[Elecraft] K3, KPA500, KAT500 and 2M brick amp keying
I have a K3 with built in 2M transverter. The K3 drives the KPA500 and KAT500 with the KPAK3AUX. Everything works fine. I do not have the key line interrupter installed. Reading notes 5 and 6 on the KPAK3AUX I am a bit confused. I want to key a 2M brick amplifier with the key out line on the K3. Can this be done without the key line interrupter in place? Re: [Elecraft] KXV3B install - no problems
So where does one find the KXV3B info/pricing etc. on the Elecraft web site? I have looked by no luck so far. 73, Mike -Original Message- From: Elecraft [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Joe Subich, W4TV Sent: Friday, June 19, 2015 4:43 PM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KXV3B install - no problems I also installed the KXV3B in my K3 s/n 1450 yesterday evening with no problems - other than of my own doing . The K3 has a KRX3 and two of the new synthesizers installed so of course the KRX3 needed to be removed to gain access to the KIO3 and KXV3. In removing and reinstalling the KRX3 one of TMP cables between the KREF3 and one of the synthesizers came lose and I failed to notice it. After buttoning up the K3 and enabling the KVX3B, I had no receive and no TX power output. Removing the top of the rig and resetting the bad cable fixed the problem. While I was at it I also reseated all of the TMP cables to/from the KREF3 and both synthesizers. The KXV3B went in without a hitch - no problems with pin length or board height. I inserted the KXV3B pins all the way into J66 then allowed the board to rotate toward the back panel and adjusted its final height as appropriate to align the mounting bushings with the screw holes and the rear (cover) panel. Preamp 2 appears to be somewhat more sensitive than the PR6/KXV3 that was replaced. A quick test with the XG3 and P3 on six meters shows the -108 dBm signal to be approximately 42 dB above the noise floor which would work out to an MDS of better than -150 dBm in a 500 Hz bandwidth. This compares to approximately -133 dBm with Preamp 1 and -126 dBm with the preamp off. Not shabby in the least. 73, ... Thanks to those who responded. I will try the calibration mentioned by Dave below first. It may do the job. 73 Mike GOD BLESS AMERICA KØAZMike Sanders EM37cd www.k0az.com SouthWest Missouri Don't overlook doing the extended temperature calibration procedure http://www.elecraft.com/manual/KX3%20Custom%20VFO%20TC%20rev%20A9.pdf I've done it on a small number of KX3's and the improvement in thermal stability is considerable. If you haven't run it before, it's time consuming so be patient and be prepared to re-run it as it's easy to make a small mistake. I also had issues with getting it to work on one of the KX3's (mine, naturally) after running straight through on the others. It couldn't all have been finger trouble, but after multiple, patient re-runs, it went through and my KX3 is now remarkably stable over a wide temperature range. It was well worth the effort. Re: [Elecraft] Limit topics in email
Elecraft has done a fantastic job with this mailing list. I also agree with the response below. This email reflector is one of the selling points for Elecraft in general and the help it provides. I know of no other company past or present that has done a job this good on continued customer service. I do not often post but I read everyday and spend most of the time deleting way off topic posts. They drone on and on without end. A small amount of restraint in keeping the posts at least close to Elecraft as a subject would be good. Anything that would harm the existence or longevity of this reflector would be a very bad thing and would harm Elecraft itself. Personally I would not want to see that happen. 73 KØAZMike Sanders EM37cd www.k0az.com SouthWest Missouri > I disagree wholeheartedly. Re: [Elecraft] David Cole...756ProIII vs K3
I agree with Tom. I had a PROIII and then the K3. Both of these radios are here for the duration. As Tom says my K3 cost over twice what the PROIII does especially including the P3/SVGA. However I always said I thought the PROIII was the best bang for buck buy in ham radio these days. I can find strengths in both radios over the other. So I am lucky to have both in front of me. The truth is I am still learning good things about both of these rigs every day. Elecrafts track record on support tells me they will be with me and my K3 for a long time. This is a huge value consideration over other makers. I think Elecraft is pretty unique in that regard and this reflector is another factor in choice. It is a tough call if money is no object but if money is a factor (Isn't it always?) a good used PROIII is a good choice in my