Hi all.

Someone gave a link to this game yesterday and I signed up for it and 
really like it so far.  I was just wondering, how would go about getting 
magical powers to use?  I didn't see an option for that when I set up my 
character.  I was kind of wondering if joining the adventurer's guild is 
worth the money too ... if anyone's done that and can give what the 
difference is between that and regular playing I wouldn't mind knowing 
about it.  If this is off topic anyone can write me off list.  My e-mail

magic powers are based on your aura and your mind I believe.  if they're 
low, you may not be able to get them.  I never found them overly helpfull. 
I'm a raw strength kind of person.

I think my mind and aura are both 10, or average, but my spirit and body 
are both an 8 I think.  So far I like the game ... it's neat.  It reminds 
me of when I played DandD with a few friends for a little while although it 
didn't last very long.  But that's a long story in itself that it's too 
late to get into at 2:45 in the morning, besides being on list ... smile.

it's definitly a cool game.  I forget the scores that mind and aura have to 
be.  I'm just stuck at a certain point where I can't seem to raise my skills 
at all.  they need some grounds you can walk through and gain experience 
indeffinetly.

Here is the link for  the lone wolf books which I will explain a little of 
here.

The Lone Wolf books were ckind of like the old choose your own adventure 
books back in the day. Only  these are fantasy oriented, and involve a 
combat system so that you actually kind of recreate playing a RPG, or role 
playing game.
The website explains it alot better than I can.
In addition, you can download the  twenty two books and play them off line, 
or play them on line thru the site.
My problem is that the combat system involves a chart that where you compare 
a random generated number which then gives the result of a single round of 
combat. The damage is done simultaneously and is unique.
Brandon had told me about some tolls that can be downloaded that calculates 
the battle as well as keep track of equipment and other things. but so far I 
am not doing too well with it.

Anyway, check it out for yourself and see if you might like it.You have any 
other questions, I can try my best to answer them...

Milo is the most handsome gnu in the world. His mother tells him so 
non-stop. He often asks himself what he's got that the others don't. So Milo

to take part in a beauty pageant for animals. The first prize is a trip to 
Paris. But nothing is going as planned. In the crowd of candidates, Milo 
feels
a little alone. And no longer so handsome. Suddenly, he sees a little 
penguin with his young refrigerator.

GO ON! DON'T GIVE UP, SLUG!
From all appearances, there is a shell; it's a slug and a snail. However,

into the root of dandelion. This self-sacrifice finally blooms a dandelion 
bud
into its full glory.
A moving and lessonful game.

A GIRL BORN WITH A SOUND OF FART
In the island far south, a baby was born with a sound of fart. She grew up 
to be a nice girl and her great fart would often save people from wild 
animals.
Then she was asked to save people from the monster that comes for babies 
when the moon is full. On a full moon night, she set out for the sea to face 
the
monster, with her powerful fart her only leverage.

THE TOILET EXPRESS
Rubbing his sleepy eyes a little boy gets up to pee. But he bumps into the 
toilet that was on his way to an excursion. The toilet says he was late 
already
and could not help him! The chase starts. The boy follows the toilet to the 
station and jumps on the Toilet Express. Dynamic game with that familiar
feeling of holding to go and the relief that follows is humorously 
described.

AREN'T THEY ALL DRUNKEN?
Children always ask adults Why? and one of the most frequently asked 
why? is Why do they drink? This question leads to other questions like 
Why
do their faces turn red? Why do they keep on saying the same thing? What 
happens in their body when they drink? Why they come to themselves after
some hours? No one can readily answer these questions, so in this game, 
let's play with the mystery of alcohol!

Hello.

I have just finished the third part of the Sryth giants story, and now have 
finished all the various quests in the game.

My thoughts on Sryth are as follows:

In my opinion, if you want to start with magical powers, especially more 
than one in the beginning, you should consider joining the Adventurers 
guild.  When you join the AG you can pick from a list of generated 
characters with various skills and powers.  Also the adventurers guild adds 
some incredible content to the game, and the creater keeps adding fresh 
content.

In terms of magical powers being helpful, for me, they didn't start being 
very helpful until my level of mastery was about 35 or 40 in a given power.

