[Audyssey] Help with Nintendo We

2007-05-30 Thread Michael Maslo
Hi guys:

Are there any blind people who can get in to we system without help? There
is on the main screen that you have to move the hand to the start button and
then click to be able to pick out games. Is anyone able to do this???

Re: [Audyssey] [Audysse nintendo wii additional help please

2007-05-30 Thread Michael maslo
Hi guys one last question when you going into wii the way it works is you have
to click on start before getting to select a game to play. Does everyone have
to do this? If so how do the blind do it since you have to see where the hand
is before you can even move it and click start. Akso che said when the
controller goes over a menu choice it vibrates how or is there something i have
to do to make that happen? I was playing wit my moms and it didnt do that. Any
help would be appreciated. Also what games have the totals played with some
success?

 Hi Dark,

Although like you I like the board games better on the computer I don't
think that I am going to do another board game next. I would like to try
to do another live action type game like Pong or Mach 1. Just don't know
 what it might be yet.

For board games I would like Clue or one of the Parcheesi type games.
Sorry, don't know how to spell Parcheesi. grin

Ok, thanks for the info man.
So are you able to beat the computer by yourself consistently?
Also, I am still confused as to how you know if you are close enough to
kick or punch your opponent. I realize the two opponents are never too far
away to do a projectile hit, but are frequently too far away to kick or
punch.
Lastly, are you saying there is a special sound made when your opponent
goes over your head or vice versa? In other words, is there something to
listen for to tell when you are on the other side of your opponent? As I
remember from playing MK2 when I was sighted, the combinations depend on
what side of your opponent you are, for example Raiden had a back, back,
forward move, which would change from left, left, right to right, right,
left depending on which side you are on, making it extrememly important to
know if you are left or right of your opponent.
Thanks again for the info, I will post a review of the game after I get to
check it out, should be here tomorrow.
  Later,
  Che

 Hi there,
Well, I can tell you that playing MK Armageddon for the Wii is going to
be a trip. I personally can't wait to try it, as I have the PS2 version
of the game, and would love to perform some of those special moves and
fatalities using the motion controls. To answer your question though, no
location information is required. The arenas aren't large enough for
anyone to lose their opponent as they are in, for instance, Marvel
Nemysis. The sounds of battle aren't actually in stereo for some unknown
reason, but given the ease with which one can find their opponent, it's
hardly necessary. The only two things one might have to worry about are
deathtraps, which have sounds associated with them in some cases, and
moves that cause your opponent to switch sides with you. As you may
know, performing special moves is dependent on hitting the right
combination of buttons. A move could be, for example, back, forward,
then the C button. However, which direction back or forward is depends
on which side of the arena you're on as opposed to your opponent's side.
The key is figuring out which moves each player has to change sides, and
paying attention to when those moves are performed. Trust me, this is
 easier than it sounds.

Re: [Audyssey] Problems developing commercial games was Monty Opinions

2007-03-25 Thread Michael Maslo
Thomas:

I fully understand and I appreciate that explanation. It really does make
sense to me and it is frustrating because since you, like me, lost vision
after being able to play a game with sight is harder.

I used to play those highly graphic games and loved them and never had a
problem dropping $5060 for a game because that is what I enjoyed.

Now that I am getting older some of the games that are out for the blind
don't interest me.

I love Sarah by Phil when it was in beta status but after playing it for a
while determined though it was a awesome game and a awesome job done with
the game it did not interest me enough to make me download and by it.

I see all the people commenting on the game and how awesome it is but again
not my type of game. Phil did a great job and he needs to be commended.

I understand Tom and appreciate gain your time in writing the email
response.

I will look forward to whatever comes out and hopefully one day maybe sport
games can come out and hopefully once you have everything else done you will
have a opportunity to work on raceway.

I respect every one of the programmers who do this for a living or extra
money and marvel at there abilities and wish I had the time and age to teach
myself.

I tried but just don't have the drive it takes. I have a family and a job
which encompasses my life. I don't have time sometimes to do the stuff that
is required of me for work so a new trade or such world be impossible.