opinion. I bought mine new on a special special Dayton weekend some years back and paid 2.2k for it NIB from a major seller. This was just before they closed them out. If it is a new country the K3 gets the call every time. My advice...keep the ProIII & buy a K3 too...that's what I did. When the K3 first came out, there was a waiting list to get one. I'm not one to wait on much of anything I want to buy and so I bought a ProIII instead. I love my ProIII and decided it was probably the smart move reasoning that the K3 would likely have several (or more) "issues" & changes as time went by. The ProIII was fairly well refined by that point in time & it turned out that I was correct about the K3. I may get some static for this but I think both radios are pretty close in performance...at least as judged by my "human" ear. I filled all the slots in the K3 with the various 8 pole Inrad filters too. I like both radios just fine and would have very much regretted selling my ProIII. My K3 is a mid 3K serial number which I spent about $3K on and that was well before the price increases. The ProIII has been discontinued (obviously) by Icom now but...back in the day...I think you got more bang for your buck w ith the Icom. Again, my 2cents...don't sell it, you WILL regret it. Re: [Elecraft] OT: Installing PL-259's
Another tip regarding soldering connectors or anything else for that matter. Use 63/37 mix solder AKA Eutectic. It has a one degree plastic point and helps prevent cold solder joints. Said before you must use enough heat on any joint but this solder mix will help. Another Motorola initiative I have used Eutectic for 25 years or so now. 73 K0AZ Mike Sanders EM37cd SW Missouri www.k0az.com -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of AG0N-3055 Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 9:51 AM To: elecraft Subject: Re: [Elecraft] OT: Installing PL-259's On Mon, 11 Nov 2013 22:23:37 -0800, Frank Precissi wrote: > Glad this topic came up, because im about to redo all my pre-made > cables and its one of those topics that people like me are afraid to > ask because they are sorta newbie-ish (cue the "You should have > learned this before you got your ticket" grumps). > > What is your opinion of this method: > > http://www.k3lr.com/engineering/pl259/ I wouldn't touch that method with a (your) ten foot pole. You have a very weak point at the point of entry into the PL. A few flexes of the coax, and your shield will be broken and non-existent. Solder through the holes and allow the black sheath to reinforcingly hold the coax in the connector. It should only be trimmed back far enough to clear the holes. I've never been able to use the tinned shield method. Too many stray wires, and/or too large to freely enter the center of the connector without catching. I also don't like the idea of enlarging the holes in the PL, although that seems the least undesirable of the things people have mentioned. If you do, at least make sure there are no burrs on the inside to catch the braid as you thread the coax into the hole. While on the subject, someone mentioned not being able to get the tip of the gun (I use a gun) into the channel where the holes are. Why not? My 300+ watt tip isn't that large. It should fit fine. You do NOT put the tip into the holes themselves. You heat the outer until the folder will freely flow between outer, shield, and (if using one) UG reducer. Make sure solder is FLOWING, not just sitting there stuck on some piece of flux or something. It should flow from one hole to the next IN the shield. Someone mentioned the word waterproof. PLs are NOT waterproof. The best you can do is to make sure moisture can't get into your connection on either side of your connector. Fully seal several inches either side, multiple layers. I haven't used it in years, but I used to use Scotch Kote. A layer of 33 or 88 tape, Scotch Kote, and another layer of tape, each one extending beyond the last layer does a pretty good job and you'll pull brand new connections out of it 10-20 years later. Re: [Elecraft] Proper installation of PL 259's