Another trick I have found is to not equip yourself with your weapon until 
you get ready to click the begin combat button.  The monsters seem to 
power up based on your melee rating, and since weapons increase the MR I

I almost forgot to say this about magical powers.  Throughout the game, 
there are some adventures that will give your character a magical power 
after you have completed the quest.  Since I am an AG member, I don't know 
if these adventures are only for AG members.

Sure, because those ops i mentioned are the only ones that use dos as 
a op with windows as a shell.
With xp, 2000 and up dos is emulated, and windows is no longer a shell.

there are some quests I apparently haven't uncovered.  shrugs.  I dunno.

I have the same trouble, it really take a lot of work to get your character 
tough enough to really get passed the hard parts, and then even then 
sometimes it's not enough. as in bad luck!

I am sort of at that point too.  I have done all the quests that are 
available to this point, or that I have found anyway.  There are some you 
can find in the random adventures. like one with a dragon egg, but so far I 
think I have done them all and am eagerly waiting for the GM to make new 
quests.

I think my mind and aura are both 10, or average, but my spirit and body
 are both an 8 I think.  So far I like the game ... it's neat.  It reminds
 me of when I played DandD with a few friends for a little while although

I didn't know about the weapon with combat.  I thought I read though that if 
your melee is lower, and you are facing a more difficult enemy, that it 
would make it appear like a harder enemy, then if your melee was higher.  I 
don't know if that made any sense. lol

 I have just finished the third part of the Sryth giants story, and now

 My thoughts on Sryth are as follows:

 In my opinion, if you want to start with magical powers, especially more
 than one in the beginning, you should consider joining the Adventurers
 guild.  When you join the AG you can pick from a list of generated
 characters with various skills and powers.  Also the adventurers guild 
 adds
 some incredible content to the game, and the creater keeps adding fresh
 content.

 In terms of magical powers being helpful, for me, they didn't start being
 very helpful until my level of mastery was about 35 or 40 in a given 
 power.

 Another trick I have found is to not equip yourself with your weapon until
 you get ready to click the begin combat button.  The monsters seem to
 power up based on your melee rating, and since weapons increase the MR I
 have found it helpful not to equip myself with a weapon until the monster
 has already been created.

I have the same trouble, it really take a lot of work to get your character
 tough enough to really get passed the hard parts, and then even then
 sometimes it's not enough. as in bad luck!

[Audyssey] I need some help!

Hey everyone-- 

I need some help.  When I initially signed on to join this list serve, I must 
have typed in my E-mail address without the, @ sign in my E-mail address.  I 
found out about this recently when I went to the website, and attempted to 
change my settings to receive only the digest form of this list. 

I cannot change my setting because the website does not recognize my E-mail 
address with the @ sign in it!  Not at the website, nor even when I click on 
the link on my Audyssey E-mails!  !  Someone help me!

I am writing this part publicly though to say two things.

1. You cannot be subscribed with an invalid email address. This means 
that your email must have an at sign. Your address you are subscribed 
under is:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

So you might want to try that. If you don't know your password there is 
a button there to send you a reminder.

2. Please no one reply on this as it's not games related and it will be

For the life of me I don't understand how anyone blind played this game?

There are times you are required to enter text but I can't seem to get
to any Text Box to enter the info.
I tried to launch a probe to see the unknown universe, but was
unable to change the probes default location of 0,0 to any other
coordinates?
There is an option to see a map..but I don't know where it was on the
screen?
The game manual seems totally awesome, but
I don't see how blind folks play this game?
The version of the game is V2.1D and it would have been great to play
this game online wit other players.

See the thing is, with the exception of the one statue, the rest are 
randomly placed. smiles I have used the map for the one statue and then to 
get to the island. smiles but finding the rest of the statues, is what is 
difficult.

