[google-appengine] Re: Cant Login to Google Apps from Eclipse 4.3

2013-09-01 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

Finally have it.

I have to actually grant access for all of the items listed on the page.

Is there a way to end this every time I sign-in?

This is very annoying, why every time, not just the first time signing in?

I never had to do this before, haven't had to update Google App for a while.

Thanks,

Raney

The answer is always change the warning to ignore

Hello,

I Updatedf the Google Plugin last week and started having the same problem.

Do you use more that one app-engine account?

As my good friend Inspector Jacques Clouseau would say “The problem is
solved”.

I had no problems logging into my app-engine account to check and add
applications thru my browser.

While back in the Eclipse SDK I noticed that the Google Plug-in keeps track
of the app-engine account that it is logging in as (visible in the lower
left corner of the screen).

I had never noticed this before, it may be a new feature.

The last deployment that I did was using my Brothers app-engine account.

Once logging out and logging in thru the Google plug-in for Eclipse all is
fine.

I hope that this may help some of the other members, it is simple enough,
just didn’t see any mention of it in the app-engine group.

[google-appengine] Re: Unable to update

2011-05-09 Thread RRRaney

Hello,

Just did some more checking of the Google Plug-in for Eclipse documentation.

Deploying your Web Application

To deploy your web application, you will need to create an application from
the App Engine Administration Console, at the following URL:
https://appengine.google.com/. If you already have one, then you can skip
this step.

Once you have an application ID, just right-click on your project, and
select *Google App Engine Settings...* from the context menu. Enter your
application ID into the *Application ID* text box. Click *OK*.

Right-click on your project and select *Google Deploy to App Engine*. In
the resulting *Deploy Project to Google App Engine* dialog, enter your
Google Account email and password.

*Note:* Don't worry - the plugin doesn't store your password anywhere.

Click *Deploy*.
Go to http://*application-id*.appspot.com/ to see your application.

The Plug-in does seem to be keeping my last used Login-ID and Password for
deployment.

I can exit Eclipse and restart but I am still logged in for deployment.

[google-appengine] Testing - Limit Compile Permutations

2011-02-23 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I have created an AppEngine Application that I am using to test.

I will only be using this to test code and features before I use them

I am currently compiling 6 permutations every time I compile.

I will only be using the testing with IE8. (I will test in others

I have seen many months ago that I could limit my compile to only IE8,
but cannot find this now.

How can I reduce all of the compiles with my Testing Application.

http://vinaytechs.blogspot.com/2009/09/gwt-compiler-compiling-for-one-browser.html

Just add the following line to .gwt.xml
set-property name=user.agent value=ie8 /
May not seem like much, but when all I want to do is test a small
chunk, i can do it in my Test Application.

I had a TestPage.html in my Applications, this cuts the compile and
file upload times quite a bit.

My test allows me to try just about anything with just the minimum
libraries and other files required.

[google-appengine] Eclipse - Linked Stylesheets

2010-11-28 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I am using eclipse IDE to create my AppEngine Applications.

I have a Stylesheet that I have been using in all of the projects.

The Stylesheet file is actually included in the war folder of each
project (different copies).

I have been trying to move this to a seperate folder and then create a
link to the file in my projects war folder.

It shows up as a linked file, I can edit it, but when I run the
Application I can see that it is not being used.

How can I create a link to a common resource and not have to import
separate copies in each project?

[google-appengine] Re: I Need A Push In The Right Direction - Basic Design

2010-11-16 Thread RRRaney
Hello Robert,

I am certainly having trouble explaining this one.

I am using the Eclipse IDE with the Google AppEngine Plugin.

When I create a New Web Application Project an AppEngine Application
is generated.
This includes one HTML page some Java code that implements the RPC
services and a couple of XML files that establish the Servelet Mapping
and Entry point for the Application.

I think that I have some (not great) idea of what all of this is
doing.

In the onModuleLoad of the EntryPoint for the generated Application a
Submit button is added to the only HTML page,
A ClickHandler with a ClickEvent is added to ‘listen’ for the user to
Click on the Submit button.

The sendButtonContainer is defined in the one and only HTML file.