I and several others in this area have been using the Flex Seal or something like that on connectors for 4 or 5 years now. Spray can or paint on both work very well. Have had no or heard of any failures or problems using this stuff. I now use it on all mechanical points on antennas that have a bolt/nut type of arrangement. No nuts backing out from vibration etc. If you have to open up the connector or joint the stuff comes off cleanly. The best guys in the business can make a bad connector from time to time. My best advice would be to take your time when doing any connectors. I also use crimp connectors on all jumpers that are in use indoors. A good quality tool is essential. I think someone mentioned before to start with a dry connector and keep it that way through the process. Do not use any silicon grease inside any connector for any reason even if Andrews tells you to. Just do not do it. 73 K0AZ Mike Sanders EM37cd SW Missouri www.k0az.com -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of W0WFH Bill Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 7:43 AM To: elecraft forum Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Proper installation of PL 259's As far as water proof... no connector not PL 259 crimp or solder are water proof without doing a good tape job or using some of the spray on rubber sealant. Some people's sweet spot may be 700 Hz-- since 432 Hz may be 20 db down from there! There was a link somebody posted a year or so ago. It could be used determined how much pitch difference one can detect. For most people is >3 Hz. For piano tuners and musicians with perfect pitch it is likely to be less. You can also try using the K3's fine tuning and tune in a carrier. The increase or decrease the K3's frequency by 3Hz and see if you can detect any change. Thus most won't perceive any difference between 429.97 and 432 Hz. If you can, than congratulations on your perfect pitch. 73 de Brian/K3KO On 10/13/2013 14:03, John Seney wrote: > Hi Folks: > > The CW pitch resolution in my K3 seems to be 10 Hz per step. Re: [Elecraft] O.T.: End of (another) era
I guarded 500Kc and 2182 back in the Mid 60s. Sometime about 1966 we did some VHF road testing. Brand new and we thought it would be in use much quicker than it was. I really do not know why people are talking about the demise of CW in ham radio. If your listening to the bands listen to 20 SSB and tell me the amount of traffic is not down. All you need to do for either CW or SSB is put a rare DX entity on the air or a contest then try to squeeze in edgewise. I know younger hams who are working on learning the code and other young hams who are working on getting their speed up. CW is not dead yet. Neither is ham radio. Just like 500 and 2182 things change and will change. Use what you have and enjoy it while you can. It was the second one delivered in the US and it had none of the problems that plagued some of the others, I did not have a single issue with it. I had owned some good radios before it but it was the very best receiver and NR that I had ever owned. You may see what seems as negative remarks that I make about it but to the contrary I did like the radio and its ability to work weak signal DX, excellent. With that said when I did buy a used K3 with only a stock filter and a KXV3 in it I did buy a new P3/SVGA to go with it and ran it side by side with my 5000 for over 3 months. At the end of that period I had a list of likes and dislikes between the 2 radios My likes for the K3 were 1st the filtering, Two the ability to add whatever that you wanted to the radio. Three the 2nd receiver same as the first, there were some others like the 2m internal module, 12v operation etc. Dislikes of the K3/FTDX-5000MP the K3 has poor receive on 6/10/12m compared to the 5000's. The layout/form factor of the radio was good plus a 200w unit. I would never discourage anyone from buying a 5000 but feel in the long run the K3 is a better choice. What the deciding factor that sold me on an Elecraft shack goes back to the used K3 I bought. It had 2 side panel screws missing so called to order them, when I did was told that 3 would be shipped "No Charge" that was a 1st for me also above and beyond. There are very few companies in this world that will support a used multi-owner radio much less to the detail that Elecraft does and did on my first used K3. That single item brought at least a 55% consideration on what I would purchase in the future as far as to products they offered. When the K3 became a solid player in the shack I bought and built a K2 then sold the 5000 and bought a complete Elecraft Station another K3 (loaded one this time) with every option plus a few other items in their lineup. So far they have NEVER disappointed me in any way, just great people there who seem to like to come to work every day and be a "people person". __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Greetings All, Well I have just installed a sub RX in a late K3 (67xx). Before I go back into the radio and quadruple check my work I just have to ask if I am missing something in config. I have audio and control of the sub RX and can even hear signals through it but very very weak compared to the Main. All seems OK but just very poor RX. I have selected the ATU as source of antenna and have my connections there. (I will go in later and see if I have any thing mis/dis connected). Am I missing something in config? I have two filters installed in the sub and NO BPF. No error messages and again it seems to respond to everything input to it. Even receives just poorly. Thanks for any help. 73, Mike Mike Sanders KØAZ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] PT0S
