I'll add slightly to that. You have keys based on wasd for directions, so x for south etc, and r for up and f for down. It takes a good bit of practice, but hey, that's easily fixed with a bit of RP and people taking new players on missions and things, which does happen. Cheers Dave On 28/05/2016 15:27, Mike Wassel wrote: Ok. Here we go, I'll try to explain this. It told you in the tutorial, but hopefully I can explain this. When you want to fight something, move to the enemy. So, M and then pick the number. When you get within one unit of them, type track. Pick the number, and you'll start tracking. Depending on what target tracking array you have installed on your ship, you might lose your track. If you look at your status, you'll see that the stock target array will only keep track of your targets 75 percent of the time. THis can be upgraded with better arrays. Once you've got the enemy tracked, type aim or, if using coords, aim aim. Once you've got your lock, you just fire. I think it takes some time to get used to it, as it's not the same as promotheus and miriani. As to needing a pack, you can try to do it without one, but I think it's needed for this game. It's up to you. Just use lockmode to change your preferred aiming method. Mike. On 5/28/2016 4:58 AM, dark wrote: Hi. No I don't have a soundpack. Hi dark To be totally honest if you are trying to do space combat without a sound pack is quite hard. X The reason I say that is because there was so much so per previous text rolling the screen while in combat that it makes it extremely hard to catch up with what you need to be here in tim With a psalm pack, you will hear only we are the enemy is which makes aiming for tracking then aiming a shooting a lot faster a lot easier and a lot more manage also said with a sound pack things just one more smoothly. If you're fighting with rats is probably the easiest thing as a newbie you can do. If you were doing Vector combat, that would mean if you heard the rat to your north you hit eight and enter. So that is what it sounded like you were doing. I like star conquest, however at times in my opinion it could be very On Sat, May 28, 2016 at 1:24 AM lenron brown wrote: > Right use vector it's a lot better. I think when playing again you have to remember not everyone has the same background so you should thin about that before judging them on spelling and things. The most important thing is to try. Next thing is if your gamers have issues and you want peoople to enjoy and play your game you will do everything you can to make a wonderful experience for everyone. At least this is the model I would follow. On 5/28/16, Darren Harris wrote: > The spam issue in sc has been brought up many times over the years. Dark, the game is not meant to be easy. I don't know how sighted players play the game, but remember that they're skimming the text and that's what the pack will do for us. It'll cut out the the uneeded text. Here's the pack, let me know if you have more questions. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4207910/Vipmud.zip Mike. On 5/28/2016 5:08 AM, dark wrote: Hi Mike. Also, why the hell is tracking so spammy, I dn't need to be told "a computer voice says" bl bla can't it just give the coordinates? really this is a major fault in the game and considering I had one ship destroyed and one nearly crippled it was pretty serious, and I've got my voice rate set pretty high. I prefer vip, so a vip pack would be nice anyway, as Vip works much better with sapi than mush does (reviewing and such is easier), but I will confess I'm a little irritated that a pac is necessary, sinse I thought the game was intended to be accessible off the bat anyway, really the staff should do a better job with combat display here and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this before. If you could send me the pack I might try again, although I confess I'm a bit irritated with the game thus far as it seems amazingly harsh when you screw up. I logged out and got one ship blown up, bye bye starter lone, I messed up a ground combat (which I admit was my fault), then I got one ship severely crippled and one ship blown to bits in twoimpossible combats leaving me with no money, no ship, no suit and no way to progress, and all the suggestion I got was "go beg my alliance" who didn't particularly help either (not that I'd go begging money off people). Re: [Audyssey] Star conquest very irritating
Ok. If there is an updated version of the VIP pack I would love to get a hold of it. I am sure the pack I have is a couple years old. Over all to me this is a really good game. Some of the commands get to me sometimes but that is something that changes between games. Like maybe because I am use to things this way I would love to be able to type move to the name of place instead of having to type move then pick a number in a list. I am talking about when flying around. Also asking here because I am not sure. Is there away to have tracking tell you coords of a ship. Instead of north east and so on? Also with this new sp is there a sound for changing between sectors? Thanks for any answers to these questions. Re: [Audyssey] Star conquest very irritating
Hey dark, I'm glad you asked here, and now that I know it was you, I can help. Do you have a pack for SC? Their is one for VIP, and once we're done updating the one for VIP, I'm going to port it to mushclient. The reason I couldn't say this to you on newbie, is because the staff don't like players talking about packs on the game. Once our pack is approved by the staff, we can though. If you need the pack for vip, I can drop you a link. Now for your questions. I'm guessing that you didn't have the pack, so combat was a ton harder for you. With the pack, you'll see the following: tracking In SC, their are two ways to lock on to an enemy. Coords and vectors. My guess is that you had coords selected as your preferred aiming method. I use vector aiming. W is north, A is west, D is east, and so on. For aiming up and down, I do aim -s, or +s. Remember that sine S is at the center of WASD, it tells the game to aim either directly up, or down. You can change this with aim +w, aim -x, and so on. Let me know if this helps, and if you need the pack. Hope you decide to give the game another try with this information. Mike. On 5/27/2016 2:12 PM, dark wrote: Hi. Re: [Audyssey] Star conquest very irritating
Hi dark, Do you have one of the sound packs? That helps because you don't have all the extra talking of unimportant text? Secondly, don't use coordinate based combat. Use vector combat. What that is hit the number 7 to aim northwest or 9 for northeast etc. as a new pilot do space combat with a group. As a new pilot none of your ships are strong enough to do a single beacon. As someone new learn to fly in manual mode stick to rats ground combat salvage etc. I plan on art art to play again and would be willing to help out. [Audyssey] Star conquest very irritating
Hi. Well I have asked this on audiogames.net so might as well ask here. ? Promethius I find a little incoherent for my taste in terms of activities and what not, miriani I don't like the idea of all the pvp and license to grief, so I decided to try star conquest. I have heard the bit about the enforced rp and profile creation but I thought I tried that, however I've not had a game where I've failed quite so badly. ?
