I remember differently. I was struck, actually appalled, at the time, that Bob
was siding with Barry on this one. On the other hand, I can see my memory is
not consistent with everyone else's view of Bob, so no need to continue this.
Hope everyone is feeling better now.:-)

I am always surprised when people react to perfectly
good words as if they were somehow offensive. When it
comes to the word moist, that surprise turns to
 befuddlement.

As Barry knows perfectly well, the reaction was to the
idea expressed in the post, not to the word itself.

I can understand when women overreact
to it out of self-gender hatred,

Very few women these days react to anything out of
self-gender hatred, much as it may satisfy Barry's
fear and hatred of women to think so.

 but guys???!!!

Guys who have some sensitivity. Of course that would
befuddle Barry.

 But you're not alone:

As for wondering whether the word can still apply in

Also, I've never made any reference to his wife and

mentioned something about bathtubs and spitting out sesame seed oil.

My theory on Doctor Dumbass is that he's been channeling

However, little god-impersonating spirits are more troublesome

Yeah, peace is always a good thing - I finally got the tree up a few days ago.
I have long taken delight in finding unusual x-mas tree ornaments, so the tree
always has a few surprises lurking within its branches. Unlike Christmases
past, when I would have to drive over and pick up my daughter at 5:30 AM(!)
from her mom's house, she is all grown up, and will arrive here at the
civilized hour of 9, later this morning - Merry Christmas to you, and FFL!

[FairfieldLife] Re: Happy Christmas FFL

2012-12-25 Thread doctordumbass
Its a good point - Particularly here, on a forum where few if any of us have a
relationship, or even acquaintance, with each other, living in the material
world (thanks, George...). How do we discern when challenged, whether or not
the challenge is coming from a place of love, or condemnation?

I certainly have been at both the giving and receiving end of the latter, where
the object is solely protection - like a dog barking to protect its territory.
Enforcing boundaries, vs. examining them.

Nowadays, I try to examine and challenge boundaries that I notice here, with
the expectation that anyone else can do the same with me (though there is NO
way I can guarantee my answer will be acceptable to them...). So, when asking
Bob about his past statement, it comes from a place of acceptance, rather than
condemnation - acceptance, love if you will, of his true and generous nature.
That is why I asked about the past expression, because it doesn't fit for me. I
didn't necessarily expect an answer, though I simply had to ask the question.

The last consulting gig I did was to develop field training for natural gas
distribution line maintenance, emergency dispatch, and a process called hot
tanking, where a residential customer's natural gas supply is switched over to
a tank of natural gas, pressurized to 1800 psi, during service interruptions.
The point of mentioning this, is natural gas is quite explosive, and during any
number of discussions with gas company personnel, things would occasionally get
pretty heated. But not because someone was trying to ram their agenda through,
rather because lives were on the line depending on how certain decisions were
being made.

Although the consequences are not nearly as serious here, my often provocative
style is much more to further the topic at hand, than close it down.

PS Merry Christmas!!

Dear Doctor Dumbass,

A belated Happy Christmas.

I'm in the middle of a tribal gathering so I may be a bit
slow in responding fully to your inquiry; among other activities, I'm presently
attempting to keep my Jack Russell from burying my favorite gift from a Santa in
the garden (VEGAN COOKING FOR CARNIVORES-over 125 recipes so tasty you
won't miss the meat).

The question of moisture and women (and cake for that
matter) is an important one, and I believe it deserves a considered response; I
want to give it my all, so please be patient, I'll get back to you. In the
meantime, I don't remember communicating with a Doctor Dumbass

during my last visit; can you help me out?

No, no Bob, this is a distinction you made to me, awhile back, regarding your
absolute preference for the *moistness* of a younger woman - someone
thirty-ish, was I believe your cut off point. You weren't talking about cake,