Thanks again and keep p the awesome work! Not only you but every programmer
with those special skills.

Thomas:

I thank you so much time for your response. I greatly appreciate the time
you took to respond.

As you said interests change and maybe since I most my vision not to long
ago maybe my interest have moved ahead.

I, as said before, will try the game and maybe will be surprised with how
much fun it is and will play it every day.

I never have stated I will not play it or even like it. I just was hoping
for some more games which offer some more complexity like the sighted people
have.

I sometimes feel blind gamers are left in the dark with the games out now
because of inaccessibility and always hope such awesome game developers such
as you and Che Martin, Phil, etc have the time and energy to make such games
as our out now.

I do look forward to when Monty has a beta out so I can try it.

I just wish there were more games with a more modern touch.

Just to also let you know I love the music from the 80
S more then I do for most music out right now. *smiles*

Thanks again for your response and have a awesome weekend. Also I do
apologize for any arguments I may have started.

Re: [Audyssey] Monty Opinions was Montezuma's Revenge

2007-03-23 Thread Michael Maslo
Thomas:

I am comparing it the newer games out there now. You see WE system, PS 3 and
PS 2 games. They are so enriched with sounds, complexity etc. For example,
my mom and dad play ps 2 golf. It is so awesome.

I love Jim Kitchen's golf game and play it probably 2-4 days a week. I wish
it had a little more complexity for example if you hit it wrong the ball
goes in the pond or in front of a tree and you have to work itself out of
the predicament it is in. Or if you hit the ball the wrong strength it goes
in a sand trap and you have to use a sand wedge.

It just seems as a blind gamers community we are limited what can be
produced.

Maybe the frustration is we are limited with what games can be created
and/or recreated.

I just wish the blind gamers community had games that may compare a little
bit more with sighted games that sound and look so fun and cool and hard but
yet fun.

Re: [Audyssey] Montezuma's Revenge News

2007-03-22 Thread Michael Maslo
I am disappointed Thomas you have chosen to go to a old game instead of
making a game modern.

If I wanted to play a game from the 70's I would have kept the game from
back then. We have so many old fashioned games already and now I feel in my
own personal opinion is taking 200 steps backwards.

I wish you well with the endeavor Thomas. We have waited a long time for a
release and now again taking 200 steps backwards for a release at no time
even a possible release date.

I respect your opinions and ideas and again wish you the best of luck in
your game development.

I just wish there were more games developed that would bring the blind
community into the 21st century instead of living in the 70 80's.

Hey Michael, I played a game around a year ago called perfect competition,

which was pretty cool, but I didn't have the proper time to devote to it as
I was starting to program Rail Racer.
It is a multiplayer game, and the competition can be pretty cutthroat,
with you setting up companies and trying to out produce and out price the
other players. If you play it, let us know how you like it, as I am sure
they have made many improvements to it since I played when it was pretty
new.

  Hope you dig it,

Howdy,
While extremely complicated and probably not what your looking for, the
game called Walstreet Raider, (or occasionally Wall$treet Raider, with a
dollar sign) is surprisingly playable. This is a full-on business
simulation--with mostly standard controls, though the tickers and such move
awful fast, they'd move fast for a sighted person, too. But it works, with
some effort.
Have fun,

[Audyssey] Railracder Tournament Suggestions

2007-01-02 Thread Michael Maslo
Hi list:

Myself and Damien are going to be handling setting up races and tournaments
and wanted all ideas on what type of tournament you would be interested.

Would you want a on going tournament from week to week and points assigned
to the winner for each week?

Would you like it to be 15-20 laps instead of just 5 or 10?

Do you think we should create laps different weeks to make it harder or
should we just keep the tracks that are currently available?

All ideas would be greatly appreciated.

To not clog this list up, please email me personally at the following email
address so I can copulate the ideas and post the results in a week or less.

Remember all suggestions are welcome and wanted. Please be aware that if not
possible to do will be kept on file for possible inclusion later.