Oh, something else that is irritating is that lists of talwarden. The 
archery quest. oy, I am at level 50 with my archery skill and it still takes 
me forever to beat that one. lol

Now that would be neat ... is there a way you can interact with other 
characters, or is it a one on one type game?  It would be neat if you could 
join up with other characters and go through the game as a group, but I 
don't think you can do that yet.  I'm still trying to finish the main 
adventure before I start on any of the other adventures they offer in each 
location.  I'd get confused otherwise and wonder what I'd done and hadn't 
done, so I figure stick to one thing at a time and do all you can, and then 
go on to something else.

This is off topic but so great I couldn't resist posting it.
If you're using Jjaws 7.1, YOU'LL FIND
A NEW FEATURE AVAILABLE TO YOU.  IF you want to reply directly to the sender
of any message, just press insert+shift+r.  This action will cause your 
reply to be sent directly to the original sender as opposed to the group.
JFW says,
Replying directly to sender.
then it puts the sender's email address into your clipboard and pastes it 
into the to field.
If you did it on this message instead of the to field saying,
Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org
it would say,

Hi, Liam.
In a way there are areas you can do this. Like in the Goblins of 
Westwold adventure you can kill Goblins to your hearts desire until you 
slay Blalak.
I've used that adventure to gain allot of weapons and slashing points to 
build up my skills. Granted it takes a long time to build up this way, 
but the game will generate as many Goblins as it can until you slay Blalak.

Actually, only certain enemies/monsters seam to be based on your mr. 
some monsters like a tarnrat or thornworm can be easily defeated if your 
skills and ratings are up without equipping the weapon after the monster 
is created.
If you are facing some of the bosses or major enemies and then equipping 
a weapon after he/she was created and then that works best.

You can only have one character at a time on the free Sryth adventures. 
Guild members can have up to four. From reading your other posts 
deleteing and recreating your character is a good idea.

[Audyssey] sryth question

Hi all!!!
I rescued the munk and closed the shadow gate then trained with him no problem. 
 How do I go about finding, gralack? (is that his name?) with the granite 
key?  Where do I go for this?  Just trying to find out where I adventure next.
Also, when you become an adventurer's guild subscriber this guy asks you 
questions, and Iam assuming based on your answers you get certain madallions.  
I got the roguish one.  How would I get a warrior one or some other?  Is there 
a site with sryth hints?

There isn't a way really to interact with other players. The only way you 
really compete with them in any way is through the proving ground and that 
is just in the leader board. smiles

I understand forgetting what you do in each place. There is an adventure log 
that keeps track of what you have done, and what quests you are currently 
doing. smiles I think though that is only for AG members. smiles

 Westwold adventure you can kill Goblins to your hearts desire until you
 slay Blalak.
 I've used that adventure to gain allot of weapons and slashing points to
 build up my skills. Granted it takes a long time to build up this way,
 but the game will generate as many Goblins as it can until you slay 
 Blalak.

 The ability to have and use magical powers is totally dependant on how
 you rolled your characters stats. In general your ora, and spirit, rolls
 need to be in the teens or higher. Even then a relm of magic is no good
 until you train it up to skillful or higher.
 For example, my Sryth character is working in the relm of fordification.
 It somewhat worked once I hit level 20, but before that it was about
 useless. By the time fordification hit 30 or so it was useful as a
 power. Until then you need to be skilled in weapons and take on a more
 warlike character. That is why melee and stamina rolls as well as might
 are important for the game.

Yes, I have noticed that with another character of mine. I have 
fortification trained up, and it helps. smiles I love when in a quest you 
have to use one of your skills, like fortification, and it works. smiles 
usually gets you exp for it. smiles Not to mention, usually saves you from 
sustaining damage. grins

Hi, Chris.
You will meet up with a guy in the Stone Back Tavern who wants to higher 
you to reclame his Father's magical sword. It happens to be in Gralak's 
tomb.
Note, you will hav to dispose of some thugs though before you meet up 
with the man who wants to higher you, and you have to have completed the 
Blalak adventure which you have finished him if you have the granit key 
that unlocks the tomb.
Beware yung warrior.  Gralak's tomb is a dangerous place, and his undead 
warriors are nasty fighters.

To find gralack with the granite key, go back to hockler and go into the 
tavern.  In there choose to wonder around thecommon room and you should get 
it from there. smiles
and to get the warriors medallion. the order to answer the questions is as