Oh dear Bob,
How well you know me. You hit home with this gift. Just he was missing his
Harley and Christian Church banner and red home!  Engelbert reminds me of
England and Humperdinck reminds me of...humping on a dinky?
Ravi enticed you with his beautiful welcoming me back and all I can say, you
are like Santa and please ask your wife if it is okay that I sit on your lap?
I prefer that the wife is okay with it first, because she is who controls who
is in the dog house or not for the winter.  Mrs. Bob, please may I sit in your
presence and ask Santa for a wish?   I wish to be enlightened and have one man
in my life and heart and the rest all in my head?  Thank you for sharing, I
love that song!
Ravi, you are not jealous are you? You are the first. :)

get back to me. Technology has a remedy for almost anything.:-) Oh, and Merry

Missing the point as always, poor Barry. Because you need an explanation, poor
dear, no one is reacting to the word 'moist'. From my end I was surprised the
good Dr. was bringing up something, seemingly out of the blue, that was
obviously at least a year old. You guys can talk about pussies and moistness or
lack thereof as much as your hearts, and libidos, desire. I was just a little
surprised the Doc seemed to be picking a small fight, but he obviously has
history with Jim that I am not aware of. However, be my guest, you can talk

Juicy is a good synonym for moist that also contains a psychological

Dear Bob,
We have yet to meet as you were no longer posting when I hopped aboard FFL. But
if this written 'offering', these 'gifts', are anything to go by I certainly
hope you stick around posting, not just reading!
'My' Bernini piece is astounding and I have only watched a mere 16:34 worth. As
a man and as an artist Bernini just thrills me to the bone. Having graduated
with an art major, I am familiar with his work but this particular documentary
is exceptional and the camera work captures the power and tactile nature of the
marble, truly extraordinary. This appears to be a man who felt so deeply he was
able to restructure marble with his very intention and his zest for life, his
understanding of energy and force of emotion. Brilliant.
I will continue to watch the rest today as a highlight of my afternoon. Thank
you again and have a magnificent Christmastime.

Robin,

Thank you for your warm response, I'm always impressed by
the way you fearlessly share your experience and insight, despite the envy and
resentment directed your way by some; if I was limited to one word to describe
you,
I would say you're *original* (a found gift IMHO). Like Ravi, and many others
on FFL, those who say we must be your followers, if we think of you as a
friend, amuse me; in 40+ years of commercial traveling, I've met few people who
are selling their wares less than you are.

Steve: Bob Price has a video for you for Christmas too. You should see it. It's

Did you actually listen to the conversation here, Steve? I need to know.

It was just an intuitive judgment based upon having enjoyed every word of that

But believe me: have a look at Santa's video.

And Merry Christmas, Steve. The one-liner temptation, it usually is funny on

That's me being defensive, Steve.

Don't select what you think you can say something to, Steve; take in

inside of you; that way, you will have something a little more in your song.

We love you anyhow.

Truth for me, Stevie, is a moment-to-moment thing. If you really meant that I
misinterpreted Santa's present to authfriend, give us your interpretation.

Ann,

Thank you for your response, I'm pleased you liked the
documentary. I've enjoyed reading your posts, and got the impression you like
to dance; like architecture, I see sculpture as a performance art, and no one
did it better than Bernini. Are you familiar with the Performing Arts Center in
Abu Dhabi; the architect, Zaha Hadid, is a very talented lady.

Dear Bob,
We have yet to meet as you were no longer posting when I hopped aboard FFL. But
if this written 'offering', these 'gifts', are anything to go by I certainly
hope you stick around posting, not just reading!

2012-12-23 Thread obbajeeba

 Ann,

Thank you for your response, I'm pleased you liked the
documentary. I've enjoyed reading your posts, and got the impression you like
to dance; like architecture, I see sculpture as a performance art, and no one
did it better than Bernini. Are you familiar with the Performing Arts Center
 in
Abu Dhabi; the architect, Zaha Hadid, is a very talented lady.

No I have not seen this amazing looking 'creature' called the Performing Arts
Center but a creature or, at least, a part of some science fiction organic
substance is what it most resembles. Very smooth and sinewy and seemingly
carbon based.

And I am not sure how you know about my dancing thing but, yes, I have been
known to cut a rug or two in my day. It must be that visceral thing that I am
so fond of (a la Bernini) and I certainly love that primal drum beat.

The process of creating sculpture is an interaction with matter and form that
is 3D so it becomes performance. The artist has to dance their way around the
raw material to transform it.

Thanks again for linking me to Bernini and that wonderful narrator and
performer Simon Schama who did such a colourful job of presenting the material.
I plan to watch the entire series now.