Please email me off list at:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] and the subject line please put tournament idea.

I will have a filter that will send that email to a specific folder for ease
of reading for me and keeping up with everything.

Thanks everybody ahead of time!

Jason isn't reachable via E-Mail anymore, the game is abandoned, the

Whatever, I'll keep the file there and if J. wants to complain he can do
so, however I don't know if this will make me take dthe file down. The
file isn't copyrighted / copyrighted by a company that doesn't exist
anymore, so I guess he can't do anything against it. Many people want
the game and I have a server, so I uploaded the game so other people
could download and play it, it's a really good game and, Damien, I
repeat it again, the game is abandoned which means development won't
continue and the game isn't copyrighted in any way.

It's talking about the MindGrid audio which is enhanced audio for Quake,
and I believe the proper pak file is pak1.pak which is located in your
Audio Quake folder in the id1 folder. Not sure how you'd have two, but you
can safely move that pak file if you need to and then move it back to see
if the error goes away. If you have the full version of Quake, the pak
should be pak 2, but if you have the share ware, it should be pak 1.

Anyway, let me know more about the error and when it occurs.

Hi, well, first you'll need to install Audio Quake, and then, you'd
simply download the latest version of JQ (which is v 4) and then all you
need do, is simply press enter on the qmod file you download, and it
will
install automatically into your copy of Audio Quake.

This version of JQ is only for use in deathmatch, I.E. against bots or
other humans. However, version 3.8 has a DM and Single player (SP)
  version
which are labeled so you can choose which you'd like...

You can find both AQ and JQ at:

  http://tbrn.net/modgirl

The Audio Quake installs are in the AQ folder and the JQ versions /
docs
/ source are on the immediate page without needing to browse. There are
two installs for AQ, one has extra XP voices (MS Mary and Mike) and the
  other does not...

Oh, one quick but important note; if your AQ install conflicts with
Jaws,
if you use such, it will work with narrator, and the qmod install for JQ
  will work fine eitherway...

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask away!

Have fun!!!

Hi guys:

At the beginning of Chillingham you get to the antique store and she asks
you to take care of her termite problem.

Anyway when you answer yes, how do you kill the termites? I shoot when I
hear the termite either in the right left or center. No matter how many
times I spray them I don't kill them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Israel-made devices get blind into gaming action

  by michele chabin
  correspondent

jerusalem | Two children sit in front of a monitor and
 enthusiastically
play a computer game called Hidden Bombs. Each player imagines himself
on
 a
ship being tossed by high seas, surrounded by mines. To survive, the
 players
must locate the mines as quickly as possible. If they make the wrong
move,
they are told, the mines will detonate.
Hidden Bombs is just like any computer game, but with a crucial
 difference:
It is user-friendly for both blind and sighted people. The computer
game,
which is part of a series of educational software programs developed by
 the
Israeli company Virtouch, provides a wealth of tactile and audio clues
 that
level the playing field for blind competitors.
The Jerusalem-based company specializes in educational hardware and
 software
for the blind and visually challenged. The mouse it invented, called the
VTPlayer, utilizes an embedded tactile display that helps users read
information on the screen through their fingertips. In the October issue
 of
Braille Forum, Arie Gamliel, one of the VTPlayer's blind testers, wrote
 that
the VRPlayer looks almost exactly like the average computer mouse. It
has
two tactile displays on top, each consisting of 16 vibrating pins. There
 are
four controls or buttons, two on each side. It includes all of the
 functions
of a regular Windows mouse in addition to its unique capabilities as a
  tactical, immersive, multimedia device.
In his review, Gamliel, a Jerusalemite who lost his sight shortly after
birth, said that the device is easy to install on any computer. You
 plug
it into a USB port, install the software and away you go. All of the
games
are designed from the ground up to serve a cognitive role.
In playing them, he said, the child gains skills in terms of
 understanding
spatial relationships, tactile differentiation, a sense of relative
direction, comprehension of braille symbols, developing a mental
'picture'
  of complexity and so on.
Gamliel said that schools and educational facilities serving blind kids
should seriously consider purchasing the product, despite its $695
price
tag. That's much less than many common Playstations on the market, he
  noted.
While Virtouch is of course a business, Arnold Roth, Virtouch's CEO,
 insists
that those involved in the venture have a mission above and beyond the
  bottom line.
I feel a real affinity for the products, says Roth, the father of a
 blind
child as well as several sighted children. This company was founded to
 help
meet the needs of blind children, and we've expanded our scope to blind
  adults as well.
Founded in the mid-'90s, Virtouch is the brainchild of Roman Gouzman, a
cognitive psychologist from the former Soviet Union. Gouzman assembled a
team of software and hardware developers and actively sought input from
 the
blind, including many children. Roth says that there is a high degree
of
loneliness and separation in the lives of many blind people. Our goal is
 to
build cultural bridges between blind and sighted children, between
 siblings
or schoolmates. I frankly don't know of any other solution that allows
 [the
blind] to be both educated and socially connected at the same time.
Virtouch also offers several programs to help a child learn braille, as
 well
as tactile maps of the United States and Europe.
Many think that braille for the blind is like motherhood and apple
pie,
Roth says. In fact, it's losing ground in the U.S. There is too much
easy
availability of audio, on the radio and via the Internet. We're in
danger
 of
producing a generation of illiterate blind people.
One entry in Virtouch's Braille Adventure Series enables players to
 visit