This is in the onModuleLoad on the EntryPoint class.

final Button sendButton = new Button(Send);
RootPanel.get(sendButtonContainer).add(sendButton);

class MyHandler implements ClickHandler, KeyUpHandler
{
  public void onClick(ClickEvent event)
  {
  sendNameToServer();
  }

  public void onKeyUp(KeyUpEvent event)
  {
  if (event.getNativeKeyCode() == KeyCodes.KEY_ENTER)
 {
 sendNameToServer();
 }
  }
}

My Launch button (the equivalent of the Submit button) is not on the
first and only page of the Application.

I just can’t seem to grasp the concept of how to ‘listen’ for my
Launch button on the HTML page that it is defined in.

Thanks,

Raney

[google-appengine] I Need A Push In The Right Direction - Basic Design

2010-11-15 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I am trying to get started using AppEngine.
I have been reading many of the articles about implementing an MVP
design pattern,
I think that I can handle most of this once I get started with my
basic design.

I would like to create a site with three pages (all done with HTML
pages).

HomePage.html
ApplicationPage.html
ContactMePage.html

I have all of these built and am happy with the way that they look and
have the Navigation working just fine.

On the ApplicationPage I would like to include a Launch Button (this
is where I will take over and build my Application with its menus and
different data Views).

With all of the examples that I have been looking at the Button that
gets the ball rolling is on the first and only page.

How can I get MyHandler for the Launch Button on the ApplicationPage?

A little push would be a great help.

I believe that I can take care of the rest after I get the basic right
correct.

Eventually I would probably be adding AnotherApplicationPage and so
on.

Thanks,

Raney

2010-11-15 Thread RRRaney
Hello Ben,

I have a Lauch button that is not on the main page.

I would like to listen for the clickevent of this button and then
enter my application if it happens.

I do not think that I will have any problem with the code of the
Launched Application just how to get there is my problem.

If I have a Submit button on the HomePage, as the default AppEngine
builds as default, that is accessable with the RootPanel, there is not
ant problem.

How can I listen for a clickevent on the ApplicationPage.html (not the
main page)?

When I am on the HomePage.html, the only thing that I want to happen
is navagation within the Web-Site pages.
When I am on the ContactMePage.html, the only thing that I want to
happen is navagation within the Web-Site pages
When I am on the ApplicationPage.html I would like to listen for the
Launched clickevent and then enter my AppEngine code or just
navigate to the other pages code.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

All are behaving as I would like.

I would like to listen for the “Launch:” button on the
TrainigOpenings.html Page.
When this button is clicked I would like to enter my AppEngine code.

I have seen on the GreetingApplication generated by the Eclipse Goolge
Web Application how to go about this with the “Submit” button on the
home page.(this shows me all kinds of great information about my
ServerInfo and the User-Agent)

I would like to get things going with the “Launch” button on the:
https://rrrsystems-demo-vamv05bnm5.appspot.com/TrainingOpenings.html

I do not want the “Launch” button to redirect to another AppEngine
Address as I will need to access some of the data in other
Applications (RegisteredUser data, HostAgency data, SCSEPStaff data,
SCSEPParticipant data)……

After I get this down I will probably add things for the Hosts( allow
them to do things like change the phone, address).

Hope this helps,
Thanks,

Raney

[google-appengine] Re: I Need A Push In The Right Direction - Basic Design

2010-11-15 Thread RRRaney
Hello Robert,

I think that I have the basics of HTML down ( you can view the
source).

I have a harder time explaining what it is that I am trying to do.

I have defined and coded the three HTML pages and deployed them to:
http://rrrsystems-demo-vamv05bnm5.appspot.com

The Site and the HTML pages work just fine.
I can navigate and all is well.

When I am on the page,
http://rrrsystems-demo-vamv05bnm5.appspot.com/TrainingOpenings.html
I would like to listen for the click event of the Launch button on
this page and then enter my AppEngine code.
Actually go to the TrainingOpenings: Application. (Not a seperate
Site, I will need data from here in the other Applications)

If I look at the GreetingApplication that is created by the AppEngine
Web Application, I get there by the Submit button on the home page.

