Outlook Issue

2009-12-21 Thread Bill Lambert
Hello all...

I have a user connecting to our E2K3 via Outlook 2003 using HTTPS over
RPC. When she goes to Tools/Out of Office Assistant, she get prompted
to login over and over. All setting show she is connected to Exchange.
Couldn't find anything on Google specific to this problem. Anyone have
any ideas?

Thanks!

Weird outlook issue

2009-02-06 Thread James Kerr
This is occuring on my PC only from what I can tell. When I try to send an
email that has a hyperlink, it will not leave my outbox. For example, I type
www.google.com and hit enter and try to send, the email goes to my outbox
and stays in italics for a fraction of a second then reverts to reguler text
and it won't send. If someone sends me an email with the same url, I can
reply to that person with the url included in the email and it works fine. I
dont see any errors in the event logs on either exchange or my PC. Anyone
have any ideas?

2009-02-06 Thread Louis, Joe
Is it a recent version of Outlook? We had that problem with a PC a couple week
ago. Turned out the PC had O2k. Updating to O2k3 resolved the issue.

Perhaps an issue with a new email template?

Okay, I used to think my users were crazy. Scratch that.. I still think
they're crazy, but some weird things are going on with multiple people, so I
don't think it's just a simple user screwed up issue.

For the past few months, several users have been having issues in Outlook
(2003) where they either start a new email, or hit reply, and it ADDS an
address to the To: field at random. It seems to be an address that an email
was previously sent to from that account.

What's bad is that it happens with customers. So, for example:

 1. I send an email to, say, Joe, talking about how we're having
trouble with a job for customer A.

 2. Joe replies to my email, yet somehow, a random email address
(typically another customer, like customer B) is magically added to the To
 field.

 3. Customer B replies with a WTH??? email.

 4. People look at me with extreme frustration

Any ideas what could be causing this? I don't think it's that they're
accidentally hitting a key and it's using autocomplete to put a name in. The
user that it happened to twice today swore that she checked the To field
several times before sending the second email where this occurred (because
obviously she was very nervous after it happened the first time.)

 Thanks,

 Evan

Outlook Issue?

2008-08-25 Thread David L Herrick

Often when sending an email from within Excel or Word 2007 everything
works except the email never leaves the screen, after hitting the send
button. I can go to sent folders and it was emailed but I have to close
the Outlook form manually. Ideas?

Thanks

I guess I could try that, but I'd rather not because the users really like
to use that feature for easy addressing of emails. It seems like it may or
may not be related to that, as we used the autofill option for several years
 without these issues.

It just seems to weird that they can send an email without the extra address
showing up in the To: field, and then it's somehow added when the email is
 sent.

Close Outlook and delete the .nk2 file on the PC. See if the issue persists

 1. I send an email to, say, Joe, talking about how we're having trouble
with a job for customer A.

 Thanks,

 Evan

The default should be to not discard customized settings, but like I

If you forward the blank email from your problem user to you, can you
read it? I had that same problem with a couple of people and after
taking a closer look it really wasn't blank but a very faint yellow that
you could hardly see. Look in Outlook, tools\options\mail format. Then
check the stationary and fonts to see if the reply font color is set to
 yellow.

I thought I sent this request for help last week, but perhaps it slipped
my mind and I forgot to click Send. So, since I didn't receive a
single response, perhaps just one more time. I have researched this and
found nothing helpful using google, so I hope someone here can lead me
in the right direction. I'm tempted to just run a Detect and Repair or
a complete uninstall reinstall, but hopefully these may be a better
 solution. So here goes:

We are using Exchange Server 2003 along with Outlook 2003 and OWA. I
have one user who is having a problem with just one individual that she
corresponds with on a regular basis. It seems that when she gets a REPLY
(not an original email) from that one individual, it's always blank.
Same thing if we open the reply in Outlook Web Access. Yet, if the
individual responds to other members of our staff, the reply comes thru
just fine. My user is using HTML. We also tried using cc, and when I was
cc'd , the reply to me was also blank. Any ideas would be greatly
 appreciated

Same thing if we open the reply in Outlook Web Access.

Sounds like it might be a case of aggressive content filtering. Just
today, on another list, someone posted about a system that was altering
style tags.

In OWA you should be able to easily look at the message source and see if
this is the case. Also, check out the headers and see if the MIME related

Same thing if we open the reply in Outlook Web Access.

Sounds like it might be a case of aggressive content filtering. Just
today, on another list, someone posted about a system that was altering
style tags.

In OWA you should be able to easily look at the message source and see
if this is the case. Also, check out the headers and see if the MIME
related ones are correct.

I would have both clients check their settings on the way they have set
their contact up. Could be they selected the ALWAYS SEND EMAIL TO THIS
CONTACT IN My incorrectly chosen FORMAT sort of setting...

This can be found on the properties of the SMTP in the contact...

have
to say?

They both have SIZE parameters.

Have you done View - Options to see what the message headers have to

Thanks for the replies. Let me add some additional info. My user is
communicating with an individual with another company that uses
Groupwise. If that person replies to a message from any other member of
our staff, there is NO problem, the text is there. . When we look in
OWA, same problem, blank. When I was cc'd on the original email from my
staff user, on the reply to both of us, my reply was also blank. Yet if
I originate the email, the reply is just fine. It appears the problem is
in the profile of my one user.

RE: HELP ON OUTLOOK ISSUE

2008-04-30 Thread TechInfo
If you forward the blank email from your problem user to you, can you
read it? I had that same problem with a couple of people and after
taking a closer look it really wasn't blank but a very faint yellow that
you could hardly see. Look in Outlook, tools\options\mail format. Then
check the stationary and fonts to see if the reply font color is set to
yellow.

Subject: HELP ON OUTLOOK ISSUE

Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated

- delete it then resync to recreate it and it should fix the issue.

Hello-
Exchange 2K, Outlook 2K, user VPNs from cable ISDN connection, no problems
until last week! When she goes to delete certain mail items, message says
item cannot be deleted because it was either moved or deleted already!
TechNet says to let Outlook and Exchange work it out over time and that
someone else may be using the mailbox (that is NOT happening).
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q195/8/63.ASP
It's been 5 days and still the same issue. Also, in the deleted items
folder it says there are 7 unread items in the Outlook bar icon but when you
click on the folder it says 0 items. Has anyone seen this? Is this Mailbox
corruption?? Thanks for any and all help. Andy

Yes, it could be a problem in the mailbox. Anything in the app event log