  an amusement

Hi,
The flapping flag sound I can do. I have one around somewhere in my huge
collection of wav effects.
As for the lights I did not know that, but I was simply planning on
adding a feature that announces the color of the flag, and announces
when the flag changes color.
As for Jim's sound effects what are you talking about? I got a big zero
from James North on that score. He never gave me the esp file containing
all the effects which pretty has me screwed. I am still trying to get my
hands on the esp file that shipped with the beta that the beta testers had.

Gary Whittington wrote:
No, but thinking what may sound like it and it may be found.

A flag in a breeze. I know someone could even create that.

Then have several flags sounds you could use a flag sound being wiped
around. That would not be during the race but made a special effect in
 menus or buttons.

Just brain storming more here. As you know that lights are also used to
indicate the color of the flag. These light post are put around the track

for drivers can see if the flag turns yellow or red and wehn racing
resumes
green. I think a good idea would have certain sounds for the different
colors. Now where the post are set at on the track can help also driving.

The gamer could hear a sound from the post say a certain beeping, besides
telling the driver the flag is still green, but turn 3 is coming up. and
the driver should make its move down to the inside, gear down, or break
hard
to the left depending on the track of course. IN fact if the driver is in

the track groove they should be hear all the sound post.

So, in effect using those other RaceWay sounds for turning can still be
used
when that driver is not in the groove, but it wold be nice to know that I
am
in the correct path to get around the track the fastest.

Lastly, you had not mention if there was a included sound effect from that

Jim's group of sounds for the yellow line. It would be nice to have a
 Yellow line warning as well.

 Hi Allan,
On Star Trek the original series the three level chess set used all the
standard chess pieces, but the game had three levels and slightly
 different rules.
On Star Trek Next generation I know that Data usually used the standard
chess set we all know but it seams to me he once played the three level
set. It's been quite a while since I could see so I am starting to
forget details such as that now.
As far as the monster idea it doesn't necessarily have to be chess.
There are spin off games such as futile that have a cool chess-like
concept, but allows for different kinds of strategies.

or low down. You can fly around with jet packs, and have to aim bother
horizontally and vertically to kill and opponent. There are also places in
Quake where you have to jump up to get a key or open a door if I'm not
mistaken.

 Hi Lukas,
In your post you stated there have been several good 3D games for the
blind written. You mind naming me a few? To my knolege there are none in
 the accessible games market.
Keep in mind that I am not talking virtual 3D audio. I am talking fully
3d. That means you have six, I repeat six directions of movement
including: left, right, forward, back, up, and down. In other words
everything is drawn to true shape, skale, and you can move in any
 direction a human can.
I have seen on this list people eroniously call Shades of Doom a 3D
game. While it has a virtual 3D audio emulation your movement is still
only 2D. You can move left, right, forward, and back. You do not have
any upward or downward motion. Such as having to jump up and catch a
rope and climb up it. You also cant jump down in to a pit and grab say a
gem, and them jump out on to the surface.