Well said Howie. My K3 was driving a PW1 to a KW out and the beams are all up 60 or 70 feet. I did work them a couple times but to say it was difficult would be an understatement. I make mistakes all the time especially with respect to splits. It happens but what you speak of is deliberate of course. Working them gave me a new one on CW #323 so it was pretty important to me. All the complaints about the operation do put US into perspective and all the explanations from them do put the SEVERE conditions in the forefront. Everyone should have known when K3s fail in short order the environment must be extremely bad and certainly not the comfortable climate controlled shack my fat behind and K3 occupy as you mentioned. Lets give these guys the benefit of the doubt and praise them for a seriously major undertaking. After all they were fighting the elements more than the pile ups. I am just glad they had K3s with their very poor receiving conditions. Kudos from me to the PTOS guys for an incredible effort and to their K3s for just being K3s. Your also right about the vast majority of ops keeping their composure. It only took a few to make it look ugly as you said. 73 Mike Sanders KOAZ -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of Howard Hoyt Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 17:28 PM To: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] PT0S Fred/N0AZZ said: >>Some people do well using a dummy load. Re: [Elecraft] CW Decoding - Your Brain is best
Someone was on the right track. Why all the systems and methods? Just get on the air and use it. That is how we actually did it back when. We used CW as a primary mode for the most part. We learned how to use it and improved by doing it on the air. Anyway I want to talk about CW, CW decode on the K3, The P3/SVGA and keyboard and CW decode and send using all of the above. I was watching some CW stations on the monitor RX window while having Text Dec turned on. I got to messing with the NR, Audio filter and such. It all makes a difference in getting better decode. Anyway I got to thinking how good it actually was and how it could help those who do not do CW because of a million reasons including age and hearing losses or problems. Having a couple of the memories on CW set up a non code person could use the K3/P3/SVGA/Nice size monitor to actually work CW at any speed. This especially in contests where the keying is usually "machine" memory sent and the exchange is minimal. A person could easily make QSOs using the programmed memories. Tune in a station on the monitor or K3 display. Find that you need that one for whatever award/s and you want to work him. Follow his activity and when he breaks for another station hit M1 on the K3 sending out your call. Watch the monitor for him to respond to you. If he does he sends 599 0123 K. You hit M2 on the K3 which sends RR 5NN TU and you have a valid DX style contact. Not a rag chew of course but in the log and on the wall. Of course that is as minimal as it gets but it works to work a new one and a new mode for the contest or just the award/s you want. Really think about it for a minute. Lots of rigs can do it but the K3 does it well. They don't even advertise CW operation for non CW types.8>) but it's there. 73 es GL ...6M DXCC #436 132/132 "It ain't easy bein a ZERO". Re: [Elecraft] K3 Speaker buzz - But which external speaker ?
I have been reading this thread backwards. My K3 inherited the West Mountain COMspkr pair as they were here and used with a West Mountain RigBlaster Duo on 2 Icom Rigs. I have something on top of the internal speaker so need something external. When I put the K3 in line they were there. No problems at all. I have a MicroKeyer II that I am going to try out with the K3 and see what it might do for me so will have to find another speaker source. It will probably be another COMspkr as I have some knowledge of them and used them for several years now with no issues. Then there will be the YCCC 4X interface that is waiting to be built and tested. But the COMspkr works for me. To each his own I guess. 73 Mike Sanders KOAZ -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of Fred Smith Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2012 16:01 PM To: 'drewko'; Elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 Speaker buzz - But which external speaker ? Re: [Elecraft] K3 - what power supply are you using?
