacy concerned
client. Try this with mariman.

I don't know how you arise to your conclusions... to me it seems that
you replied to me PRIVATELY, but Mariman posted to the list in reference

[e-gold-list] netspend / netgoldspend / mailing outside of US

2002-04-24 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dear fellow list members. :-)

I tried claiming the gift vertificate from netspend but was to late. :-( I am
interested in getting a couple of netspend cards but am not in Texas or anywhere else
in the US.

I found out that in order to get a netspend debit card you NEED a US mailing
address Not that this is a problem, I have friends that can be trusted but it did
piss me off I just think it is a typical example of the narrow minded US companies
can be.

WHY is it that most US companies do not realize there is business conducted OUTSIDE of
the US and that people might use another currency then dollars.

Why is it that most US companies do not know that a 1-800 number really does not work
from outside the US, so forget any customer support. There is allways a 'normal'
number linked up to a 1-800 number but nobody ever seems to know this alternate phone
number. This is one of the reasons most software outside the US is pirated After
all, who is paying for unsuported software. :-) Even if you are willing to pay a
premium international telephone fee for support you cant get it.

Anyway, I want to get a netspend card, fill it with cash and use it. Netspendgold
seems to have a good thing going here but their site was down when I checked (I
got a no gold price error)

I do prefer the netspend approach over the other debit cards I've seen being connected
to e-gold. This card has the LOWEST rates I've seen so far.. (The other ones are just
downright expensive...)

At least the netspend card has a online transaction history. (I tried the other e-gold
connected cards but they all charge for this feature wich should be free...) I refuse
to pay for 'account access'...

So.. If someone in the US would start reselling netspend cards and mail 'm out to
lots of people world wide they would have a nice business, piggy backing on netspend.
:-)

Best regards, Martijn @ [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[e-gold-list] scam spam?

2002-04-22 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Yo fellow list members!

It might be a good idea to start an e-gold anti fraud squad. Anyone that participates
would install a plugin / app on their PC(s)

The moment one of these scam artists start mailing their sad little beg for gold
messages we enter their IP address / domain name / URL in a central console and all
the connected E-Gold Fraud Squad will instantly start DDOS attacks on their servers...

The result is that NOBODY will be able to access the scammers machine, the scammer
will be offline but also anyone that might be tricked into entering account details
will be unable to connect to the rogue site because we blasted it off the net...

Anyone has a proper DDOS tool ready? It would need central administration by a trusted
party so that we know we only target fraudsters...

Anyway, it's just an idea I'm playing with

Kind regards, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[e-gold-list] ||||| Slow Debit Cards

2001-09-10 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello everyone :)
Jonathan Regan here.

Just thought I'd post publically that I'm very
annoyed because I ordered and PAID for a
Standard Reserve debit card over 5 weeks
ago. It still hasn't arrived.

Yes, I understand they have changed to the new
CashLinks cards, but I also understand what it
is like to be told something will arrive soon,
and then it simply doesn't ...

I really hope that Standard Reserve maintains
its customer support standards, and I sure hope
my debit card arrives soon. Anywhere in the world
in 7 business days? Rubbish. How about 5 weeks?

How about 4 weeks since I sent my debit card
application, details etc for the new CashLinks
cards? Not 7 days. Is anyone else experiencing
incredible delays ??? Perhaps it is me, and yet
I followed their instructions perfectly, and have
been in contact with support numerous times ...

I hope that once things get smoothed out, they
will in fact be able to provide debit cards to
an international audience within 7 days. Oh yes,
and I live in Australia. Pretty easy to send
stuff here right?

Set the standards for the other gold currencies
to follow! Sorry, just had to air my feelings,
and satisfy myself that I'm not the only one who
is waiting ...

Cheers,
Jonathan

[e-gold-list] |||||| HOSTING

2001-08-31 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello everyone :)
Jonathan Regan here.

Thanks for providing such interesting reading
over the last 6 months. Quite some time ago,
I asked for public opinions of hosting, and
I received many different reccommendations.

After spending over 3 months in the research
phase, I have decided to rent my own totally
secure, dedicated server. This obviously costs
quite a lot of money, and so I thought I'd
send an email out to the E-gold list.

I'd like to know if anyone is interested in
sharing my dedicated server. Currently it has
20GB of space, and 300GB transfer a month. It
has all the features that you would expect from
a top of the line RAQ server, including SSL,
multiple domain and sub-domain hosting etc ...

Basically, I'm stopping one step short of becoming
the next website hosting provider that accepts gold
as a method of payment for top quality hosting.

To make things cost effective for me, I'm looking
for 5-10 *partners* that are prepared to share the
costs with me. The monthly cost would be very cheap,
at around $13US. You can pay in gold as well. This
is a chance for you to leave your current website
hosting company, and establish your own little
piece of real estate in cyberspace ...