 Neo wrote:
Why couldn't a side scroller have enough replay value? I tend to agree
 with
most folks here who are for the side scroller option. Although I love the
 3D
concept a lot and this new Angela character reminds me of the famous Tomb
Raider and my favourite Lara Croft so much, and although I don't have any
real relation to the original (old) Montezuma's Revenge, I still prefer
 the
side scroller option cause there have already been several rather good
 and
complex 3D games while we have only one side scroller that's atractive
 and
funny, but it's still just one. :-)
As most people said, when you release the original Monty as intended, you
can do some 3D version later on if ya like. Just my thoughts.
 Thanks,
 Lukas

Hi, Just to add my info, like has been said here, the original should
be kept, or you just might find a hole lot of people asking for
refunds, and yes, I do remember that you have stated, refunds will
only be given as tokens of a future production you bring out, but you
will still be the looser in the long run.

So please keep to the original as much as possible.

Chris 'England'

At 19:51 29/09/2006, you wrote:
Tom: Your ideas, each one followed by my thoughts:

Today I have been doing some major revising of the Monty game engine,
and I've really had some ideas how I could make the game better, but by
introducing the changes it may completely alter the original intent of
 the game.
Thought: You've already hit on why you should not make these changes.
It
changes the game's original intent. So, based on this very first
statement,
I'd say not to change it. Some of us bought the game because it would so
much resemble the original arcade game, and the original game is what we
 want as a finished product.

First, I have had several emails since I have taken the game over to add
a save and restore feature. Since the game was initially intended as an
arcade game I couldn't do that and keep the game scoring fair. However,
I can do what was done in GMA Tank Commander and have two different
modes. If you play standard game it will allow saving and restoring
games without keeping score. If you selected play arcade mode it would
play the game as an arcade game, keep score, and disable saving and
restoring games. What do you all think?
Thought: Here again, don't change the original. An arcade game it was,
and
 an arcade it should remain.

Second, I've had several requests for a first person style game rather
 than a traditional side-scroller. Honestly, I tend to agree a 3D first
person style game would be so much more fun and interesting. You would
have six directions of movement, left, right, forward, back, plus up and
down. It would allow for more complex temples and mazes. However, this
is a major deviation from the original game in the end the game would
probably evolve into something else and not really be Monty any more
unless this was Like Montezuma's Revenge II or something like that. In
other words a sequel rather than a direct one to one version. Any
thoughts?
Thought: Again, a side scroller it was, a side scroller it should
remain.
The blind gamer, as far as I know only has one other game which is
totally a
side scroller, and this was to become the second. Do we need yet another
game in which movement can be made in all directions?, or should you give
another type of game like the only side scroller we currently have? I'd
say
to give us another side scroller. In this case, 2 are better than 1. If
you want to make a sequel, separate from the original, that's fine.
However, it should be a separate game. The original Monty should be just
that--the original Monty. Monty 3D should be separate, because it, as
you
say, would probably be something vastly different than the original. I,
too, think it would be a fun game, but for those of us who want the
flavor
and feel of the original, which is what we bought, let us have that. If
we
want to buy the 3D version, it, too, will be available when it is
finished
 and ready for purchase. Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Thoughts about Montezuma's Revenge.

2006-10-01 Thread Michael Maslo
I disagree with that statement he would be the loser. I think the chances
are e would have more sales.

This is the 21st century and everyone wants something that was popular in
the 70-80's to be kept the same.

How about moving up and upgrading to the current and future? If people want
games that are from the 70-80's, why not just buy a game from that era and
play it?

How ridiculous is it to want a game that is old and dusty? Why not have a
game that has a lot of replay value and one that can offer so much more fun
and challenges and current with today's programming capabilities? why not
make a game that is attractive to all old and young a like?