I would like to get there with the Launch button on:
http://rrrsystems-demo-vamv05bnm5.appspot.com/TrainingOpenings.html

This is not the home page.
I cannot seem to get the onLoadModule to listen for other HTML page
events, I think that it is something simple, just cant see it.

Does this explain what I would like to do any better?

Thanks,
Raney

[google-appengine] Re: Using Common Resources

2010-09-29 Thread RRRaney
Back Again,

I still cannot get this to work

If I use

#fade-in
 {
 height: 24px;
 background-image:url(C:/RRRSystems/Eclipse/Common/Image/
FadeIn.gif);
 background-repeat:repeat-x;

 }

All works great.

I Have created a Path Variable in my Eclipse Project:
COMMON_LOC   C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\Common

How can I use this in the CSS?

I have tried:
background-image:url(COMMON_LOC/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url(@COMMON_LOC/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url($COMMON_LOC/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url({COMMON_LOC}/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url(${COMMON_LOC}/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url({$COMMON_LOC}/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
background-image:url(%COMMON_LOC%/Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
None of these seem to do anything.

How can I use the COMMON_LOC Variable?

Thanks,

Raney

 Hello,

 I am having trouble trying to access a common resource using Eclipse
 SDK Version:3.6.1.
 If I can get it working as is, I will try to get it going using Linked
 Resources.

 Current Workspace:  C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse.
 Current Project:        C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication
 Common Resource:  C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\Common\Image\FadeIn.gif

 Directory Structure:

 C:\RRRSystems
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication\war
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication\war\MyApplication.css
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication\war\MyApplication.html
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\Common\Image
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\Common\Image\FadeIn.gif

 In MyApplication.html I have a link to MyApplication.css
 link rel=stylesheet
         type=text/css
         rel=stylesheet
         href=MyApplication.css

 In MyApplication.css I have the style fade-in
 I have used fade-in as the div id in MyApplication.html
 #fade-in
 {
     height: 24px;
     background-image:url(../../../Common/Image/FadeIn.gif);
     background-repeat:repeat-x;

 }

 My Relative Path Notation:
 ../          = C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication
 ../../       = C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine
 ../../../    = C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse

 I have tried just about everything that I can think of to get this to
 work, but nothing.

 The only way that I can get it to work is to move FadeIn.gif to:
 C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\MyApplication\war\FadeIn.gif
 And change MyApplication.css to:
 #fade-in
 {
     height: 24px;
     background-image:url(FadeIn.gif);
     background-repeat:repeat-x;

 }

 Any ideas would be appreciated.

 Thanks,

 Raney

[google-appengine] M/Billions of Excellent HTML and CSS Examples

2010-09-29 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I have started using AppEngine to build some Web Pages.

It is very difficult to find an example, let alone try and explain it.

If you find something that that you like, or close to what you like,
take a look at the source for the page.

I am using IE8 and have the option to View - Source.

While looking at the HTML source code you can find the name of any CSS
files and check them out also.

This is just to find an example that you can use, not to steal the
code or images.

Good Luck,

Raney

[google-appengine] Using a Relative Path to Common Resources - AppEngine with Eclipse

2010-09-27 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I am having a problem trying to use some Common Resources.

I have some Image files in the following directoty:
C:/RRRSystems/Eclipse/Common/Image/AnImage1.gif

I have created my AppEngine Application in:
C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\Application

The Application.css and Application.html are in:
C:\RRRSystems\Eclipse\AppEngine\Application\war

In my application.css I am tryimg to use the common Image files.

background-image: url(../../Common/Image/AnImage.gif);

When I run the application I do not get my expected image.
Warning: that I cannot find /Common/Image/AnImage.gif

If I just run the Application.html from Windows Explorer it works
fine.

How do I use common resources ?

Thanks,

Raney.

[google-appengine] Looking for example: Main Form w/ simple Menu

2010-09-13 Thread RRRaney
Hello,

I have been searching for a simple Java App Engine example that has a
Main Form(Frame?) and a Menu.

If I can find an example I think that I should be able to figure out
how to add additional forms to be processed by using my Menu.

I will be using eclipse to generate the App.

Thanks