Your 1/10th of a dedicated server with 24/7 support.
THIS IS NOT MONITORING. THIS IS TOTAL SUPPORT!
(ie. you can ring the support team anytime, and they
will pick up the phone and speak to you)

Ok, so who am I?
Well I'm a 24 year old from Brisbane, Australia and
I am dedicating the next 10 years of my life to the
Internet and online gold based currencies. I'm about
to launch my new website, and I have a mammoth amount
of domains that I want to resolve to a server.

I intend to provide the hosting arrangements for at
least 12 months, and there are no contracts to enter.
Hopefully, if I get enough support, then this sexy
dedicated RAQ server will become reality, and we can
all enjoy the top quality features that a group buy
can entail :)

If you are interested, please email me directly at:
Jonathan Regan: Gold Entrepreneur.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (MLMCOP is a work in progress.)

Thanks for reading!

[e-gold-list] FW: metallic analogue of ice cream and chocolate

2001-08-19 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Forwarding, as I neglected to cc...

-Original Message-

Subject: metallic analogue of ice cream and chocolate

Dear Mr. Moley,

I happened upon your website (http://www.chocolove.com/) by following a link
on the website of this chocolate lover:

http://www.moonplants.f2s.com/chocolate.html

who also happens to operate a small, web based business selling Moonplant
Seeds:

http://www.moonplants.f2s.com/

After spending some time reading through your website and listening to your
interview with WildOats.com, I was impressed by your apparent ability to
distinguish technical competence from artistic ability and of your
conviction that it takes love to produce art. I'm certainly moved to buy
your product, but I would prefer to pay you with e-gold.

e-gold is better money:

http://www.e-gold.com/unsecure/qanda.html

accepted by those discriminating enough to prefer your products (such as the
lady who owns the MoonPlant site), and a growing number:

http://www.e-gold.com/stats.html

of (presumably chocolate loving) others:

http://www.e-gold.com/unsecure/links.htm.

I'd be most appreciative if you would:

1. Open an e-gold account...

Free of charge...

2. Experiment to your heart's content...

I'd be delighted to Spend you a little e-gold to experiment with (e-mail me
your account number).

3. Accept e-gold as a payment method on your website
(http://www.chocolove.com/)

e-gold can be seamlessly integrated into online shopping carts (as on the
MoonPlants website). On that topic, one of the nicest shopping cart
implementations I've seen to date is http://magazinedepot.com/, where the
devout can order magazines such as, say, Chocolatier. Will be glad to
provide or refer you to any tech help you might need in this regard.

After you've made it apparent on your website that you accept e-gold, I'd be
delighted to link to you from the e-gold website and to recommend you to
others at every possible opportunity (between mouthfuls of Chocolove). In
fact, even now, I'm copying the e-gold Discussion list, populated by many
who would be more than willing to Spend e-gold for chocolate, and who might
even tell you so.

:)

Regards,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

P.S.
Your concern for the people who produce the requisite natural ingredients
for your product reminds me of Capulin coffee, another e-gold accepting
merchant:

http://www.capulincoffee.com/

P.P.S.
I almost forgot the mandatory press reference. We've had recent mentions in
the press (Barron's and Reuters) that we are very pleased with and that I'd
be happy to snail you copies of, but in the meantime, I thought you might
get a kick out of the chocolate metaphor in this one (plus it lends a little
symmetry to this message):

[e-gold-list] Do you know about this site?

2001-07-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Has anybody visited the following site?

http://internetdollar.com/

They seem to be offering some sort of PayPal service, but they don't pay
you to sign-up. However they have no transaction or storage fees and
unlike PayPal, anyone worldwide can open an account. Funding the account
with a credit card costs only %5 of the amount.

Disadvantages: It's still about fiat money! And seems that few merchants
accept it. And they don't offer an ATM card yet.

Anyway, who knows? maybe it would be worth to consider I$ as another
payment option if you're an Internet merchant. What do you think?

[e-gold-list] Golden Raffle Site Optimized!

2001-06-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have important news!

I've been recently notified by a kind member of this list which is a
physicist with deep knowledge of probability calculus (Mr. Craig Spencer),
that the mathematical formula used at my Golden Raffle site to calculate
the winning position in the bettors list caused an unfair winning
probability.

The probability was higher for the first 375 players and lower for the
rest. The last player in the list was never going to win.

I didn't realize of that when I first published the site. But now thanks
to Mr. Spencer, I'm using a new formula that gives every bettor the same
probability to win. Now it is REALLY A FAIR GAME.

Other changes are:

- Now you can also bet on number zero (It was 1 to 999).
- The number of bets for the current raffle are shown on the home page.
- The site's appearence has also improved a bit (Criticisms accepted).

I keep waiting for your bets and... Good luck!

Alexis Golzman
http://www.goldenraffle.com

P.S: For current bettors: Remember that the more people you tell about the
Golden Raffle, the sooner it will be closed and the prize delivered.