I am a older gentlemen and want games that are current and offer all the
bells and whistles.

I think the chances are for those who want a game like what Thomas is
proposing would increase sales and if not may have the same affect you were
talking about of taking credit and waiting for a different game.

Thomas go with the new ideas. They are fresh and wonderful ideas.

I played the alpha beta and while it is ok I believe the way he wants it to
be and proposing would really rock!

My opinion only.

Hi, Just to add my info, like has been said here, the original should
be kept, or you just might find a hole lot of people asking for
refunds, and yes, I do remember that you have stated, refunds will
only be given as tokens of a future production you bring out, but you
will still be the looser in the long run.

So please keep to the original as much as possible.

Any thoughts?
Thought: Again, a side scroller it was, a side scroller it should remain.
The blind gamer, as far as I know only has one other game which is totally
a
side scroller, and this was to become the second. Do we need yet another
game in which movement can be made in all directions?, or should you give
another type of game like the only side scroller we currently have? I'd
say
to give us another side scroller. In this case, 2 are better than 1. If

That is what I am talking about. No games are out there for 3d games? None!

How can that be bad? It can't be. It is going or would be awesome. Instead
of getting to the 21st century we choose over and over again to stay in the
past.

Why?

Hi Lukas,
In your post you stated there have been several good 3D games for the
blind written.

Raider and my favourite Lara Croft so much, and although I don't have any
real relation to the original (old) Montezuma's Revenge, I still prefer
the
side scroller option cause there have already been several rather good and

complex 3D games while we have only one side scroller that's atractive and

funny, but it's still just one. :-)
As most people said, when you release the original Monty as intended, you
can do some 3D version later on if ya like. Just my thoughts.
 Thanks,
 Lukas

Hi Thomas.

I think it will be a much better game, if you make it as a 3D game. I know
the original game is a side scroller, but the original game is very old, so
it could be cool with a updated 3D version. There are already made alot of
side scroler games. If you make it as a 3D, you can make better levels with
more advanced features. I think it's a good idea.

The original game is old to who?? Sighted players?, or blind players.
That's the key. If you have never played a game, how old is also if I can't
have a save and load functions not worth purchasing either. I don't have the
time to play a game all the way through. to you?
It's totally new. If you have never played chess, you should never neglect
it because it is hundreds of years old. Try it and see what you've been

The original game is what I've been waiting for. That just isn't going to
change. If you want to make a fancy modern 3d adventure, please do that
after you finish the game people like me have been waiting for. Taking over
a project and then completely going in another direction is just not honest.
I think James North took things about as close as they could be taken with
the changes he made from the original game. To go much further in terms of
changing game play is to no longer be making Montezuma's Revenge. There's
just no two ways about it. If somebody makes a game called Accessible Pong
but addds things like obstacles in the playing field, turrets to shoot at
the ball with, etc, it isn't Pong anymore. It might very well be a fun game,
but it wouldn't be what its name implied. The blind community has more than
one 3d adventure game already but only one finished but very basic
sidescroller. You have a chance to bring a truly great classic game to us.
Please don't blow it by changing the game beyond all recognition.

No firestorm from this end. I fully understand and marvel at you working at
all on it. You are a human being and you have to prioritize. No problem. At
least one day it will get done and that is al that matters.

Thanks for the reply.

To be completely honest, school has been keeping me really busy. In both my
english classes, we have these huge papers to write. I actually have one
due this morning. I still have to finish it too. Heh.
I want to get the game done, as it promises to be really fun. But, I've had
set backs both with the game, and other personal things. I will make a
point of working on it this week. This will probably start a reply
firestorm, so don't start it on list, but I'm going to probably need a
replacement bad guy. The originall commander Ather has disappeared.

Hi Liam:

Was just checking to see if you were still working on judgment day?

I understand with school and regular life demands not much time is available
and not asking about release dates or anything like that but just was
wondering if it is still in development or have you given up that endeavor?