I have been using a commercial switching power supply for many years. It is a Power Source bolted to the back of my desk. 45 amp is what it says. Been on 24/7 365 for over 12 years. In this location. It was used for years before this set up. Thought I had a problem with it some months back but found out it was fine. The multi Anderson power pole outlet strip was poorly constructed and causing a serious voltage drop to the gear. I cleaned up lots of solder slag, bad joints and mechanical connections and the strip is back in service with the old supply. I had hundreds of these supplies in commercial service many years ago and rarely had a failure. I am using it to run an Icom 756PROIII, K3/P3SVGA, K2/10 K2/100, 2 Elecraft transverters and a KAT100 tuner. The K3 and K2s are pretty well loaded. Several accessories hang off this supply set up. I never hear it and have never noticed noise from it. It got a break of about 6 months several years ago when I ran the station off 4 batteries and some Harbour Freight solar panel sets. It worked but my operating is enough that I needed to supplement the solar with some wind and increase the solar capability. Hoping that this will be in place next Spring. In the interim the old trusty 45A Power Source just keeps on working. Years ago there were some problems with the Astron analog supplies on certain ham bands. 40 meters if I remember. RF would shut the supply down. There was voltage but no current capability. A turn off and turn on would fix it till the next time. Also, I agree about the fans in the SS25/30M switchers. Never noticed any RF hash but the fan noise was an issue. 73, Mike K0AZ Mike Sanders KOAZ - No virus found in this message. Re: [Elecraft] I thought Elecraft was a household name!
Tony there are a few members of MVDXCC down in SWMO who are only too familiar with Elecraft. One of our guys is a cheerleading owner of the FT5000 and has just received a "new" K3. He is impressed at first impression stage but will need more time to make a real evaluation of it for himself. Myself and one other Elecraft/MVDXCC guy both are saving our nickels and dimes for a K3. I am even selling off a lot of stuff surplus to today's needs and will eventually have a K3 to go with 2 K2s and a K1. When someone says Mike was/is impressed others ask the question "WHAT!!!???" I made comment yesterday at our regular Saturday morning breakfast that in the last year or two I have been impressed several times. Then added each time it was due to an Elecraft product performance. One of the Hogs gave me my Novice test back in early 59. You will know him as GSV from W0 buro fame. So even some OTs can appreciate a winner. Elecraft has been around long enough to not be an upstart any more. They have been around long enough to give us pride in another American company. In the upcoming pile ups if you hear me in there banging away it will be using an Elecraft. Once said many moons ago "If you can't hear em you can't work em". Now days I hear em better with my trusty Elecraft K2. I am told the K3 is even better. I don't think the guys who are Elecraft fans are a cult. I think they are folks who can appreciate success. I know I do. GL in the pileups Tony. Tell all the Hogs up there hi for us down here. 73, Mike Mike Sanders KOAZ -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of Tony Estep Sent: Sunday, July 15, 2012 14:12 PM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] I thought Elecraft was a household name! I belong to a DX club (www.mvdxcc.org) whose membership includes 29 guys on the Honor Roll (over 330 countries confirmed). Many if not most of those guys have the same FT1000D that they got 20 years ago. When the ARRL's reviews began to emphasize dynamic range and the little kit-built K2 showed up ahead of most of the standard DX radios of the day, Elecraft suddenly appeared on the radar of some DXers. But of course many held out for a dual-receiver radio. The arrival of the K3 brought a burst of interest in our club; there are now maybe a half-dozen members who have K3s. Some of those guys will never get another radio in their lives, but among those who do, I would say that the K3 is the first choice, even ahead of the FT5000DX. The members who have K3s miss no opportunity to tout its excellent performance, easy portability, great service and generally fine user experience. But it's a slow process to win over the old-timers! [Elecraft] FW: Happy But Very Sad