 Dear Bob,
We have yet to meet as you were no longer posting when I hopped aboard FFL.
But if this written 'offering', these 'gifts', are anything to go by I
certainly hope you stick around posting, not just reading!
'My' Bernini piece is astounding and I have only watched a mere 16:34 worth.
As a man and as an artist Bernini just thrills me to the bone. Having
graduated with an art major, I am familiar with his work but this particular
documentary is exceptional and the camera work captures the power and tactile
nature of the marble, truly extraordinary. This appears to be a man who felt
so deeply he was able to restructure marble with his very intention and his
zest for life, his understanding of energy and force of emotion. Brilliant.
I will continue to watch the rest today as a highlight of my afternoon. Thank
you again and have a magnificent Christmastime.

No, no Bob, this is a distinction you made to me, awhile back, regarding your

you were talking about *pussy*. Remember?

Wha-ho, what is this? Some old historical remnant being brought forth? Maybe we
should let the subject of moistness just drop seeing as whatever anyone was
talking about was at least 11 months ago. Whadya say Doc? It's almost Christmas.

Hey, Bob: Marvellous to hear from you. I have only got through the first video
to TURQB--but it says everything I could ever conceive of saying to him, and if
he ever gets his mind around that video (and how perfectly it speaks to him) I
will take Jesus as my saviour. No one has addressed Barry as brilliantly as
this. This might just be the most apposite video ever posted on FFL. I
certainly think it the funniest. It is the metaphysical video I would send to
Barry were I to try to tell him EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED TO TELL HIM. I
think no one need send another post--critically--to Mr Wright. But only those
who really know Barry will get it. It is heavenly--and not incompatible with
loving the Holland guy. This is irony beyond where I have ever gone. But irony
only in the service of truth. It was made for TURQB.

I will now look at your other videos, Mozart. I am sure no one has more
carefully chosen their Christmas gifts than you have here.

There is a Santa, Curtis. This proves it.

And if you don't laugh (in the context of knowing Barry) you are either
dumb--or dishonest.

I listened to all twenty-five minutes and thirty seconds--the genius of this in
relation to person for whom it is a true Christmas gift--this goes beyond what
can be told. But I feel I got it. Tubular Bells Part is what love wants to do
for LK--but he will (likely) react strongly to this implication that someone
can know him this well. What thoughtfulness and discrimination went into the
choosing of this. There is even the chance for a momentary Merry Christmas
here--for LK. I ain't this sensitive--I mean to find this. But does it ever
make it. I *understand* this.

BOB!!!

What a treat you've brought us (including a glimpse of
your charming self, even if it's just a quickie).

Thank you so much for the video. I won't have time to
watch the whole thing until after Christmas (I'm getting
ready to go out of town tomorrow), but I took a look at
the first few minutes, and I know I'm going to enjoy it
a lot.

Most cordial wishes to you and The Wife for a superb
holiday. You sure have started ours out with a bang.

The wisdom and beauty of this is inexpressible. I hope that Buck finds it in
his conscience to understand what you are saying to him. If he can do this, and
answer you, I will trust his philosophy--but only if he does as brilliantly
(even just in his sincerity) in his response to this as you have done in
creating this for him. Wow. Your videos are so bloody definitive. The only way
people can answer them is to either 1. ignore them 2. deliberately misrepresent
them. [That is, if the person seeks to deny how they speak to that person.]
What a fabulous Santa you have been to all of us. Let see if anyone can post
something as good as your videos. I doubt it, How about it, Buck? It's

[FairfieldLife] Re: Happy Christmas FFL

2012-12-22 Thread seventhray27

Hey Robin,

You know me. I'm more for the one liners. Maybe you would refer to it
as shooting from the hip. I don't think I can adopt your prescription.
On the other hand, I feel my method of operation works pretty well for
me especially when evaluated by day to day reality. If my speciality
was thinking and philosophy, it might be a different story.

On the other hand, I recall at age 16 going down the the new age book
store, at that time on Euclid Avenue, and purchasing two books - The
Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, and a book by Rudolf Steiner. And
that was followed by probably hundreds of more books along the same
lines. So, I did spend some considerable time delving into traditional
and new age writings

And on the other hand, when I walked outside today after sleeping in,
and feeling the nice chilly air, and seeing the squirrels climbing in
the trees and birds chirping, I felt wonderful.

I would say that is where my mind is these days. Not trying to think
too hard if what I am saying is supported by Reality, or if it is coming
from a place of unadultered Truth. Hell no!