Thanks

Why not put a cal out for a cast or a person to do it?

I would not mind if needed and I am sure there are a ton of people who would
not mind it.

I may end up having to use my own voice, but I'd like to avoid that as it is
kind of tacky.
It's one of the things that is holding the project up however.

Hi Liam,
For a new commander, why don't you just use a speech symthesicer or use your
own voice and shift its speed down?
Robin.

[Audyssey] VIP Conduit and Windows XP media center

2006-08-20 Thread Michael Maslo
Hi list:

Just was wondering if anyone out there is using windows xp media center and
VIP conduit. I have been trying to use it but everytime I try to go into the
chat rooms it gives me a error that it had failed to initialize the
subsystem is unavailable.

Anyone have the same problem or ideas? Been working with tech support there
bt as of yet no resolution. Weird thing is that if I use windows xp home on
my desktop computer it works fine.

Please help if anyone can.

Ok I finally got this working. I'll post his Instructions below. Do the
steps in the exact order as shown in the instructions and the game will
 come up working.

 1. Install Python 2.4 (http://www.python.org)
 2. Install pygame (http://www.pygame.org)
 3. Install pySonic (http://pysonic.sourceforge.net)--Linux users should
 refer to Linux_pySonicInstall.txt
 4. Windows users install the FMod.dll in the C:\Windows\System32
directory
(you may copy and paste it there).
 5. Run main.py
Note: Be sure that you install Pysonic0.82.4.exe because if you install
pysonic0.8.2.3.exe it won't run with Python2.4. Now I'm off to learn how

 to
play this game but I can already tell you it's got great sound effects.

Re: [Audyssey] Review Of The Free Audio Games

2006-08-06 Thread Michael Maslo
What is the web site for this site please?

Subject: [Audyssey] Review Of The Free Audio Games

I've been checking out the new free downloadable games on the Audiogames
site and here's what I've found out.
Moosic_1.0
This game is modeled after Super Mario Brothers. When the game starts up
there is an intro and you can bypass the intro with the space bar. Once in
the game your task is to jump over the enemies. There are a couple of ways
to accomplish this. You can right arrow till you have the enemy almost dead
center and then you jump with either the letter w or the up arrow key. You
need to be real quick. Since I've never played the original Mario Brothers
I'm not familiar with that game but this is basically how you play this
game. This game is written in Python. Instructions are available at
http://audiogames.net
for getting what you need to run Python.
Sonar
This is an interesting game where the object is to kill the enemy when he
gets close to you. You use the left mouse button to fire a gun and the
right mouse button to reload the bullets in the gun. It is not neccessary
to move the mouse as the enemy will find you. This game starts at level 1.
I have not been able to complete level 1 so can't comment on how many
levels this game might have. If you move the mouse out of the Sonar window
the game still works. This is excellent for blind people since mice can be
hard for us to control.
FindTheSound
This game uses The Flaxh player. You move your mouse till you hear the
loudest sound in the center of your headphone and you left click. You only
have so much thme to complete a sound and once completed the game goes on
to another sound. Great sounds in this one and fun to play. This game is
multi level.
Flsound
This game is called Amazing voice and your supposed to find another person
who is playing the game with you using your microphone. Unfortunately I
can't get it working because they want you to connect to a server but no
server appears to be in the options and they didn't supply a server so I'm
not sure but the concept sounds pretty cool.
Jumpman
In this game cars come at you and you use your space bar to jump over the
cars. This one is really simple. It uses Flaxh.
Sightless
In this game your a person looking for a murderer. Your girl friend or wife
has been murdered. Your totally blind and you have to kill or at least beat
the other enemy. Basically you'll be fighting or boxing the enemy and you
have to listen when you hear him swing and left click your mouse button.
This game is not all that easy so it should be fun to try and beat the
monsters.
Spong
This is sposed to be sound pong but It complains when I run it And it says
that a .dll is missing from the package. I can't run this one.
That's my review of these games. All of them just run from the .exe files
and don't need to be installed. Just unzip each game to a folder and run
the game.