I have no S/N or S/N+N ratio reading with the device I am using in my hamshack. MDS? The IFR 1200 series of service monitors are calibrated down to .1 microvolt and down to -120 dbm at just over .2 microvolt. There is a "fine" tuning on a ring around the attenuator switch that allows for excursions up or down in signal level. MDS? I had the attenuator at .1 microvolt and the fine tune all the way down but still could not lose the signal. My comment ABOUT -130dbm was a guess. When I bottomed out the attenuator I still had a USUABLE SIGNAL that I could have worked. That being said and all the guesses and assumptions I am making tell me that these transverters are hot. This is not a laboratory it's just a ham shack. I am very happy with the performance of these transverters. 73 Mike Sanders KØAZ -Original Message- From: Brian Alsop [mailto:als...@nc.rr.com] Sent: Friday, June 22, 2012 9:45 AM To: Mike Sanders Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Happy But Very Sad Mike, 0.1 uV for what S/N? Re: [Elecraft] Happy But Very Sad
6 Meters? I have 2 K2s one 10W unit and 1 100W unit. Both are pretty well loaded up. I just bought a 6 and 2 meter Elecraft transverter used. Got them on the bench yesterday and finally working after I corrected a problem I made. Anyway I have used a lot of radios on 6, 2 and beyond for a long time. Also a lot of good IF radios with good transverters. The XV50 and XV144 are about as good as I have seen or used. Yesterday I measured the RX sensitivity on an IFR1200 super S at .1 microvolt and well less than that for a usable signal on CW. That is about -130db. I think I will enjoy using these Elecraft Tvrtrs. They both did rated output easily and can drive external amplifiers. Please do not take my RX measurements as gospel but I am pretty sure they are very close to what I found with this service monitor. Obviously your mileage may vary. So my 756PROIII and 746PRO may not see much 6 or 2 meter use in the future. With the 100W K2 driving the PW1 they may not see much use at all..73 Mike Sanders KOAZ -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of Jason Hissong Sent: Friday, June 22, 2012 8:39 AM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Happy But Very Sad Sell the 950 and use the proceeds to get all the additional options for your K2 (or maybe a nice chunk of change to save for a K3). Re: [Elecraft] HAM GATHERING SIGNATURES ON PETITION TO VOID ANTENNAPROHIBITIONS
I live out of town on 40 acres. My two towers are in easy view of a state highway out front. They can be seen for over a mile. Around here my towers and antennas are landmarks. It's nice to have a little antenna farm and have it appreciated by others...8>) Used to live in a sub division that had a nuisance ordinance. They were up in arms about a little 40 foot Rohn with a tribander and couple v/uhf antennas above. The crack pro next door who was in and out her place all night long with various johns was obviously not as much a nuisance as I was. Not to mention her brother who was arrested 26 times in one year. The cops were there a few times a month for one thing or another. Amazing how these control freaks disappear when something really unsavory shows up. One of the freaks called me out one night with a pistol in his back pocket. A brief conversation with him resulted in me not getting shot and him never getting very close to me again..8>) I truly sympathize with those fighting antenna restrictions. I lived that life most of mine. Now I consider myself a lucky guy. My closest neighbor is just over a quarter mile away. And what great folks they are. GL es 73 all. My experience with these things, is that it ends up having virtually nothing to do with home values. The typical "no radio transmitters allowed" clauses would ban garage door openers, cell phones, and Wifi, but they don't of course. HA's bring out the worst in the power hungry individuals and control freaks who typically populate them, and who would be happy to foreclose on your house because the color of your awnings offend them personally. I'd love to see the FeeCee tell these groups to pound sand. As much as we scream about "freedom", we seem to be willing to give it up anytime time abrogation is offered. I suspect the NRA would be willing to go broke supporting any homeowner who wanted to put a 16" gun turret on his roof as a 2nd Amendment right, but of course an antenna of any kind is a problem :) (I suspect this is going to hit "end of thread" any minute):) __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html - No virus found in this message. Yes, I built the Elecraft cable with the I/O kit and used a FTDI chipset serial to usb cable with it with no issues. Use it often on digital modes. Prolific chipset serial to usb cable did not work.
